    Yay for more sleep

Alex is so close to rolling, this morning he spent half his playtime laying on his side sucking his hands and trying to figure out how to get his leg the whole way over...he loves it when I help him with that last little bit and will lay on his side for ages playing with his toys using both hands. He also doesn't protest being rolled all the way onto his tummy anymore either as he can prop himself up on his arms better to look around

Yay Alex Lilly's rolling has settled down now in her cot as she is wrapped now and seems happier with it. I just dont understand why as soon as 6am comes around she cant sleep anymore than an hour or so at a time, very odd LOL You were right though CK I do have an early riser

Amanda, I had hypnotism. I did a footprint of Levi's right foot yesterday, I would love to get it as a tattoo.

Levi isn't interested in rolling yet but wants to sit up. Always leaning himself forward and trying to balance.

Abby was pretty grumpy this arvo, she didn't get her usual after lunch long sleep as we had visitors with lots of noisy kids and then we went out. She's still very much a baby and doesn't really try to roll, she does move around in bed from side to side but that's it. Had a look at a grobag type thing today, still not sure if it would be useful enough for us.

We have had some breakthroughs.. hard won:

Hah, well last night was fun not, she has already learnt how to get out of the cot sheet no matter how I wrap it, so I have been putting her in the other wrap, and then wrapping the cot sheet around her lower half to restrict and anchor her. Seems to be working. She is very active with her arms getting to sleep but needs to be anchored or keeps herself awake. I was very frustrated and upset last night as sleep seems such a battle, so sat up and watched her and figured it out. My daughter is too smart for her own good. For some reason throwing your arms around is a good way to get to sleep apparently! and this is why she comes out of the wrap. I've watched her do it multiple times now and needs to be anchored or keeps herself awake funny chicken.

We are continuing with the play, feed, play sleep as this seems to work best. She is more interested in playing or talking to us when she first gets up, not eating, and it seems she eats better when we do this because then she is asking to be fed. I also have her up for about an hour and a half or till first yawn not first tired sign now, I found putting her down after an hour/first tired sign meant she didn’t seem quite ready to go down. She doesn't cry at all at sleep times now, just tries to get herself off to sleep. Occasionally we get a grizzle but nothing serious. Hoping this is the end of the short naps but we are starting this routine for its first full day today so we shall see how we go.

We figured out the car seat issue too, she was bored! Thanks Ck The mirror I bought was a big hit, with the soft monkey on it, and tied one of her toys to the seat, she hardly cries at all now. Although the mirror is directly in front of her, becuase she wasnt happy where she couldnt touch it with her foot. WEW! We actually had a relativley stress free shopping trip yesturday for the first time ever.

Heh, glad it worked And yay for figuring out something that works for better sleep.

Alex had a good night last night, went down at about half 9, woke for a feed around midnight then slept till nearly 5am. Soooo much better than feeding every 2 hours or so. Still trying to get the room temp/blanket combo sorted as our bedroom a/c has 2 options - nothing or arctic blast. Nothing in between. Though considering it wa 30 deg by 6am this morning, probably isn't a bad thing...

I think Jan felt out of place cos she's having alot of trouble with little Jessica, well I remember her saying so once of twice. If she reads this I hope she realizes how much she is missed and we don't mind her venting and would love to know she is alright.

I think there teeth can move around alot before they come through and Jaxon's old babysitter reckons that even after they have cut there teeth that they can get really sore until the tooth is in it's final place. Oh and how this, I was chatting to a lady about this the other day and she said one of her kids would get a respiratory infection every time a tooth was cutting through... poor kid!!

    Hello everyone,
I'm sorry I've been missing. I'm really touched that you have been thinking of us. I have been feeling out of place here, you are right Danni. Jess with her reflux, colic and settling issues is very challenging. Everyday is different. Though most days it is very difficult to get her to nap for very long. And from 8pm to midnight she is usually awake and unsettled. Things have improved with the medication thankfully but many say it will be after 4 months that we may see any big change. Others say 6 months or 9 months. This is what has me worrying the most. It is such a long time!!! She is absolutely adorable and a delight. It has just been a hard road.

Tresillian are coming to my house on valentines day. I'm nervous about that. I worry that the reflux causes the issues and how would they change that? She is also worse in the afternoon and night when the nurse won't be here.

I'll try to catch up on the posts soon. I hope you are all doing well. Thanks again for caring xox

Jan, glad to hear you and Jess are ok, if going through a tough and challenging time. Hopefully Tresillian can give you some practical assistance to get you through. Pop in whenever you feel able, we're always here to chat to, even if it's just blowing off steam

Have fun with the road trip AM, take plenty of breaks and hopefully he sleeps at decent part of the way for you.

Took a couple of pics of Alex in the big bath tonight, had to get DH to take them as he tries to roll over in there to drink the water the silly ratbag

    Happy Australia day!

Hey jan glad you are okay really hope you get some good advice on V day... With regards to the nurse not being at your house when bubs is at her most unsettled- try keeping a diary for the next few weeks until V day with the details of her sleep patterns, periods of unsettled-ness etc and get the nurse to look it over? This journey can be very challenging and emotional - and you sound like you're doing the very, very best that any human possibly can, so good on you! I think I've said it before but Jess is very lucky to have such a caring mummy who does all she can to help her baby - you should be proud!

AM- the hypnosis, was it a one off session or multiple?

Nikky hahahhahaha little harriett is quite the clever little girl at beating mummy at her own game!! Hahaha I love it.

CK - awwwwwwwww!!! He's so CUTE!!!!!

Violet sucks her hands like crazy too! Looks like she's trying to fit her whole fist in!

Finalised my uni enrollment for this semester- (had deferred last year with being pregnant!) and I rely have no idea how I'm going to manage studying with violet! I do it externally, but she hardly has any day time sleeps so hopefully I get that sorted before the semester starts! It's funny how I used to manage to study while working fulltime yet can hardly imagine studying while not working but having a baby!

    Hope everyone is keeping cool!

Glad to her your ok. Don't feel out of place hun! Lilly is still having issues. I'm glad they are coming to see you hopefully they can give you some practical soloutions. They might not be able to resolve the reflux and colic but can help with settling perhaps? My CHN didn't want to give us a referal to Tresillian for day sleep issues so I was not impressed. Told me to just keep trying for 6 weeks.. Going to ask my Dr about it next week.

Send me a PM anytime you want to talk. x
