Sounds fun Nikky I hope you have a good time.
Yeah my Pead said similar things, I'm going to wait to 4months though just to be on the safe side, its only one more week anyway :) I'm so pleased Jess is doing better. Did the retry of the Losec work? Lilly is back on Zantac and we are fiding that helping alot more. She hates taking it though!
My poor husband has told me he wants to quit his job, Hes been there for over 10 years and has been asking for a pay rise, and every time they are refusing him. And he just found out the new guy in his team got hired at 2 pay ranges above him, to do his job. Hes more upset than he lets on I think. They are treating him like crap.
We have savings from when we sold the house, and I get 1k a fornight till May to cover the rent, do you rekon he should just go for it? I think so becuase I want him happy not miserable, there is a chance they will not want to loose him and offer him a pay rise to keep him, its happened before there just not sure what to do. Nothing will change if we keep on keeping on if you know what I mean. Its a risk, but what is life without risk! We won't loose the roof over our heads while I get my money and worst case senario I can always go back to work, though I dont want to.
-
If you were in Perth I'd say yes, but not sure what the job market is like over there. My DH was having a similar problem, but has just started a new (better) job. Can he maybe start looking for a new job before he quits the current one? Even if his current employer offers a payrise to match, the crap treatment isn't likely to change.

Yay jan- so glad to hear Jess is doing well! Must be a relief but yes- I bet you've got lots and lots of sleep / relaxation to catch up on before you are feeling better.. Ouch @ painful AF!!! Make sure you take iron supplements if it's really heavy- that should help with the exhaustion. So your pead suggested starting solids earlier rather than later can prevent food allergies as well? Definitely have heard that's the latest school of though.. I'm going to try 4 months too! Good that Jess ate the rice cereal! They often hate it to start with huh!
So poor violet has has a blocked nose / but of a cough since Sunday.. It keeps her (and I) awake at night cos she seems to choke a bit when breathing in, probably with stuff from her nose coming down the back of her throat or sonething.. She seemed a but better yesterday but was quite snuffly again last night- been using Fess (woo thanks Nikky!) but its still hanging around and there has been a tiny bit if blood in the stuff from her nose.. Wasn't sure if I should take her to the dr? Its cold here at the moment do dobt really want to drag her out to the dr or go to the germy waiting room but do you think I should? She still seems happy enough, just blocked nose etc.. Poor bub.
-
I wouldn't worry too much if she's not running a temp or anything, sometimes using the aspirator with Fess can nick those teeny little blood vessels in the nostril - it's nothing major. If it was lots I'd say get her looked at.
You can also try putting a rolled up towel under the head end of her mattress to raise it a bit so she's on an incline, should help with the breathing at night. Hope she's better soon!
Hard to believe it's nearly been 4 months already - Alex is turning into such a talkative little boy, always chattering and cooing :) No where near ready to start solids yet, he watches me eat but that's about it. We're not going to start till he's showing clear ready signals, but I'm planning on clearing off the second dining table (the one that's on tiles) and getting his high chair so he can join us for meal times, even if he's just watching and playing.

erm...yesterday Zoe slept from 3.30pm to 7.45pm! then went back to bed at 9.30pm and slept to 6.30am!
This morning she has slept from 7.45am - and is STILL asleep!
I swear I don't know what to do with myself!
Harriett woke every hour to hour and half! this bub is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO different!
Really does make me start thinking bout having another one! now, if only I wasn't so old!
:( booked miss Z in for her immunisations on Monday :(

Wow luck you Nikky! Lilly is still working out how she likes to sleep. Looks like I have a tummy sleeper here. I've resigned my self to the fact I can't stop it now and shes sleeping longer. Ah well. She is settling alot quicker on her stomach. Take that experts! My nerves are still bad though I keep getting up to check her, her flailing has settled as well as the constant tummy flipping. She dosent move at all when asleep which is so strange to me becuase that is all she has ever done!
You can buy Elma patches from the chemist to numb the area if you want, I was looking at them. Means at least the needle wont hurt.
Yeah I dunno if Lilly is ready, I'll try but if she clearly isnt interested I'll just wait. She is interested in what we do eating wise but I dont think she wants to do it herself yet. If it dosent taste like milk she isnt interested LOL I think the pead recommends this for reflux to try and help. Dosent always work but worth a try if your baby is badly affected.
-
Thanks CK, I'm such a worrier sometimes! I'll try the propping up with a rolled up towel, good idea!! :)
Nikky you are not too old- have another one, have another one, have another one! Heheh. Just think how cute three little ones buzzing around the house will be :) heheheh. Do it :)
Lolpigs I'm the same, of at four months she seems really ready then ill start offering solids and of she's not interested I'll wait till she seems interested! Good that Lilly is at least sleeping well on her tummy!! Those patches sound good!!! I might get them for violets next injections! Broke my heart seeing the last ones hurt her..
Uni started back this week- so far I've hardly been able to open the text books!
Any good suggestions of little games etc for 3-4 month olds that you ladies play?
-
Ok kinda at wits end now, she just wont sleep she just lays on her stomach and cries or lays on her back and flails and screams. I completely lost it just now and had a cry and a yell at DH to vent. What on earth am I supposed to do. All she wants to do is roll then screams and cries on her stomach and never settles down. The sleeping on her stomach thing lasted about 2 hours when I posted since then it hasnt worked.
So tired.. tried to put her in her swing just now and bonked her head accidentally on the mobile :( I guess she is way too big for that thing now. So now I feel really terrible although she didnt seem to care. She is on the floor now yelling and rolling on her stomach. Do i just try and let her get it all our of her system or something? Shes meeting this rolling milestone very early and the screaming is wearing me down.
-
LOL - maybe try taking her nappy off, let her lay nakee, and grab her lil feet and bend her knees and push her legs up to her tummy (does that make sense?), and just keep doing that for a lil while...maybe she has some gas? I found this worked for Harriett and it works for Zoe as well...
Then there is always just giving her a baby massage....just to relax her :)
Worth a try
-
Does she enjoy a bath or shower? Though if she has gas, it could wind up being a bubble bath :p
-
Nope no gas just a terrible urge to roll constantly. Loves bath had one tonight, no gas there either. She yells at me when I try massage however after dinner I could try again.
Everytime I put her down she just flips and cries, its like she cant help it, but god I am getting no sleep!
-
well the massage turned into hysterics and she screamed for an hour, then fell asleep on me till 10:30 No idea what the issue was. She still wouldnt sleep without trying to roll last night but at least I was able to get a few hours sleep.
Not really sure what to do tbh. Wedges are no good. She almost suffocated in her one because she moves so much her face ended up against it so I wont use it again.
Only thing I can think of is giving her heaps of tummy time to try and relieve the urge to do it during hte day? I guess I'll have to suffer on a few hours sleep till she sorts herself out. ZZZz
-
Afraid I don't know - giving her plenty of playtime might work...fingers crossed.
Well that was odd - just took his hand out of his mouth to offer im a feed and he burst out crying, real tears and all! Cried like I'd taken his favourite toy away for a good 5-10 mins then finally settled enough to feed for a little while and is now falling asleep on me.
-
Thanks Ck, I hope something works soon. Perhaps she just really wants to be on her tummy but her brain wont relax or something. I'm hoping she will figure it out soon.
Lilly does that with her foot. Shes learnt to suck on her toes, the world shatters if I take it out of her mouth to try and put a nappy on or something.
-
Lolpigs don't know if it would work but I will usually swap things around so if Abby won't go to sleep in the bassinet I'll try the swing and if that isn't what she wants I put on her playmat propped up a little on a boomerang pillow, I'm not far away so I don't worry to much about the pillow on the playmat. Very occasionally Abby is really tired and won't relax enough to sleep so I will put her in our bed and lay with her till she's asleep.
She's still really young and remember they do things they don't realize and then get frustrated. At times it's good to re read the baby developement handbooks just to refresh our memories.

Yay, score! I just picked up a bumbo for $15 at a secondhand market :) Had been thinking about buying one but didn't want to spend the cash because I don't think Alex will be in it for very long...
-
Goodmorning ladies! Our bubbas are fast approaching the 4 month mark- Wow! Not sure about anyone else but I've started thinking of introducing Emilia to solids in the next week or so, she seems ready to me. I was going to go down the pureed food path to start with. Is anyone else contemplating starting solids with their bubs yet?
Ck, yay for ur good purchase- I've seen them in shops for $100+ so great find! Emilia got given one and she sort of likes it. Just be careful tho coz my MCHN told me of an increase in fractures in babies toppling themselves over when sitting in their bumbos. Apparently they actually havent yet been deemed 'safe' by Australian standards :s so yeh I'm sure u are but just keep an eye whenever alex is using it!
Lolpigs, how are u going with lillys sleep? Was she any more settled over the weekend?
-
Shes not too bad, still having issues with her wanting to roll but I just have to ride it out. She really wants to crawl so she is determined to practise all hours lol. Sometimes she is resettling herself on her stomach which is good we are getting less freak outs thankfully. Her days sleeps are also all over the place again. Waking after 45 mins and screaming becuase shes tired and I cant get her back to sleep. Tiring and Frustrating times.
Lilly is showing ready signs too but I'll be sticking with plain things due to her stomach. Farax and things. Got cross as my auntie yesturday didnt even ask and fed her custard, I would have said something but by the time I opened my mouth she had already done it.
So p-off. I told her not to feed her again without asking this morning as lilly was refluxing all night and is a bit off color today becuase of it. Noone is feeding her again. God people just dont think do they! Children are not communal property! GRR I know she didnt mean anything by it but still. Lilly can't really tolerate cows milk so that is why she is on goat's milk.
I got mine for $75 with the tray, thats a good bargin CK :) Ah well that would be I guess if you left them unsupervised once they were bigger in it? Lilly would have no hope of toppling it over currently. My friends 7 month old cant even do it, I guess like everything just use your noggin ;) Not much can be sold in australia for children without meeting australian standards so I not sure about that one. ($2 shops and stuff sometimes sell stuff that isn't checked)
I'm not well atm. For the last 12 months or so I've had this Itching/*****ling/Tingling sensation all over with no rash and noone could figure it out. They thought it was Cholestatis when I was pregnant but seems it wasnt because it has been back for the last month. Had to change Dr's becuase my GP of many years was not interested in helping me and I'm really suffereing. Hair has started breaking off at a high rate and my Psorasis is back on my scalp. Generally feeling fatigued and sick... and I just got AF. Hooray!
Anyway thanks for letting me vent. Hope everyone else is well.
-
Hi everyone and big hugs.
Hubby and i had Gastro yesterday, feeling so crappy and flat today. My mum had Levi all day, I was so sick I didn't have time to miss him, I felt so bad. Mum slept over last night to help with him.
I'm considering starting Levi on solids when he turns 4 months. Mainly because I know my supply will due to being sick.
