Buzzie - I chickened out... some of you may remember from the pregnancy, but I have a real fear of needles. DH is the same and chickened out as well.
They are offering it now, because at the moment the government is paying for it.

Eep i dont think I will get the shot for myself either.
Just downloaded the R stats program which I have to somehow teach myself how to use if I want to stay up-to-date with work stuff at home and keep producing papers with good graphics etc. I dont think I have used my brain this much since pre-preg! ha ha, oh man ok stop procrastinating di and get back to it! Struggle town.
we got the whooping cough vacc and made both sets of grandparents do it too. I have a GF who's bub got it just after the 2 mth vaccs (so he'd had one shot) and he was sick for 3 months - it was just hell for her. So I guess I was a bit parandoid after that. They reckoned if he'd caught it before the one vacc he would have been hospitalised for sure.
Bec - how do I make my 365 pics show on FB? they don't seem to be showing up even tho the settings say they should be.
Buzzie - my hardest choice is which photo per day hahaha I take sooo many lol!
Fuzzy - stats eeeww! Enjoy :p
OMG... I cant believe what is going on in QLD, it's shocking...
Just trying to get back into the swing of things after our little trip to sydney. It threw George out of whack a bit during the day because he was so excited about looking around that everything else went out the window. But at night, he did what he always does. Asleep by 7, dreamfeed at 10pm, and then slept till 7am. We took a portacot with us, and he slept in there fine. As long as he has his little richmond towel with him, he will sleep anywhere. We were putting him to sleep in the pram at 7pm, once he was asleep, we would cover the pram and head down to darling harbour for a drink and a bite to eat. It was great!!
Connie - where did you stay in Sydney? I'm going with mum in a couple of weeks and want to stay near Darling Harbour/Circular Quay.. was your hotel in walking distance?
Belfie - I think I just added the application and it shows on facebook automatically. Did you upload the photos after the app? I think I did see a thread on the 365 site about this problem if you're still having trouble.. sorry I'm not much help!
Bec we stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment literally 5 minutes walk from Darling Harbour - Oaks Maestri Towers. They're serviced apartments, and we went there so George could sleep in his portacot in the lounge, but you won't have that issue because you co-sleep. We've also stayed at the Novotel Darling Harbour before, but it's pricey.
If you want to be close to both the harbour and circular quay, you'll have to stay somewhere central (CBD), so you're 10 minutes from both.
I cant believe the flooding over east! Is it just Kirsten who is in Qld? No one else? Kirsten you are in Brisbane yes - all ok for you?
Bec - if you have the routine going then I am not sure why it wouldnt be working, i.e. timing. The only thing I would suggest is making sure he is awake from around 5:15 pm.. even if it means waking him up. If Chloe falls asleep at 5 then I let her go to 5:30 but no later otherwise she wont be tired enough to go to sleep at 7
Connie - Again Jealous. ha ha all you guys with your great sleeping babies. *sigh*
I am ok with Chloe's sleeping though. Actually I have told DH that if it is before 11:30 pm or after 1 am but before 3 then he has to get up and re-settle her. ha ha. Doesnt really work though as I hear her and have to wake him up! So no point to that really. Chloe wakes 11:30 ish then 3:30 ish then 7. But she grizzles at least two other times as she rolls into the side of the cot and gets stuck so I have to get up and move her. Anyone else having this problem?
Belfie - I bought that airwrap thing and it works well to stop her limbs falling through the cracks. Woohoo
Fuzzy- Pantha is also in Qld, she got the evacuation call but her whole suburb was isolated, no one could get out..she is safe though :)
I bought Harlow an Ergo Cocoon..She still loves being wrapped but recently turned into a bit of a Houdini and gets her arms out of the muslin wraps and wakes herself up around 4 am from doing it! Best invention!! I popped her in it when it arrived, put her in her cot, turned her mobile on and she fell asleep for hours- during the day-which she rarely does!!!!!! She also slept right through the night because her arms were in it- no 4am wakeup call to re-wrap her~!!
For the past month or so I had noticed a brown patch on the top of harlows head (Where a fringe should be)..I assumed she had a birthmark but upon closer inspection I noticed it was dry skin...Last night I used a kitchen scourer (!!!) and gently exfoliated it an dit dissapeared! Now she looks so different, can't believe no one who has held her ever commented on it or asked if it was a birthmark or anything!!!
Harlows rolling is kind of driving me bonkers...she won't keep still! I go to change her nappy and away she goes, i go to dress her and away she goes...those bubs who aren't yet rolling-ENJOY it, I'm jealous!!!! hehe
Connie - cool thanks, I'll check it out
Belfie - did you figure out the 365 fb updating? There's also a BB thread about 365, some of the BB ladies are doing some great stuff.. the thread is under hobbies/photography if your interested, maybe someone there could help with the problem?
fuzzy - thanks, I don't usually do the bath time thing at the same time every day, just around 6 ish depending on when Isaac wakes up. I figure if he's asleep then that's probably what he needs most at that time so I don't wake him up for it. Last night he went to sleep at 9 though, so gradually getting better! He's still waking a couple of times a night too, last night was 1am, then 4am, then his usual wake up at 8 but he went back to sleep for an hour or so.
Pantha, Kirsten & Dory- I hope you and your families are all safe, let us know how you're going
Hmm, I had all these persies in my mind and now it's blank....
Bec - thanks for the hello - all ok where we are in Brissy... thankgoodness. It's been nice to have DH home these past couple of days. Feels like we got to enjoy each other's company, as we didn't when he was actually on holidays as we were both sick and miserable and tired.
Bec - I have the opposite problem with Hannah - she goes to bed too early - 5pm ish lately. I try to eek another hour or so out of her, but it's not worth the grief. Of course that means she wakes up more during the night. The other night I actually achieved a dream feed at about 10pm, but she still woke up at 2am. Today though she is just waking up from a nap and it's 6pm, so it won't be as early tonight.
Glad you got Isaac to go to sleep a little earlier. Hope it works again!
Belfie - Glad DH is feeling better from the vertigo. I seem to have it mildly a lot of the time, esp if I am tired ( so I have it a lot of late). I can only imagine how debilitating it must be to have a bad case of it. If DH is saying he's miserable, he actually is, it's not like a "man cold".
Wite - It was good to hear about Harlow.
Chuckie - It was good to hear about Peal. I am with you on no clock based routine. Hannah is getting into the swing of basically 2 hours up and 2 hours down. Your trip to Sydney sounds great... glad you got to enjoy some adult time but with Peal in tow.
Hannah is being a pin wheel in her cot too - arms and legs frequently falling out. I was going to get a air wrap, but then I decided that it's a learning process for her, and she won't do it for much longer. It is pretty hard to see but I check on her a fair bit and it's not frequent.
Got to run, being summoned.
Kirsten and Pantha - thinking of you too, and hoping everyone else around Aus is safe too with this crazy weather we're having.
Oh I just remembered a couple of things..
Both DH and I have had the whooping cough vac. Our bubs rely on their carers for their protection, and there is no way I would want Hannah to catch it from me. In adults it can present just as a persistent cough and have few other consequences, but it's really serious for our bubs.
Can't remember who said it - maybe Chuckie about the brown stuff on Peal's head - maybe it's built up cradle cap? We use olive oil and then brush the scalp gently. Hannah had a really big build up of it and it took ages to get rid of but it's almost gone.
Bec - have you had your op yet for your carpal tunnel? How is it?
Oh, it seems Hannah is getting interesting in rolling.... lots of twisting going on....
I saw the neurologist today - and had a nerve conduction test, basically getting mildly electrically shocked. Kinda weird, uncomfortable but not painful. Good news - nerves in my limbs seem ok. So off for a huge whack of bloods, a GTT ( the 2 hour one - thought I was done and dusted with those) and also a full head and spine MRI( they are not cheap! but get a lot back from medicare just have to pony up in the first place though), then back to the neurologist in March. Although I still have carpal tunnel in both wrists which may or may not go away. And I was told it ( the nerve issues) could be serious or it could just be the nerves are agitated after a virus and it will pass and the tests may or may not find out, but if something is found, it will be discovered early and is likely to be very treatable. Oh guess what - the neurologist called me "young". I am just beaming with that bit of a compliment.
Just popping in for a quick hello cos I'm heading to the beach again tonight.
I'm sooo excited that Isabella slept thru last night!! 9.30-6am! I could not believe it when she woke me it was already day light! She is just such an unreal baby compared to what Ash put me thru I still have to pinch myself!
Have a lovely weekend :)
Buzzie - enjoy the beach AND congrats on Isabella sleeping through - what an achievement and such a nice surprise.
Good luck with all your blood tests Dory. I hope whatever it is just passes by itself. quickly.
and OMG I AM GOING BALD
Hi ladies - just a quick one.
Buzzie - I have been reading on BB - who was Lucy and how has her life ended so close to her sisters? (It all sounds tragic and I really feel for their parents).
Chuckie - I cant share details about her death but she was aVERY well knownlady and a it's a very horrible thing that is flooding bb atm which it shouldn't have so it's a delicate topic ATM. But Lucy was a very lovely girl and I knew her and her sister and it's very sad.
fuzzy - I am losing clumps of hair too - like, a lot! Everytime I run my hands through my hair, a clump comes out... shocking!
George rolled from his tummy to back last week. It was so funny... he took his time, but he got there, and then wouldn't stop doing it!
:happybirthday: for Friday Buzzie!!
