Wite - yeh that is my favourite photo of her too. They are such gorgeous angels when they are asleep
Hi Buzzie! I did Chloe on baby rice mixed with EBM for 3 days only once a day. Then I moved onto a fruit - once a day for three days then another fruit. Now I am trying her twice a day on two different things. Fruit + vege or rice + fruit. What a cute signature pic of Bella!!
Just a quick one from me as I have mastitis AGAIN. Off to the doctor. I feel like absolute crap. Got the sweats, feel too sick to eat, really really painful right breast.
Hope everyone has a better day than me! lol
-
Wite - thankyou! I agree Hannah must have some angels at her side....
Phew that is scary about Jett... you're right though, there's only so much you can do... the only other option was to take Harlow to the hossy, cause you couldn't leave her. Taking her to the hossy for that long would have been just too much for all of you. So YOU DID THE RIGHT THING! I know it's so easy to feel guilty..... but don't. Hope that his asthma is mild and the reliever and the preventatives do the trick.
About solids? We've had two attempts here, and Hannah has taken to them really well, I have been the one to pull back. LOL... how selfish is that? About when to introduce new foods after rice cereal? In all the reading I've done that's actually not clear to me...
A handout I got from the clinic at the hossy which says its been endorsed by an aussie paediatric dietitian, says - offer 1-2 teaspoons of rice cereal after a milk feed, and gradually increase until your baby takes 1-2 tablespoons of rice cereal, then try new foods, but only introduce one new food every 3-4 days.
The SA child safety web site has a good summary on solids and it says give after or in between milk feeds, start with one teaspoon and build up to 2 tablespoons or more ( if your baby wants it) ... once your baby has learnt to take and swallow rice cereal from a spoon, you can try other foods, offer one new food at a time, a few days apart.
So - it seems either way is ok and just do what suits you. One of the seminars I went to said it can take up to 30 attempts of a new food for a baby to accept it. Woweeeeee.
Hannah has been sleeping terribly lately too, and she's got a cold. I am used to getting up 1-2 times a night, but it's so much harder when I have a cold too. I hope Harlow gets back into her sleeping grove and you get some sleep soon.
It's so easy to fall into the trap of comparing babies and milestones... but in reality, they will each reach different milestones in their own time.
Bec - I feel so tired but so proud.... I have 99% finished weeding the front 2 gardens - only have to actually pick up all the weeds and put them in the green bag. What a mamoth task it has been. I am really tired... .perhaps today wasn't the best idea to finish it? LOL. Thought I could get a nap in but Hannah woke up, cheeky. She's not gone back to sleep so I am off.
Baby cuddles.

Isaac is asleep so I have time for a quick post..
Re competitive mums. I'm over that too. Seriously, each baby is different. I can just imagine that it only gets worse as the babies get older too. The ones that really get on my nerves are the materialistic mums who like to show off all the 'stuff' they have. I don't care. I am happy with what I have, and I don't need a flashy phone/tv/car to make me feel good. Those 'things' don't matter. Isaacs favourite toy is a fabric book I bought at an op shop for 20 cents, and a plastic water bottle I filled with cellophane and unpopped pop corn. He gets more enjoyment from those two things than any fancy stuff, and I hope he never feels pressured to have the latest things just to fit in with his friends.
All this talk of solids is scaring me! It seems so complicated. Looks like I've got some reading to do before we start.
I love you girls! Thank you for being so supportive of my sewing stuff on fb.. I probably can't post about it here anymore, I'm a bit scared to after I got my photography fb link removed. Anyway, thanks so much you are all so lovely :)
-
Hmm - I somehow missed so many posts when I posted.
Connie - love the new pic of George in his Richmond gear.... go the TIGERS. 75 is huge but small for your families... Glad you got a nice dress.
Fuzzy - oh dear sweetie... I was just wondering the other day if you can still get mastitis.... feel better soon. I know Chloe isn't such a great sleeper but I hope she has some good nights so you can rest and get better.
And yay for Chloe for sitting. Hannah had her first decent sit unsupported today and played with some blocks. OMG she was just so proud of herself. Of course she gets tired and either pitches sideways or backwards or the one I love? She just folds forward ever so slowly.. I too am helicopter mum when she's sitting.
Bec - I agree about hoping our wee ones aren't materialistic. It's hard though in a society that pushes material things. I suppose really what my ideal as a parent is, is to give Hannah the skills to love herself and others, respect herself and others, have compassion, have strength and not be afraid have a bit of fun too, life's too short to be serious all the time. The next question is exactly how to achieve all that. A lady I know has 3 teenagers and the youngest at 15 will kiss her goodbye and hello when she drops him ff to school. She told him when he started to get embarrassed about it , something like " it doesn't matter where you are, you don't disrespect your mum... you love your mum everywhere, anytime". I am hoping to pass that one on.
Thanks for the tips too - I have been meaning to make Hannah a home made rattle and now I will have to.
Buzzy - good to see you're back and that Bella is starting solids. I too am going to have a chart on the fridge when we start... it's on my list of things to do. Bella's new pic is nice.
Oh well... I am off. All exhausted from being crazy in the garden.

Just quickly, Isaac got weighed today, he has hit 8kg! While I was there I asked about solids, the MCHN said he is ready now going by his feeding more regularly etc. I really want to wait until 6 months but I am very tempted, and everything I read says to wait until 6 months and that bm is all they need until then. Anyway I bought some rice cereal, it's in my cupboard just waiting. I think I might give it a go on Sunday when he turns 5 months. I just feel really weird about it, I don't know if he is really ready, will his digestive system be ok, and I also am very sad that he needs more than me now.
Oh and the MCHN also said just rice cereal with water or BM once a day until 6 months, and then start introducing vegies and fruit after he turns 6 months. She also said to start giving him water in a sippy cup after 6 months. Opinions about the timings are different everywhere though.
-
I really think that people can be very very cautious about soilds... I havent had a single issue with them, and we started quite early. If you decide to try, and he doesn't react well to it, you just stop... no harm will be done as long as you dont persist if it's making him ill etc - which you wont.
As for him needing more than you  sadly that is going to be happening all his life as he gets older... this is just step 1.
-
Connie - so true... their lives, right form the very beginning are about becoming more and more independent of us....
-
Bec- Jetts favourite toy as a baby was an empty small coke bottle filled with uncooked rie, he would shake it all day long!
Yes, comparisons between babies is oe of my biggest pet peeves..Unfortunatly, It doesn't stop, jett & his cousin who was born 2 weeks before him are STILL constantly compared, I hate it! (At the end ofthe day, aslog as I am happy with what and when my kids do things, that is all that matters to me!)
With Solids, I took some of Connies adice and have decided to try Harlow on a new food every 3 days, She had rice cereal for 4 days and she tried Pumpkin yesterday and today (she loved it, much to DPs disgust because he hates it) and I also started giving her cereal in the afternoon aswell (So pumpkin at lunch, cereal in the arvo), she gets about a tablespoon of 9dry) cereal mixed with either boiled water or leftover formula if she didn't finish her previous bottle. i also offer her a bottle first and solids second (I tend to wait 45 minutes after a bottle before offering her cereal). At first it was all confusing but now I seem to remember how i did it with Jett, I even bought some fantastic silicone freezer pods so I can puree and freeze vegies/fruit too!
-
Thats a great idea Wite - i might get some of those.. :)
-
Wite - That all sounds perfect. I try new things in the morning or afternoon as well, that way if he has a reaction during the day I will see it.
Dory - I actually don't mind them becoming a little independent... it actually makes me so proud of him! But I do miss him sleeping on my chest (I can't believe I am saying that - I was so tired of it at the time) :)
I get the judgement and comparing A LOT... because George is so big and 'older', people expect him to be doing all sorts of stuff - 'Is he crawling yet?' Then I have to sit there and explain that although he is almost 7 months old, developmentally he is 7 weeks behind that, so he should be compared to a 5 month old blah blah. And then they just say to me 'Naa, he's a big boy!' Righty-O!
George just had his 6 month immunisations today... he was great. Cried for 2 seconds as the needle went it, and that's it. We also weighed him for the first time in ages - 9.6kgs!
-
Connie - I don't mind it either, the independence, but I was more saying it starts right from the beginning. Go George - 9.6! He's a champ.
Wite - I just realised Jett's birthday is coming up - 4!!!! No way! Do you have any plans?
Well, today I went to visit a friend of mine who has twins.... they have always been so tiny and asleep or feeding when I am there that I've never really gotten to see them. They are so cute and starting to tunefully vocalise and smile. They of course are used to babies but Hannah was just so curious. Miss Hannah didn't sleep while we were there 11-3 and has only just had a small nap now... argghhh if she doesn't go back to sleep it will be a tough evening for us. I am trying to ignore her talking. I did that the other day by taking longer to get to her than I thought and she went back to sleep. Fingers crossed, though it's not sounding promising for more sleep. Off to check.
-
well once again things have changed. My dad went into hossie overnight (he's had a history of heart problems). Has been sent home today - so am glad to say he's ok - but will have some further tests... and of course... bye bye nanna! So we packed my mum off on a flight this afternoon (they're down in Tassie) and of course she needs to be home to look after Dad. Am feeling just a smidge petrified now she's gone (and didn't have much time to prepare myself!) but trying to tell myself that things might be different/better with Annika sleeping better. Plus we're trying something new for DH's vertigo pretty much every week at present (osteo, new meds, acupuncture, dietary changes, different dr)...so hoping by hook or by crook to fix him asap. And in the interim, I'm using my spare time to write thank-you cards (yeah running so late!) & clean out our hideous garage (hard rubbish next week). Sorry once again I don't have time for persies :( and feel like you guys must think I'm always whinging about something!!!
-
Belfie - I hope your dad is ok. I'm glad Annika's sleeping better :)
Dory - home made toys are so easy. I have another water bottle filled with water and chopped up christmas tinsel, it looks all sparkly when its catching the sun. Another one they showed us at playgroup is ziplock lunch bags with some rice or baby powder or cold jelly inside so that they can grab them and feel the different textures. Obviously those ones you only let them play with when you're sitting with them though.
I like what you said about your friend with the 15 year old, I will remember that.
I know what you mean about babies becoming more independent, and I don't like it! I don't know why I am feeling so sad about starting solids. I should be happy he is so healthy and thriving. Maybe it's because I know he's the only baby I will have, and I'm really aware that I'll never get to do this again. Or maybe I'm just too emotional sometimes. It's just going all too fast for me and I want it to slow down.
Hi to everyone, I was going to reply to more things but I just want to go to bed. Oh I don't know if I mentioned that lately when I put Isaac to bed at night time he wakes every half hour to an hour or so until I go to bed too then he has normal sleeps, but anyway I tried something different tonight after he woke for the third time.. such a simple thing. I turned the light off and just put a night light on (usually I leave the light on, it's not very bright).. and he's still asleep 2 hours later. Duh. Why did I not even think of that before now??
-
Dory- You have a good memory! Jetts birthday is next Tuesday, we are having a small family Birthday party for him the following weekend, I cannot believe he is turning 4-they do grow up so fast, DP & I were only talking about how he was as a baby the other day!!! I posted a photo on FB of Jett & Harlow at the same age in the same Tigger playsuit, so cute and they look so different, yet so alike!
Buzzie- The freezer pods I bought are called weanmeister if you put a dot com dot au on the end of that it should take you to the site- they sound fantastic because after you stop using them you can start using them as muffin trays and everything!!!!!
-
Wite - thanks for the tip.
Fuzzy - how are you and that mastitis? Hope you feel better soon. Is the heat still wicked in Perth? I am just tired of how hot it is. Doesn't help that I have a cold too.
Belfie - oh sweetie. so scary for your dad and your family. Hope he feels better soon and the tests either find something easy to fix or not probs at all. Keep going strong, YOU ARE AMAZING AND YOU CAN GET THROUGH THIS.
Connie - did you say you were moving into a new house soon - ish
Buzzie - glad you've got a date to work towards for moving, it helps.
Well, back from the Dr, Hannah has a cold, no infections... phew. Just need to keep an eye on her in case she develops an infection as she's been sick for 10 days now, if not more. When she's been sick she's been so hard to settle at night, only took 1 hour last night... much better than 2. But then she often wakes up. We used the vaporisor for the first time last night and it seemed to help... no more wakies. We got the Vicks one, even I can use it. LOL.
Oh Wite - it's in your ticker, would love to claim a great memory but that would be faking it... :)
-
Dory- Lol, I completly forgot about the ticker I have hehe :)
I didn't think of using the Vaporisor in Harlows room for her cold, I may steal this tip off you now thanks! I used to use it for jett when he had colds and it was great. Harlow didn't settle until 2am last night. DP is out for the night so it is just me and the kids tonight, fingers crossed she decides to go back to her normal self again and sleeps!!
-
Wite - those things are amazing. I heard tupperware made some, but don't think they were out of silicone. I will be getting some for sure... only issue is, and it's important, what colour. LOL
-
Hi guys,
Gee chatty
I have the tupperware ice trays and use them for Chloe's food. They are fantastic
Cant believe george is 9.6 kg! He has grown so well! We are at 7.4 kg here.
I am a bit of a wreck. Getting over the mastitis thankfully. Right boob is not sore today. Just super-tired. I have been meaning to get my thyroid tested but keep putting it off. But I think its getting bad. I am getting small rashes, my right eyeball is hurting when I look around (:o) and I cant keep any weight on. I am now 4 kg lighter than before I was pregnant. I just really dont want to go on the meds for it
-
Wite - FX crossed for tonight.... 2am is very hard yards.... poor Harlow, and you. Hugs.
Fuzzy - hope things improve.... do you have hyper thyroidism?
Connie - wow 6 month injections.....I am not looking forward to ours as Hannah hasn't reacted well emtionally or physically, but looking forward to it as then it's 6 months til the next time. Yay.
Phew - so far so good tonight.. Hannah went to sleep by herself after a chatting to herself for a while and has not yet woken up or cried.
-
Dory I sat infront of the page trying to decide on what colour of them freezer pods to buy..I loved the turquoise but also the pink..In the end I picked Pink, I only bought one because once you freeze food you just pop them out and put them in a sandwhich bag and make more!
harlow slept last night from 9pm til 8am without so much of a wimper, DP was out at a concert and wasn't coming home so Harlow must have known I like my sleep haha!
Fuzzy- definatly get your thyroid checked, your showing all the symptoms! I got my tested when harlow was about 7 weeks old and haven't gone back for my result syet- stupid I know but I do NOT want to go back on the meds either :/ so glad your getting over the mastitis, sounds so painful.
I am losing SO much hair oh my god..handfuls and handfuls-I'm suprised I have any left!!! Is anyone else? is this a hormonal thing in/after pregnancy..I'm starting to worry I have bald patches at the back-too scared to get DP to check just incase I do lol!
-
Wite - hair loss post partum is totally normal, yep even handfuls and bald patches... my dermatologist told me that some women actually lose all of their hair, but that's rare. Hannah and I would be a match if it happened - 2 baldies.
OMG - that is the most amazing sleep ever. Last night Hannah had from 7pm to 4am, with a whimper sometime around 2 which I ignored, well I put my hand on her chest, and she stopped whimpering and went back to sleep. And for Hannah that is an amazing sleep. But then she was up at 5.30am and wasn't interested in going back to sleep. But that length of sleep is the best she's ever done I think, or if not, anything better was a long time ago and would have only been one night.
And naughty you, go back and get those results.... you had it checked cause you felt there was a need to do it. Do the meds have yucky side effects?
Bec - you had me laughing about the light... something so obvious to others yet not to us. I had one of those moments last night too. Made me smile at myself.
I sent Deana a PM a while ago and haven't heard back from her. I am guessing she's moved on. Hiya to all our other mumma who don't post as much any more, if you're still reading.
-
Hi ladies,
Dory - I am glad you had your special day for your angels - it sounds really touching and it must have been so good to do it with HB present and healthy. I can't being to imagine what it must be like for you but I will continue to remember my angel on their due date every year. WOW - I am sooo impressed with HB's sleep - you can't begrudge her getting up at 5:30am after a stint like that - still a distant dream here! I checked Deana's fb after you mentioned she hasn't been on here lately and she started uni this week so has prob been busy with that.
Fuzzy - sounds like you are having a terrible time and motherhood is relentless - you can't even pack yourself off to bed for the weekend to try and rest up. It's also hard to know when you are sleep depreived if your exhaustion is just sleep deprevation or something else - you sound like you need a break - have you got family close by - call in some favours if you can and SLEEP - your bub will thank you for it when you are chirpier afterwards.
Belfie  Gosh it really is one thing after another for your family at the mo - I can't believe you are keeping all the balls in the air - you will look at your achievements during this time and wonder at what a wonder woman you are just to get through each day with kids, house and husband in tact (not to mention your mind!!!!)
Wite - the hair loss is def preg related. apparently while preggers we don't loose hair like we normally do so some women loose it all afterwards - but this is a while afterwards! How scary for you with the hossie visit - glad Jett is AOK.
Connie :o 9kg!!!! what a healthy bub - have you turned his car seat around yet? Pearl is on 6.75kg which makes her easy to transport around still.
Bec - great work on your little business - hope you are getting plenty of orders!
Well we are still on struggle street here re sleep. P is up every 1.5-2hrs at night and then only having 40mins at a time during the day. I spoke to the LC yest and she told me to take her off the solids I was giving her in desperation and change my diet AGAIN and keep a food diary for me and a poo and sleep diary for Pearl - then I have to call her on Sunday and report back - I hope this works because I am tired!!! She is also sending me some teats to try on P as she will NOT take the bottle and I want DH to be able to feed her overnight just one night a week so I can sleep - will let you know how we go. Had her 6month health check the other day as I said earlier 6.75kg and 65cm - so only grown 1cm and .75kg since 4months - I bit different from when she was stacking on 150grams a day!
-
Dory - yeh hyperthyroidism. I am being vain as I think the meds will make me put on weight. Good sleeping Hannah!! Maybe I should just try and resettle Chloe rather than feed her for one of her wake ups. She generally wakes 1-2 and 3-4 then 6:20 on the dot. I might try tonight as we are down in Albany for the long weekend and she is in the same room as us which will be interesting
Wite - I thought I was going bald too. It is not quite so bad anymore though so hopefully yours will slow down too.
Chuckie - Chloe would not take a bottle either. I tried so many different types. Then I found one that worked - Mag mag with a strange white teet on it - its the 4 month teet. Costs about $14. They dont suck on it rather Chloe tends to bight down on it and thats how she gets her milk. Good luck with the feed-sleep diary
Thinking I might make some rusks as the CHN said I should try Chloe on them
-
Chuckie - oh sweetie - that is very tough ... you must be so desperate for some decent sleep. Ironcially though, I feel worse when I get a longer sleep than when I have shorted ones. Must be used to the shorter ones... but 2 hours or less consistently is a tad too short. I am sorry that you have to do the hard yards with your diet again. Oh and bottles ? We use pigeon with peralstaltic teats and they are the only ones we tried. Luckily Hannah took to them.
Fuzzy - ah... I can understand that, sort of a rock and hard place... making your own rusks? How? I don't always resettle H in the night, as sometimes she just wants to eat, but sometimes she can manage just being settled. I don't really know how I tell the difference. But if you could get her to not feed at 1-2 or 3-4, you'd be getting a better sleep. Enjoy your long weekend and co sleeping....
Hannah is still in our room, maybe that makes it easier to judge? I keep procrastinating about a monitor. She will have to move out of our room and I will need a monitor, but there are so many choices.... Hannah woke up this morning crying in pain, not sure why, maybe wind, or just in the wrong position... I tried to feed her in bed, as I wanted to lie in, but all she wanted to do by then was talk and play. All I did really was wake DH up. Oh well, he needs a turn at this sleep disruption thing. Luckily he's generally pretty good about it. God help him if he wasn't.
We had swimming today and Hannah loved it. Only one in the class this week so lots of one on one but it also means she does more. She seems to really like it and today kept talking for most of the 30 minute lesson.
I am just about to go and check on my little sleep refuser... tired as anything, but not going to sleep this arvo.
-
Omg hair loss - yep big Tim!! I was scared it was cos I dyed my hair but I almost wanted to see a professional about it !!
I spoke to deana a week ish ago and she says hi an sorry she hasn't got on apparently her computer plays up with BB
-
Sorry this is just quick I really want to go to bed and hopefully get some sleep.
I'm losing heaps of hair too.. why oh why could I not keep the lovely hair I had when I was pregnant? It was the best its ever been, now its falling out everywhere.
I was going to start Isaac on solids tomorrow as per the MCHN's advice, but I just don't think he's ready so I'm going to wait. Today he had a morning feed at 8:45am (he woke up at 8), then a feed around lunch time, and then another one at around 5:30 and went to sleep after a top up just after 6. I think if he wasn't satisfied from breastfeeding then he would be feeding much more regularly than that all the time. I think the times he feeds every hour or two there is usually a reason, its either hot or we've done something big like swimming. So no solids tomorrow.
-
Dory - my mum actually said that she always made rusks for us when we were babies. Have had a quick look online for recipes but havent found one I like yet. Will prob end up just buying them. Its so funny reading your posts, I swear Chloe and Hannah must be really similar! We have the angel care monitor with the pads that go under her mattress. To be honest - we only use the monitor once a week when I am at netball and DH is jamming with his mates. I have never used the movement pads (that go under her mattress). I am of the opinion that if I did use the pads that I would worry more than if I didnt use them. I will try a resettle tonight. The power went out last night so I couldnt tell the time when she woke so it was all screwy and a bit of a crap night really.
Buzzie - such cute pics on FB!
Chuckie - how are you going hun? I hope you are getting some more sleep
We had a bit of a milestone today. Chloe sat up by herself for 2 whole minutes! She even leant forward, put her hands out and pushed herself back up. I am going to be happy about this for a short amount of time I can tell as soon she will be crawling and I will be hating it! ha ha.
-
fuzzy we must have been posting at the same time :) I've heard you can make rusks just by drying out bread in the oven, I think on a low temp for a long time.. not sure exactly.
-
Dory- The meds for thyroid are designed to make you put on weight...and since I put on 20+ kilo in harlows pregnancy (After losing 25 kilos just before I had her) I have been avoiding going to the drs because I don't want to go back on the meds!!! I'm working hard to lose that kilos- i don't want to have to work extra extra extra hard!!!
Thatis great Hannah had that good nights sleep, I put my hand on Harlows chest and she settles aswell, kind of like they need that tiny reassurance their Mummies are there or something :D
I feel SO SO much better knowing that practically all of you have had hairloss aswell!!!!
Harlow is sitting up by herself for longer periods now, a couple of minutes (or enough time for me to get back with my stupid long lense on my camera and take some great photos!!), I think she is happier when doing it because it means she is sitting like her big brother! She is also gaining back the strength in her legs, I can't remembe rif I mentione di tbut at her last MCHN I mentioned that she had strong legs then all of a sudden she had really weak legs, couldn't stand up when I put pressure on them...the MCHN said it is because she started rolling that she stopped with her legs, slolwy though she is building it back up and if I grab her hands and pull atiny bit she pushes up to stand and wobbles there for 30 seconds with a proud look on her face before she sits back down and sighs as if to say it is hard work!!
-
Thanks for your comments ladies,
We are slowly having better nights - last night was the first in a long time that we were not up every 2 hours or so just 12:30, 3:30 and 6 so I feel like a new woman today. The regime must be working but I can tell P is in pain during the day and we have had a few screaming sessions (not like her at all!)
Bec - go with your instincts re solids - I just got desperate through lack of sleep and was hoping for a wquick fix but if Isaac seems satisfied then no need to rush (I sometimes forget he is about a month younger than P!
-
Wow oh wow - our babies are growing so fast.... it's so nice to read about the sitting... aren't they just so proud of themselves?
Bec - I am with you, I am still putting it off. Hannah isn't feeding like a mad thing either, so I reckon that she's going ok on just plain old BF for a little while longer. I am now pretty much at the point where she is almost exclusively breast fed, and I am so glad I got to achieve it. She might accept a bottle one feed every 3 days or more.
Chuckie - oh poor wee Pearl... I wonder what the pain is all about? Glad you got some better sleep.
Wite - too cute about Harlow and her wobbly legs... does she have some nice chubba thighs?
Fuzzy - I think I know what you mean about not using the pad.... and playing netball! Awesome. I was getting back into exercise, but then Hannah got a cold and my sleep was cactus and I was exhausted and then I got a cold and my sleep was cactus and I was exhausted. Hopefully back into this week.
AFM - we've had a really great morning and I feel on top of the world. Yay.
-
Chuckie - isn't it fantastic when you get a few hours sleep in a row instead of up every hour or two.. Isaac was doing that for a while (with wind pains etc) and he's just getting back to normal now. Last night he woke at midnight and around 4ish, then up at 7:30 so that was great. Have you figured out what Pearls pain is during the day? Poor bubba.
Wite - how cute Harlow is sitting! Isaac isn't yet, well he is very wobbly when he does. I'm not in a rush for him to do these things yet, I want him to stay my little baby for a while longer lol. Your pics of her on fb are so cute.
dory - Well done on almost exclusive bf, that is an achievement after everything you've been through. Congrats :D I think I'm going to just keep bf and see how Isaac is. He has been going 4 hours between feeds during the night, normal for him, so I suppose when that changes it might be time for solids. Good luck getting back into exercise, I wish I could go regularly. I did go for a run last week while mum watched Isaac and I was so sore the next day!
fuzzy - yay for Chloe sitting! I'm with you on the crawling, that can wait! My house is nowhere near baby proof.
Gotta go and sleep!
-
Dory- Harlow doesn't have nice chubba thighs..the girls got thunder thighs!!! haha, they are ririducloulsy cute, when she sits with her legs out her thighs just turn into dimply thighs...cute on a baby, can't get away with that as an adult!!!!
Bec- I don't want harlow sitting up or moving forward, i am proud that she is but I also get so upset because she is doing it so fast I fel like I am missing out on her being a "baby"..!
-
Wite - and so you should be proud, she is going strong.. but it is scary how fast its all going. Isaac is moving forward too, he's never in the same spot as where I put him down, and he just loves being on his feet. Time is flying.
Had a half awful, half wonderful night. Isaac was so overtired but wouldn't sleep until very late after lots of crying, I had such a bad headache from him crying in my ear but eventually I settled him. But then he only woke at 12 then 3! He fed at 3, then slept until 8 so 5 hours!! and 5 and a half hours between feeds, my boob was about to burst in the end. I know its not very long compared to most babies here but for us it was fantastic.

Buzzie - heya - thanks for updating us on Deana... glad she's ok. Did she say how Blake was going? Is all ok between her and DP? How are you?
Bec - of sweetie - they just seem to save the loudest cries for when they are right next to your ear... sorry you had a rough start to the night, but glad Isaac and you got a better sleep. Too funny about being sore.... I am sore a lot these days, but have to keep at it and after a while I won't be as sore. Thanks for the gee up too, I appreciate it. Too cute about wobbly little Isaac. Glad I am not the only one thinking this is all going by so fast. People tell you that before they're born and in those impossibly hard newborn days it doesn't seem possible does it?
Wite - I am loving the thought of Harlow's thighs. I was thinking about Hannah's yesterday and I wondered why babies don't get stretch marks, cause Hannah's got some serious chub there, she's got solid little thighs and a really really deep crease in her thigh. Nothing on her arms though.
Chuckie - is Pearl still crying in pain during the day?
Fuzzy - How is that mastitis? How is work going?
Belfie - thinking of you.
Off to ring the vet to see how the cat's blood work came back from the BT he had friday. So cute, the vet saw two mummas in a row with baby's in slings. Hannah was much more settled though, which I wasn't expecting. Oh and the vet made it so nice for the cat - she brushed him after she examined him and he loves a brush. Doesn't get nearly enough around here any more.

Hi ladies,
I thought I would break our posting drought!
Just a quick one though while Pearl is sleeping (miracles never cease).
Sorry I didn't explain myself very well - Not sure if you all remember I had a lot of pain from vasospasm for a few months and we finally worked out i needed to adjust my diet (pretty drastically) because P had Cows milk protein intolerance. Well that worked really well so I have been on the strict diet ever since. We then started to have these sleep problems mid Jan and I have been trying all the sleep techniques (including giving her solids) to try to fix them - with no luck - things just got worse! I finally called my LC back (to aks what I could give P to eat to keep her full) and she told me to take her off the food and cut my diet back even further - things improved for a few days but got worse again - so the diet is even more restricted now. The theory is that P has a damaged gut which is being irritated by the foods I was eating as she has food intolerances - this LC was right about everything else so it does not hurt to give it a go and see if she is right about this as well. So her pain is waking her up and stopping her from sleeping for long stretches at night and during the day - will keep you posted.
Belfie - I don't know how you do it with all those allergies - maybe I can get some recipe tips from you - I am off all dairy, yeast, processed foods. I have to eat animal fat with every meal and am limited with the fruit and veg I can have - I am not allowed any raw food at all (not even fruit!) and am limited to drinking camomile and green tea, water or a small amount of white wine (as long as it's from margaret river!) So it is basically meat and vegies for every meal (with canned fruit in between).
I hope everyone else is having a great time with their bubbas!

Chuckie, wow I can't believe how restricted you are-will this be for the whole time you BF Pearl or do you slowly introduce some foods back in so she kidn of builds up a tolerance to them? Poor little bubba having pains, I really hope that her pains ease up and she starts sleeping alot better.
Dory- How is your cat going?

OMG big news here. Chloe the clever girl is sitting up! i.e. goes from tummy, pulls her legs underneath then backwards onto her bum! We are so impressed with her.
Still terrible sleeper though haha
-
OMG Chloe! well done! that is pretty amazing to sit herself that way!! :D
Had to giggle at the chubby legs talk, yep Bellas got mummys thunder thighs lol ash never did so wonder if its a girl thing....
Everythings going fantastic here!! We are waiting to find out in the next couple weeks if we are gonna get a house we want... - 5bed + Office, 2lounges, 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets (lol, dont know why they needed 3 but hey...) and lots of space for the kids! So fingers crossed, there lease finishes in july as does mine here so im hoping thats a sign lol We wanted to buy a place in a couple yrs but figure if we cant afford it, this one is big enough for more babies! WOOT! :D
OMG and sooooo much talk about weddings and things here! DP is getting soo mushy atm, ive never seen him like it EVER! so hoping things are severly improving from where we have come! Im still really angry he has stuffed up both my babies births with his behaviour so trying to get past that and only hope next bubba will be as close to perfect pending nothing goes wrong with my bub for third time attempt!
sorry to hear about the unwell girls and with food issues! so hope things sort themselves out! i couldnt imagine anything worse and worring about/trying to look after little bubbas at the same time!
hope u all had a lovely long weekend :D

Quick one for me, have been a bit slack on BB lately.
Chuckie - i do want to get back to you re recipes, hopefully in the next day or so. Food restrictions are SUCH a PITA! I hear you. Hope it's all helping.
As for us... ah it's so dumb it's hysterical - DH has done his back again. Vertigo was FINALLY improving. He did his back really badly when Xander was this age, and couldn't lift ANYTHING for 6 weeks... like seriously I just couldn't leave him with Xander at all. So we're praying (even though we're not religious!) that it's not as bad this time. I feel optimistic it isn't. He has really learnt how to manage his back over the last few years and tries to walk every day to keep it in ok shape. Problem is he's gained weight with the vertigo which doesn't help :wall:. Otherwise Anni Shae is going great, nearly sitting and I tried her on some sticks of watermelon (instead of the spoon stuff) and she was waaaaay more interested. Woo hoo, I really want to do BLS with her. She's still sleeping like a trooper and feeding insanely quickly - total time on the boob yesterday was 33 mins! In 24 hours! Crazy.
Can't believe she's 6mths in a few days, it goes so quick. I've decided it's time for mumma to hotten up so I'm on the weight loss wagon - 10kg to go, I really want to get ME back! And even DH's back ain't gonna stop me! Oddly enough cos he's been crook for so long I think I'm used to it now and finding it much easier to cope with. Just keeps me busy mostly.
Sorry no time for persies need to sort out the kitchen but I am reading & love hearing what you're all up to. The kiddies are all so gorgeous - I love seeing their pics on FB :)
