oh I meant to say about the list.. wow I only just realised there are 10 girls and only 4 boys! And Isaac is the baby of the group. I don't know why but I had in my mind that Harlow was the last to be born. Buzzie you can add Isaacs middle name, I don't know if I've ever mentioned it here but it's Elias. Rhymes with Elliott. And no I didn't make it up, it's a very popular name in Tanzania and I know a couple of gorgeous little boys called Elias, as well as some in their 20's. It took me ages to decide on it, I think maybe 2 or 3 weeks. I chose it because it reminds me of Africa, and the beautiful people I know in the village I lived in. So I called my baby Isaac Elias :D
-
That's a lovely name Bec. There's so many girls!! I hadn't realised that either. Thanks for doing the list Buzzie
-
Bec - the poos wont really change if you're only giving him rice cereal. If anything, that makes them a little constipated which is why they suggest adding a fruit after a few days to help the pooing process :) We didnt see any poosplosions until he started eating all different types of vegies and then meat. Even now, his pooing pattern hasnt changed too much. He was always a 3-4 poos a day man and he still is. He must have a very quick metabolism like me.
Btw, Elias is actually a pretty common now amongst Greeks - very nice :)
-
Belfie - Chloe starts at ABC in Alfred Cove near us on April 13th. OMG that is so close now.
Bec - black and pink please, i.e. one of each.
Buzzie - awesome work on the list! Good luck with your appts.. Wow between you, me and Belfie we girls are certainly doing it tough with our bodies at the moment!
Poos - OMG Chloe's are actual adult-like nuggets now haha. 1 per day, occasionally two. Rice cereal can make them constipated if too much is given without something else, e.g. fruit. Doesnt sound like you have given him too much though Bec
-
Fuzzy - love the new pic of Chloe sitting up... clever munchin. 13 April is not far away.... It will be hard at first, but then you'll both get into the swing of it all. I looked at a day care yesterday for when I go back to work. Will look at a few more before I decide.
Bec - I like Isaacs second name, and it has some sentimental meaning for you too. Hannah has become more regular with her poo since starting rice cereal. We're at once a day, and the consistency is paste like. I don't give her much of anything else. Have tried potato... she didn't like that, but will offer it again in a week or so. Today we started pumpkin and it went down better than potato. In a few days will try some fruit. We're still on once a day solids here - have been doing it for just over a week. So early days. Maybe offer him some cooled boiled water in a sippy cup or normal cup? I have started this too, but Hannah doesn't really get the hang of it yet.
Buzzie - good work on the list! Thanks for taking the time to do it. GL with your app, hopefully it's not endo back again.
AFU - really tough day here. Hannah has just gone down for a sleep, well at 4.30pm... the first decent one of the day after waking up at 6am. She did sneak in 30 mins at 9.30am. Not sure what's going on. She's just unsettled and crying a lot, but maybe that's because she's now so tired? Doesn't seem to be wind. She's pulling at her ears, so maybe teeth or just water in her ear. Whatever it is she's been out of sorts all day. Poor wee blossom. Hard for me too, but I am proud of how I've coped. Though I do want to improve on my negative talk. I don't do it near Hannah, but I do sometimes swear in frustration. It's so unecessary and so crass and when she is a toddler she could be anywhere and hear it. So I am going to work on changing that aspect of my coping.
-
Oh poor little Hannah. You ARE doing a great job Dory. You always make me feel better too :)
-
Thanks Fuzzy - she's been so much better since... just have to remember to repeat the mantra like Bec says, this baby needs to feel loved, safe and protected.
-
thanks for reminding me of that mantra Dory, I needed to remember that last week. I think Isaac has just been through a wonder week last week. The change in him has been huge this week, and today was just perfect I wish every day was like today. Big contrast to last week he was just so unsettled and it was awful and I ended up having a bit of a meltdown the other day. I was expecting a wonder week next week (week 26) but it's pretty clear to me that he has had it early. I've heard this happens when a baby is overdue, they go through the wonder weeks earlier than normal. Or so I've heard, I'll let you know next week if he has a horror week again, but he is showing all the signs of having gone through it already - better coordination, perception of distance, clinginess etc.
I'm still giving Isaac just rice cereal once a day. Might change it to twice a day soon with cereal in the morning and veg in the evening.
Sleeping has been so much better this week. I'm just amazed how he has developed his own pattern, it's like clockwork.. up at 7-8ish, play while I have breakfast, then a feed, and he is up for pretty much exactly an hour before he wants to sleep (for 1.5 hours), up for 2 hours, sleep 2-2.5 hours, up again and a nap before bath, feed, stories and bed. Then he's asleep for the night before 7, apart from waking for feeds as usual but he doesn't stay up, just falls asleep feeding which is awesome.
He has been doing a funny thing lately, it's hilarious. He grabs my face or neck, opens his mouth really wide and plants it on my cheek or chin.. I don't know if he is trying to copy me kissing him (I kiss him about a thousand times a day!), or if he is trying to put me in his mouth like everything else he can get hold of
Sorry for the me post, I'll try to catch up with persies tomorrow. I hope you are all well :)
-
Bec - bella does that to lol I have several hickies under my chin cos I always let her suck its cos it's so cute lol it's a normal baby thing cos every baby will put anything in their mouths lol
But it is beautiful!!
Hi everyone hope u all had a lovely weekend! So excited counting down till I get my new car on Saturday, finally!! One I can actually put my doulbe pram in!! Yay paid so much for it and could hardly use it!
Can't believe it's APRIL this week!! This year is flying and it's our bubba first Easter awww lol we are trying to go camping but who knows with melbournes weather! Anyone else doing anything??
-
ok question about solids again, Bella had her 6month health check yesterday and the midwife said she can have more fruits and meats (pending she wont choke) and pasta,.... is anyone doing meats and pasta yet???? i think meat is a little early as im only doing solids slowly and still introducing some veggies, how would you give pasta? blend it with something... but what? mince.... im not an adventerous cook but cant imagine what to put with it as i dont want to introduce tomato based sauces yet.... any ideas?
-
Just a short message before I go off to start baking!
Harlows going off her bottles..help! Normally she has a 200ml in the morning then two 150mls during the day & a 200ml before bed and finished a majority of them (I tried givng her 200mls in the other 2 bottles and she'd never finish it) and now shes only drinking 100ml in the morning, then about 250mls during the day and 100ml at night..for the past few days..Would this be teething related? She's had nappy rash and she is chewing on her hands alot...Jett NEVER went off bottles so I am not sure if I should be concerned or not..she had fruit & cereal for morning tea & vegies for dinner but even this morning when she usually sculls a 200ml shge would only drink 100ml...It is FRUSTRATING and part of me worries she just isn't getting enough fluids into her...Just after your opinions-she is happy and sleeping fine, just flat out refusing to finish bottles...
-
A couple of options... either cut back the amount of solids she is having, but if it's not really that much... she may be ready to drop a bottle? So she will still drink the same quantity but in fewer bottles. OR she is just going through a patch where she isnt as hungry?
If she was really hungry she wouldnt be sleeping as well, or would be upset, so I wouldnt think there is any issue there.
-
Buzzie - I started George on meats at 6 months. The easiest one to start on is chicken. I just steam it and then blend it and mix it in with the vegies. I havent done pasta yet, but I have done rice... I just boiled it HEAPS, then put in in the blender as well with vegies.
I have found that once I saw he wasnt really having reactions to vegies, I would introduce a new one for 2 days rather than 4 days... I just felt like a new vegie every 4 days meant it would take forever to get through them all!!
I have a recommended list from my paed re: ages and foods...
Food Month Preparation
Apple 4 Cooked Puree
Carrot 4 Cooked Puree
Pear 4 Cooked Puree
Potato 4 Cooked Puree
Pumpkin 4 Cooked Puree
Rice Cereal 4 With Formula

Sorry, also forgot to add... keep in mind that what seems bland to us, is not to our bubs because they dont know any better and havent tasted anything else. So dont worry about sauces and stuff yet. Keep it all really simple.
-
Bec - glad this week is better for Isaac.... and you. We have a mixture here at the mo. Too cute about the hickies. It's ok to have a melt down... don't be hard on yourself about it. It's normal and even more so when you're solo. Don't underestimate how hard it is. But what it does say to me, is you need to make sure you are able to have some time to yourself. Is there something special you like to do that you can do and your mum can take Isaac for an hour or so?
Hannah did something pretty amazng today. We were all lying in bed and I said "where's daddy?" and instead of looking towards me she turned her head and looked at daddy. And just to make sure it wasn't a coincidence we did it again and again and then also when we were out of bed. OMG. I am just amazed.
Wite - Hannah has been a bit the same with BF'ing latley. Just taking a lot less ( she usually takes both sides and lately has only been taking one for a lot shorter time). She's sleeping well, and otherwise seems bright and cheery ( well except when she's tired), so I am not too worried. You can't force her to take the bottles and the more stressed you get, she will notice. So just go with it.
Buzzie - no tips here. But what Connie's said makes a lot of sense, as usual.
We're still on our first tastes and are two weeks in, and will bump up to two meals in a day next week... so far tried potato, punpkin, and today brocoli. Hannah gulps down her rice cereal but spits out everything else. Pumpkin a little less than the others. Next on the list is zucchini then sweet potato. I offer the new foods towards the end of the rice cereal.... as if I offer them too early in the meal she refuses to eat anymore, and a nice spoon or two of rice cereal is a nice way to end a meal.
LOL - Hannah did the biggest poo that woke her up from her sleep. It was massive. Hopefully that means the stinky farts will disappear for a while.
Fuzzy - how are you going? Any more news on whether it's graves? I am going to get Hannah a mag mag sippy cup like you have for Chloe. I bought a different one and it's just not working out so far.
Hug those littles ones, they are too precious by far.
-
OMG Chloe has been crying for 45 mins and I cant get her to settle or sleep. She has learnt to sit up easily but sits up in her cot and then gets stuck and cries and cries. If I go in to lie her down she just loses the plot even more when I leave. What do I do? Leave her??
-
If she's been crying for 45 minutes I would get her up and try to calm her down a bit. She is probably so worked up and overtired now that she wont be able to settle down. Just get her up and calm her down for a bit.
What time is her next feed?
-
Next nap you could try tucking her in with a bedsheet. Sometimes they get overtired cos they're so busy practicing a new skill like rolling or sitting then don't sleep. Also isit teeth? Have u tried some sm33, it works instantly.
-
Fuzzy - H does that a LOT... I do the following cause it's clear that she's not going to go to sleep, but it is hard to draw the line as to when to stop trying:-
wash her face with a damp washer and
talk soothingly too her (and for my benefi); and
change her nappy ( just in case); and
quick feed cause all that crying is thirsty work; and
pick her up and do some quiet activities - rocking, singing, laying down and reading and if she's still freaked out?
get out of the house cause it all seems too much in those 4 walls - so a walk or a trip to the shops - Chloe might still be fractious but at least you're distracted.
Hope you get through ok.
belfie - good idea - I just looked at some of your 365 project photos - OMG A & X are so cute, and I love the photo of her on the change table.... too cute by far.
-
Belfie - whats sm33?
Thanks guys, just quickly as she is just waking up.. ending up giving up and getting her up. She had an appt to get her 6 month shots so I just left early and drove around for about 15 mins. She slept straight away.
Will catch up on posts in a bit
xx
-
Teething gel. I'd always used bonjela, but my sleep consultant aka goddess told me that SM33 is instant where Bonjela is not.
hope to bbl with persies too.
Dory - thanks so much! Call me biased but I think they are so adorable, and as for that pic...lol well clearly it's the rolls actually keeping her upright! mwahahahaha
-
Thanks girls. I tried giving her less solids and she still didn't want a bar of her bottle..yesterday she drank about 400mls all day when usually it is double that. She IS sleeping right through and she IS happy and her bowel movements are fine & she is still having wet nappies so I'll try stress less about it. Gosh it is funny that even as a second time mum-some things are still so new to me!
Belfie-where do we get SM33 from?
-
Sm33 should be at most bigger pharmacies
-
Buzzie - the food info I have says that meats should be introduced when finger foods are started from 8-12 months. Remember they don't need the nutrition from food at the moment, it's all about tastes and textures, they are getting most of the nutrition they need from milk until 12 months (I always remember the saying 'food is fun unitl they're one'). But then it's all up to you really, and what you want to do.
thanks Dory. Mum took Isaac for the afternoon yesterday, then brought him back at 5 and bathed and fed him some rice cereal for me which gave me a break.
fuzzy - oh no poor Chloe, did you find out what was wrong with her in the end?
Hi to everyone else! I've got lot's to do so I better go and get started.
-
Hi ladies,
Fuzzy - P has been doing that sort of thing a lot lately and I just get her up if she is still going after about half an hour and all the usual techniques have not worked - she did it again this morn so we just went for a walk and got the mail - when we got back (about 45min later) she went to sleep without a problem.
Buzzie - the nurse here was talking about making a meat stock from scratch to add to vegies, grating frozen steak or using mince - all from 7 months. She also talked about pasta - if you cooked it really well you should be able to blend it up.
Wite - sounds like Harlow is doing just fine and dandy - sleeping through is like a dream in this house!!! I reckon some days they are just hungrier than others.
P is asleep and will prob only be down for 40mins so I have to make this quick, Not much to report - last night was a good night thank goodness - we were only up twice between 11:30pm and 6:30am so I was able to get some sleep. My LC now says I can't drink the water from the tap!! Have to stick to the tank water (which I basically do anyway but we were away last week for a few days so drank the water from the tap there!) Still on my super strict diet and having more bad nights than good. We were up every 40mins the night B4 last :omg: Hopefully last night was a sign of things to come.
-
Chuckie - I hope Pearl's sleep settles down soon for you.... hugs for having such a tough journey.... LOL re the tank water, if I drink it it gives me upset tum. You are doing so well.
Bec - glad you got a break. Even though we love them to bits, sometimes we both need a break from each other.
Wite - It's absolutely reassuring to me that you've got questions....
AFU - well vaccination day today.... the clinic nurses blew some bubbles for H and whilst she still squealed, it did help settle her quite quickly, and so far so good.... FX crossed.... though she's not going for a nap this arvo, but she doesn't normally go to sleep at this time of day anyway.
The other exciting news is that I got to see and hold briefly, a 1 day old new born today... OMG so tiny, so red, eyes so closed, so sleepy... 8 pounds born... and a cone head as he had to be vacuumed out. His mum had a tough time of it and is rather sore, and said she pretty much vomited green stuff most of the labour. Poor thing. Has anyone else done that?
-
Dory - green stuff? Not me. But same goes here - i visited a friend in hossie and got to hold her new bub. 6 pounds 14 girl. So cute. She had an amazing labour - 3 hours from waters breaking to delivery with only 3 contractions :o. Oh how I wish that was me!! Hope HB goes ok with her shots
Going ok here. Well kind of. I am snuffly, Chloe is snuffly. She has only slept a total of 1.5 hours today and was up every 3 hours last night. Had her shots on Monday so it might be related. I am exhausted. I saw the endocrinologist and he doesnt think I have graves disease. YES!!! but had another blood test just to be sure. If I dont hear from him I guess its just pospartum thyroiditis and it will clear by itself with time.
-
Fuzzy - that was what I was thinking it might be.... yay for no graves....that is such a good initial opinion, and the endo wouldn't have given it if they thought they were wrong... and glad you got some new born cuddles.
Sorry that Chloe had such a bad day.... it is so hard. Hope you have a better night tonight and it's always so hard when you're sick and tired. Hugs.
Hannah so far, has been the best she's ever been, after her shots, but I keep waiting for it all to change.
-
Thanks Dory. Night ended up being ok after a bad start - she woke first at 9:30 pm and I was thinking it was going to be a shocker. But then she woke at 2:30 and 5 then 7. Not too bad for Chloe haha
Belfie - forgot to say thanks for the advice on teething gel - I will get some.
Bec - you are quiet... i guess that means you got your material and are busy making things!
Edit: Guys I am still getting the baby bonus payments... Is this correct?? Thought it should have stopped by now.
-
fuzzy - mine just stopped last fortnight, so I would think that you still have quite a few to go. You get 13 all up.
My sister-in-law had her babies yesterday! Twin boys!! 10 weeks early and they are doing sooo well, all the same issues that George had and obviously a lot smaller, but doing great! Chrys and Nicholas - needless to say, my brother and SIL are so thrilled, after 7 years of IVF, they have 2 precious boys.
-
Bec - hope your stall went well at the markets.
Fuzzy - love the new pic of Chloe and glad the night was ok.
Connie - yay for your SIL and bro- two precious little boys and such cute names. Well done to them!
-
Hi girls!
Hope your all well!
Just a few quick updates: Harlows drinking a bit more now, she is finishing most of her bottles- I suspect she is teething because today she has been pushing out her tongue over her gums constantly, she is happy so far so fingers crossed she stays that way (When my son teethed, he was a happy teether, constantly smiling and giggling in the middle of the night, god I hope harlow is the same, I enjoy my sleep far too much!!!)
I have been a bit...meh. Some of you may have read a couple of weeks ago now that I had bloodtests and the dr sent me a letter to come into the surgery ASAP (They didn't have my correct phone number to contact me)..turns out my thyroids highly overactive again (By high-they mean three times higher than what it should be) so I am back on medication..I also spoke to the Dr about going back on some anti-depressants for my Anxiety, I just want my life back- I'm sick of being so housebound because my anxiety stops me going places. i started my thyroid tablets last week and so far feel a tiny bit better, I will start the ones for Anxiety soon.
Harlow is going fine, she is sitting up by herself, she is up on all fours rocking back and forth constantly. part of me is so excited that she is doing this and close too crawling, but a huge part of me gets so upset because I know she is going to be my last baby & I just feel like I have completly missed those "newborn" days and that she is growing up way too quickly!
Bec- Hope you had some great success at the markets today!
Connie-How exciting re: the twins, what gorgeous names and double the blessing after all those years of trying aswell is so fantastic!
Fuzzy- my Baby bonus payments only stopped this week. Centrelink *should* send you a letter to let you know when your payments will return too normal, if not maybe check the first date you started receiving them and count foreward 13 fortnights so you know when they will end :)
Hello to all all the other Mums & Bubs..I have made myself completly sick by eating icing fro mthe bowl while making cupcakes so I think it might be bedtime for me!! nite all xox
-
wite - Haha I was wondering who is eating all these cupcakes you are baking! Lol
I think that's a great idea that you find away to manage the anxiety... being housebound sucks!
Bec - How did you go at the market?
George is getting up on all 4's but then he just slides back down, so we're not quite at the crawling stage yet! Just moving backwards at the moment.
Also, the other day he kept trying to grab my pump bottle of water to drink from, so I decided to try something different. Sippy cups havent been working because he cant understand that he needs to tip the cup up to get water out. I bought him a straw cup, and he loves it. He grabs it himself and sucks on the straw. I'm so proud! The only problem is that he is a little uncoordinated, so he throws it away when he is done with it. Haha
Oh and I forgot... George has become perfect at sleeping. When I put him down to bed, he doesnt cry anymore. He either goes to sleep right away or just lays there and does raspberries till he falls asleep. BUT the pram is a different story. He wont sleep in the pram, so taking him out anywhere is becoming a nightmare! I have no idea what to do. I have tried laying the pram right down, putting a blanket over it... nothing. I wonder if its because he sleeps on his tummy in bed and cant do that in the pram?
He is staying over at my mum's this weekend, so it'll be interesting to see if he sleeps in the cot there ok.
-
Wow - all these babies doing such wonderful stuff....
Wite - sorry to hear your thyroid is playing up but hopefully the meds help you feel more than a bit better soon..... and sorry your anxiety is keeping you housebound. It is so hard to be housebound, whatever the reason. I hope Harlow is a happy teether too. I love that she is up on all fours. I very much understand feeling like you've missed the new born days...
Connie - awesome news about George. And good lateral thinking about the straw cup. I hope he goes well at your mums.... Hannah since her vaccinations last week has been a sleep refuser, unless she has lots of assistance, and cries and cries. Not sure what's going on. But she just went for a morning nap without too much fuss. So hopefully it's just a wonky period following her vaccinations.
Bec - hope the markets went well.
Buzzy - you must be moving house soon?
Hannah isn't crawling or up on all fours. She sits mostly unsupported but topples over sometimes. Mostly though she prefers to stand and stands happily leaning on the lounge or supported by one of us. Lots of buckling at the knees and toppling over, but OMG the look of pure joy on her face when she's standing and waving her arms around... it's addictive to watch.
I got to enjoy some newborn cuddles yesterday.... OMG so tiny! He was 8 pounds born, so about 3.6 kgs but that's still 900g less than Hannah was. Now she's over 8.25kg. Poor wee man, I had to keep remembering that I didn't need to heft him as much as Hannah. Felt like I was going to launch him over my shoulder. Hannah was completely fascinated by him and particularly when he cried. Anyway, it was nice. Nice to know that Hannah isn't at that stage ( but sort of sad too?), nice to know I was confident with him, and nice to know I do want another one!
Oh the other good news? Hannah seems to be over her stranger aversion! She went quite happily to my aunt yesterday and they even went outside to the garden while I washed up and Hannah was contented. Phew - hope that lasts.
-
Hi everyone, I've been a bit quiet here lately. I have just been so busy preparing for the market. Thanks for asking how it went, it was a great day. Not many sales but it was so nice to sit out on the grass under a tree for the morning. Isaac was perfect, just happy sitting on a kanga (bit of African material, that's where I got Kanga Creative from, not from kangaroos haha), and having some tummy time. He fell asleep at one stage so I put him in his pram snuggle in the pram and parked him near the table. He was a good demo model! I sold only one pram snuggle but I had lots of people looking and saying how great they are and gave my details to a few people. I think they'd go better at a baby and kids market so might think about a trip to Adelaide one day. I sold lots of bibs though, they were a big hit :)
Fuzzy and Wite, could you please send me your email addresses? I am about to make your pram snuggles and I'll send you details once they are finished.
Isaac has been so perfect in this last week, very contented and settled. He has been going really well at swimming, kicking and wriggling like a little fish but has been opening his eyes under water so I got him some goggles. I tried them out in the shower, and omg he looks so funny. I'll put a pic of him on my 365 project for today. He's asleep now so I should go and clean the bombsite that is my house then do some sewing.
I hope everyone is well :)
-
I've been slack posting but have been reading.
bec - that's awesome re the market, I reckon the bibs look lovely!
Dory - congrats Mrs Moderator!! you're gonna be awesome
AFM sick as a dog. Had a fever on & off all last week and a foul cough. Missie has the cough too so we've both ended up on antibiotics. Am attempting to take it easier, which is easier said than done lol! Can't sleep at all at present cos I just cannot stop coughing, it's worse than having a newborn arrrgh. On the bright side, Annika hasn't been too unwell with it thank goodness, a bit more unsettled than usual here & there. DH is starting to show a little improvement again (yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay effing yay), so we're hopeful the medication will kick back in soon.
-
Dory - oh wow congrats on being a moderator! Well done, you'll be great.
Belfie - OMG I love your new pic of Annika, she looks like a little doll!! Stunning shot! Hope you are feeling better, strong fresh ginger tea might help :(
-
Thanks Bec - I put it up for my 365 here, I love it too (I reckon cos she's lying flat, the fat has fallen away from her face a bit hahahaha looks better). I shall have to get ginger. Am currently doing garlic, horseradish, zinc & vit c... :crossfingers:
-
Belfie - What a bugger - like you have time to be sick on top of everything else!!! Thank goodness your DH is improving! Next time you buy vit c make sure it is the one with as much calcium ascorbate as poss (I always get 1000mg per tab) and bioflavanoids as they help your body digest the vit c. Have heaps - like about 10,000mg a day (unless you get the runs then you have eaten too much!)
Bec - love the pic of Isaac in his goggles - We are still just throwing water on P's head in the bath - need to move to the next stage but there are no baby swimming lessons here!
Dory - I find P is a lot less fussy with stangers if I leave the room (also if she can't hear me) it's almost like out of sight, out of mind. Sounds like she loves being on her feet - does she go in the jolly jumper much?
Connie - sounds like a dream with George sleeping so well - if you can just crack the pram thing he will be perfect!
AFM - still battling sleep probs here and my LC finally threw up her hands the other day and said she did not think that my diet was the problem. I had a hunch and gave P some gaviscon that night and every night since (3 nights now) and she went from being up every hour, to every 2 and last night she was only up every 2.5hrs!!! Can't believe it! Am v cautious because I don't want to get to excited but am hoping she has just had silent reflux all this time and we may have found the answer - still only sleeping for 40mins at a time during the day and usually only 2 day sleeps. I have the local chold nurse booked in for day service on MOnday and have put my name on the waiting list for the State's sleep centre in Adelaide - FX I will have solved the prob and can cancel before I need to go. Goota go lie down while P is asleep!
-
Chuckie - wow some improvement is awesome.... poor wee Pearl and possibly having silent reflux.... can your GP help with that? Hope you get into the sleep clinic... I learn more about sleep all the time, but after the past week was going to book in for sleep school. Luckily things have settled down here again. I think you are just so awesome doing everything you have tried to do for Pearl .... that is just such dedication and Pearl is so lucky to have you as her mummy.
Well here's the thing, I don't have a Jolly Jumper.... yet. Going to get one when I get paid this week. The paediatrician we see said he thinks they are great for kids. I can't wait. Was always jealous of Isaac 's bouncing sessions.
Here are a few tips for swimming - taken from our swim class homework sheet - do what you do with the water over her head, but when you pour it over her face do it quickly - she can't hold her breath for very long, take Pearl into the shower with you and get her used to the water falling over her head and body, lay her on her back in the bath so that her head and ears are in the water, make sure you maintain eye contact with her and obviously support her, and encourage her to learn to float on her back. And lots of praise and encouragement during all of these activities. You can always take her to the pool yourself.
AFM - I did some reading on weaning today.... :( but yay as it might mean I start to ovulate again. One of the books I read says weaning is best done over several months, as that way it is least disruptive to baby and boobies. I just hadn't really ever thought about when and how bf'ing might stop..... but will talk to DH about it and see what he has to say. He is always so good at thinking about things without the guilt. I don't want to stop yet, so I won't, but I wanted to start thinking about how it might happen and when, cause it's not like someone waves their magic wand.
Bec - your day at the markets sounds great! Isaac is a champ! The pic of him in his goggles is just too cute.
Belfie -the new pic of Miss A is gorgeous... too funny about laying down making the chubba disappear.
