I hope we didn't make you feel bad about the popcorn MD. I remember you were really worried about the choking issue.
The injections have to be in the stomach unfortunately. I had a lightbulb moment about the emla cream at 4am LOL. He was going into town today so he is going to get some. It took the poor bugger half an hour to prepare himself for it this morning, but today it felt a bit better than last night apparently.
-
MD - we dont really do popcorn either. bizarrely, on the weekend 2 diff friends were giving popcorn (more at J's age or younger) and i also wondered if i am totally paranoid. i am thinking we will soon give it to N. so you arent the only crazy paranoid one out there!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Awww Trill, half an hour to warm up to it hehehe, poor thing. The emla cream should help!! Glad you didnt ignore it though. Yes I have the little heater set up next to my chair for feeding. Still, her hands are like ice (though the rest of her is warm) and she loves to massage her hands around on my chest as she feeds, brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
I dont think to make popcorn much. Bad mum. lol! Might actually get some today while at the shops because M does love it. While I'm at it better whip up some playdough too!!
Arte - DOnt feel bad about the phenergan. I can imagine how frustrated and tired you would have been, especially being pregnant. All you want to do is put the kids to bed and relax.
Ginger - Just saw your pics on fb, how cool!! I searched the suburb where you live and asked DH if we can move there hahahaha. He reckons its like 2 hours out of Melb, is that right? How do you get to country road!!!??? hahahahaha!
-
Far out it's cold. I am not enjoying going out to site each morning. At least there is no snow, but there was a fair amount of frost this morning. Sounds like we need to send some of our weather across the Tasman Arte!
Trill - I don't have a needle phobia, but I'm not sure I could inject anyone. Certainly don't envy you!! Hope he feels better quickly.
Can you do popcorn in the microwave without doing a whole bag? It just makes too much.
-
Cally, just buy a popcorn maker. You can get a no-brand cheapy for under $20. Then you can make a suitable amount and it isn't coated in artificial butter.
Trill, that brings back the fond memories of giving myself 4 injections a day when I had GD. I was o.k doing myself but I couldn't do DH - he is needle phobic too.
-
Cally, I used to buy the mini bag boxes of popcorn. Uncle Toby's does them as well as Greens I think it is? You get 5 small bags instead of 3 big ones and they did a 'just right' amount for A and I to share. Then I pinched Mum's popcorn maker so I haven't brought it in a while.
-
Oh trill sorry to hear about dh. I would be no good at giving the injections. That cream should help things though. Hope he feels better soon.
I think J's bad sleep could have been caused by me putting the vapouriser on. I thought it would help him but it seemed to make him worse. I left it off last night and he slept much better.
ISA- you are a crack up! I would love you to move here lol it is about 1 hour to the cbd of melb but there are 2 big shopping centers about 20 mins drive from here. Knox has a country road store thank god! It is very pretty here, it has a very European feel to it.
Well as you could prob all see from fb we had snow this am. L's kinder was covered and was very exciting for the kids to see.
-
20 mins to CR, thats manageable :) I would move in an instant for a change and to escape never ending family drama hehe
I just made popcorn!! Didnt realise how easy it is. I did it the old fashioned way. Bought the popping corn and did it on the stove. That being said a popcorn maker would be great!
-
Try to talk dh into it lol you would love it here!
-
Ginger, snow is exciting! We haven't had first snow here yet, but I am assuming the weather will go to **** in a couple of weeks when DH is away lol
W wrote his name for the first time today. He writes right to left though. He also wrote dad.
-
Did he write his full name? Wow that is impressive.
Took L for hid 3.5 y check up today and he is completely off the chart in height and weight. He wants to be a doctor but I'm trying to talk him into an afl career ;)
-
Hahaha thats funny Ginger, or maybe even a basketball player with his height!!! Nah, footy players earn more in Aus hehehe. I am always preaching to M that she will make me proud if she becomes a doctor...jk of course :) DH loves his job too much to leave, though he is often in Melb for work.
Arte that is impressive!! W is such a smart kid.
I just bought an amber teething necklace, exciting, interesting to see if it works.
-
Wow G, L must be massive! W is slightly under average. He looked tiny at kindy when he first started but a couple of smaller kids have started so he looks a bit more in proportion now. Now that I think of it he must not look too small because everyone keeps asking me when he is starting school and seem surprised when I say he isn't even 4 yet.
Yip, he wrote his whole name. He has been able to spell, read and type it and a few other words for ages but he won't attempt anything unless he knows he can do it right iykwim so he must feel confident enough in his letter writing to do it in front of me now.
Another 3am start to the day. Just awake and not tired. Do you think that it means anything that 3 out of the 4 times it has happened at home in the last 6 weeks it has been a Wednesday night? Might have to start a food diary for him.
-
Arte - have you tried to make him stay in bed and read books for those early starts? K sometimes wakes in the middle of the night and insists that she is not tired, but if I just give her a heap of books (and the hallway light on) I don't hear from her again - no idea how long it takes her to crash.
Trill - mini bags of popcorn, will have to keep an eye out. Finding the space for a popcorn maker is probably an issue in our kitchen though.
-
Cally, he won't stay in his room by himself once he is awake. I put the telly on and go back to bed but he usually comes in every half hour and asks if it is time for me to get up yet. I have tried to make him stay in bed and go back to sleep but that just ended up in several hours of tantrum.
Oddly enough, on the days after he has been up for half of the night he is noticeably better behaved!
Looks like the interest in anatomy has been dumped for volcano's instead. Not a strong point of mine - now youtube-ing plate tectonics to learn enough so I can explain it to him lol
-
do you reckon he could look at like a luminated digital clock and learn to only come in and get you up at a certain time? like, if the clock says 5:00 then he can get up? mebbe?
-
You can get special clocks where an image or something lights up and they can't get up before that. I saw them at bonito baby online
-
He would understand the theory, but really what would he do in his room for hours? He wouldn't just lay in bed for hours waiting iykwim.
I suspect we just have to wait until he outgrows it or learns to read so he can entertain himself. I am just a bit over it. I must look so terrible that random mums at kindy that I barely know or talk to have offered to look after the kids so I can have a nap!
