i do think about it a lot LOL
then i start having doubts and wonder if its the right thing to do. i just met up with L's BFF at the park and they are so close and his mum started talking about how good it will be when they're at school together :(
and the last few days i have been relying on my dad heaps for help, and it will be really hard to lose that support.
......but then i think about the boys having the beach so close and how much they love it gggrrrr
-
there are beaches in melbourne you know....
or mornington peninsula /great ocean rd = closer to your dad
-
yeah but its too far for dh to drive to his current work from there..
and its very busy/expensive...and the water is cold!!!
-
Ginger, the thing is, this is not a decision that you need to make today. You've got the benefit of sleeping on it for a few weeks. In the meantime, any improvements you make to your home will only help to lift your spirits and improve its sale value for whenever. There's nothing to lose and plenty of time to work out if this is what you really want. I bet you can squeeze another couple of holidays in between now and then, you know, for "research" ;).
-
Thanks Md. Yes we are planning on going there for a visit over Easter to see how we like it in a colder month and quieter time period iykwim? I am still keen to do it, I am interested to see how dh feels after talking face to face with his brother.
-
G, If you go at Easter I think you will be pleasantly surprised. The water is still warm enough for swimming right through april as all the warmer currents from the north have moved down the coast. We only ever go on holidays during the easter holidays and we always go to the coast and it's a gorgeous time of year to be there and even better that it's not overrun with loads of people. Fingers crossed the meeting with your BIL gets the ball rolling on this. I agree with MD, it's not a decision that needs to be made now and you said yourself that it wil take till at least spring to even consider selling the house so you have loads of time to be sure that it's the right thing.
Cass, having the wrong travel plans/preparation is one of my biggest fears. I would have been hyperventilating at the thought of the visas not being done yet! But I can't believe that it has come around so quickly. THis time next week you will be there! So what will the time difference be so we know when to expect you online ;)
L had a fishing clinic today down at the State Fisheries place. It was only $40 for the bus, all day fishing and a BBQ lunch and they came home with $120 worth of gear! He got a Shimano fishing rod, fancy lure and a tackle set as well as a hat and t-shirt. He's stoked at the freebies. He even caught two Yellow Belly fish too. The organiser is going to email through some pics next week which is great.
E had a dentist appointment to pull out some of her baby teeth to make room for the adult teeth and hopefully make her look not so much like a hillbilly with crooked teeth and he ended up taking out 6! THe original plan was to only take out 4, but he decided to take an extra two out down the bottom as the adult teeth were just starting to push thm up. Poor kid had to have 8 injections through her whole mouth as the teeth were on both sides and in the upper and lower jaw. The anaesthetic is just starting to wear off now, but I gave her some nurofen about an hour ago so she doesn't have to deal with too much pain just yet. The biggest challenge will be making sure that she doesn't loose the blot clot from the sockets as they are quite shallow. She held up better than I thought she would. The Dr and I agreed to do them all at once because I knew I'd have buckleys and none of getting her to go back for another go if we only did half of them! I have promised her a banana smoothy for tea though which she is looking forward to.
Also got L and E measured for some custom orthotics for their shoes too. Poor kids copped all the problems LOL. It's going to be a huge few months $$ wise for us with all of this and with P's ENT appt as well. And that's not even going into the back to school costs as well! It just seems never ending atm. I'm cringing at the thought of DH doing the BAS's and telling me how much personal expenses we've had. So much for saving some money this year!
-
geez trill sounds like heap of $$$$
poor E!! hope she's not in too much pain, lol at hillbilly though :)
looking forward to easter :)
-
G we are thinking about going down at Easter too. Remember that if we are living close by I'll be able to help out with the boys :).
Will jump back on later to catch up properly.
-
oh wow!! we have to meet up!!!!! hopefully we can align the dates :)
-
Cass, notice how I studiously avoided mentioning your departure there? It's because I still can't believe you're going to LA of all places! You are gonna have to give us a blow by blow account of what it is really like because (as you can probably tell) it has turned into a nearly mythical destination in my head because we see all these fictional portrayals in film & tv. LOL I'm worried you don't use enough hairspray to survive in the concrete jungle. I'll be much more psychologically comfortable about your whereabouts once you hit Italia
-
Cass is gonna get hooked on Botox. I am also bedazzled by the L.A thing! How exciting! Bummer about the visa debacle, that would fill my tummy with squirms!
I hope G and Oz can meet up over easter - how cool!
Trill, far out that sounds expensive! And poor E, I hope it doesn't hurt too much when all the pain killers run out. L's fishing thing sounds great! I am sure W would love something like that when he is older. The trout center runs a kid program where they teach them to fly fish and they get a guaranteed catch - not that hard though since the pool is about the size of a tennis court and there are thousands of fish swimming over each other in it lol (pre release fish because lake taupo is stocked)
The weather here is as turd as it sounds over there. Massive amounts of rain and wind this summer. We went to the city for something to do and went to the swimming pool. W was finally brave enough to walk by himself in the 80cm pool which is lucky because it wouldn't have worked very well now that we are outnumbered!
-
Cass I am so excited for you. I can't wait to hear all about it, do you have a blog?
Trill poor E and your poor wallet lol. Did she enjoy her banana smoothie?
Arte thankfully we haven't any rain up here this week, it is the 1 year anni of the floods. We have actually had some really nice weather, though I think it is meant to turn crap this weekend.
G we will definitely have to try and line something up. I don't even know what date Easter is lol.
Is anyone else dealing with lots of frustrated meltdowns? I was reading that at 4 boys get their first big surge of testosterone and that it can make them aggressive. We have had to take L's game console away as he gets so frustrated when he isn't winning and has a massive meltdown. Is this an age thing???
-
We haven't had big meltdowns like that Oz, but he is certainly loads more aggressive and loves rough play. He's just so full on atm! And he is definitely getting more physical with the other kids - if they hassle him too much he will just lay into them. L was never like that, he was never like A is, but then he was the eldest and he only had sisters as well so no one really to wrestle with.
Arte, that was pretty much like the place where L went. But apparently there were a few kids who didn't catch a fish. I think it just got a bit too hot yesterday and they weren't biting as much.
Cass, I read 'You'll never nanny in this town again' about a nanny who worked for Michael Ovitz and some of the stuff that she wrote about just confirmed how LA is an alternate reality for celebs LOL. So I have tainted visions of the place.
-
And E is OK, just a bit sore still and frustrated that she can't eat much. So we've made a heap of jelly for her and I'll make some custard later to go with it.
-
Hey trill do you know what your plans are in Melbourne over that weekend you're here yet?
-
It's not a weekend G. I'll get there 6pm Monday night, which is the 6th, so I'm hoping to get to the motel about 7-7.30? So I'll have that night free, then I'll have all day Tuesday till about 5. I go home first thing Wednesday morning. I wont have a car either so I'll have to make do with public transport. Mayaness and Ocean Princess were going to meet me in the botanical gardens on Tuesday morning. I know it's hard being a weekday thing because of kinder and all that.
-
hhmmm ok, L is only at kinder 8.30-10.00am that day cos they have a staggered start. do you know what time you'll be at the botanical garden?
-
Ooh I would love to get together too- hmmm I am not sure I can do day time though as will be working...when are you here till?
