LOL MD!

The only reason W was cleaning his room by himself was as punishment for deliberately trashing it - like tipping out every single crate of toys in there (blocks, cars, everything off the shelves etc). In the end he was in there for 3.5 hours and I let him out after he made a reasonable(ish) effort, even though that involved shoving basically everything in the wardrobe. He is doing really silly things atm that are obviously for attention. I think he is feeling a bit under appreciated with the addition of the baby. I am spread pretty thin trying to do the basic care and keep the house in a livable state, I haven't really had much time to actually play with the kids. Luckily kindy is back on Tuesday because I am not really liking his attitude right now!

Is a return of separation anxiety normal at this age? Every time he has to leave me, even to go with DH there are waterworks and he doesn't want to go and he says he will never see me again...

I should add that he wasn't locked in his room, the door was open and he spent most of the time in good spirits mucking around not cleaning :)

Ah the rise of bedroom cleanup procrastination! This will very much be a feature of our lives for about the next 15 years! Lol

Yes E still gets a bit clingy with me. Doesn't matter even if she's headed out to do something nice with dh there is still a chance of histrionics if I'm not coming. But there again we're having a bit of a crybaby phase anyway. Pretty much anything can set her off, like if her food is on the plate wrong somehow or something!

ETA Cally wow @ living so close to Disneyland! Every kids dream. And YES definitely go the kindle!

Thanks MD, that is good to know that W is not the only one that is a grizzly crybaby again. I thought it was some holidays/baby combo, but maybe the age has an impact too. He is back to hysterics about socks and his favorite thing is to flop onto the floor and lay screaming that he needs help and can't get up - then when I don't give in he body shuffles around the house lol

LOL. Yes we get the "but I can't move my leg/arm/head/whatever" extreme paralysis too :lol:. We also get (at dinner time) "but I don't know WHAT to eat" when the plate is full of tasty morsels that just need to be picked up and placed into mouth in no particular order. Fun for all players!

Sounds awesome MD lol. Sometimes W can't climb the step to come inside so he sits out there yelling for help and every once in a while he will get up, lock the door and shut himself out, then scream at the top of his lungs that he is locked out! The neighbors must think we are horrible!

I was starting to think we had done something very wrong with that boy! Now that I think of it, I am pretty sure the tipping of all room contents was inspired by The Chipmunks :rolleyes:

Heads up on not watching that movie!! Lol.

Oh and locking himself out then screaming the neighborhood down is hysterical! You should try to catch that on hidden camera, that would win funniest home videos for sure!

It is the first chipmunk movie - when they move into Dave's house they spill everything in the kitchen on the floor. I wish he was still happy with those wholesome preschooler cartoon :(

First day back at kindy today. A 100% improvement in behavior tonight thankfully.

DH said this morning that him and Miss K are both ready to go back to school - they've been busy doing lots of things, but I think they're pretty bored of each other. She's also being very negative of any suggestions he puts forward - just wants to watch Peppa Pig.

Cally: oh man, i hear you loud and clear. L is really for school...but there is none....waaahhhhhh! she has become addicted to Dora the Explorer since we moved to LA :rolleyes:

Arte: oh when even the main actor tells people to not watch a film, it's gotta be a doozer lol. i was thinking of going with the girls to watch it as it appears to be the only kid movie on ATM, but i will have to avoid it like the plague. miss Ls behaviour is really bad atm, i guess it is the move and the new, sugary diet...even the bread has HONEY in it :o

MD: i wish L would miss me sometimes :lol: but i think we hang out together too much and she is bored at the sight of me! this SAHM thang can be really suck-back in that sense. DH is the favourite each time...

AFM: well, we have been settling in. smoother and crazier than i imagined (if that is possible). the running of the apartment is great, located really well. we are a short bus ride to Santa Monica (Read: nordstrom, gymboree, baby gap, bloomingdales etc) and westwood village where we live is really gorgeous and all walkable. the playground situation sucks butt, but i guess we will improvise and hit urban lifestyle soon enough.
i saw my first famous person the other day, but being me, i had NO IDEA what their name was. he plays baddies and cheating scumbag boyfriends all the time in movies. the only thing i can think of that would be recognisable would be his totally piercing blue eyes. they are spooky blue. other than that, nada lol.
ALSO, totally funny and embarrassing was that this guy in starbucks thought i was famous bahahahahaha! i think it was the aussie accent...i went beetroot red and was like, no, you dont recognise me, trust me. i had about 6 people gather round and witness me going bright red while trying to stop L from stealing an orange juice and M from piffing her shoe at me....happy days hahaha. ahhhh LA...
one thing that i am struggling with is the food. there is ALOT of sugar in everything. even bread. gosh, even the organic "all natural" stuff that you wouldnt expect sugar to be in. and trans fat, omg dont get me started on trans fat...i am one of those crazy ladies reading the ingredient lists of everything! the girls are not totally liking the food. i have all my hopes pinned on the beverly hills farmers markets...wish me luck girls! i want fresh food and real bread!!

Oh Clare you should totally find some sufficiently obscure film title and tell them you were in that. Something a bit art side, bit mainstream. Then you'd score a year of free mega vanilla lattes! :lol:

just been a few busy days, girls are finally settling in and Marta is now sleeping in a Big Girl bed at a mere 16 months of age :(. but thems the breaks when you dont have a cot! she also ditched the sleeping bag....far out!

MD: leila would be the opposite of miss e...she is craving kindy like there is no tomorrow. she is missing the company of kids big time. hopefully soon we can befriend (and stalk hahah) more people with kids soon.

All good here - hot weekend! Took the boys to Mickey and friends concert yesterday - amazing we all loved it
Swimming this morning w friends - also fun. Need to do it more as they are bit such scaredys!
