OMG at K just giving up day naps Cally!! W's are some dim memory and even A hasn't had one for the last month or two!
Hope you get the light thing sorted. W often packs it in if it is too bright when he gets up in the morning and will turn off the lights/pull the curtains. Very annoying actually.
n still naps on weekends!!!!!!!!!! But I think thats prob a muscle tone things - he gets so tired. He sometimes sleeps at kinder too, but that is ending! I think j may give his up in the next 6 months...
they are both in bed by 730 - they go to sleep by themselves but after books together and books and talks separately in their own beds.
Thyr get up between 547 (yes 547 exactly) and 7 (rarely). I am teaching Noah how good sleep ins are on weekends - not v successfully yet but I can try!

not much going on here, same old, same old. another day, another babycino.
The trip was fantastic, thanks Ginger. For starters, you cannot possibly imagine the power of psychological freedom that comes from leaving your darlings at home and heading out to suit yourself for 10 days. Secondly, I spent loads of time nattering to my friends while I was there, which was very overdue for this hermit. But mostly, the masterclass itself was brilliant. Being taken seriously by a room full of writing peers has helped me to take my own writing seriously... plus BC loved my work. Like, really loved it. He gave out signed books each day to ppl he thought had done especially well and I kept getting them :redface:. So I now have avenues to bypass the slushpile... ;)
Now I just have to rescue myself from the ignomy of academic failure after neglecting my studies for too many days in a row LOL.
MD, are you just realizing that you are brilliant? Cos we have all known it for ages :)

Same old here too. There was a 2 hour power cut this morning so kindy was cancelled (no heat or water), but we had a friend over and then went for a walk in the beautiful sunshine.
oh MD that is super fantastic confidence boosting awesomeness all rolled into one there girl! Can't wait til we are getting signed copies of your books ;)

Sorry that i am a bit MIA lately, barely time to get on the PC as we are visiting friends and they have teenage sons...computers are their lifeblood hahaha.

LOL Cass, it scares me to imagine how dependent on tech our kids will be by the time they are teens.
I have A enrolled at kindy and have been leaving her there solo for a couple of hours to bring E home for a nap which means I get a good couple of hours all to myself :) It has been great. I haven't really had that before because the other two were not very good day sleepers. It is very refreshing to have some time to do some study, or a bit of housework, or just watching crappy daytime T.V (16 and pregnant is like a car wreak you just can't look away from!).

Arte - yay for your couple of hours! :clap: There are times in life when daytime tv is good for the soul - this is one of them. :) Is A enjoying the kindy? Are you still plugging away at your study - you're such a hero!
Trill, I'm in the final week-ish of the semester and feeling the heat too. But the end is nigh - at least for a couple of weeks anyway. How many subjects are you doing? How far are you through the course?
Cally, how did K's eye check go? I really need to take my girls for their checks too.
JM I missed your post at the time - have you tried the good ole sticker chart? It can work wonders - sometimes, with some things, anyway. Esp with a very-wanted reward at the end of hte chart.
Speaking of very-wanted things, miss E has discovered the shopping brochures in a big way! LOL The objet du desir changes as frequently as the catalogues do. Funny the things that appeal to them, she was hot on Monster High dolls about a month ago, talked about them every day for about a fortnight, but it seems to have worn off now. Funnily enough she's never seen the show (which I understand is only online?)
Got the telly on at the moment (BH&G)- I would soooo love to go to the Chelsea flower show!

We are leaving for Italia on the 5th of June. it seems so close and yet so far away hahaha. we are starting our road trip back to smelly LA today. but i am looking forward to seeing the rockies and checking out the mormon state (Utah) lol. i have seen lots of 'big love' off the compound people even here in Kansas, so i can only imagine what it is like in Utah. then we are off to Zion National park for a bit of a flashy resort break before las vegas and LA...
Miss L also is obsessed with catalogues. target ones are her favourite :)
MD, A is loving kindy and it is really helping her be more independent and not such a baby - she is trying to do loads more stuff instead of her traditional half-assed attempt followed by a heap of bellowing lol. Yeah, still plodding along with the study. I am still only on my half way paper. I would have been finished by the end of this year, but E has caused a 2 year delay. But never mind, she is worth it.
Cass, how exciting! 5th of June is not far away. Is your DH working over there or is it a family visit thing? Are apples in season atm lol? How is everything going pregnancy wise? I really hope the MS has cleared up for you with all that driving you guys have been doing!
I think I saw some Monster High stuff in the shop but I have no idea what it is about. W is currently into Ben 10 and Ninjago, which are good choices - I like them too :)

Though Monday mornings I do boxing at 630am...
All is well here - dh has a few overseas work trips coming up so difficult month or 2 ahead (3 trips of around a week each).. Have also been booking holidays though so that is something to loom forward to. Going to Byron w mum end of September and then dh and I are off to Phuket kid free next march for our 10 yr wedding anniversary (been together 15 though). Yay!. And looking for a beach house for 2 weeks at Xmas. And there's goes my annual leave!

MP - your holidays always sound so good. At the moment my only plans are a week with my parents (and K) on my aunts dairy farm. Not quite up to what you do!

Miss K's eye test went well yesterday. No problems at all, so we'll see what happens with the headaches. Maybe it's just due to the bit of a cough she's struggling to get over.
Cass - are you all ready for the big plane trip again?
Miss K had a sleepover with MIL last night so we had a grown up dinner out. Very nice too. That first hour with her back home though is a bit of a shock to the system - the constant talking, requests to dance etc etc. Was a very quiet morning here!

Cass, did you have 'lazy eye' as a child that was corrected by a patch?
Arte: yep. i had to wear my pirate eye patch haha. unfortunately it wasnt fully corrected. apparently it really should of been zapped with a laser and a small operation (but mine was quite severe). i still get a slight turn when i am incredibly tired.
Cally: ahhhh yes and no lol! i wish that i knew that things would go smoothly on the plane. i have read reviews and swiss air are meant to be quite good, but we got sooo lucky with qantas and scoring a free seat that i know that i will be disappointed when miss M has to sit on my lap haha.

AFM: we are all good. decided to stay an extra night in Las Vegas as it was dirt cheap and totally awesome. only $50 a night in this massive hotel room lounge kitchen full sized bathroom and separate toilet! and it is poolside so the girls are living the dream hahaha. then tomorrow we are back in smelly old LA for a week before flying out! YIPPPPEEEEEE!!!
Cass, I was just reading about vision development and it made me think of you - apparently to develop stereo vision you need input from both eyes at the same time. While patching corrects the lazy eye, it causes some neurons to respond only to the dominant eye when unpatched and the lazy eye when the patch is on so they don't learn to respond to images from both eyes simultaneously and so you end up with mono vision (I remember you posting you had mono vision a few weeks back). Of course it depends on the age and length of time the eye was patched for, and there isn't really a better alternative so patching it is :)
Turns out that psychology isn't that cabbage after all.
