MD, bummer about putting off the trip for a day. Settling in well. Actually, really loving it. A causal 100m stroll to kindy is soooo much more relaxed than packing everyone into the car and driving. The house is...80's modern. So tidy, but a bit dated. Still looks pretty good though and better than anything we have lived in before :) Plus there is a full mountain view out the kitchen window (above someones house though)
Cass, hope you get a good nap in somewhere. I remember being very tired when pg with Erin. Just that total body exhaustion when you can't be bothered moving. How is the morning sickness now?
Trill, hope your tooth is feeling better now.
Everything is going nicely here. DH has taken the big kids out and E is asleep and I am supposed to be doing an assignment.
-
sorry I've been so MIA! sometimes i just feel like my babies are all grown up and i don't have much to say anymore :(
arte- oooh i am a big fan of a mountain view. sounds lovely.
trill- ouchies on the root canal!!!
md- i have never read the power of one, but have always kinda wanted to. I'm guessing that you recommend it? I've never seen the movie either, even though i had a major crush on steven dorf (he looked heaps like my ex-bf)!!!
um yes, can't remember who asked but i have managed to catch up with jm a couple of times and she is going really well. pepe is absolutely divine and looks like a little doll (jealous much?)
have a question to ask you all tomorrow about fb friends and need your input. will be back tomorrow
-
Ginger, totally give it a whirl, you'll either love it or hate it! :D Is Stephen Dorf in the movie? I don't even know who he is? BUT we saw a bit of it on the telly a few weeks ago, and lo and behold there's Daniel Craig - with a very unattractive scowly skinhead look going on. He was obviously pretty young then and clearly a bit of an ugly duckling...
Glad you've seen JM, if you see her again soon give her our love. xxx
Totally bring on the FB question. I'm currently reeling in a state of FB shock after setting DD1 up on it tonight, and seeing some of the stuff that some of the other little darlings are posting. Unclassy all right. I think my oldest baby's going to get a bit of an education, if you know what i mean... :o Anyhoo I think I might have to talk her through the whole close friends vs acquaintances features sooner rather than later.
-
hello girls!
Ginger: FB us away with your questions! i am always up for offering my totally uneducated opinion  and YES! i second JM....give her our love!!! Pepe does look like such a little doll, you are so right!
*off to google Stephen Dorf*
MD: is there a moment when Daniel Craig isnt an ugly duckling  i'm afraid that the man just doesnt float my boat.
A good chat with DD1 is a brilliant idea. i am in the midst of a program developing training policies and best practice for those working with children and young people regarding online sexual exploitation. always a good idea to empower your own children to be active and in charge of their online behaviour and information!
Arte: mountain views?? now that does sound idyllic! how are the kids settling in? are they loving the lack of car trips to kindy?
Trill: hope the toofy-peg is alright....and DH's shock has worn off lol.
AFM: all going well here. Got to see our little poppet and they did the 3d scan thing, which totally freaked me out. i am so not sure about those things...
we have been having a wonderful time with our family from Chile. so amazing to meet someone that i feel is like a sister! we are so similar in mannerisms etc. totally spooky. Unfortunately they fly out on Sunday at lunchtime :( Miss L has just had a ball with my (2nd) cousin's 11 year old. they tell fart jokes relentlessly
-
Cass, hope you had a super cool birthday! Your scan pic looked cool, but yeah, those scans freak me out a bit lol. Family similarity is odd isn't it - my father and I have similar humor and mannerisms, despite me not meeting him until I was 23.
I think the kids are liking the stroll to kindy - I know I am :) W always wanted to ride his bike to kindy and now he does, it feels like a much healthier lifestyle itms.
G, don't worry if you have no kid stuff to talk about, just pop in to see us!
MD, still totally unprepared for the whole kids on the net thing. I like to tell myself it is still years away...
We had some professional pics taken today of the family (one of those deals when the first pic is $10, fundraising for kindy). It was going well until Erin cruised along to the end of her prop and apparently forgot she can't walk and let go - face plant :( But apart from that it was great - hoping we will get a really nice shot of all of us.
-
...and a face plant shot would also be awesome lol.
That is one thing that Miss L is really looking foward to: being able to ride her bike to school next year. Of course, it will mean that I will actually have to buy her a bike
-
hi girls
G i know what you mean, i also sometimes feel like i dont have much to add - re the boys who are so grown up or about my life in general which is moving in a different direction itms. then i think, hang on friends are friends and we should share whatever is going on... then the speed of life takes over again and it is a week since i read or posted. i do love when there are lots of things for me to catch up on though, so once again here is my commitment to keep up LOL!
Arte - i dont know if i wrote after the fire - i meant to but i dont think i did (i am so sorry). that must have been so scary and i was so amazed how calmly you dealt with it all. i am so pleased you are loving the new house and i know what you mean re the healthier lifestyle - N has just statted aukick and the weekends being taken up with such 'wholesome' fun and activity feels great. how is w behaviour wise these days?
i also started a new 'tradition' last night - try something new night! it w as a success. i felt as though the bosy diet had become a lot more rigid and narrow (esp as someone else ofetn does their dinner which i leave for them) and i wanted them to keep exploring diff foods (plus i want to try new recipes) so i have started a new thing where one weeknd day (usually sunday) we sit with a recipe book (not always my style but works for this) and they pick a recipe for us to try for dinnetr - if it is a hit i will add to the usual repertiore... as a bonus they have negotiated that we rry a new dessert too (J is one mean negotiator) and then we all eat togther at the dining room table around 530. last night was a meditterean fish stew with couscous whcih was a huge hit! and choc self saucing pudding. they loved it. thought i would put it out there as its lots of fun adn they loved picking the food and helping me.
Cass - your bday sounds amazing! and great you had so much fun with your rellies.
Sherie - ouchies on the tooth. what is the issue with A speech? i have noticed N still has some sounds he says incorrectly, will get it checked if not resolved before he is 5. (though its rather cute, just one or 2 sounds). i wonder if it is related to his muscle tone issues actually.
AFM i am reeling a little at the moment as it appears N may need glases. i am totally shocked as there i sno family history at all. took him on sat expectingt o be told there is no issue and he seems to be very long sighted. poor little guy cant see much close up at all (explians lack of tv interest etc). its lucky he is so bright and perseveres so much. anyway going abck on sat for some more testing and then to a specialist and then we will know what to do. must admity i was so shocked, but now i am just glad we are dealing with it and i also feel so sad for him with what he has been missing out on. am glad we can get onto it soon, before it affects his reading etc and enjoyment at school. soooooo i would strongly advise everyone to do the pre school eye testing... (its a never ending story!). we picked this up as he leans in v close to draw/write but i can imagine it could go un noticed too.
-
Belated Birthday wishes to Cass! I'm so sorry that I missed your big day  But it sounds like it was a fabulous day.
MD that's a bit of a worry about DD1. I watched a thing on telly ages ago now and they seem to think that the use of social media as a part of becomming sexually aware etc is the *norm* now :( Such a different world to the one we all grew up in and some of us aren't even that old kwim? Its like the rules have changed overnight.
Hey MP! Don't feel bad about the glasses - like you said there is no family history of it so it wouldn't have been something you'd have ben aware of as a possibility. L is extremely long sighted too and the glasses were the best thing for him! The only sign we had of L having problems was a lazy left eye, he never had to put things right up close of anything so there was a bit of guilt there for a while but you get over it pretty quick when you realise that glasses aren't the end of the world kwim? Plus, L can play footy and do a lot of fine motor things so it's certainly not held him back at all. THe issues with A's speech are just not articulating a few sounds. Some of it is still age appropriate, but the ones we're working on atm aren't. But he's mastered the sounds pretty quick and he's constantly practising which is good. I love the idea of trying a new meal like that. I try to do it, but it just never eventuates.
Tooth is good - on Friday and Saturday though I couldn't put any pressure on it at all which was weird, but yesterday it was fine again. DH is OK with it - we shouldn't be too much out of pocket which is good.
-
thanks Trill. its breaking my heart a bit for all sorts of reasons... but i know it will all be ok (i dont feel guilt as such, it is more shock, sadness etc)
-
MP, some of the best of us wear glasses lol. I can imagine how it feels though. I am pretty sure at least one of mine will need glasses. W passed his before school check easily, but my vision went bung around age 8 so I will definitely make sure they have regular visits to the optometrist.
W is doing much better thanks.
-
MP, the kids glasses are so funky these days. I've gotten some great ones for L over the years and they are super stylish - the way they make lenses these days mean no 'kevvy coke-bottles' It's at the point now where L actually looks weird when he's not wearing them.
-
Mp - I've filled in all the forms for the eye screening so K will be doing that shortly. Forgot to mention her light sensitivity though, will bring it up when the tests happen. I know how you feel, that's kind of like how I felt when I heard about K's hearing loss. And agree with the funky kids glasses, I was looking at them recently when I got my new ones and there are some pretty cool ones compared to what I remember kids with glasses having when I was younger. Great idea on the new meal, I get the Good Taste magazine each month so we're often trying new things (some not a success, but others are definite winners). Love J negotiating for dessert as well, Miss K would have been right into that too!
K is doing really well with her speech. She was trying to say a 'st' word this morning, but it was coming out as 'sh'. She was picking up on it though, and stamping her foot each time before she finally got it out right - glad that she can hear it properly now and can't believe that a week ago she couldn't do 'sh' properly and now it's coming out automatically!
Arte - yay for riding bikes to school! K will be able to do that next year, although it's almost so close it's not worth it for us!
Ginger - where's your FB question?
In some ways I am glad that DH is a high school teacher so will be a bit more upto date on teenager's thinking when we start going through all of that sex stuff!
Not much else happening here. DH is away for a Principal's meeting next week so we'll have a girls night. Oh and DD has a massive crush on my gym instructor - he is in Year 12 and she just lies on the floor and gazes at him while we are doing Step. We saw him out for dinner one night and when I asked her what the best bit of her day was 'seeing Tyler at the restaurant'.
-
Cally that is so cute! I filled in the preschool eye forms ages ago too but I can't remember when they were actually doing it.
-
Cally that is just adorable
Thanks for the words re the eye - I know it is all ok, it is more just a shock. Arte - I didn't mean anything re ppl wearing glasses or even him wearing them really (and I hope my post didn't offend you...) - I just meant I was processing what this means for him, his ability, his learning, socialization etc. And now that I have read more and even trills comments re l I am a lot more comfortable that he will adapt. I Am a but upset, but that is more about it being an issues and him missing things up til now more than anything else. Anyway - thanks all for your never failing support.
-
MP, the thing is that Mr N doesnt know any different ITMS. he doesnt feel that he has missed out, for him that is the way the world looks and his brain adapts to that ITMS. I say this from my perspective where i have worn glasses from 12 months of age and only recently was told that i have monovision lol (i have always known about the long sightedness)! i had no idea that my crap ball skills were actually depth perception issues due to my dodgy eyes hahahaha (and i could never work out the big deal about 3D movies  i kid you not ).
-
hi girls
mp- i can kind of relate to how you feel, i felt like that when i found out about L's lack of hearing. N will look so cute with glasses though!
right so my fb question is, how do you feel about people that you haven't spoken to for 16 years or so seeking you out and friending you? see, idk, i think its kinda weird. i think if we haven't spoken fore that long then we should probably let it go. do you think its weird for me to feel like this? I'm a bit thrown by a girl who i used to be friends with in primary school- and then sort of friends with in high school finding me on there. she says that she's always wondered about me and stuff like that.
-
im filling out L's enrolment forms for school right now. bittersweet
-
G, I wouldn't bother replying to your distant friend. I might consider adding a relation after all that time, but not a sort of friend from high school. Some people take FB friend to be anyone that ever met or vaguely remember the name of. I think my fb is set to super paranoid mode so I (hopefully) don't come up in searches.
MP, glad you a feeling better about the glasses. I am sure he has not missed out on anything, it was just his normal itms. Now he will be all set up for school etc, no problem (you certainly didn't offend me on the glasses thing either).
MD, what is this I hear about a chocolate cafe??? Are you away now? Hope you are having a fabulous time xx
Cally, it isn't worth biking to kindy for us either - by the time I have the pram down the drive he is already there lol. It is about 30m away! But he likes it :)
So funny about K's crush!
First snow on the mountain over the last couple of days and OMG it is freezing! This house just has a heat pump, doesn't get snuggly warm like having a fireplace. Might have to get an oil heater for the bedrooms too, gets a bit chilly up there.
-
Ginger - I suppose it might be considered a bit weird, but then maybe she was thinking that she should have stayed better friends with you in high school. I'd be willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, friend her and if it gets weird you can defriend her. You can always block certain posts so she can't see them as well if they're something you're concerned about a lack of privacy with. Wow, school forms already - the local Catholic primary had an open day yesterday, but the public school we are going to doesn't have anything until September or so.
Arte - wow 30m, you could just wave him over (if it wasn't for having to sign him in!) I forgot to sign Miss K in to preschool last week - it was the first time she didn't freak with me leaving her there and needing to be extracted that I was too focussed on getting out the door!
-
Hello girls!
G: i reckon the less friends on FB the better ITMS. i dunno. i like to share photos and dislike that i now have a 'do not show' list for those long ago friends that i have no idea about their current lives IYKWIM. I am hoping to get my brave boots on and just cull a whole bunch. I also am currently ignoring a friend request from a guy that is marrying my bestie. i have NEVER met him, dont think i particularly like him (i get heebie jeebie), but i do know that by not friending him it will be noted. predicament argghh! but ultimately, i want to feel comfy with who can see my photos...
Arte: brrrr! having lived in canberra without adequate heating it is worth investing in really good heaters :) i just dont move when i am cold.
MD: i am soooo jealous of your sydney jaunt! i soo wanna be there indulging in strawberries and chocolate dipping sauce!
Cally: we are not filling out forms yet either. i think ours is even later (october!). i better double-check though!
AFM: all good here. we are only 9 days away from moving out of the apartment! i cant believe it! i am so excited lol. BIG roadtrip through canyon country, colorado and the rockies coming up as we head to kansas to visit friends. i am mildly worried about the drive as it is tornado season and there has been quite alot...
-
Cass, I would so love to do a big road trip across US like that! I have it planned in my mind, and DH agrees because he doesn't really think we will ever do it lol. I would love to go storm chasing!
Cally, yay for the quiet get away! Has she always been upset at leaving time? W went though a patch at the start of the year of getting upset when I left but he is good again now thankfully.
Yeah, when he starts school he can go by himself when he is ready - it is only on the other side of kindy.
So do your kids not start school when they turn 5?
-
Arte, they dont' go to school till after they have turned 5 or the year that they do. So for our September babies, they will turn 5 this september and then go to school next year. But for my L, he started school when he was 4yr11mths and he turned 5 in Feb 3 weeks after he started school. They don't start school as soon as they turn 5, but in SA I think they can?
G, I had that happen ages ago - a girl I was friends with in high school and then had a falling out with after school finished friended me on FB. TBH I added her because I was just as curious about her life as she was about mine, but we messaged each other a few times, filled each other in on the past 15 years and then I unfriended her. There wasn't any point having her on there just because she was someone I used to be friends with. If it happened again I wouldn't friend the person, but just message them to get the courtesies out of the way and then move on again kwim? But in your situation, it's been years with no real friendship even when you were at school so I would pass on it. With my situation we were besties at school so it was a bit different.
Cass the road trip sounds fantastic! I would like to do it too. For all americas faults, they sure do have some beautiful country over there. And I think DH would secretly love to drive through the farming areas but he'd never admit it LOL.
Arte, I'd be getting a few heaters too! Sounds like a cold bugger of a place.
MP, I think it's harder on us to adjust to than it is for them, because if you think of it this way, everything gets immediately better for them because they put the glasses on and holy moly they can see! And kids with glasses are so common these days. At out school there would be 30plus kids that have glasses. Not all of them wear them fulltime like L does, but there are more kids with glasses than you think there are. And he's never been teased about it either, which was one thing I was worried about because when I was at school kids got teased about glasses. So it was good to know that it was a non-issue kwim?
We dont do school enrollments till September too. I'm going to be an absolute mess when he goes for his orientation days. We're waiting to hear about L's exam results to see if he got into the high school or not though, so I'm distracted by that and not thinking about my baby boy going to school LOL
-
Arte - K and her cousin will both be starting school Jan/Feb next year, even though they are 6 months difference in age. It creates a lot of angst for kids that are 5 in the period of Feb to April as they are youngish, but if they wait a year they can be almost 6 when they do start.
K has always had some days when she has been a bit funny at the dropoff, but we seem to have had more this year. Although today's dropoff went very well.
Trill - how long do you have to wait for the results? Fingers crossed!
-
ARTE!!! - did we miss your birthday? Noooooooo! And it's a big one, with a zero attached and everything.
Ok, well a bit belatedly - but :happybirthday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :birthday2: To a gorgeous friend... I think of you often - even when it's not your birthday! Hope you managed to have a lovely day, best excuse for self-indulgence I reckon
-
Hey MD. How was your trip away? I see you are off again soon too! Busy, busy! How was the Bryce thing?
Don't worry about missing my birthday - I took it off FB in a fit of denial a while back lol. But it was an ok day, just another day really. Turned out it was pretty painless rolling over into the new decade :)
-
oh i totally didnt realise!!!! well, happy birthday anyway Arte! sorry that it was a bit of a fizzler
we are slowly packing up our house here in LA!! this friday we are gone!!! cant wait to hit the road.
not much else to report really. Miss L is getting a bit anxious about the change in structure again, but thankfully i am aware of the signs this time and am onto it. so hopefully have curbed it off a bit.
-
Arte, the Bryce this is the one I'm going to. The other one was my DoD sponsored Sydney trip. Nice, by the way. I advocated hard and a couple of my ideas got up - one of them was so sticky someone else picked it up and ran with it. Hopefully it will lead to positive change (but I'm not holding my breath, JIC). LOL at you being such a Zero Deniar. BTW how's the new place going, have you got the mice & heating etc all sorted out?
Cass - yay for you moving again - gosh that's gone so fast. I can't believe it's MAY already! I hope you take lots of photos on your road trip - sounds gorgeous. Tornado schnornado. Just keep on truckin!
Ginger - hmmm - re FB - it depends on the depth of the original connection, for me. I recently friended someone I hadn't seen for about 15 years - we were friends when we lived in the same town but so much harder to maintain that connection over multiple moves. Anyway it has been a real delight to reconnect and I can't imagine that she feels any different. And when I was in Sydney I looked up a friend I hadn't seen since DD1 was 6 months old - it was fantastic. BUT having said all that, I've ignored plenty of friend requests as well, from people I haven't shared that closeness with - I think it's kinder to never friend in the first place than friend then de-friend.
MP - I know it's hard to hear you've missed an issue like eyesight, but that's probably a good sign that he's been compensating really well, and you provide a rich multisensory environment for him to learn in too. Well done picking it up so early, it takes many families a lot longer!
Good reminder to get my girls' eyes checked - thanks.
Trill - yes it is like the rules have changed overnight (re soc media). But on the other hand it gets some things out and more visible whereas perhaps they might've been trickier to identify. Put it this way, it's taken exactly one week of DD being on FB for me to identify exactly who the biartches are. And it's an angle into some conversations about particular dynamics. But I can tell you a lot of parents are *not* scrutineering their little darlings online (at all). BTW how's the semester going for you?
-
...or the case may be MD that the parents are supporting their wee children in the biartchy behaviour ;) shockingly common from what i remember when i was in highschool.
-
Heating and mice sorted I think - getting the diesel central heating going soon and I flicked a particularly slow and floppy mouse out the door so I am assuming the bait is doing its job.
Cass, any improvement in the morning sickness? I forgot to ask if you examined your 3D ultrasound for any hint of gender? I still say boy. Hope L does better with the next shift - the prep should help.
MD, yay for catching up with old friends :) Hope your next trip is good.
AFM, we have a lady coming tomorrow to meet W in regards to his behavior. I talked to her last week while W wasn't here and she very quickly gathered that the clothes thing is not sensory but security, and the tantrums are control and based on his very strong sense of self and autonomy. She seem very intuitive, she came to the same conclusions as me without me saying. Although he has been much better lately, but it won't hurt to have some tools in the box for next time ('cos there is always a next time!).
-
Arte - that's great. look fwd to hearing how it goes. x
-
MD: soooo what were the ideas??? you dont need to spill if it is too awesome :)
I was so jealous of your trip to sydney lol. is canberra also a solo act?
Arte: little turd had legs FIRMLY crossed hahaha. we didnt get too many pics as it was super quick scan at our request. but thankfully we dont have to wait long for the morphology which is on the 13th of june....just flying along this pg. sometimes i even forget that i am pregnatn (and yes, even with the shocking morning sickness...which is slowly abating....i think).
that sounds awesome about having someone else try to offer some perspective and advice with W. what is the most worrying aspect? or is it a whole situation thing rather than individual things?
for me, i worry about Miss Ls tendencies to anxiety. we have it in the family and i sooo dont want her to be afflicted with it.
G: how did the FB thing resolve? I have chosen to pretend the friend request i have isnt there
Trill: yeah i am looking forward to seeing some more spectacular scenery. the redwood forests in Nth California were just breathtaking, and i am soo looking forward to the grandcanyon, rockies and colorado etc. DH was awesome and bought me a gorgeous new camera with a flashy looking lens so here's hoping i learn how to use it in time
AFM: all good here. there was a HUGE torndado in Kansas yesterday. not happy Jan. ah well, storm chasers r us lol.
-
Arte - glad the birthday wasn't too freaky. That decade is pretty good I reckon. Hope everything goes well with W today.
Cass - oooh, tornadoes! I think I would be quietly freaking out about that, but chances are pretty small you'd manage to get caught up in one (aren't they?)
DD is having a sick day today. Woke up this morning with no voice and a terrible barky sort of cough. Apparently one of her little friends had croup last week so she might have that. DH is coming home at lunch time to take over so I can do some work - he's away the next 2 days so it will be just me if it is something more serious than just one recovery day.
On the plus side it is going to be 24 degrees today, so we might go to the chemist to get some sore throat lozenges, then have a bit of a swing at the beach (well rugged up of course)
-
Cally: ah poor miss k with the cough! how does she go with lozenges? i reckon miss L would just chomp on down on them without hesitation hahaha.
i asked my friend today about the tornadoes and apparently the locals all just think they are cool and 'fun'. i am not sharing that enthusiam hahaha.
-
She loves throat lollies! She used to be a chewer, but she sucks now. Found some today that are lollypops for sore throats. Poor little chicken, she looks so miserable, can't talk properly and with such a yucky cough. It's been ages since she's had more than a cold.
-
i know, i know, I've been slack MIA again haven't i?
ok, so what have i got to talk about today? we have just finished the chestnut festival again. so glad to have it over. my stall raised $2068 for the kinder so I'm happy about that. J and L are going really well. L loving kinder and making a few other friends other than just his bestie which i am happy about. it was turning into a bit of a bromance so its good to see him branch out a little and make other friends. i simply cannot TT J. i don't know what to do. he refuses to wear undies at all- kicks them off screaming and goes and gets a nappy. i think its going to be a long drawn out process.
thanks for all your responses re: fb dilemma. we were quite close back in the day but i just think that 15 yrs is a long time to try to make up iykwim? we ended up having a convo on fb chat one night and she ended it by saying we'll meet up for coffee soon. idk, i sort of hope it just never eventuates any further.
cally- how is miss K going now? hopefully she has picked up a bit. you have inspired me to do the intensive swimming holiday program so i have booked L in for next hols.
cass- not sure if you've already answered this but are you finding out the gender on this one?
arte- how did the lady go with W? oh and happy belated bday!!!
trill- do you know yet whether L got into the high school?
-
Hey G! Don't worry about not being here that much - we all do what we can. That's great you raised so much money. When I did fundraising with our preschool we raised a heap of money over the years to the point where for the last few years they have hardly had to do any fundraising, but they are spending it like there is no tomorrow too. So glad this is my last ever year of preschool because I reckon next year they will expect you to have your hands in your wallet every week because they have spent it all. Mind you this is just a parent committee too and not the preschool. I'm sure the preschool doesn't need half the shiit they have brought. Good to hear about L widening his friendship circle too. My kids have always been 'one person friend' type kids and it always bit them because their friend would go off to a different school. Alister is the same, but his best mate will go to the same school.
We find out the end of June/july ifhe got in or not. I'm so anxious about it though. I'm really hoping that his academic record at school will help him get a place. He told me he did a reading assessment the other day and only got 4 words wrong - I had a google and it means he has a reading age of a 14yo! Surely that amount of brains has to count for something?
I had a shiity music assignment that I had to do back before easter and it was hands down the worst assignment I have ever had to do - totally out of my depth and a lecturer that was a complete nutjob, but I got a HD 85% mark for it today and I am beyond happy about it. But by the same token, the person we all thought would ace it got a really poor mark so we have no idea what's going on. We've all told her she should have it remarked.
-
thanks trill. i have 2 more years of pre school as J starts next year. the one friend thing does concern me, but as i said, lately he has gathered a couple of others that I'm pleased about. 14 yo at reading is amazing! I'm sure he will get in but i understand your anxiety :)
well done on the music assignment
-
Miss K is almost back to normal. Still a bad cough, but she was right for preschool today and was desperate for swimming lessons too (if it hadn't been 26 today I might have said no, but the weather was so warm!).
Ginger - I'm sure the intensive lessons will go well, they make such a difference.
Trill - wow, 14 year old reading age! Awesome!
-
Trill, well done on the HD! Is the reading test that Wood**** thing? Do they still use that? I am sure that L will get into the high school. They will be lucky to have him there.
G, well done on the fundraising! W is just branching out making friends with a couple of other kids too. He had a bad habit of only just making a friend the week or two before the other kid went to school but these couple are the same age as him.
With J, personally I would give up for a month or so and start again. I just did with A, couldn't be bothered with all the screaming and hassle so we will try again next holidays.
Cally, hope K is feeling better. E has a cold and we have spent hours up in the middle of the night for the last two nights because she is all blocked up and feverish :(
W's appointment was postponed until next week.
Not much happening here. Miss E is very close to walking now - she can stand quite happily and she did about 8 steps chasing the cat the other night but went a bit crooked and crashed into the couch lol.
Oh, I do have exciting news! For me anyway lol. I made the last payment for DH's student loan today. All paid off - that means nearly $800 extra every month! So nice to have it over and done with :)

Far out Arte! That is a huge amount of extra money to have each month. I saw that video of E and she is soooo close to walking isn't she? So cute too.
Cally, I can't even comprehend swimming lessons at this time of year LOL. You can't half tell we don't have indoor pools around here. Good to hear she is recovering well.
