Sorry for my double post, but just as I posted in the previous thread it got closed, so thought I'd post in the new one too...
Hello lovelies!
My apologies in advance for the rant/vent.... and I'm sorry that I have been MIA, but have had a real rough few days with Noah this week and feeling a bit sad, down, stressed and emotional!
I have been reading everyone's posts but just haven't had time to come do persies as Noah has been so clingy and hardly sleeping during the day. It's very frustrating as I haven't done ANYTHING, I have a tonne of washing, the house hasn't been vacuumed or mopped for nearly a week and the dishes gets done when I get time during the day (if I even do) otherwise DH does them. Have been flying solo most of the time as DH leaves at 5am and doesn't get home til around 6:30pm-7:00pm which means I have no time to do anything or have any time for myself. Noah usually goes to bed just as DH shows up at home and then I usually start making dinner, have dinner, have a shower, a cuppa tea and then fall in bed dead exhausted...only to start my day similar to the day before again the next morning.
I actually had a pretty good day yesterday as Noah and I went to my Mummies group and it was lovely to get out and about and to chat with the other Mummies and have some adult conversation. I live for my fortnightly Wednesday catchups with them. Noah also slept pretty well during the day yesterday, but we had a crappy night last night, well I did. He went to sleep at 6:45pm and slept til 2:30am, but I couldn't sleep and didn't fall asleep until nearly midnight. Woke up when he did and then we woke nearly every 1.5hours (think he was hot and just not wanting to settle) and by 6am this morning didn't want to sleep anymore. He had a 30 minute nap this morning, an hour nap around lunch time and then had a 25 minute nap this arvo, so who knows what his sleep will be like tonight.
Sorry for my rant/vent, but I feel better for getting it off my chest. Thanks Vix for your lovely and sweet message, really appreciate you thinking of me! Hope you're doing ok. I'm thinking of you too!
nawww Pretz - huge huge hugs babe. i now how you feel cooper has been soooo clingy for a couple of days now and with mum in thailand and mum and my sis have moved house so they are no longer within walking distance and DF at work allll day im exhausted. i feel terrible coz the minute he walks thru the door i hand him this whingy kid and just walk away. is your DH working over the weekend? i hope he isnt so you get a chance to have some R&R and just focus on you for an hour or so. i wish you lived closer so i could come over and look after Noah just so you could have a good nap. thinking of ya hun wish i could help
feeling like crapola this morning. had a migraine during the night and V was incredibly frustrating and wouldn't sleep. I think I got 1.5 hours, then another 1.5 hours, then another 1.5 hours and then maybe 2 hours.
At least I got SOME sleep I guess. But broken up like that it is no fun. Still feel like throwing up this morning and have a residual headache but not anywhere near as bad.
Gotta go down the street soon and organize all the legal aid paperwork and get that all happening.
Vix- big hugs chicky. I'm sorry things are tough for u right now. It's great that u can talk about it though, keep it up- we are all here whenever u need to offload and I hope u have IRL support too xoxo
Hi everyone else!
Sorry for the shorty post, just wanted to let you know I've had a big scare today. I've been feeling really short of breath for the last 3 weeks, and chest pain for a couple of days.
Went to dr this morning, she sent me for a CT scan - I have pulmonary Emboli (blood clots) in both my lungs!!! OMG I totally freaked out. I was rushed straight to hospy, and now here I lie, on oxygen, having clexane injections & warfarin, heart
Monitoring. The specialist reckons it's from my contraceptive pill, and I can never take it again!
I feel so lucky I am getting treatment & that I'm not going to die All I could think about was leaving my bubby girl & DF, I even upped
My life insurance last week- a real optimist aren't I?
Anyhow, will be back when I get out of here, prob in a few days
Big hugs Pretz, that's awful. I didn't know they were worse after bub either, I guess I'm lucky, AF has been better since miss M was born. Anyway, I hope you are feeling better soon, and that the BT finds some answers
Hi everyone else!!!
Well am home from hossy, have to be on meds for the next 6 months & have regular BT's, but at least I don have to give myself injections twice a day now. Still short of breath & chest pain, but is getting better.
Hope everyone is having a great day.
Thanks hun, it's just a combo of my kids names lol. Madi has been awesome until I got home from hossy. I think DF may have stuffed up her losec at some point cause her reflux has started up again & she's refusing feeds again...ARGH I thought the rollercoaster was over. But she's sleeping well, so all is not lost. She's had a temp all day today, but no other symptoms...teething maybe? I've got an amber teething necklace on her, but I guess it wouldn't stop temps.
I thought that's what it was, beautiful. Oh what a shame she has reflux again, I hope it's under control again soon as you don't need that on top of being so unwell. Glad she still sleeping well though, must help I'm sure hope the teething necklace helps, poor bub
AFM - just gave Cooper a bath in his new bath seat, he loved it lol. Looked around the bathroom pretty much the whole time, it was a whole new perspective lol. He also loved being able to play with all his toys better I then gave him a massage afterwards which I haven't done since he was like 3 weeks old and I tickled his feet and he was laughing, then I would massage his legs towards his feet and he would giggle in anticipation and then laugh when I touched them. Was so cute. I will def start doing it again after a bath, it was a nice bonding moment and he clearly loved it
HI all,
I promise i will catch up but just after if anyone has advice for my little rascal. Ty still sleeps through the night but day sleeps are literally non existant and he is so tired & grumpy. Controlled crying does not work as he will scream for over an hour if i let him (going in every little bit to calm him etc), it's driving me insane, any suggestions would be great!! If he was happy i wouldn;t mind so much but he is SOOOO obviously tired this is just silly!!
Thanks (from a very frustratd mum) xx
The only things I can think of sparkles are, singing to him, giving a massage or taking him for a walk. I'm sorry I have nothing better. I hope you find the answer that works soon coz grumpy babies are no fun
I had this problem with Miss M from 6 wks old. I read "save our sleep" by tizzi hall, & while i didn't agree with.. well, most of it lol, what i did take from it was being in the room to help settle. I modified it to suit our family & it has worked a treat here.
Basically when she wasn't settling in bed & i was having to keep going in, I put a chair next to her cot and would sit there, making no eye contact or talking to her (ignoring her, but if she dropped her dummy I would put it back in without making eye contact), she would drop off to sleep & I would leave (i just played on my ph or read a mag/book while sitting there). This took about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks before she would go down & fall asleep by herself.
She still has 3 x 2hr naps per day, and 95% of the time I put her down & she goes to sleep without me going back, although she often still wakes after 1 sleep cycle (about 40min) I don't get her up, she may play with her toys & sing out for 15min, but then falls back asleep, I used to get her up after that 1 sleep cycle, but then she was still tired from not enough sleep - and as this went on throughout the day, by the arvo she was grumpy & overtired.
It's much easier now she is older, because she can put her own dummy back in her mouth (she ONLY has dummy at sleep time, or in the car)
But I never once had to let her get to that hysterical cry, cause she was happy if I or DF/DD1 was in her room. The whole exercise also made her feel secure in her room which has been awesome, because she knows its her safe sleep space & when she is put in her cot its sleep time.
I should also add we used "wrap me ups" by love me baby until 4.5 months (when she started rolling) and now we use grobags at nightime & a muslin/or cotton "blankie" during the day, Miss M associates these things with sleeping & i reckon having "things" they associate with sleep, like in our case a dummy & blankie - works no question
