MD: bugger :( the universe has different plans for you my dear. i am still banking on it being j k rowling-esque :D
G: oh i missed the bit about the bunnies...that is so devastating :( and what a shock to wake up to
AFM: things are still hectic. DH has a trip the gong today and then again in a few weeks time. at least now it is only a night away. Miss E is still not out of the woods. although we are confident that she is not going to be impacted by her recent spate of seizures development wise. but still have 3 monthly appts. also the neuro called us in and told us that her ECG did not come back normal. it shows that she has a repolarisation abnormality. so now we have an urgent referral to cardio. never ever ends man. and apparently it is all totally unrelated. but i guess my world view is that maybe one thing had to happen to lead us to this point and know about what is going on with her ticker IYKWIM.
-
Thanks for all the hugs lovelies.
MD bummer about the job.
Arte pmsl at your fuel gage story. That's something I would do.
G I'm sorry to hear about your bunny. Loving all the photos of your boys on FB, such good looking kids.
Cass I hope miss E is going to be ok. She is such a cutie. I love seeing her big smiles on FB.
-
Cass, I guess the seizures were some kind of blessing in disguise then. What do you do about the heart problem?
MD, bummer about the job :( On the bright side, at least you didn't call the police lol
Oz, your little nephew is very cute.
My stupid heat pump won't pump hot air when it is too cold. It is driving me batty! The tech guy comes to look at it in the middle of a warmish day and declares it in perfect working order but as soon as it gets really cold when I need it the most it won't work! Just blows fanned air around. It is the only heating in the house and I am freezing! I see the installer getting very sick of my calls in the near future lol
Cass, I was wondering about your ethical meat dilemma. Do you have homekill butchers around? In the outer suburbs at least? If you can find one then you can probably organise to buy straight from the paddock meat.
-
hi girls, i'm back :)
oz- i'm so sorry for your losses gorgeous. love seeing all your clients on fb. you do such a great job.
arte- hope you've managed to get warm somehow. don't you have a wood fire? did you ever manage to get your hands on that wonderful show 'top of the lake' which was filmed in nz? i think it was quite possibly the best tv series i've ever watched. which is saying a lot, as i love tv!
cass- how is E? one of L's BFFs from school had a seizure on friday and was taken away in an ambulance. so scary! he is back home now but needs to see a specialist :( thank you for saying my boys are good looking :) i think they are total spunks but then i am biased lol have been receiving so many compliments lately on J's clothes choices. the mums at school call him the eccentric rockstar cos he rocks up in braces, scarves and sunglasses.
md- sorry about the job. they don't realise what they're missing!!!
cally- i mustve missed the bit about a new car? what car are you getting? jealous!!! i was supposed to get a new car and dh was going to take my old commodore, but he ended up getting a brand new hilux instead!!! anyways, i guess i'm next in line for one now lol
-
We're getting an Hyundai I30. Pick it up on Friday.
Had to work this weekend. We had a landslide on the highway between here and Canberra so I had to go up and check everything was still under control (single lane traffic, fence being repaired). Luckily I now have a fortnight off, wouldn't have been too happy if I was back at work tomorrow.
So we head up to the Gold Coast tomorrow. Hopefully the weather is good to us! I would love to go on a holiday where someone else did all the packing - it almost turns me off having to work out what to take.
G - I am very impressed with your jigsaw puzzles, how long do they take you?
Arte - grr at your heat pump!!
Cass - poor Miss E, how quick do you get in with an urgent referral, ie is it this week?
MD - sorry about the job news.
-
G, no wood fire here :( I was just thinking about that tv series the other day but couldn't remember its name. I will have a hunt around for it now :)
Have a great holiday Cally!
Is it school holidays there? Ours are two weeks away. We are going to visit the IL's. The kids are very excited about going on a plane.
-
Sort of school hols. Qld re one week in, NSW start today, ACT one more week of school. Not sure about the others.
-
SA one more week of school.
-
How is everyone?
I went online shopping crazy today and got all the DD's birthday presents bought. Today I am the queen of organisation. Still not sure what to get W.
I am sick :(
-
Hey Arte, well done on getting that birthday shopping done! Mind you it's probably a busier month, birthday-wise, in your house than for most of us. LOL. I'm heading out today to pop a couple of things on layby. I was going to get DH along for imput, but, well, he cramps my toy-shopping style. Are you feeling a bit better yet? Is your heating working properly again?
Cass, good to see you're getting a bit of R&R in. How's the squirrel going now, have you been to the cardio yet?
Cally - so I think it's safe now to ask how you're liking the new car? :) All that landslide talk was very impressive, even if it did eat into your weekend. I hope you're having a lovely time on the GC - soaking up sunshine and relaxation.... so nice!
Well, it's cold and rainy just in time for the weekend again . Why can't the sunshine line up with the leisure time? Would love to get the kids out to a park or something today, but one look out the window de-inspires that thought. Le sigh. Hopefully there will sun later in the week when my leave starts.
-
hello lovelies!
Arte: hope you are not too freezing cold over there! here's to the heating working!!
re the meat: we are not allowed to buy commercially farm killed meat. some regulation issue blah blah blah. but a friend has sheep and i am concocting a plan to have us hire a mobile butcher and then buy a deep freezer hahahaha!
Cally: hope you are having a grand time at the GC :D
MD: DH also totally cramps all my shopping activities. it always ends with me stomping off and him yawning incessantly
G: man, your kids are always totally decked out in awesome clothes! Always so impressed by the styling...i realised on the drive home from our break that i have zero style kudos for either myself or the family hahahahaha. I need some Ginger inspiration lol!
how was your friends child after the seizure? did they work out what was going on?
AFM: we had a lovely trip to the grampians. just what we all needed. although the two big kids got sick, but only colds thank goodness. so hopefully it will all pass quickly.
Miss E had her first small seizure in 2 weeks today :( bit bummed. was hoping that we had seen the last of them...ho hum. hopefully we get into cardiology this coming week. otherwise it will be the week after. i want to get it all out of the way. hate all the waiting.
-
Car is great. Had my first drive this morning. 6 gears takes a bit of getting used to and I managed to stall twice in the car park because it was in 3rd, not 1st. So many cool features like keyless start, reversing camera, dual zone climate control.... Now to persuade DH that I should be taking that car each day.....
Cass - hope you get into the cardio soon. Bummer about the seizure.
MD - I hate weather like that. It's a beautiful day here, we've just had a Sports Day set up in the backyard.
Niece is visiting us for two nights. The two of them are having a ball.
Arte - well done on the shopping. DH bought a couple of big Lego Friends sets a while back so they are all wrapped and ready for birthday / Christmas.
Holiday was good. Seaworld was a hit as was putt-putt golf. DD had a ball just going for rides in the lift. I really enjoyed the chocolate ****tails.....
-
Cally, new car sounds awesome! I think the keyless thing would be really handy. I finally have a back window back in my car, so I am happy enough with that for now lol Holiday sounds good too.
MD, are you doing anything special for your leave? Or the regular school holiday thing? Feeling better now, except for the half a lung I cough up every now and then.
Cass, I think that your sheep plan is what I was referring to. Here you can hire home kill butchers that come to your land and kill a beast and take it away to process it. I currently have a freezer totally packed with beef from a cow mum had killed a few weeks ago. It must happen quite a bit because there is always a few weeks of wait time before he gets to her.
Bummer about the new seizure :( I hope you get into the cardio soon xx
Off to the south island in a few days. Kids are looking forward to the plane ride.
I got an appointment in the mail to get my tubes tied next month. I figured if 3 years and an accident baby aren't enough for DH to do something then I may as well do it myself.
-
Hi girls!
Cally: ohhhhh! the new car sounds fabulous! we test drove the 7 seater prius and it has the keyless thing and rearview camera...so cool!
MD: hope that there was a smidgen of sunshine for your weekend. we are having glorious sunny days during the week ATM.
Arte: i hope to be able to do that soon with the homekill meat. here in this house we have no room for a freezer (unless i have an outdoor one :lol).
AFM: last night we, along with what seemed like half of melbourne plunged into blackout darkness. we have had 3 major blackouts at our place in one week but this time it was HUGE! it covered 4-5 suburbs! quite freaky and rather zombie-attack style panic ensued in the streets lol.
-
LOL, the beginning of the end. What is causing the blackouts? Time to move to the country :) Seriously, you won't regret it a bit. I would never move back to a city while the kids are at home. We are probably moving in a couple of years and I have already added the proviso that we get a place with a few acres so we can get a pony :)
-
i am so super keen to get out of the city. at least for some years...i need to get back to more space and less people. i will miss some of the perks of the city (i dont hate it) but do feel ready to leave.
oh, and BTW...massive news about the tubes being tied! how do you feel about it? i cannot fathom it...yet lol.
-
I know you aren't ready for the permanency options yet - I stalk the HB thread and there are more and more little mentions of a possible #4 :)
I am fine with getting tubes done. It doesn't even feel like a big decision, just a natural progression. Erin is dropping her day nap and nearly toilet trained - I feel like the baby days are long behind me.
-
Cass - your trip to the Grampians sounds divine. Sorry to hear Miss E has had another seizure, hopefully they will be few and far between. I hope you get the cardio appt soon, waiting is the absolute pits.
Cally, the car sounds great! I could go a chocolate ****tail or two and a round of putt-putt myself.
Arte, I hope your holiday goes well (and BIL behaves himself). I note you're not signing up for a repeat of the camper-van trip LOL. Plane trip = real holiday.
Well, the sunshine was awesome today... right in the middle of my working week again. haha. Forecast for Thurs (1st day off) is for "light rain" and it just goes downhill from there. Someone's having a joke at my expense (*shakes fist at sky*). Nothing special happening for my leave. In fact I'm only taking it because they cancelled a week of DH's leave. Am feeling the absence of family recreation/trips right now. All the pyjama days in the year don't make up for a decent change in the scenery.
