that must be hard kaz :( did they tell him to freeze sperm before treatment??
DD isnt having a sleep today eekkk decided to try without today in the hope she goes down easier tonight and stay asleep, lets hope it works!
i weighed and measured DD yesterday and shes 12.7kg and 94cm

He tried back in late October when he was an in-patient and before chemo started but he was too sick to produce a sample. (He was very close to being intubated to support his breathing and he struggled to shower himself unasisted, was coughing up blood all day, in pain etc etc).
We tried again before this current round of treatment started but it was only 2 months (at best) since the previous chemo stopped so it wasn't long enough for the sperm to return. All the testing did was confirm he is infertile.
-
Kaz. That must be so hard on you all. Hang in there. Xxx
E has croup and is quite unwell. We also just had to rid the kids of headlice!
I am mortified. It makes me I'll thinking about them living in their hair! I know they will prob get it again in the future, but Ewwww.

Oh lilima hugest  for you and DD. I hope she is pain free. How stressful for you all.
det - 160 hours :o it's pretty exciting though too!
DS didn't have a day sleep at all yesterday and right before bed he lost the plot completely. Was horrible. He got into such a state he was nearly vomiting but I couldn't stop (was getting him out of the bath when it happened) as we only had another 10mins to get him through the routine to bed and although I felt terrible I would have felt worse calming him down only to upset him again when drying/dressing/teeth brushing etc. The minute we walked into his room he started to settle and he went straight down but we still had some wake ups overnight  I think they are hear to stay for now. Just got back from the first resettle now.
Thinking of you and DD lilima. xx
-
Forgot to say it was arm. Sharing in a room of 4. Lights blaring. So I bet not much sleep for either of us.
-
omg boof finally just went to sleep now
that is it- NO MORE DAY SLEEPS FOR BOOF!!!!
-
Oh no! Poor E - I hope she gets through it all ok and you managed some sleep last night. How stressful for you all! He did she do it?
Det - Good luck with the move, I hope you get back online soon.
Kaz - Big hugs hun - you are doing such a good job!
-
yikes det!! thats late (or early ;) )
Lilima i hope things went ok today and you're both home asap!
No more day sleeps here :( our choice...but she now goes down and is asleep in 5 mins and sleeps all night
-
lilima how is E going??
day 6 (i think) of no day sleeps and sleep is much better, shes been waking the past few nights and needs resettling, often its just to tell me she loves me or because shes lost her bubba figureine (very annoying)
-
Aw Olive... that's kinda sweet that she wants to tell you she loves you!
We're still having day sleeps, cross fingers it'll go for a bit longer... I so need the down time. Today we got an almost 3hr sleep out of her (after swimming!), she still went down ok at 7.30pm and we'll see what time she wakes tomorrow morning. DS has become the bad sleeper in our family! Basically comes to bed with us when we go to bed and stays there for the rest of the night. I'm too tired to be bothered with anything else!
Kaz - how are you and your boys?
Lilima - how's the patient? Hope she is feeling better!
Det - GL with the move hun... let me know if you think there's anything I can help with!
-
Hi all, been bit slack posting in here, I catch on more on FB now I think.
Meg- Hows E? What a shock bout broken arm. How long is she in plaster for? Much pain?
Kaz- Big hugs, its not fair all this stuff with the fertility worries, as if you need anything more to stress you after everything going on already. Hope you at least getting some sleep/ rest.
Det- How is the countdown to moving? I hate packing! At least good chance to get rid of a whole heap stuff.
Thankfully we still have couple hours day sleep here. But they do stuff round bit at night, keep yelling out to each other, Ash gets up and down, if Emily wasn't still in her cot I'm sure she'd be in and out too.
Have just sent of kinder application for 4yr old. Can't believe how early its gotta get in.
Emilys fave word at the moment is "shut up". Plus she getting bit of an attitude learnt from Ash.
-
Handing out hugs to all who need it... yeah I'm looking at you Kaz in particular and Lilima.
DS likes being chased too and lately it's been a lot of hard work to get anything on him (nappies, clothes, socks, shoes, jackets). So sick of fighting him - well not fighting but you knwo what I mean -
"let's change your nappy."
"no" (runs off)
"Let's put your jacket on."
"no" (runs off)
I'm having a blah day today - "just wish i was a zalillionaire then I'd pay someone to do everything for me" day.
-
i am back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol
gone through and come out the otherside!!!
just lol
-
Hi girls,
Quick question about whether your kids are doing this too as I'm not sure what to make of it. DS has been doing this a couple of weeks now and it drives me bonkers!
Not all the time but at least once a day and sometimes multiple times. He usually wants lots of cuddles throughout the day. I have no drama with that. I get it. At times he says he wants a cuddle but then gets a bit upset and then moves away from me, sometimes even pushes me away or struggles to get out of my arms then sits on the other side of the room and still calls for cuddles. If I go to him he runs/moves further away. If I stay where I am and tell him to come to me he gets louder with more whinging and sometimes even crying. Says over and over "cuddle mummy". It goes like this for a few minutes and then eventually he will come to me or allow me to go to him or we meet half way and have another cuddle. It drives me crazy that he says he wants one and then rejects it. It is usually, although not always triggered by him having to wait (briefly) until I finish something. I'm talking a few seconds to a minute at most. I'm not 100% on this though. Is it normal or is it about what is happening with DP do you think? What can I do? It's seriously so frustrating!!
His sleep is all over the show atm but he's been a bit sick so we know why. Still no sign of 2yr old molars and I'm dreading them!! Anyone got any yet?
Currently have the MiL here for the weekend. She has been ok so far but still tends to play with him when it suits her. Earlier today he made her a cup of tea and gave it to her but she didn't even pretend to drink it, just put it on the bench and talked about how she was going to have a cup of tea after her breakfast. Later when she wanted to have it with him, he'd moved on and was up to a different game. All morning it's been like that so he's spent more time with me and DP than her. He will stop asking her soon (as in another few visits like this and he will learn not to bother) so I really hope she works out that she has to follow his lead a little bit to be more involved.
Hope you guys all have an awesome day tomorrow with your kids. We are all so lucky to have them. xx
-
Kaz - I had this this morning with Miss J. Grizzling wanting to be picked up then wriggling to be put down. Nothing would make her happy! She is now alseep in bed so I think she was feeling tired and overwhelmed. She has all her 2yo molars except for the last half which is breaking through now and also making her clingy and whingy. So it could have something to do with the behaviour.
-
Kaz- DD hasn't done that but I think her most used phrase is 'I need a cuddle!!!!!!!!' All the time! She's going through a Mummy phase. It's probably just him testing out his independence and trying to show you he can do/have whatever he wants, when he wants, lol. We have a lot of that atm but in different ways.
DD got all her 2yo molars before she was too and they weren't even bad actually, don't worry :)
Are there any more teeth to get?? I thought that was all of them, she has 20. But the past week she's been saying 'I got sore mouth' all the time and pointing and at the back down the bottom is white like when they're going to get a tooth, wtf? Didn't think there was any more. Maybe it just always looked like that but I hadn't looked before.
-
be back later....but Heaven, 20 baby teeth are it!
-
Oh phew! Thanks Olive. Glad she's done with teething.
-
Yep 20 is it. Could it be an ulcer?
-
Hi everyone! I am so excited...we finally have fast internet...woo hoo...what was taking hours is now instant!!! So joining in will be a whole lot easier!
Miss A is doing the running away thing....and the tantrums omg it is something to see...I keep telling myself it's normal...it is...right????
I have alot of reading to do to catch up on everyone's news so forgive me for being all over the place for a bit x
-
Hi Ellie!! I can't believe your DD2 will be one in a few days!
Good to hear that other 2 year olds are doing similar things. And Heaven you have my hopes up now that DS's molars won't be too bad  Bet they're a nightmare!! Glad DD1s were ok for you both.
GTG.

With E, it is all about "hold hands". it is driving me insane. she jsut wants to hold hands all the time. Sleep is still hit and miss atm. Because she has a cast on, sometimes when she rolls over, she clocks herself with it, and wakes up.
First xray shows that it is going ok. Another xray on THursday.
I hope everyone had a wonderful mothers day!
-
Oh the arm in the cast sucks! I don't know if I even got round to sharing that Miss A broke her arm on Fathers Day last year...ended up with Scarlet Fever and Hand Foot and Mouth from the hospital...I am sooooo feeling you pain Lilma...how much longer is the cast on for?
My highlight of Mothers Day...Miss A helped pack toys away for the first time ever...that's the highlight as DH (mmm funny how those two letters are the first letters of what I'd really like to call him!) decided Mothers Day was a non event this year...not even a card...I am shattered...my first MDay with Miss T and not a single keepsake...so I'm going to go and get myself a pandora charm tomorrow so at least I can tell her that's what I got to celebrate being her mum...I got a birth stone charm for Miss A's first Mday...blah....I feel so hurt...and premenstral ...no chance of number 3 here!!!!
-
-
Ellie I would have some choice words for him!
E has developed impetigo on her nose and mouth. From hospital as well no doubt!
-
Hehehe...went to the post office today and asked if they had any left over Mothers Day cards...bought the lot and put it on his visa card lol!!!!! Have left them on the kitchen bench...this should be FUN!
Hope everyone else is having a productive day...
-
Ellie... Go you good thing!
Let us know what he says...
-
Hahaha Ellie! Well done! Let us know what he says.
My friend sent DP a book about Mothers and Daughters and told him to give it to me as she had heard that I didn't get any gifts
-
While we are on the topic... I bought my own gift a while ago and gave it, along with a "happy birthday mummy", "happy birthday wife" and "happy mothers day" cards to DH. I was sure that way I'd actually get a nice day.
Bah was I wrong!! Oh well.
Nai - did you like your gift?
Back on the topic of our kids - DD has started waking at night a bit, she seems scared? At what age do dreams start??
-
 Ellie
OP- DD has been doing the same thing. She says she's scared too, and has told me a couple of times something about a 'scary monster' Usually it's when she wakes up though because it's still dark now when she wakes I think. She seems scared of the dark now.
-
good work ellie!!
lilma how is E going with the arm and the sores?
OP with the wake ups, DD2 has been waking again for the past few weeks  mainly just for a cuddle, she slept through last night (thankyou rescue remedy and magnesium spray) so hoping that continues. DD has a nightlight, its a blue star that ive covered with blue celophane so its not so bright and becuase blue is a 'sleep colour' rather than the yellow light.
-
The arm had to be re stayed on Thurs. It had moved do they had to saw off the cast and put on a new one. She was terrified. The new one is fiberglass so much lighter. She has to have another xrsy on Monday. They have said that if it has moved that she will need to have it re broken and set again. So really hoping that it goes well on Mondy. The impetigo is not too bad.
They found that when they removed the cast her skin integrity was not the best at her elbow. So they hopefully that turns out ok.
I had a good mothers day. Itvwas actually the next day as dh was working on. The actual day, but a nice day nonetheless.
So if you had a bad MD you have a few months to plan the perfect fathers day to make them feel bad about their effort for mothers day.
-
what do you mean the skin integrity??
i hope they dont need to rebreak it :(
-
Means that she had an open wound from the cast. They treated it but because it s covered by the cast they are not sure how it will heal
-
Lilima that all sounds too much for one little bubba!
Miss A wandered out to see us last night....first time in ages...took her ages to get back to sleep...so maybe dreaming?
So...today I get a text asking me to text him the shopping list...which he did on the way home...and walks in the door with flowers...which then caused the girls to have total melt downs because they wanted to play with them...I took great delight in explaining to him that they have never seen him bring me flowers before so it's new for them ....HA HA HA!!!!
-
Glad that heshowed he cares Ellie. I don't think my kids have ever seen DH give me flowers!
-
Ellie- Thats great he bought you flowers, he mustve got the message from all those cards! lol.
Meg- Hope the xray monday goes ok, sounds horrible to have to rebreak, too much for the poor thing to go thru and you too.
OP- DD2 seemed have nightmares couple times, wakes up screaming and calling mummy even when Im holding her and she's stiff as a board then suddenly she'll go soft and cuddle into me and go calm.
Things not so good here, Df and I are having issues, don't want to go into detail on public forum but we'll see what happens.
