So since the start of October, I have successfully managed to:
Run one samsung galaxy phone over with the car.
Destroy one Kindle
Crash and ruin one laptop hard drive.
Lose another Samsung Galaxy phone.
My replacement Kindle is now in a case and I carry it with care. The laptop had the hard drive replaced and DH had to use some forensic software to recover the information (and hopefully DS's baby photos). And as for mobile phones, I am so sick of them, I think I'll just live without one for awhile, considering I just went on a new plan with Virgin mobile in September.
The lesson here is never, ever let me near technology :D :o

AFU - 2 wees on the potty today! Massive breakthrough :leap: Although will have to wait and see if it is an ongoing thing.....

Knee is ok. Still on crutches, but only one crutch now. I am shatteredcby the end of te day after caring for kids. DH is training with the new motorcycle unit of paramedics, so not home. Don't even get me started on what I think of that. He will be back working metro. We left metro life for a reason, and now he is going back. I am actuall really ****ed off about it. Also longer commute, for 5 mins to 1 hour, so away from home more.
I start physio on the weekend. Back on a stationary bike next week. (I loathe) and then hopefully a regular bike by the end of the month.
Kids have been fantastic considering. J has become emotional again though. Crying when I leave him at childcare. He also came home after an hour at his friends house, because he misses me, and wants to be with me constantly.
Ellie - great big :hug: hun; I had no idea that DD had sensory issues :redface: It's fantastic that they're onto it this early though because it means the interventions and managements will have a much bigger (positive) impact than if she was already in school etc. I hope you can find a support group - either in here or IRL. Take care.
Malyna - Wow :o talk about walking nightmare LOL!! I hope it was just a run of bad luck and the tech breaking fairy goes away. Sounds expensive!

AFU - currently waiting on the results of a whooping cough swab for DS. It has been going through his childcare for a couple of months. There have been 8 cases in his room in the past month or so and he can't return until he's either tested negative or had 5 days worth of the WC antibiotic. Its a bit of a minor panic for me because DP's immunity has been totally wiped and he's building it back but can't have immunisation shots for another 9 months so :crossfingers: he doesn't get it! Of course DP is totally casual about it and is having just as much contact with DS as ever. Plus we visited his 70-something parents on the weekend and DS was coughing down there so they could have been exposed too.

AFM op went well, still can't drive but it's ok because DH has 4 weeks off, no more pain which is good. Took 6 days to get over the GA :o
DD2 is really difficult ATM...driving me nuts
So DS was positive for Whooping cough, in the middle of his antibiotics course I started to cough and got sick with flu like symptoms, (thought I was going to die :rofl: ) then a couple days after me DP started. We tested negative for WC so I think it's just the flu. It's still hanging around now even though it's not wanted :lol: DS was back in care last week, finished his anti-biotics on the weekend and then got sent home at lunchtime yesterday with temp of 39.2. So now we're all at home again waiting to see what it turns into. Dr. yesterday wasn't sure - thought viral but he doesn't have any other symptoms, a bit of a runny nose but nothing that major and he responded well to panadol yesterday so who knows?
olive - 6 days is a long time!! I'm so glad you're not in pain. DS drives me crazy with the 'why?' questions and the constant changing of his mind every 2 seconds. I know it's normal and he's not that well but it's doing my head in!!

Well Miss J is pretty much day TT'd now. She just decided and that was it. Pretty much accident-free since then. She has been dry about 80% of nights as well although I still put a nappy on for her sleeps. She is also doing much better with her behavioural issues so I think she has turned a corner.

Doing ok here. DD actually bringing me a lot of joy right now. DS, mostly, but he's at that annoying "can't talk, want things but can't communicate" phase so he gets frustrated easily and throws little tantrums all the time. Incredibly frustrating.
DD pretty much toilet trained. She still wears a nappy to bed but I'm thinking about taking it off soon as she wakes up dry most mornings. Haven't quite decided to take that plunge yet. We've got kinder orientation in a week - eeeek scary!
Kaz, that's no good about DS getting WC and now possibly something else. I really hope its something not serious that clears up soon!
Olive - how are you hun? I've been thinking of you. The GA knocked me around a bit too.
Nai - hope the sale goes well, I'm not going to make it this time!

I'm so slack, I'm a terrible forum buddy. Apologies to everyone. For some reason I wasn't getting email updates from this forum. It could have something to do with my technology "this works for everyone except me, but only works when DH is standing behind me and I'm whining about it not working" thing that happens. :D
DS is no where near being TT - he'll sit on a potty, leap off yelling "Ta-daaa" and then go "Ohh, no poo". Although now he'll take off his nappy when he's ready to, so I have to be on the ball.
Olive - six days for a GA - your system could just be slow at getting rid of it (not sure hun).
How was everyone's Christmas?
We went back to Adelaide and shared it with DS's cousins (aged 4 and almost 3). It was a blast but DS was sad when we arrived home and Master 4 was in tears.
Now DH is all about painting the house... sigh. Gotta go and play. Take care. Have a great New year guys.

Had a great Christmas. I just love watching their little faces light up. Especially DD1 who was really understanding it all this year. She seems so grown up now. I'm not sure if it's coz I have a little baby too but she doesn't seem like a baby now :( She talks like an adult, and wants to do EVERYTHING by herself. It's a little sad that she doesn't need me as much any more. I am loving how affectionate she is though. I hear 'I love you so much Mummy' lots of times a day, melts my heart.
Hi everyone! Still here but like even one just crazy busy :)
Had a quiet Chrissy at home as my brother sailed the Sydney to Hobart so we're doing our family get together early next year.
How big are our babies now!?! Miss A uses the potty first thing in the morning and before her bath but that's about it ... We have had days where she has used it all day but then loses interested so just following her lead ... At this rate Miss T (19 months already) could be TT before her lol!
I have lost 18kg and feeling in a much better head space ... Most of the time ... Miss A starting daycare may have something to do with it too :)

Yesterday I became a Great Aunt again! A beautiful little girl. 7lb 11oz. Don't know any other details, but her name (which I won't post here). Have seen a photo. She's gorgeous! So excited I'm going to burst.

We had a great Christmas then last tues booked 2 nights way..left Thursday lol!!
DD had ENT appointment just before Christmas, was 18 month grommet check, grommets were out nd in canel ( yes I've kept them) left ear was fine, right has glue ear again :( so shes booked in to have grommets back in again in both ears and adenoids out! Earliest I could get in was the day before DD1 starts school :/
Olive - that's a pile of poo for the timing for the grommets to go back in.
Working on my CV.. I hate applying for jobs... sigh... :(

Looks like DD is toilet trained!! Started yesterday, 6 accidents later we got 2 on the potty, then today no accidents!! She's taken herself to the toilet or potty all day! She did poo on her undies but that's to be expected!
Yay! She'll be there before you know it. Miss j decided one day and that was it, only a handful of accidents. She has been totally nappy free for a month or so now, even at night. We went away to Adelaide and then camping at Xmas and I was a bit worried but she had no accidents at all. Couldn't believe it. Girls are so stubborn but when they get it they just go.
That's awesome nai!! They must have just been ready!! I think DD will be in night nappies for a while yet. I've also removed her bedrail....too grown up :(
We're still in night nappies too! Think we will be for a while!
Friend of mine said today "I think DS might be ready for TT" - he is two weeks younger than my DS :o So yeah, 18 months. I'm like "Right! Just umm take your time I guess! Go with his cues, don't force anything!"
My two start child care tomorrow. I think it'll be good for them.

OP - I'm like you, wondering when DS will be ready to TT.
DS's first day at Daycare, I was anxious with all the "Am I doing the right thing" thoughts. He loved it. Came home, was a little clingy but within an hour was willing to give me up for time with his dad. He had fun, although he did go walkabouts through the centre because they left the door open and had to be reminded that he can't do that. He's back tomorrow, so will see how he goes then.
Cannot believe that 3rd birthday's are just around the corner.
I wasnt 100% su re DD was ready I just decided to use summer as a chance to try lol!
She was dry overnight :o I'm so shocked!!!
As for birthdays it's crazy isn't it!! Ive bought most of DD stuff, had it all before Christmas lol
I think I might try DS with the TT for the rest of hte week.
What technique did you use? not sure if I'm organised to do the 30 minutes after drinking sitting him on the potty thing.

When do we start changing from more adults than kids at the birthday party to more kids, less adults? Is that about now? DD seems to have quite a few "friends" she wants to come to her birthday :lol:
Malyna - what's your book called again? I got a Kindle for Christmas!
We didn't use a particular technique for TT - just said to her "right, big girls wear undies, no more nappies!" and then if it had been two hours without a wee, I'd take her to the toilet and ask her to try and do wees. That's about it!

Seeming I'm on holidays i thought i better post rather than lurk and read. Although I catch most of you on Facebook so know what everyone is up to.
Olive- my biggest tip is when you decide to leave the house with no nappy on DD2, visit the bathroom as soon as you get to your destination (ie. shops, someones house) and then do what you have to do. Oh and keep some spare knickers and shorts/skirt/whatever in your handbag or car JIC1 :)
OP- How did the kids go at kindy? DD is gettting a trampoline from all of the family (everyone is putting in for it) but what I have noticed that she loves lately is those carpark/petrol station wooden toys that are 2 stories and you drive cars around on IYKWIM ;) its a 'boys' toy but it doesnt really matter. We might get her that as well. She got a scooter from Santa that she LOVES!!!! Best $20 from kmart we ever spent and she takes it everywhere and is really good at it, so if DD doesnt have a scooter then maybe that is something to get?

Malyna- Glad DS liked kindy. Ash loves hers and she learns so much and I am told she is such a good girl for them (pity she just plays up for her mummy)!

Heaven- I cant believe DD2 is walking!!!! Far out they grow up quickly!
Ellie- Congrats on the weightloss!!! That is fantastic!! You should be very proud. I am on the band wagon again!
Kaz- Hope you enjoyed the child free weekend. How did DS go? I am sure he had a blast. We are at the stage now where DD goes happoly to stay at the grandparents for the day or night and waves goodbye happily. It is lovely.

I'll give you all an update on us!
We are doing well here. this year I am working full time again but going to spend less time on work and more time on me and my family. I want to get up at the same time in the morning but go for a walk instead of going to work early. i want to come home and have patience for DD and I want to spend more time with DH and just talk about him and me. Hopefully I can do it! :)
With TT we were really lucky that DD saw all the kids at daycare using the little toilets and wanted to have a go as well. She got it in 3 days and has been TT for 6 months now. Night time toilet trained as well but has had 3 nights over the past 6 months where she has had an accident. I was impressed with her in the car on the drive to QLD because she was able to hold it for ages! Soemtimes she would say she needed to go and we didnt want to stop at some yucky place so would wait for a fast food joint or a big petrol station and she would have held on.
DD is continuing to do 2 full days at her daycare this year but is doing the 3 year old pre-school program at the centre. They have an outstanding program and I am continually shocked at what she learns, but more so her compassion she has for other children. When I pick her up she will say to the one or two hovering around near me "dont worry, your mummy will be here soon, I will see you later." and then she has to go around and hug each of her friends and carers, it is lovely to see.
She loves to sing and is always singing songs about everything and I have noticed that her speech and pronunciation is becoming much clearer now we got rid of the dummy.
Eating wise she has always been a good eater but is such a grazer and will rarely eat a whole meal unless it sausages with tomato sauce or scrambled egg (one of her favs).
One thing we have a constant battle over is teeth brushing. I am scared. She HATES brushing her teeth. We have about 6 different toothbrushes (from plain to dora to glow in the darK) and wiggles toothpaste and dora toothpaste and for the life of me and her I cant get her to brush her teeth. It sounds like I am murdering her when I hold her down to do it. We have sung songs, played games doing it and still its a battle. Any tips and advice???
I just put her in undies... She seemed to understand after the 6th accident lol, I didn't make a big deal out of the accidents either, but looking back now I truely believe she was ready (I wasn't really).
DD is getting a run bike, pillow pet, magnetic fairy thing, I also want to get her a wooden cupcake/cake set.

Ali, you said you have sung songs, did you try a teeth brushing song? DD loves it when I sing the "brush teeth" song - for as long as I am singing the song, I get to brush her teeth, then she can have a go once the song has finished. The song goes like this "Brush brush brush your teeth til they gleam, brush brush brush your teeth til they're clean, brush them in the morning, brush them at night, brush them til they're out of sight!" :lol:
Or something like that! Completely made it up, sing it to whatever tune I feel like, change the words when I forget :lol: But it works to get me brushing her teeth and then she can have a play with the toothbrush when I am done. Its not very long but its enough for me to be sure that her teeth get a good clean.
Ali - I can't give you any advice on the teethbrushing - DS is the same. It works when we all brush our teeth at the same time, and sometimes race to see who finishes first or who finishes last or whatever it takes on that particular day to get him to brush. DS brushes for DH but not for me, so we sometimes do good cop/bad cop. Wow your DD is going great guns. That's awesome that she's been TT so long and is so good holding on - better than me. I think I know every public toilet between here and 10km down the road, let alone QLD. Sounds like she is just like her mum, caring for the other little ones :-D
OP - Go into the kIndle books and search for Acacia Green. Book is called Pulse. I'm the only Acacia Green on there (which is why I chose that name). I'm going to edit the book (again) because there are a few typos in there, which I need to fix and will hopefully start doing in the next week.
AFM - I have rekindled my desire for a treadle sewing machine. Might ask for one for my mother's day/birthday/christmas presents for this year. Nothing much else is happening, except I'm painting the house - ugh!

Did M's measurements today, she's 14.6kg and 102cm
Olive I measured DD the other day and she was 96cm and 14kg. Is 3 years old the age where you can predict their height when they are older? hmm off to google....
I thought it was at 2 ali
