Haha Mel I'm having random boob leakages all over the shop!
Meanwhile is it normal for newborns to feed ALL the time? She's either asleep or attached to the boob, has hardly any awake time not feeding. Will feed for up to an hour at a time-half hour on each side....
EM- sounds normal to me from what I've read on here. DD3 feeds every 2-2.5 hours but only for about 10 mins per side. Unless it's after a long sleep, then it's about 20 mins each side :)
Kylz - I'd take him to a GP, just to get checked out to see if it is. It's much better when they are medicated for it. :hug: (even though I didn't use standard medicine for my kids, I went the "hippy" route hehe)
Kate - I know I've said it before but ouch to 3rd degree!!! I have to keep reminding myself not to squat and give my tear a chance to heal.

Well, Grace just has to be the most perfect baby on the planet, LOL. Had her weighed day 4 and she had only lost 115grams which the nurse said was great. She gets weighed again on Monday when we go for our baby and mummy checkup. She feeds, sleeps, feeds, sleeps with a little bit of "looking around" time in her bouncer in between. Twice she has slept for 8 hours at night and the other nights she will sleep for about 6 hours. If she has lost more weight or hasn't put much on when we go to the doc on Monday I will start waking her at night for feeds though. When she wakes for a feed she just lays there in her hammock squirming and grunting, lol, the only time she ever cries is in the bath and sometimes when she is getting dressed, she doesn't seem to like being nudey rudey.
All the kids just adore her, and Jack has been totally hypo and SO loud since we brought her home! I think she is used to it though from when she was in my tummy, he was always talking to her and jumping all over me, she doesn't even flinch now when he is yelling the place down, lol. (and yes, her hearing test was perfect, lol)
Anyway, gotta go Mitchell brekky, he has footy today :)

i thought by now she would be ok with it, but shes still not, screamed the whole way threw, and for half hour after, normaly shes fine once dressed and having boob the other kids had started to love there baths by now, once she finnished screaming she sat there with a horrified look on her face untill 20 mins ago (had bath at 10;30) when she finaly took boob and is now asleep... she seems to get worse each time she has one. im realy hoping she gets use to it, its the only time i have any real dramas with her.
sarah, jayden is the same so he has a shower with DH now. I have bathed him in the big bath with a terry towling bath seat and he like that. Shower is so much easier though. I just dont have the arm strength to do it.

Sarah, Dh gives K a bath each night as part of his routine.. He still screams, not as much as before but still screams. : ( Btw I was the same as Kylz with dd. The shower with my ex is how we did it. Just was easier.. Now however, just the idea of it scares dh... Hope it gets easier soon. xx

Wyatt loves the bath as long as he is on his hammock bath insert thingy. He also loves the shower.
You could try getting in the bath with her, just you two with no other kids or distractions around. Sounds relaxing :D

Maz - Yay on Grace only losing 115g! And sleeping for 8 hours! I'm jealous lol we're lucky if Elise sleeps for 3 hours.
My DS is the same as Jack, all hyperactive and loud. I'm dreading wednesday when hubby goes back to work, not sure how I'll cope with both all on my own.
Sarah - Elise is the same, she lays there all shocked for a few minutes and then starts crying. DS was the same at first too, but got better after a month or so.
Hi everyone else, tried to catch up on persies, but Elise is having another screaming attack so I have to attend to her between trying to eat lunch and catching up on here.
afm - Elise has colic, so we haven't been getting much sleep since getting home, though last night was better than the night before, even with DS waking up crying every hour.
It breaks my heart every time she starts screaming and arching her back, it's worse when trying to BF, as she'll suck for a few seconds and then start screaming, and she'll be so hungry that she'll scream more, and then she'll scream between feeds, and she has so much gas it isn't funny anymore, poor thing.
We gave in the other night and bought some formula, as she feeds a lot more at night and I can't always express enough for every feed (she's drinking 60-70mls a feed already!), though there's currently 250mls of EBM in the fridge at the moment, first time there's ever been that much in there at any one time lol I just have to cut down on how often I express now to regulate my supply, easier said than done because the engorgement is so so painful!
Hubby has just gone out to get something for the colic after the midwife called to see how we were going this morning and suggested we get something for her, and tomorrow Elise will be having her newborn screening and heel***** and get weighed, so it will be interesting to see if all the feeds have made her put on weight already.
DS is in love with her now, after he didn't want anything to do with her the first 2 days. This morning he came up to her while I was burbing her and wrapped his arms around her and gave her the biggest, gentlest hug. Was so sweet, wish I'd had the camera handy to take a photo.

sarah: Chase loves the bath :) he hated it when he was first born when we had to hold him to bathe him but as soon as we got home and laid him down on that ramp thing you put in the bath he loves it. Just lies there with big wide eyes and kicks his legs. Do you have one of those seat things for inside the bath? I've never showered with him thought! I'd be too afraid of dropping him when he is all slippery LOL
LMP: Im definitely keen for a meet up!!! See the new bubbas!! We can play pass the bubbas around the table LOL
Jenna: You poor thing and poor Elise. I had to look up what colic was and it doesn't sound fun at all, I can't imagine what i would do with a constantly screaming baby, its hard enough for me when Chase screams for a little while. On the up side it's so great that your DS loves Elise now, I love seeing protective big brothers/sisters. Did ur hubby end up getting something for her? Did it work?

I had the worst day with Chase yesterday. From midday to 10.30pm he was just unsettled. I'd get him to sleep in my arms and then as soon as I put him down he would wake up and get upset, grunting and such. I nearly had a breakdown, I was so at a loss with what to do with him. He was better overnight though and was easy to put back to sleep when he woke up for a feed. He's crying in his sleep now, just little sni***. Don't know when he turned into such a sooky baby.

Total me post. Chloe screamed from 9.30pm til 3.30am last night. I am dreading tonight. It's from belly pains but don't think its silent reflux or colic,just upset belly. I'm cutting out chocolate,sultanas and stone fruit as I think they upset her little tum :(

try infacol, I use it for Chase. I don't know how long you can continuously keep giving it to the baby but when I dont give it to him before a couple of feeds he ends up with a belly ache but I really think it helped him.
Did u need a script for that kitty?
Sarah- chloe loves her baths as long as she has a big warm washer over her belly and I wash her with another one.
Jenna- :( to elise having colic. Hope u get some sleep soon and your ds calms down.

Man just got chase to sleep after trying not once not twice but three times and the little bugger is prob gonna wake up in half and hour for his next feed...:wall:
on the plus side I suddenly feel like watching Troy just to see brad pitt all muscled and oily so at least I can do that while feeding :)

Well, Amelia is just gorgeous. We had a bit of a rough start to BFing, because someone attached her incorrectly for her first feed while I was still drugged up after birth... Yes, I ended up with an epidural :cry: I console myself with the knowledge that I would have had a c/s otherwise, but still...
Anyway, I was talking about breastfeeding :lol: She's going through a phase of wanting to feed constantly - so much I'm not sure my supply is keeping up - but I'm sticking to it. Got the feeding-laying-down thing going, so with a bit of luck I'm able to nap/sleep through feeds at times :leap: I'll be making some lactation cookies today, and getting some breastfeeding vitamins, to help inflate these boobs a bit more :p

Stephen took him out for a while and snuck him back in once I was asleep. Then he woke up. He is still feeding!

I have a Sooky lala cause all he wants to do is poo and he can't. Must have such a tummy ache. Squirming and grunting really bad. He falls asleep and as soon as u put him down he is awake again.

Ok so.... I love BFing but seriously I've pretty much been doing it since midnight non stop. That's what it feels like anyway!
Ellasmummy it has been part helpful part hindrance. Honestly I'd just like to be alone for even 5mins with H. I haven't had any alone time except the night feeds. Mum and dad have now gone home and MIL leaves tomorrow, so we'll see how we go.
Sarah Hayden loves his baths. He just lays there watching everything and cries as soon as you lift him out.
H has been congested for the past week so he's not sleeping well, plus he constantly wants to be held to sleep. As soon as I put him down he starts crying. We've tried raising the mattress a little but he still wants to be held. I've been rocking him in the pram which works sometimes. I'm also sick and tired and my stomach hurts still and I'm over all these people in my house. Sometimes I'd like to just curl up in bed and sleep the day away until DH gets home from work :-(

I am currently adjusting to this whole stay at home mom thing... It is suiting me quite well atm. : ) I am looking for mothers groups and trying to make plans to just get out of my house. I hope everyone here is adjusting to having the babies home? I know I was losing it last Thursday but seem to be okay now that I am mobile....

Not only is W back to his birth weight, he is 105g over it!!!!!
He put on 260g since thurs!!!!!

Went shopping today looking ffir winter stuff and kmart had stuff from $2 woot. I got a rash vest for $2 a pair of jeans for $5 and other stuff but brain isn't working
J Man decided bed time was 1130 again last night and I coulhfbt sleep today.
Yay for poo! H has been grunting and groaning since midnight but not much happening here.
So... everyone has gone home now... it's just me, DH and H. I have my 2nd mother's group meeting tomorrow, so lets see if I make it there on time lol. Thank gawd it's less than a block's walk from my house!

I am on my sisters laptop so have to be quick.
The moving house is coming along i am hating it but it will be worth it to get away from this idiot owner.
Ella is doing great we had to change bottles from tommy tippee closer to nature ones to avent anti colic ones because she is having trouble sucking the ones that are like a breast and is getting really windy and having lots of pain she is constantly farting poor baby we also changed her formula from S26 gold to original S26 because she was so hungry and wanted to be fed every 2-3 hours now she is feeding every 4-5 hours and only waking for one bottle of a night.
Ella has put on 410 grams since losing 80 grams from her birth weight so she is now 3350 grams which is 7lb 4oz still so little.
And she loves her baths she lays there and loves the water being poured over her belly
BUT! she hates her nappy off every time we change her she crys until her pants are back on LOL hope she stays like that until she is 25 then her pants will never come off.
Anyway i hope everyone is getting enough sleep i know the first few weeks are hard i am lucky DH is still off work he looks after ella when i go to be for the 1st few hours then i take over the later hours if she wakes.
Oh! and my paid parental leave and parenting payment have kicked in nicely i get $969 a fortnight paid parental leave and $800 family tax benefit and then $428 parenting payment so thank god the government has come to the party for working mums who take time off work.
I will try to pop in when i have access to someones computer i do miss you all dont forget me.
Chase weighed 5kg today! And he got his immunisations :( He cried so loud, never seen his face so red lol. My poor little baby. Can't believe he is 2 months old today, bloody hell.
ferrals: LOL about her nappy changes, Chase is the opposite he loves being free as soon as you lift the flap over his junk he straightens out his legs and complains. 'Don't cover my junk mum!' Thats good that she is feeding every 4-5 hours, Chase is still feeding pretty much every 3 hours but last night surprised me by sleeping from 10pm to 5am. I think that was a fluke though LOL Hope you get into your new house quickly so you can come back to us :)
