hmmmm password? Try roxy82
Kylz - Love the pics :) They're great.
Haven't been able to get online for a bit, we all have a bad cold - even Elise has it now the poor thing :(
She got weighed yesterday and was only 90g below her birthweight, yay for that.
Infant's Friend is also our best friend - without it I would have gone nutty. It stops most of Elise's tummy pains and her bad stinky gas too.
Elise usually feeds every 3-4 hours, sleeps for 4-5 hours, and we've only resorted to formula a few times when there's no EBM in the fridge, which there usually is 2 bottles in there at any given time these days, BFing isn't working very well, we try to get her on the boob 3 times day, but she just gets frustrated and stressed out after a few sucks and ends up with worse tummy pain which makes me stressed out and frustrated too, so sticking with the expressing for now, getting between 125mls and 145mls every time, which is a littleover a feed for her - she's been drinking 100-125mls a feed since yesterday!
And last night she slept from 10pm to 5am! Was such a shock as it's the first time she's ever slept for that long! Needless to say, other than the fact that I'm sick and that I woke up at 3:15 needing to express as I was leaking all over the bed, I feel well rested and not too bad :) Amazing what a good nights sleep will do.
Must go, today is my first day home alone with DS & Elise without hubby here, though my stepsister is here for a bit so I'll get her to help out for a while, and my bestie is supposed to be coming around today as well, so I'll get her to steal DS for a while and take him to the park, give me a chance to get some things done around the house while Elise is asleep.
Hope everyone is managing to get some sleep and your bubs are behaving :)
kylz pics are too cute :)
jaki - yay for feeding in public! i fed for the first time at playgroup the other day, although i dont think it really counts seen as it was only me,dh,ella's besties mum who happens to be my bestie, and one other lady haha. tried at the shopping centre, but chickened out and hid in the parents room. great about wyatt's weight gain too!
kitty - woohoo 5kgs! it's so weired to think he is 2 months old now!
jenna - i get the leaky boobs too if dd sleeps for more than 3 hours. which is hardly ever lol.
AFM- have had super heavy bleeding last night and today, has anyone else had this? DD is 2 weeks old today, and bleeding had totally stopped for a day. nothing. so weird dont know whether to get it checked out or if its normal to stop and start.....think chloe has colic :( going to gp tomorrow, we got the infacol, but i dont think its really doing much to help. have only been using it since 3pm feed yesterday so will persevere a bit longer.....meanwhile she screams from 10pm til 2am every frikkin night, then dd1 wakes up at 6am. think i'm going to go nuts when dh goes back to work on saturday. at least at the moment we have one kid each lol. taking her to chiro or osteo hopefully this week, so hope that helps.
Lou mine stopped for a day then i got a heavy bleed a huge clot and then gone.
Infacol wasnt working for jayden eiter. I got infants friend and he is a diff baby.
oooh infants friend, might buy some to have around at crazy time of the night lol. good to know about the bleed, hope mine buggers off soon that would be great lol. x
Kylz how much IF do you give him in one hit?
it says 5-10 drops. so about 7 lol depends how many FF I have given him.
hi girls, have been reading on all of u!!
we are doing good - have midwife coming to see us this arvo n drs tomorrow. feeding is going well, just that it's sore when jack attaches on at start but we think he is slightly tongue tied so will see what my midwife says today. we had a good nite last night - no unsettled period so hopefully we have his day/night on track now. luke is so much better now that we are home and loves helping out
bbl - got to get us ready to head to mum's so midwife can see us
How rude did they give u an exact time they were coming?
LOL snuk on my DS2 laptop using his mobile internet thingy so i cant use to much of his time or he will know.
Infants friend i will have to try my poor girl is constantly grunting and farting in her sleep i feel sorry for her.
Back to packing
has anyone else got a pimply baby? when she was a few days old she had a few bumps, like little pimples on her forhead and past her hair line, the last few days ive noticed it looks like little milk pimples, and i noticed today there on her chest as well as her face....?? not sure if i should be worried or not they seem to come and go, one minute they look red and irritated, the next there almost non-existant df thinks sher might have exmah. i have another mchn appointment to morrow, so will ask then.
also have any of you ladies done the 6 week check-up?? im tossing up weather i should or not as i didnt with ny of the others...
Jayden has them too think its from FF.
My 6 week is this fri. what do they check? Jayden is getting his needles too :(
i doubt its from ff, im only bf...
i dont know what they check.. ive never been to one thats wehy im thinking it might be time... pluss ive got to siort out something so we dont have another bub, 4 is PLENTY i think!
At my 6 week checks, they checked my vagina to check on healing and gave pap smear if needed.
I don't need pap smear this time round, but will have to get them to check peri is healed.
Sarah - S has small pimple like things too, I'm not concerned though, pretty sure they are just milk pimple things.
Hello to everyone else - good to see we are all doing well!
Yeah Wyatt has a few milk pimps, I think they are cute :)
I think I'm due a pap :(
best i go to that check then.....:hide:ive never had a pap:hide:
K has a few too Sarah, then before you know it they are gone.. Have only showed up in the last little while. Also have had the milk ones on his nose and right above, since birth but fading.
Omg. We are talking 6 week check up? Seems like just yesterday we were discussing who was getting the next ultrasound. ; )
I am dying for this check up so I can get the all clear for the gym. Ps Kitty, when did you dtd? I think you said about 3 weeks but not sure.. SOOO keen. lmao.
Btw Ferrals, would not forget about you! I am thinking of making the switch from S26 gold but NO clue which one to pick.. K is not crying or cranky just very gassy and wanting a feed before the four hours...
*Started a thread cause thought you would not be back in here for a bit..
If anyone has any suggestions on brands of formula please let me know.. xx
Just dropping in to say hi, reading most days but usually when I am BF (like now) so hard to reply. So advanced apologies, this is a total me post...
All going well here, Aurora is a bit gassy too, worse in the evenings, cmhn told us to give her nappy free time when she is grumpy so she can kick her legs, seems to help and she gets a lot of farts and poos out then.
She is sleeping 2-3 hours, waking for a feed and a look around the back to sleep, forgot how sleep newborns are!
MJ is so good with her sister, helping and being so loving, it's so beautiful to watch :)
Been so busy as DH has not had any time off and trying to keep doing all of MJs usual stuff.
Ok, got to get to tge shops, will bbl :)

LMP - I had DS on nan, then switched to the normal s26 when the nan made him constipated. He drank every 4 hours unless going through a growth spurt. We tried about 6 formulas with dd1 because of her silent reflux and constipation issues, ended up on goats milk formula for her, but she fed every 2 hours for about 5 months. Dd2 was on a couple of different ones, ended up on Heinz nurture and fed every 3 hours. So I don't know if changing formula will help when he times his feeds cos I think it's a kid thing, not a formula thing. In my experience anyway with my 3 all being different. I just demand fed them and didn't worry about the clock. DS drank more than recommended on the tin,dd1 wouldntdrink more than 50ml at a time and dd2 was pretty much right on the recommended amount! Funny these things these babies! Always keeping us guessing ;)
my little piggy is 5kg. I feel like crap cause the health nurse made me feel bad for FF :(
I dont think i will go back to her again. She made me feel like crap last time i was there too.
I give J Bellamy Organics. My sis recommended it and you can get it from woolies.
I dont want to have a pap. Im scared from when she did the check to see if my waters had actually broken at the hospital but i have to get my peri checked too.
That will be an interesting trip to the dr. Lucky I made it in the arvo so DH could come.
Also thought I would just post this to look back.

Thanks for posting that Mel. I only thought of it because I seen more then a few people where saying that when they switched from S26 gold their bubby had no gas and was feeding every 4 hours. I have been demand feeding up till this point but really trying to get more on a schedule as when I go off.. bub goes off. I haven't been super strict or anything just doing what works for us. He cries less when he expects it. The other day when I just let it slide... he still wanted to feed at similar times but was grumpy as.
I don't know, this whole baby stuff is not coming back to me like I thought it would. It does not help not having anyone around to talk to about baby stuff. Half the time would rather not post in here and varying with other forum atm.
Thanks though darlin. I think I might try one can of something different and then we shall see....
Kylz, let me know who she is... I have some anger to let off. I am sick of people and their judgements. Know your doing what is right for you and J and that is right. xx
LMP - I've formula fed 3 kids now, one from birth - believe me, I've been judged a lot and heard it all! The most important thing is that you are happy with your choices, and f**k what anyone else thinks
I'm here if you ever need to chat, I'm certainly no expert with babies - just my own ;) - but no judgement here!
Kylz - read above comment lol
Kylz - Stupid MCHN should know better!
LMP - With DS we alternated between Heinz Nurture Gold and plain, and Karicare Gold and plain as after a while his reflux would come back and when we changed formula it would go away for a few weeks. With Elise we have plain Heinz Nurture for top ups when needed, and it seems to be ok, though today she chucked it all up again, poor thing is getting a bit congested.
Hi everyone else!
afm - still feeling cruddy, my bestie just left and all I got done today was washing a few bottles. Elise is being super clingy this arvo/evening and won't sleep in her bassinet or let me out of her sight for more than 2 minutes at a time, she'll only sleep in my arms.
And poor DS is so sick with this cold we've all got, he's been asleep for the past 3 hours and is so congested.
My bestie is taking us all shopping tomorrow, so hopefully some retail therapy will make me feel a bit better.
Kylz, your the only one who can decide whats best for you and your baby. take everything they say with a grain of salt, ive herd a few people refer to them as textbook morons, and thats all they are! it is realy hard to find ones that are nice and respect your choices, after our next 3 'scheduled' appointments, im going to get 2 buses to the one i saw with dd1 befor we moved, they were freakin ace.
with formula, i used s26 gold with my 3, but it was a bit much for ds2 & dd1 so droped down to regular s26, they didnt like any of the other brands. im hoping to make it to 6 months, but if i get past 3 months without needing it, it will be a record for me.
Jenna, have you got a baby carrier? thats how i got my washing done thismorning, nd would not of got a thing done when krystal was a bub without it.
we are down to 4 names!:happydance: then it will be decidiong the middle name....
Sarah - We have one somewhere, but I can't for the life of me remember where it is, and I have no clue how to put it on or anything lol hubby was the one who always wore it the few times we used it with DS.
And yay on being down to 4 names!
i actualy had her in it while i done dinner tonight, df HAD to go to his dads, in the middle of cooking! :protest: i was going to sit down with her and the phone rang for the umteenth time, she has been so sooky today i think my supply has finaly droped stupid appetite buggering off when i need it most:shakehead: so im going to whip up some of those cookies and see if they help, fingers crossed! got to find away to remember to eat reguly.
i think she is getting a cold, coughing and sneezing every now n then, stupid wether cold one minute hot the next...
oh &:shhh: but i looked over the 4 names and thers only realy one on there that i love, and thats Alyssa, so ima work on df tonight and see if he likes it more then the others, fingers crossed he dont come home with the ****s:rolleyes: or i just do what i did with trent, 'i like these 2, now pick one!" and put it with the one i KNOW hes not that keen on....
Ugh... It's like it's a part of their training to learn how to instil guilt and fear in mothers! I get praised for our BFing achievement and then lectured about W having a dummy! Which I was told to use by a paediatrician when he was doing nothing but sucking on my finger constantly in hospy. I actually hid the dummy from her yesterday. I put it in his mouth to leave as he was ready to spack, then I covered the pram with a wrap so she wouldn't see it... *shame*
I feel for you girls, I really believe you need to do what's best for you. Tbh the whole breast Vs FF makes me feel guilty too. I feel to frightened to admit just how proud I am of our feeding achievement, especially of Wyatt's turn around, because I don't want to offend any of you guys. Which is silly because I know we
are all supportive of each other no matter what our personal preference.
xoxo
Don't be silly jak. If I was patient I could too but I haven't been feeling well and sleep is the only thing that helps. He still gets a fair bit if ebm just not direct from boob cause he was hurting me messing around with the shield and won't take boob without it.
I am ok with him having a few Ff a day. I AFM proud that I have been able to give him boobie milk at all.
Jak - I'm a bit like you, I'm super pleased that S hasn't had any formula. Which is a record for me, but having been in a position that bfeeding didn't work out - I sorta keep things to myself because I don't want people to feel bad or guilty - because there isn't really any need to.
The only mothers that should be judged are the ones that don't feed their babies AT ALL. ;)
Awesome point Mel!!!
Seriously girls, there are some pretty sh*tty parents out there so why are we feeling guilty at all?!?!
We rock! ALL of us :D
Kylz I hear ya on the breast shield front! Total pain in the a$$.
We do all rock!!
I'm super proud of exclusively bfing cos its such a huge achievement for me after dd, but would never judge anyone who didnt. Tbh I couldn't give 2 sh*ts how anyone feeds their bub as long as they're happy. I cried cos we had to give chloe a dummy today :( meant to help with pain and her comfort feeding which was upsetting her tum more :( so far so good.
FF or BF who cares as long as bubs gets what he/she needs :) I'm proud of myself for BFing but I'd be just as proud fixing a bottle knowing he is happy and full.
louise: I get sad when I end up giving Chase his dummy. Of course he gags on it for about 10 mins then when he does realise he can suck on it and not drown in milk the little bugger won't let it go. it doesn't put him to sleep either weirdly enough, he just loves sucking continuously on it. I only give it to him when we are out though cos he is starting to cry really loud!!!
sarah: Woohoo down to 4!! Personally i love the name Alyssa, its my SIL's name. I forget about the baby carrier!! i'll have to try chase in the one I have, i tried him a couple of weeks ago and he cried but maybe he will be more adventurous a couple of weeks older :)
LMP: i think it was 3 weeks we DTD again. I was so excited cos we hadn't been able to DTD since I was 28 weeks :o
jenna: chase is clingy too and as much as it is annoying because i can't do anything i cant help but feel loved :) have fun shopping tomorrow, shopping can make anything better :)
jaki: can't believe the nurse gets up you for dummies. They give them to the babies in the hospital! don't feel ashamed for using one, especially since the peaediatician told you to. can't believe the crap nurses some of you guys get, the ones I saw were so laidback and unintrusive.
Kylz: hope your not letting what the nurse said to you about FF get to you, I think you are doing a great job. LIke Mel and everyone has said you're the only one who knows what J needs since your his mother. On the plus side you dont have to see that nurse anymore anyway :)
Mel: I don't think I said this yet but I love Sahti, its looks like such a beautiful name. Is it pronounced Sa-ti? Or like Sar-ti? Does it mean anything?
And if i missed anyone im sorry! trying to decide whether to go to bed or stay up. and as i type my boob is having a let down cos Chase has been asleep since 7pm and now its 1am...my boobs are used to him feeding every 3 hours, this is putting them out of whack lol
Went to the dr and im on the minipill for contraception...except i forgot to take it today which isn't a good sign that I will be properly protected against another pregnancy hahaha so chances are I might be pg again very soon LOL (serious joking I really dont want to get pg again so soon!!!!)
Also had my papsmear done brrr i hate those things but at least they feel better than the vagina telescope they used when I was pg. going for the diabetes test tomorrow, really hoping it comes back negative because i love sweets and fatty food.
Hey kitty have you had to stick to your gd diet this whole time? Is it s test to make sure it was only gd and the diabetes hasn't stuck around?
Wow DTD at 3 weeks, go girl!! Chloe is 2 weeks and I still feel too sore. I guess a week is a lot in c section recovery time, last week it hurt like hell to get out of bed, now I can do it pretty much normally.
Sarah, I'd be telling him you DON'T really like Alyssa....you might have more chance that way, LOL. Alyssa is a very pretty name :)
Tams-i found that with s26 gold ella was to hungry so we put her on s26 original and so far she is feeding between 4-6 hours and very content but we do still have a wind issue and i am bot sure if it is to do with the cyst/bubble under her tongue maybe she is getting a good seal on the bottle and air is getting in.
We switched bottles and formula and are trying infants friend and bruers anti colic so i will give it a few days to see how she goes but while we are moving house i think she will be unsettled although she slept from 8 until 12:30 and then woke at 5 this morning so that was pretty good but she kept me awake with all the grunting and farting in her sleep she sounded so uncomfortable poor bubby.
She is not a screamer or much of a cryer just grissly when full of wind.
And i am also looking into other formula's to.
6 week checks i have never missed one and i religously have a pap smear every 2 years one of my good friends didnt have one for 4 years and has now lost her uterus ovaries and cervix and is having treatment for cancer in case it spread and her pap smear 4 years ago was all clear so it can flare up and progress quick in some people.
Breastfeeding-I was disapointed that Ella being my last baby that i couldnt even try because of her cyst i really wanted to experience that bond but i did what is best for her and i am fine with it i tried with my 3 boys so i know how it feels i just didnt get past the uncomfortable first weeks but i know my girl is happy and cherished so i have no guilt.
C section recovery time well i found the 1st week bloody awful had trouble getting up and down and going to the loo OMG! freaken painful but now i feel really good my belly is still tender to touch and a little swollen above the scar and my bleeding which had almost stopped has come back but very light.
I hate moving house i am waiting for the carpet cleaner to turn up then we have to go pick up the truck.
I bribed my son for some time on his laptop and DO DO internet thing for a humpty dumpty easter egg that i had brought myself lol kids.
well that just blows... had miss's 4 week check, was 2 questions off failing the pnd test thingo, she was going to pry with more questions, i ssaid im stressed about a mouse, she freaked and said it would upset her to...
then put bub on scales.... she has only put on 100g in 9 days... lessthen half expected (based on adverage and her last gain of 350 in 10 days) i have to go back in 2 weeks but if i dont think the suppluys picked up, i have to go in one week. i knew it had dropped, but didnt think it had gone that low  these cookies better work...
sorry total me post. be back tommorow to catch up, ds has his firtst school concert tonight, doin the lion sleeps tonight.
I think you should all be proud of your BFing achievements! In the beginning I was really upset and spent days crying about not being able to do it, but I had to make the decision whether I would keep trying or not before leaving hospital because I couldn't have the blood pressure meds I'd been prescribed if I was going to keep trying to BF. I knew that I had tried and that it wasn't working for me, it was so painful and I was getting more upset and H was so upset, and he'd already been FF from birth because of the diabetes so once I made the decision to FF exclusively I lost the guilt. I know my little boy is healthy, and TBH, I really love that DH can also have that feeding time. So, obviously I'm speaking only for myself here (although I really hope I'm speaking for our other FF mums!), but don't any of you worry about offending me by talking about your achievements! I think we should all be proud that we're doing our absolute best to take care of our bubbies.
Jaki H has been on NAN HA Gold since birth. He's not having any issues with it so I figured I'd just stay on it. On your MHN, just take what she says with a grain of salt. Thankfully mine hasn't made any comments on the FF, but she's a crazy old woman anyway so if she did I'd have trouble taking her seriously lol.
Kylz lol your "little piggy" is the same size mine was last week.. and yours is 3 weeks older :-P . On your MHN, see above lol.
Kitty good luck for your glucose test!
Mel I only saw your little girls name today when I read all of the births on Kylz's post. It's a beautiful name!
Aww Sarah FX the cookies work for you and she picks up some weight. Alyssa is a beautiful name! I kept bugging DH every time I saw him for the first week to agree to a middle name. I think he finally just caved to stop me nagging hahah
AFM Things are getting along here. I had my first outing with just H and I yesterday. It was just a trip to the supermarket, but wasn't that a new experience! lol. It's certainly not the quick 10min trip it used to be!
It's probably not the best timing considering I'm sick as a dog and the coughing is killing my stomach, but I decided to start on the cloth nappies today. The first one ended in a leaky bum (all over me hahaha), so I've tried another one done up differently and we'll see how that works.
How often you are all bathing your little ones? We're doing once a week at the moment, with a washer on the face and bum in between. Also, in a few of your facebook photos I noticed a bath bed type thing. For those who have them, can I ask where you bought them and how you've found them? My carpal tunnel is ridiculously painful at the moment so bathing him myself is impossible, and it's annoying having to wait for Matt.
Ack... little grumble bum has just woken up for a feed. BBL!
Sarah alyssa is beautiful. It was on my shortlist too!
