Oh god there is no way I wake W during the night, and he only wakes once... Maybe that's wrong?!?!
Will tell thurs when he gets weighed. He needs to be back at his birth weight as he will be 2 weeks old.
Ferrals... How are your Devons coping with Ella? Molly is ok mostly, I feel really guilty tho that she's not the baby anymore, and to make things worse Stephen isn't bein very nice to her :(
im sure he is fine Jaki! some people have this idea that babies wrk on set and timed feed/sleep ect, if he is only waking onceat night, ENJOY IT!!! Krystal sleept 8 hrs at night from 2 weeks untill the dreaded first teeth started coming threw, ahh i miss them days! i had a mchn write up a 'schedual' for me when i had ds1, because being a first time mum and demand feeding, i was apparently doing it all wrong as it wasnt her way! if it works for you and bub is going relativly good, well dont change it unless you want to!!

sarah: wake and feed every 2 hours? thats crazy. Is she up to her birth weight already? I don't see a problem with letting her sleep if she is still gaining weight. At least you got your apology :) Chase puts on at least 300g every time we get him weighed :) thats why he is a chubba bubba LOL
JAki: change it already!!! LOL I kind of wished I didn't need contraception, at least for two years. Although with my craphouse cycles i may have problems falling pregnant. the words polycystic ovaries have been mentioned but not confirmed. I don't even know what they are, but I fell pregnant with C so maybe it wont be so hard.

Well Chase is sleeping soundly finally, took me an hour to get him to go to sleep. Hope it doesn't take me that long during the night. You know what's crazy? I'm already starting to think about what I want to do when Chase is a bit bigger. I sometimes think I should go to uni; I want to study midwifery or social work. Or I start looking at job sites to see what jobs are on offer even though I wasn't planning on going for a job for at least a year. I think I'm already getting antsy but it must be because he doesn't do much yet. I'm sure when he is starting to smile and all the other fun stuff I won't feel so useless.

Well this twin thing is hard work. I guess it's hard work for anyone no matter how many bubbies you have. Total shock to the system. I didn't think it was possible to function on the amount of sleep I am having. The boys are waking and feeding every 3 hours without fail no matter what time of day/night. I'm not twin feeding yet so I am feeding them one at a time. By the time the nappies get changed, they have their feed and are burped I'm lucky to get 30 mins to 1 hour sleep. Sometimes if one is unsettled, the other baby is waking to be feed for the second time and I haven't even been back to sleep yet from the last feed. That's my main struggle because I LOVE my sleep. Small price to pay I suppose for two beautiful boys. It's not forever.
Poor Ryan has been way out of sorts for the last few days. He can scream for up to 2 hours straight and no matter what I do I can't settle him. It really upsets me and makes me feel like a bad mother. Today I went to the baby clinic and spoke to the midwife there about it and she seems to think that he is overdosing on lactose (the first milk that comes out) so I have to try expressing a bit of milk out before putting him on boobie. Fingers crossed that helps the poor little man. He has been drowning in milk when he drinks. It comes out way too fast for him.
Matthew on the other hand has been a breeze of a baby (touch wood). My only issue with him is I can't seem to attach him to boobie properly. The midwife today attached him for me and she made it look so easy. It was so good to feed him pain free. Whats the bet I cannot do what she suggested I try to get him attached properly. I guess I just have to keep persevering.
I was actually a little naughty last night. I was so tired and on the verge of giving up bf completely. I sent mum to the chemist to buy me some formula and I gave the boys a formula feed before putting them down for the night. That was at 7pm, they didn't wake for their next feed until 2am. It was so nice. I was told today though that it probably isn't a good idea to do that. Woops!!!

Hope- all LCs and and health nurses will discourage you from doing that, it's their job to promote BFing only. All I can say is do what you have to. You need to be able to function to be a good mum too, it's not all dependent on exclusively BFing.
I'm so over the guilt attached to everything these days.
All the stigmas on everything are only creating guilty and stressed out mothers.
hope: aww don't ever feel like a bad mum, you are doing the best you can. I can't even imagine handling two babies. Did you make sure to express when you gave them the formula?? I always read you have to express when you give alternate feed.
Oh poor Ryan, and poor you, its so stressful when they cry and you don't know whats wrong and how to fix it. C used to wake up and just wiggle and cry and I finally worked out it was because he had really bad stomachaches. Been using Infacol and its awesome, Ryan wouldn't have a sore tummy or anything like that? Hopefully Matt's niceness continues for you and he gets the hang of latching onto the boobie.

Well C has been sleeping from 8am to 3pm today....I'm going to have an awesome night (sarcasm). Then I fed him and he went straight back to sleep!!! Darn it child you are supposed to have long sleeps at night, tiny sleeps during the day, I don't know how he managed to switch them over!!
Hope! By far not a bad mom chook! Think your doing fabulous woman! Just remember with twins, it will get easier! My best mate has twin girls and they are four. : )
Don't feel bad about the ff. Just do the best you can. I am with Jaki, over people making moms feel bad or guilty or both!

Looks like its baby party night! Chloe has been up since 1 and its now 3.45 and ella will be up at 6! Ah the joys :)

Eden had a night like that the other night. Was awake from 2 til 430, just wanted to be held. She did that this morning too, she's now sleeping comfortably on dh shoulder and has been for half an hour.
When DS was a baby, he would scream for hours. Started abOut 5pm and wouldn't let up til 8:30/9pm. Nurses and DRs just told me it was colic. Hang in there xx
Ds set his own routine of 2hrly feeds from birth. There's no way I'd wake Eden to feed every 2hrs. During the day, that's probably her schedule, but at night she's out from about 8 til 11. Then until 2, and again at 5. She'll start her day at 7:30.
Eden has passed her birth weight at 10days. The dr only had normal scales and told me 4kg. I got on the digital scales with her, and she's 3.9. 200g since birth :)
We have an appt when she's 6wks for her 8am needles - something to do with whooping cough. Dh and I also got a whooping cough vax the other day. It's free for parents and grandparents of newborns apparently!

If off to the health nurse... FX W is at his birth weight. If he is not i will know my booby isnt enough for him without the EMB, he has been on booby only since tuesday but i swear he is comfort sucking most of the time!
Just a really quick catch up from me before H wakes up for his feed. He woke me up for a feed and has now gone back to sleep!
I now have my mum and dad and MIL here, and a baby who isn't really sleeping as easily as he was before. It's either stomach aches from wind or he just wants to be held.
Plus my c-section incision has become a little infected. Thankfully I caught it really early so I'm on antibiotics and have a cream to try to get rid of it before it gets serious. My tummy is really sore, and I feel like I need a whole day of sleep to get it healing.
2 week catch up with the MHN yesterday! H is now 5.02kgs, so he has gained 200g over his birth weight, little buddah hehehe. He's not doing anything to help my carpal tunnel! lol
Hope I don't know how you're doing it! I think you should do whatever you need to to get through this time, and not feel guilty in the slightest.
Scones The MHN told me about the whooping cough vax the other day. My parents both got it done before they flew down here, which was very nice of them. DH and I are going to get it soon.

scone: I got stabbed with the whooping cough needle a week after having C, went into the dr's to get them to check my c-sect incision and they were like, you know what you need...bang needle in the arm LOL
Ali: Thank god you caught the infection early. C was the same, when he first came home he was sleeping like clockwork but now he is so unpredictable! At least you have help in your parents and MIL, they should let you stress less.
Oh I thought C would have a super crap night because he literally slept all day yesterday from 8am to 3pm. I had to wake him up and shove a boob in his mouth and he sort of slurped at it then let go, then he slept again from 3pm to 7pm and I was so sure he would never want to go back to sleep and I was kind of right. He stayed up from 7pm to 10pm but then he finally wore himself out and went to sleep, and he only woke up at 3am and then again at 7am going back to sleep easily after both feeds. Heaven! I dont know what I did yesterday but I want me to do it again! LOL
