Kitty something else for you to use - DH and I are both online gamers lol. We even go to LANs once a month and play other geeks. DH has COD but won't buy Black Ops yet because he knows he won't have time for that addicted gaming we both get with a new game ;-). Btw that is so cute that Chase has ticklish ears! Hehe
Lisa Hi and welcome! I hope the LCs can help you out with the BFing. Good luck with it :-)
Iona at least your lil one was there for a while! H went straight to the high 10s lol :-P
Sarah glad to hear you're feeling a bit more in control
Jaki I'm so jealous! The longest H will stretch to is 4hrs.
Tams SMA was the formula we tried with H. He didn't seem to like it and had short sleeps and drunk much less than usual.
I decided to face my fear today and spent half the day at the shopping centre! Apart from bringing home a grumpy bubby, it wasn't anywhere near as hard as I thought it would be.
Anyway, I need to get this place tidied up ready for my BFF tomorrow. Not that he would care. Yeh, wait he won't care! I'm staying on the couch lol
Hi everyone :)
Sorry for no persies, on phone and bf and trying to type and make sense lol.
Hope you all have a great weekend and have sleeping chilled out bubs. Prob won't be online much til next week sometime but still round on fb. See you brissie girls Wednesday. X
I have a constipated little boy :( he keeps waking up grunting and straining and crying and he's only getting out little hard pebble sized poops. I've been bicycling his legs and rubbing his tummy, and I'm going to see if he'll take some of the other SMA formula to hopefully get things moving. I think it's going to be a long night here :(
Can you give water? Will that help?
Nthing personal right now... It's 1:30, and who's up for that at this hour :)
Had an absolutely dream day with both kids yesterday! I got all my housework done (save mopping the floor), managed to do my hair, have a rest, visit work and my cousin, come hOme bathe, feed and put both to bed with no tears from anyone!
E's just woken for a b/f - she slept from 7:30 til 1:30! Normally she'll wake at 9ish and 11ish! I woke just to keep checking on her!
Dtd- we did at 2 weeks. It was fine, but yeah i don't want to be pg again ! We'll see how that goes! ;) ached for a couple days - I don't think those muscles were ready. Dtd again tonight and was fine.
I'm hoping my dream day isn't the calm before the storm today!
Oh yeah. I'm waiting in an av too! :)
Good morning ladies.
I am pretty happy with the boys night time feeds now. They have been doing a similar pattern all week which has been great. They'll have a feed at about 5 - 6pm and than another at around 9pm. They will than go to 1 -2am and than again at 6am. So I am pretty much only having to get up once through the night for a feed. It just means I don't go to bed until after the 9pm feed. It was a bit different tonight though. They had their 6pm feed and didn't wake for their 9pm feed (I usually will wake them if they don't but wanted to see what would happen). They went until 11:30pm and then were awake again at 4am (I've not long finished feeding them and cleaning up bottles). I think I will keep waking them for the 9pm feed. I like that pattern better when they have that feed.
Hello to Scone and Lisa. I've been slack and haven't welcomed either of you yet - so sorry.
My boys both grunt and fart and stuff in their sleep also. They do it when they are not asleep too. M goes real red in the face when he is pooing. I was getting worried about the poor little mite thinking he was getting constipated but was told not to worry because babies are lying down, sometimes it is a bit more effort for them to do their number 2's. As long as they do a poo at least once every two days at this stage (they can end up going once a week) and they are soft milky poo's they should be right. Hehehe, lovely post for you ladies to wake up to - POO!!!
Hope you all had a good night and it will continue into a good day,
BTW, on thursday when the boys were unsettled from the needles I ended up ringing DH and asking him to come home cause they were so unsettled, so he did. He worked until 6pm than drove all the way home to have to leave again at 4am to get to work. By the time he got home they were finally settled, it took nearly all day but we got there. Oh well, it was nice to see DH through the week anyway. Talk about eat my words from my whinge post about DH. Looks like he has to work this weekend so he wont be home like usual. This will be a great test for me, lol.
I don't know how you do it hope, you are amazing!
Iona - feeding every 1-2 hours is pretty normal for a bf baby, but god it's tiring isn't it!!! I just try to keep reminding myself that I prefer that schedule of feeding during the day and not night lol
S is feeding ok, she woke up as we went to bed last night (so like 11.30) then up again at 4, then didn't settle (even on DH's chest on the couch) so I fed her again at 6 and she's still not asleep! Gonna be a long day I think since DS woke Eden just before 6am, so she's cranky, DS is cranky and both DH and I are tired lol
Hope someone else had a better night!
Oh dear Mel that sounds like my experiences until 2 nites ago.
I'm so stoked with last night... Wyatt slept from 8:30-2:30. Back to bed at 3:30-5:30. Then 6-8:30. Yay!
Now he is fussing like a mo fo on the boob. I hate fussy feeds!
Ella has been terrible today not sleeping real good very unsettled she was up last night from 12 30 until 2 30 which is not like her at all and today she was up for 2 and a half hours and then got really tired and wouldnt settle and now she is sreaming i really dont know what is going on with her today but i am not liking it at all.
Mskara-SMA constipated my boys try a little brown sugar in the bottle or coloxyl drops from the chemist.
I am starting to not like all these new formulas
Jayden is on Sma too and I notice he is a bit clogged too. And he isn't feeding any less unless he is asleep
Bad night here too. He ended up sleeping until 4:30 then wouldn't go back to sleep. Finally crashed at 7:30 after a 2nd feed.
We had success with the SMA. He finished the 2 bottles of it and filled a nappy - my gawd it stunk haha.
I would say Koltons poo is more regular and formed but soft.. Ah the lovely things we talk about..
I do have a can of S26 regular that I am going to use after this can is done, just so it can be used. Midwife told me that quite a bit of gas is quite normal for a newbie and parents will go through on average 3 different brands to try to settle the gas down.. *Whoops, that is me....
The SMA says that it keeps tummies fully for longer.. Um, I do not believe that one. The only good thing is all his horrible gas was gone...
Anyways, off to get a refill on my nails and a pedi.. So beyond tired but really need this ME time
I hope you all are having a wonderful day/weekend, Sorry to hear about your boobs Iona. : ( xx
Jaki - wait til you get AF back, I found that the day before i got it MJ would be really fussy and for the firts day too - i dreaded it, but it was a great warning as i never knew when it would come!
Kylie - Honestly i would not be taking the word of the Dr, i know loads and loads of people that have fallen pregnant before AF has come back, remember, you ovulate BEFORE you get your first AF - so you will need to be careful!
Ali - glad you had sucess with the feed, even if it was stinky at the end!
Iona - hope things settle for you soon, we have days like that too
Hope - I think that you are one amazing woman to be doing what you are doing alone, glad your DH came home to help when you needed him :) i couldnt imaging having twins, one is tiring enough!
Tams - enjoy your me time :)
Sarah, glad you finally have a name, i think Alyssa is a beautiful name :)
Yesterday i felt soooo terrible, i was down at Mums and i felt cold all over like i was getting the flu, i had one really sore boob too and i had to have a lie down, apparently i was really pale and washed out... I think that maybe i was really engorged or the begining of mastitis or something, but as i was aware of it i made sure that Miss A fed from that side first each time so that it would empty properly and it seemed to help.... i think that i am over tired too and that wasnt helping things.
Miss A is going to bed at around 8.30-9pm after a bath and feed and the last few nights she has slept til 2am, i am up for over an hour with her as she is so windy after that feed as she is really hungry... anyway, she has been starting to get grunty at 5am so i have been going in and trying to sort the wind out for her (she wasnt awake or grizzly) and this morning i went in and thought, your not awake, i am just going to leave you and see what happens, anyway she grunted for another 10 minutes then went back to sleep til 7am!
We had our second Osteo appointment yesterday and she has been feeding so much better and taking in less air, her neck is all jammed up on one side and that is the problem, we have to ut her in the big bath with us every second night and sway her holding only her head and neck to help loosen things and next week, she reckons will be the last time she needs to see us! Miss A is much less windy and uncomfortable, it has been amazing!
Those of you that haven't yet got to immunisation age, Anyone not going too or considering not? We stopped immunising MJ before the MMR and i am torn between doing the same with A or delayed, she didnt get the Hep B at birth as i couldnt bare her to be stuck with a needle after birth and also there is no risk to her at the moment... i also had the Vit K orally for her... (I am aware that i may be opening a can of worms here)
Welcome to Scone, Mildez and Lisa - sorry its a bit belated!
and lastly, for those that are interested, here is my birth story
Have a good one ladies
xx
Lmp - DS was on the regular s26 and had no issues. Fed every 4 hours too (except during a growth spurt!) so it might be a good one to try! And only 3 different ones? Crikey I went above that statistic! Lol
SJ - ooh the vaccination chat ;). DS has had all his (except for rota virus cos it wasn't out then) and hasn't had his 4 year ones, delaying them till he starts school next year. Maybe. Dd1 had all her's. Dd2 had her's delayed for 2 months and I refused the vitamin k and hep b at birth. No rota virus one either. She hasn't had her 12 month shots yet, we're still deciding what to do. Dd3 willbe delayed totally. No vitamin k at birth either. Or hep b. Think that covers it. Lol it's a bit all over the shop I know, but the more I research the less i like the sound of what's in them so I change my mind by the time the next kid is born lol
Hmmm maybe I try the the s26 too

All my kids are vaccinated and Ella will be also after i had whooping cough in 2009 and broke a rib coughing and spent 90 days gasping for breath and vomiting there is no way i want my baby to catch it.
I hate them getting needles i even cry but i would hate it even more to watch them suffer with a horrible illness that can be prevented.
I keep Ella away from anyone not vaccinated at the moment my mum/dad and sister have all had there booster shots as they are the babysitters got there needles for free.
Dont want to sound one sided but thats just my view on imunisation.
I sent DH out to get a lactose free formula because Ella spent 3 hours this morning in pain with shocking wind and exsplosive watery poos she wouldnt even drink her bottle she has been getting worse so i am trying the lactose free and see how we go i was even told by the chemist to boil water with a bay leaf in it and get her to have a little drink before each bottle it helps bring up the wind at the end of each feed.
Anyone got any info on lactose free formulas i was told babies who suffer wind/colic can do well on it as it doesnt bulk in the intestines and build up gas like other formulas can.
