Ferrals - sorry to hear you are all sick :( you must have posted at the same time as me yesterday.
Hope you all feel better soon
It's freezing here overnight, A's hands were so colds when she woke to be fed, she was warm everywhere else though..I was freezing sitting up... More blankets tonight I think and more clothes :)

im so hot; I tried to get DH to let me turn on the air con today!!! He said no LOL I always think I am rugging chase up too much for the weather cos i have him in a jumpsuit and then a woolen blanket on his lower half but every time I get up in the morning his hands are cold!!?? poor buggar. In the day time if I leave his feet without socks for even 10 mins they get cold as well, he's just a chilly little baby :)
I hate when wyatts hands are cold too and use mittens even tho apparently babies hands are 'supposed' to be cold.
Jaki Hope you're feeling better. I always seem to get sick after a long car trip. It's exhausting!
ferrals Ella is so cute!! Hope you're feeling better too. I've found Hydralyte is great for those types of situations.
Kitty lol you're hot and wanting the air-con and we've had the ducted heating on all day.
DH took care of H all day today. He tried to get me to go out for the day, but I had nowhere to go and honestly couldn't be arsed!
I think H may have reflux :( It's been coming on over the past few days but he hadn't been crying/fussing so I wasn't sure. Tonight he seems really upset and uncomfortable, and he cries and goes really red if we lay him down. He's also been only drinking small amounts then rooting for food an hour later. He arches his back and cries a little when he starts drinking, and has been vomiting almost every time. Poor little guy! It really upsets me that I can't settle him
Might have to take Ella up the hospital she has only had 100mls of formula since 6pm yesterday and and everything else she has vomited up she cant even keep the tiny amouts of boiled water we are giving her down she slept from 12 last night until 8am this morning and woke for a little bit we tried to feed her and she just wont take anything and now she is asleep again she just wont wake up she is exhausted poor baby we are keeping an eye on her nappies for wetness to see if she becomes dehydrated so far the last nappy after 6 hours was slighty damp but not soaked like normal f#ck i dont like my girl being sick.
Ferrals -keep an eye on her fontanelle, that will tell you how she is, hydration wise. If her mouth starts looking dry definitely take her to hospital xxxx
Ali - reflux sucks, I sympathise :(
Hello to everyone else - hope you are all having a happy Easter! :)
Mel what's a fontanelle

Their little soft spot on the top of their head - it gets all sunken when they are dehydrated.
Oh ferrals i hope she gets better soon :(
Hi Everyone :hello:
Thinking of u Ella, poor little thing... Can you call nurse on call? I would probably just take her down to be checked now, they will tell u how much fluid she needs and give you parameters to bring her back, may be better then having to totally rehydrated her.
Hope you are all feeling better soon
Happy Easter everyone

Rang the hospital they said just to keep an eye on her for now as long as she hasnt got a temp (which she hasnt) and has had a wet nappy in the last few hours just to keep trying the boiled water.
If no improvement to take her up.
She has attempted 60mls of formula and projectile vomited it everywhere we have managed to get 30mls of boiled water with a little sugar in it into her and so far she has kept that down but she hasnt fed and kept it down since yesterday she must be starving.
She is really lethargic and is not even crying just laying there either asleep or fighting it
Arimeh-I have been keeping an eye on her fontanelle it is normal but her nappies are only slightly damp and there has only been one all day the hospital isnt much help they said we could bring her up and end up waiting to see a doctor and sit in an uncomfortable waiting room with other contagious people or stay home and watch her and keep trying water and taking her temp.
DH is staying home with me tonight just in case she isnt any better.
Iona-babies how we love them so unconditionally they melt our hearts but yet can be so dam frustrating hang in there is does get better.
How's Ella doing? Been thinking of you all day

Thanks for asking sammy Ella is much better this morning.
we ended up taking her in for a lookover and she finally started to take some fluids 30mls every hour or so and kept it down we had a rough night with the tummy cramps she was having she was so exhausted she slept all night through the pain and just moaned in her sleep i had to keep giving her fluid while she slept all up she only had 100mls from 7pm until 7am this morning and only one slightly damp nappy but since then has had a bottle and laid on her playmat quietly so i think the worst is over.
The doctor said it was most likely rota virus which she gets a needle for next week it is the most common form of gastro and can make babies very sick and dehydrate i had stepdaughter over this week and she had some friends over so proberbly picked it up from them.
I am not taking her out until she has her 1st lot of needles next week it was horrible watching her in pain and not being able to help her.
Glad you posted ferrals, I was gonna give you another hour and then text!
So glad she is on the mend :)
Ferrals - so glad Ella is on the road to recovery. The poor thing. So much going round at moment

Glad Ella is ok ferrals.
I think my lil man has silent reflux :(
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh no.
On the fontanelle how should it feel if not dehydrated? Jayden is still feeding every 2-3 hrs but I just felt his spot and there is a slight dent still.
Lol I'm paranoid too now! I keep feeling it. He has the same amount of dent as always tho.
See I didnt use too and now I cant help it
A little dent is ok ella's is always visable you can see the diamond shape but it should not be deep sunken.
A little sad we had to remove our bubby's pic's from our tickers.
guess the poll didnt mean squat
Glad Ella is better now, poor little thing :(
On the fontanelles, it looks like it's been sucked in.
Will be back later been travelling home and unpacking all day, just wanted to check in :)

Iona-What makes you think that my SIL(the one i dont like) her son had it and was put in hospital from the burns to his throat/eosophagus (spelling) he screamed non stop as soon as he finished his bottle he was fine drinking it but the minute they tried to burp him he was demon child he had his fixed and was fine after.
My DH has started talking about having one more baby so Ella has a sibling close in age to her he doesnt want to get the snip just in case WTF!!!! i just had my guts cut open and my uterus pulled out and sewed up and he wants another one.
Ferrals - the last couple of days he has had bursts of painful screams and he would fall asleep on me and when I go to put him down, he will wake up crying and his legs are pumping.

Oh no Iona - hope he doesnt :( poor little man
I started writing 3 hours ago...its the witching hours for C between 6pm and 8pm, he was just awful. Just put him to bed, we will see if he stays there.
ferrals: so glad to hear Ella is on the mend :)
Iona: poor Jack the silent reflux sounds awful. Is there anyhting that can help or do you need to go see dr?
No real news from me, just plodding.
Kitty-That is Ella's grizzly time to or should i say shocker time too.
I have finally worked her routine out.
7-8am Ella wakes has bottle and has time on playmat.
9am back to bed.
11-12am Ella has bottle straight back to bed.
4pm Ella has bottle and playtime on mat.
5pm back to bed.
6-7pm Ella wakes and is whingy so bath time and trying to settle time
8pm Ella has bottle.
8:30 Ella goes to bed
12:30am Ella has a bottle goes back to bed.
4:30am Ella has bottle goes back to bed.
7-8am we start all over again.
This seems to be what times she always feeds and sleep now if we can drop that 12:30 we will be laughing.
Iona-go and get bub checked out you need to know so can get him treatment if that is what it is colic has similar symptoms also ella had the screams in the middle of feeding and even while asleep but now with the formula change we dont have a problem.
I put Ella in her own room for the 1st time last night i feel guilty but i just cant sleep with all her noises she groans and grunts and goo's in her sleep and last night i thought i would try her in her room i put the cradle in there so she still has her Angelcare monitor on the cradle i just turn the parent monitor down low so i can only hear her very softly i dont get all the light noises and of course when she cries i can hear that and the alarm bit is the same i can hear the beep but i can tell you i had a great night sleep and so did she maybe my tossing and turning was waking her up also she is 6 weeks on friday and i had my boys in their own rooms by 6 weeks i was hoping to have her in my room longer but mummy needs her sleep to be a functional mummy.
thanks ferrals, am off to the drs tomorrow as mine is closed today plus we have a crannial osteo appt tomorrow arvo so maybe that will help. the episodes only last about half hr at a time as he wears himself out but i still feel helpless when i hear the pain stricken scream
Hey Ferrals,
Sorry, ladies have not ready anything except this page as I have been away. Just wanted to say Ferrals, have you tried increasing her feeds? Kolton got a bit crabby but we worked it out that it was just because he wanted more formula. He is now on 180ml. All his grumpiness disappeared after the increase. Might be worth a look. Sorry if I missed something you said.. xx
Will came back on to read up later. xx
Iona hopefully the craino sacral treatment works, Miss A has been worse the last few days but I'm putting that down to my diet and being away. Got another one next weeks, so that combined with the bath exercises this week, hopefully she will be better...
Ferrals, we keep similar feed times each day, but as we are out and about each day her sleeps are not always regular, but luckily she sleeps well wherever we are...
lol to your DH who is already planning another baby for you!!!
Tam - hope you had a great time away, enjoy planning Asia :)
I'm thinking about trying to get up to Byron soon to visit my Besty
Can't remember what else I was going to say :)

Tams-Ella is on 150mls and very rarely finishes the whole bottle if she does she usually brings it back up her little belly cant handle it.
And i can forget trying a more filling formula as she is on the novalac colic one and it is good no more wind problems so i dont dare change it even when it's $25 a tin.
My mum said to add an extra scoop in her night bottle just before bed and to be honest i did that with my boys and it was fine they had no ill effects other then they slept all night but Ella is so tempermental and whingy if windy i dont want to risk upsetting her stomach.
So i guess i can try giving her a little water 1st and see if she goes back off to sleep before i offer her milk.
She is a happy bub except when tired she is a little ggrrrrrr!!!!
What mls is everyone elses bubs on who are FF?
We're back on 150, but H usually only drinks 130. We went up to 180 for a little while there but it must have been a growth spurt or something.
My MHCNs said most babies are on 120-150, sometimes 180 and rarely above that.
New avy's are up!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!
Very schexy
jaki: love the avi!
ferrals: you have such a routine worked out. The only thing that stays constant for C is that he wakes up at 6am for feed then sleeps till 9am then wakes up for feed. After that its anyone's guess whether he will sleep or stay awake :)
When I put C to bed last night he woke up again and stayed up till 10pm, then slept till 6am like usual. Thats what I get for trying to be sneaky and put him to bed earlier :) He still sleeps in a bassinett in my room but during the day I am trying to get him used to his cot and using his monitor :) Ahh the whining has begun, its gonna be a fun two hours to his next feed LOL
