Lots of awake time here too. She's coming up to 6 weeks though and I'm sure someone told me it's a growth spurt for them. Bring on the coffee today!! Meanwhile DH is going to be late for work.... He spent most of the night getting the older two to sleep, while I dealt with the baby.
Thank god they're cute ay?
Eta - Sarah, I would just weigh her at home, and if you are concerned about her weight then go see someone. I think 100g gain a week is acceptable for breastfed babies, but I know some weeks are on either side or that figure and it's still ok? I hardly weigh Sahti and I don't take her to the mchn, dealt with too many bad ones before. I can tell she is growing, she's nearly out of 0000's, and they used to swim on her. Trust your instinct about her growth xxxx

bad night here as well from 1-3 then 4:45 till about 6:30 went to put him down as he was asleep on me and woke up again, screaming until about half hr ago where he had actually calmed down enough to chuck him on the boob and now he is asleep - let's see for how long
-
Before I start please be gentle.
Today I am off to take J for his circumcition :( If DH wasnt done I wouldnt have considered it. There is no cutting involved anymore but I am still nervous and mad that I have to go alone. Why do the mums have to do the hard things?
Been a horrible night and its going to be a long day. DH has touch tonight so I be home alone at the worst part of the day. For some reason J screams from 730 for no reason. he is dozing off thge he screams the back arches and he wont settle. He doesnt do this any other time. Its so exhausting. its the same EVERY night.
Ok me rant over. Hi to all. Be back when I have 2 hands
xxxx K

Kylz - don't feel bad, you're doing what you think is right. Which is the best for your baby. Fwiw, DS has been circumcised too. Are you still giving him wind stuff? Could be a build up of wind maybe from during the day? I remember Aricyn being shocking at that age, we used to put him on the couch and pat with one hand and eat dinner with the other hand lol
-
Nope I keep forgetting. Even when I was didnt matter :(
-
Kylz-Lots of bubs are cranky in the evening that is ella's favourite time to whinge.
As for getting boys circumcised my 3 are not done i dont think it isnt nessarsary but thats my opinion i taught my boys at a young age how to clean it properly but i dont have a problem with others who get their sons done my SIL had her son done and it didnt work so now he has a skirt of foreskin at the front of his penis and it looks awful so she is having it done in surgery when he is a little older.
My DH is done and he would have liked our son done if we had one and i said well you can take him to be done because anything involved in unnessarsary pain to our baby you can do thank god we had a girl i dont have to worry about it.
Kylz good luck and Boo to your hubby for making you do it alone.
Well i can actually say Ella is sleeping like a dream (touch wood) since on the zantac and reflux formula she had a feed at 9pm and slept until 3am then had a feed and went back to sleep until 7am and the night before she slept great to now just to get her to stick to the later last feed and i will only have to get up once in the night.
And during the day yesterday she fed every 6 hours and slept really good we even had to go out so i got her out of bed dressed her put her in the car seat and she stayed asleep what a difference we have seen since treating her reflux.
AFM-Went to the loo last night DH though i was doing a wee and i said no that is blood it was pouring out of me :shakehead: i have no clue what is going on i see the doctor for Ella tomorrow so i hope he will see me too.

ohhh chook, it could just be his witching hour!!!

Huge hugs kylz, u know we don't judge in our group. If I didn't have ab apptment today I would come with you. Xxxx Chloe is feral from about 7pm til 10pm every night. Seems a lot of us missed out on the sleepy quiet newborns!!
I'm taking chloe to the Dr today. There has to be something more than 'wind pain' going on....hope to get some answers.or ear plugs lol

Question ladies.
Ella is having her needles tomorrow and the nurse said they dont want me to give her panadole half an hour before hand like they use to she says they want to see how babies reactions are before we give panadole as they dont see the full reactions of babies because they are all on pain relief i think that is unnessersary and cruel i plan to give her panadole before the needles and every 4 hours after until i feel she is not in pain.
What would you do?
-
Ferrals - I gave DS and DD1 panadol beforehand, but forgot with DD2 (for the vaccinations that she did get) and she seemed to cope ok. If she looked like she was in pain, then I would give her some, some babies handle it better than others. Totally up to you - if you want to give it beforehand, just do it. I don't think it will do any harm :)
-
Ferrals - I never gave Luke panadol beforehand but would after if he required it. It's up to u my dear, don't let others talk u out of what u think is best for ur precious one

Ferrals maybe it's in case they have an adverse reaction? I would think panadol might dull the reaction itms?
Kylz *hugs* for you having to deal with that on your own. Can you ask DH to skip training this week? He wants it done, he should at least help with J after it happens.
Well ladies, I'm finally going to admit that I'm really struggling here and get some help today. I spent the evening sobbing again. I can't sleep, I'm anxious constantly and I feel like everything is too hard. I go from feeling elated and in control to completely overwhelmed daily. By the time DH gets home at night I'm exhausted and just shut myself off. I haven't said anything because I thought it was just me adjusting and it would sort itself out, but last night I forgot to change H's nappy after his 4pm feed and just sat on the rocker for 2hrs staring at him. Once i realised I'd forgotten I sobbed for ages. It sounds stupid now because it wasn't like he was hurt or anything, but it made me feel like I'm utterly incompetent. I've dealt with depression before and this feels like depression to me so I'm off to my GP today to get some help.

I never did with ella, was always told its do they can gauge if she was having a reaction by high temps etc,and panadol can disguise it. But I can't see what harm it would do really....
-
Hugs Ali, good on you for addressing it and going to see someone xxx
-
Oh Ali im so sorry. GL at the Dr's. You are so brave for seeking help. That alone makes you an awesome mumma cause not many woman recognize and admit there is a problem.
Please let us know how you get on. Is someone able to go with you?

Big hugs Ali xxxxxxx
I feel that I had pnd with Aricyn and I thought it was normal to feel that disconnected so I never saw someone. Who knows the damage I have done to him because of that time and how I treated him. Good on you for realizing it's not normal - you ROCK!!
Good luck

Not really, but it's ok. I just need to stop crying for 5mins to get there. Posting all that had me sobbing again lol. Aww, smiles from my lil boy helps. Thanks for the support :-)
