Oh, I also forgot to mention that I think Logan may be having a growth spurt. He has been drinking heaps and more often. He drank 180mls last night!

Hi there everyone! Wow alot to catch up on!!
Kat - big hugs. You are always welcome to come in here and vent etc. Re Ivy's sight. I know at this stage, it's thought that babies can't actually quite focus on objects and their vision is still blurred. BUT they don't know that for certain. I can't say I've taken alot of notice of where Allira stares (poor second child haha). The girls have all given you great advice and yes, if you are at all concerned, def call someone. Even is it's just the MCHN. Mother's intuition as the other girls have said, is our most powerful weapon when it comes to our kids. I trust myself with any worries I might have, and so far I have been right. Biggest hugs. I hoe you can get some sort of reassurance from someone.
Naomi - yep vibrating bouncers are the best!! I only put Allira's on vibrate when she's cranky too. Works a treat! Although I know when I go to the hairdressers and I sit on the massage chair when I'm getting my hair washed, I nearly fall asleep so no wonder the kiddies love them! Yay for the extra sleep at night! I know it makes all the difference.
Vic - I'm glad you have improved slightly. I hope you get much better from here. Awesome that CJ has calmed down a little and sleeps a little more. Hopefully that only speeds your recovery up.
Re the medicare cards - I know it took longer for us to get the medicare card than the centrelink jazz. They did make a HUGE mistake on the medicare card (put allira's first name as her last and our last name as her first, making her a boy!), but someone realised before I got the card and called me to let me know they had fixed it. CJ should be processed and on Medicare's records before you get the card so as others have said, give them a call and double check.
Amy - I hope the AB's help Natty. Allira tends to blow little bubbles a bit, but she throws up more than anything. Poor little one. It can't worry her too much, she doesn't really react and she's gaining plenty of weight. Lachie was a spewy kid too :(
Bella - yay for the weight gain! That's excellent!
Bridg - awesome that Logan slept in his bassinette! Allira's been great and dont it the last 3 nights all night. Love having some bed back! I wish my hub would fall asleep on the couch... then I could have the whole bed. oh how I miss being a starfish.
Hi JwithJ, Krystie, BG and everyone else I missed!!
Well we had our appt yesterday and everything is going really well. Allira gained 1.1kgs in 4 weeks and is now 5.6kgs.Big chunky girl. haha. She's also grown 2cms in length and gained 2cms HC, So I am a happy mummy now. Clearly she's one of those bubs who only needs 5-6 feeds a day which is so different to DS who was 12+ per day for 4-5 months.
The only issue, is she has a bit of a flat spot on one side of the back of her head. She has a preference for which side of her head she lays on. No matter how I lie her down, which way I turn her bassinette, I can put towels under the flat side, I can try and turn her head in bed to one side, and she always manages to turn it back. It really wasn't too bad, but seems to be getting a little worse, so I really have to watch it. I hate turning her head when she's already asleep.
Other than that, we are really really lucky. The kids are both acting so much differently than what we expected. I expected complete mayhem, but I've had it pretty easy really. Very lucky.
Enough waffle from me. have a great day all! I'll probably pop back later so I can try and keep up!
ahhhh what a day yesterday - i have had this thread open all day trying to think of persies - but it's not working! my poor brain is fried!!!
decided yesterday to have our first big shopping trip without daddy - took granma instead. what a looooong and painful (literally) day! E was fantastic except for her constant need to feed. we were at the shops about 3 hours and i had to feed her twice (was fed before we left mum's and then again when we got back - little piglet!). there are only two feeding chairs in the parents room so it's almost impossible to get one during peak times (being school holidays, all day is peak time at the moment) so i had to sit on hard wooden benches to feed - and my back is killing me now!! i ended up having to get mum to carry E for a while cos i simply couldn't and she was having hissy's being put in the pram. not a good feeling. i wish she would settle in the hug a bub - but it makes her miserable every time!
today she is being a gem - asleep at the moment after feeding all morning. she is so cute! we didn't have a great night last night - it wasn't terrible - we still got big blocks of sleep - but she was a shocker when we were feeding. i have one nipple that is very flat, and unless she is completely relaxed (basically on the way to sleep) she just can't seem to stay attached! i think it's more impatience on her behalf - she wants to drink and she wants to drink 10 mins ago, not now lol
ahhhh so very sleepy - have to go to mum's again tomorrow - doing some cooking for the baptism (well, for those staying for dinner afterwards) and scamming a late lunch. it's so hard to get motivated to cook properly for myself. there is heaps of food in the freezer in precooked meal portions, but almost all of it was made for DH and is high in curry or chilli (which i love, but not so sure it loves E!) or contains chicken stock which, for some reason, has been triggering horrific reflux (well, i think that is what is causing it - it's the only ingredient i can pin point as being in everything that is making me unwell!) - so we're down to basic foods - and don't have much of that in the freezer at the moment. sigh...
sorry for the lack of persies - i've been reading and stuff - just brain not working to put ideas into words! and now the cat napper is awake again. sigh. at least she's not unhappy most of the day when she's awake - only when it comes time to demand to be fed (and hey, when i'm hungry, i gotta eat so i don't blame her!!)
BG: We have a similar problem with feeding on one side, only my nipple isn't flat as much as my boob is pretty much always full compared to the other. I swear, my left boob is at least two cup sizes bigger than my right. I'm a lopsided lassie  Phoebe has to be very relaxed to stay attached to my left, and sometimes overnight it causes a problem. Perhaps it has a faster letdown too... I dunno. Anyway, it can be very frustrating for us both at times!
Hope you and Em had a good day at your mum's today, and that you got some good meals to bring home. Gotta look after yourself, matey!
Nicky: So glad that everything's going so well! Allira's weight gain is fabulous! Well done to the both of you. Y'know, the ABs are already working. She's been so much better today. The cough is still ugly, and yes, we've had some tanties for sure, but she's nothing like the feral beast she's been the last few days. So thanks GP - I'm a believer.
Phoebs posets probably after every second feed, but neither her or Natty have been real chuckers - Phoebe has had one enormous spew, and I'm sure Natty did at times too, but I've got it good in that department. Any spew can be mopped up from her chin... Along with the drool, LOL!
Bridg: Sounds like an awesome sleep! Must check out your pic when I'm next on FB - I'm hopeless at getting on there. LOL @ having the bed to yourself - I like that DH is there cause he keeps me warm. (No, I'm not eluding to anything saucy there! Way too tired to be getting up to mischief in the middle of the night: that's valuable sleep time, LOL)
Interesting about Logan's feeding more frequently... I wonder if Phoebe is growing or having a developmental shift this week - she has been sooooo sleepy yesterday and today, with hardly any awake time (except for arsenic hour, which seems to start around 7pm for us).
Bella: LOL, I don't feel so positive when I come on here! I do use you all shamelessly to whinge to and I hope you don't mind. I figure if anyone would be understanding it'd be you lovely mummies. The sleep is off and on. The last two nights have been good, with at least one block of 3-4 hours. Nice, but I'm not holding my breath that it continues. Must read your story - will pop on there tonight probably. Next time I'm on FB I'll add you, babe.
Glad you are getting some MIL-free time. I don't know how I'd go with a parent home with me fulltime. I think I'd struggle! Glad you and J are getting some quality time together now :)
Naomi: Born with a tooth?!?!? Did your MIL breastfeed? :o
We've had quite a good day today. Phoebe was a good little girl and spent three out of four sleeps in her bed (she's asleep now still) which meant I got to spend time doing things with Natty and keeping the peace. The other sleep she had on my chest when Natty was asleep and we watched New Idea TV and my friend was on it! It was a funny surprise.
Ok, she's awake. GTG! xx
Hi all,
Well this will be short cos I am doing it from my phone cos our internet is down :( so a?noying! And jemima is having a bad few days. She is so awake and so hungry. I'm knackered! Anyway she's waking again so I'd better go.
Happy sleeps all
Bella
Amy- I know what u mean about valuable sleep time! I have my lekky blanket to keep me warm. hehehe.
Bella- *hugs* hun, and sleep vibes for Jemima. Bugger about the internet being down. I didnt have my computer for 2 days, and I was starting to have withdrawls!
AFU, Logan slept from 1-7 again last night. Leigh got him out of bed this morning, and put him in bed with me, so I could give him his bottle, and he started giggling at Leigh. It was sooooo cute. We are heading down to Spotlight tonight, so I will have a ball! I love craft shops!

hi everyone, long time no see, i cant keep up. literally. this is the first time i have had to do 'extra' things on the computer.
vic... we still don't have medicare cards either.
does anyone want any girl baby clothes?i have some 000 and 00 body suits that have hardly been worn (some still new) cause ralie is a giant. LOL i find baby clothes RIDICULOUSLY expensive here so i thought i would put it out there and see. some are from pumpkin patch. if you want them, let me know and i will post them to you.
also, does anyone know where i can buy a PINK bumbo chair for under 50$$???
i read all your posts and you all seem well.
congrats to the girls who have lost weight.
breast feeding not helping here , actutally, more like the c-seciton. i am still feeling weak and tired. healing takes soooooo long. its depressing.
anyways, i am off. see you in another couple of weeks. ha ha ha...
rainy - e is only just going into 000 now. plus a friends DD had a babt girl 10weeks prem at same time as me so what we cant use we can pass onto them. am gappy to share with the other ladies too!
Aralia's not really out of 00's already?!?!? What you got in your milk, matey? LOL!
Phoebe's starting to sleep longer overnight. Yay! And the ABs are working well - Natty's not been nearly as difficult this weekend. So, I'm feeling less like I'm in waaaaaay over my head, LOL!
Hope you're all well.
snacks... yes she is. she is a giant. a fat compact giant with tiny hands and feet and the CHUBBIEST cheeks ever. i blow raspberries on them. LOL she is into 0 jumpsuits now. a friend of mine gave me some of her size 1 clothes and i put the tights on her as pants. last week they were loose round the waist and this morning they fitted. she is very chubby. so different to Q who was ALWAYS scrawny.
i have lots of milk this time, my boobs leak, she comes off and they keep squirting like a hose, and she chokes sometimes it comes out too fast. it was different with Q, he could never get enough. poor bugger.
its D-day for me. DH got a job and is off to work today. i am at home alone with all 4 of them! thank god for play station. if we were in london i'd have my 4 plus at least another 2!!!
snacks... Q has settled too. its hard hey. 2 year olds. so funny but hard work. he still pokes her eyes though and we have to watch him when we leave her alone to sleep. we are lucky we have brandon, he has grown up so much and is a really good big brother. we forget he is only 12. poor bugger. we have promised him a super dooper 13th birthday at dreamworld or something cool for all the crappy things he has had to put up with in the last 2 years.
anyways, we are off to town on the bus now. yay. NOT! miss london's public transport. i am teaching xavier how to use the bus so he can get the school bus alone. he wouldn't have to do that until year 7 in the uk. so much more independent out here.
Snacks - yay for feeling like things are coming togther! Awesome news on Natty's ahviour now and Pheobe's sleep! You'll feel like a new woman in no time!!
Raindrops - WOW out of 00's already? Allira's nearly out of her 000's now.. which is really sad (and slightly annoying). SHe is just too long for 000 bodysuits but still fits into pants and tops etc. They just don't stay little for long :(
Hi everyone! Hope you are all well. Same old here... Allira is 2 months old today!! I can't believe how quickly that has gone!! I have to organise her vax's this week sometime... poor chicken.
No news here. We're having a heap of Hubby's mates out to our place for go karting this weekend, so I've got lots of cleaning to catch up on!!
Still having drama's with DS and his eating. He's a stubborn bugger!
Hope you all had a fab weekend!!
Hey Everyone!
Long time no write I know! :( Just been busy! I hope everyone is well!
I am a little concerned about Cara's belly button. It was a little red at first, but appears ok now, but is very gunky. It has a bit of brownish discharge. It seems better after a bath. I have never had this problem before with other babies. Anyone else had similar probs or know what I should do to properly clean it?
Cara is 6 weeks old now and smiling and just starting to 'talk' hehe. I have even heard her laugh in her sleep..so cute!! I have no idea what she weighs. At 3 weeks she was 3.8kg. I used to take the babies to the local baby nurse at the chemist, but it seems they don't do it anymore. Though the chemist did say I could get her weighed their anytime if I want to. I have her 8 week check up soon anyway at the Drs for her immunisation.
I have had a few photos done of her lately. I've got a zillion photos on facebook hehe.
Off to have a shower..didn't get one yesterday. You get that..lol.
Cathy, Allira's belly button caused a few issues early on, and I was told if it got red or had smelly discharge, to see someone as it could be an infection. Maybe call the MCHN if you are worried. Allira has never had any discharge from her belly button.
Ok.. What is an MCHN? A midwife?
Maternal and child health nurse. Different names in different states, hey. I forget that.
Hi Mummy's
Raindrops - good to hear from you, sorry to hear you are still recovering, wishing you a speedier recovery and energy burst!!
Amy - sounds like you are having some wins with both Phoebe and Natty - yaaaaaah for your girls. Hopefully it continues and keeps getting easier every day. LOL - Play pen - DOH of course - hahahaha cant believe I called it a cage - LMAO. It was Bailey that was born with a tooth, not DH LOL - fortunately it has gone back down into the gum. (And no the MIL didn't BF despite offering advice to me about it which is a PITA, we were out to lunch yesterday and I took a bottle of EBM for Bailey and he took a while to drink it as was distracted with everyone around. MIL decided it was the bottle (it wasn't, it was because others like her were in his face rather than leaving me to feed him) so suggested I feed him where the nappy change facitilites were instead. As this was the disabled TOILET I politely declined. I felt like telling her to take her lunch and go and eat it in the loo).
Jess - sorry to hear your first 2 test didn't go too well. Great that Andy is being so good, must make it so much easier!
Bridg - nice block of sleep!! Has it continued?
Bella - good to hear from you!! Sounds like a feeding frenzy - perhaps a growth spurt?
Niadla - I dont think Bailey has a flat spot, but he definately prefers one side - always turning his head to the left, sometimes I can get him to turn it the other way, sometimes not LOL - not much else I can do. How fantastic is Allira doing? I bet you are a proud Mummy - congrats on the 2 month milestone
Vic - did you sort out your medicare cards? Are you feeling better?
BG - have you had E's Baptism yet? If yes, how did it go?
Cathy - LOL re the shower, I have had a few at 9pm at night after crazy days. I should really go and have one now as Bailey is asleep. Good to hear from you. I have been checking out your photo's on FB. Sounds like an infection re the Belly Button, maybe get it checked out?
AFU - all is well, although Bailey has had a few mornings where he wakes up with a terrible belly ache and cries and yelps with pain until he poo's. Yesterday I ended up giving him some paracetamol as I couldn't bear to watch him deal with it any longer (he then went to sleep and did a MASSIVE poo at the next feed), have tried lots of other ways to help him - bicycle legs, gentle massage, burping etc - any other ideas? I hate medicating him unless its absolutely necessary.
Yesterday we went out for lunch and he was sooooooooooooooo good, slept for 2.5 hrs in the pram (despite my PITA MILA hovering in front of him for 2 hours asking when he would wake - WHAT is WRONG with this woman,? I told her I would like him to remain asleep as he obviously needed it) When he awoke and settled happily back into his pram after his feed he was giggly and smiley for 2 hours - I was so proud of him. I am a horrible bit** though as later when the MIL again stuck her head in the pram he burst into tears after smiling at everyone else and I was secretly glad, serves her right for being a PITA all day. LOL Karma will no doubt get me for taking secret pleasure in that LMAO. I'm so evil!! I need to build a bridge and get over my MIL issues!!
I think Bailey is in the middle of his 12 week (I KNOW 12, yes 12 week) wonder week/growth spurt. He fed 11 times on Saturday and then slept it off yesterday and has had a few interesting mornings, but mostly things are getting easier overall.
I must go and visit some child care centres as we will be using a couple of days of child care this time next year and there are some LONG waiting lists so I really need to get it organised now - crazy, I think that will be my goal this week
Take care, and G'day to all the other Mummy's
Naomi
