BG - Hope you have a great trip next week - we are also away next week in Manly NSW with the IL's - have been reading your posts about packing on FB for hints - we are flying up there though and only driving back so have to be very careful with the packing as need to lug all to airport on PT and make sure have enough room in the car to bring it back and some of the IL's luggage too!

Amy - I think that did answer some of my questions cheers.

Any opinions anyone on what to do with childcare for CJ once I am on maternity leave - at the moment I am planning on keeping her at childcare but just for two days a week instead of 3. I think we can afford to keep her there for two, and she seems to really like it there especially now she is in toddler junior and they do many more activities (craft, puzzles, reading etc)and I figure it will be good for me to get a break and just have the new bub those days as once mum goes home have no other support really. I thought also is probably better two days than just one, and might be good to keep her going rather than pull her out then get her back in a year or so. What do you think any alternative suggestions?

Vic - when we have baby #2 we plan on keeping Bailz in CC at least 1 but probably two days too. We have multiple reasons, first one being practical - Bailey was on the waiting list for a year to get in, so we don't want to lose our spot, secondly like CJ he loves it and he gets to do lots of fun stuff that I probably wouldn't have the energy to do at home with two kids, and thirdly, then I get to have some 1on1 time with the new baby and sleep when they do etc etc like I did when Bailz was new. And fourthly (not a word LOL) then we don't have to get him re-settled back into care when I return to work again.

We hope to get pregnant later this year - likely we will go down the IVF/ICSI route again after June (assuming Optus pays a bonus this year otherwise we simply cant afford it :( ). I would love to have another winter baby but heck I'll take ANYTHING :) Cant be fussy when you are in our shoes!

Bailz had a paed appt last week and he still has ongoing issues with his pee pee hole being too small as the skin kinda grows over it. Paed says his seen quite a few issues where the skin over the pee hole almost covers the hole completely and he thinks its related to the use of commercial baby wipes, so we have to use a steriod cream for a few months as it will thin the skin a little. But he kinda popped the hole open a bit (eek there was a touch of blood) so now Bailey pee's in a stream again. He also is sending us for a cranial ultrasound (couldn't get an appt till end of march) as Baileys head is big (always has been) but it jumped a percentile. He says his being cautious rather than waiting till next appt. I'm not overly worried because as I have mentioned previously both Sean and I are in the top percentile so its genetic. Paed checked his fontanelles which aren't closed yet so we can do an ultrasound rather that a CAT scan which would require a GA to keep him still - so am hoping the fontanelles dont close over soon as I believe its around the 2yo mark that this normally happens. Other than that he is perfect and developing well, still in orthodics and likely to be for many months yet :(

We are heading to Melbourne on April 8th as Sean has a gig in St Kilda. We are looking to arrive on the Fri morning/lunch and probably fly home on the Sunday or Monday - depends on cost. We'll stay in St Kilda I reckon so its easy for Sean to lug guitars etc to the gig. Anyone free on the Fri night to keep Bailz and I company or perhaps on the Saturday to catch up for a playdate? I am just waiting on some Flight Centre vouchers from work to arrive then I will book it all and have specifics :) Hope to catch up with some of you - YAY x

Nay - Yup, I made the avi myself. It took me a number of hours, but only because I made about 5 different avi's before I decided on that one, lol! I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but it's fun making them.
Sounds like Bailz's paed appointment wasn't exactly fun. I hope the peepee hole manipulation wasn't too painful for him. It doesn't sounds pleasant at all! I've never heard anything about commercial baby wipes having that sort of effect. I hope he didn't tell you that in a sort of accusatory way because it would be very unfair to make a parent think that they had caused that problem if there is absolutely no proof that that's what caused it. I'm sure if it was something that was going on then I'm sure we would have heard about it before, especially considering we are on a forum that is rather pro-cloth wipes etc...
I'm happy though that he's sending Bailz for the ultrasound even just for peace of mind. I'm sure that he's just following in his big-headed parents footsteps, lol, but I can totally understand wanting to be sure all is ok. We have made an appointment at the cardiologists for when Shayla is 8 weeks just to check all is perfect, even though it was the cardiologist himself that said we don't need to unless we just want peace of mind.
I'm excited for you about starting the journey soon for a second baby. I have some things left over from my last cycle that I'll give to you if I see you when you come down to Melbourne. I won't say what it is on here because I'm sure that technically you probably aren't meant to share, lol. I'll definitely try to catch up with you guys when you are down though. We'd love to see you!!!

TripleJ - You'll be living fairly close to me when you are in Airport West. It's only about 15 minutes from Caroline Springs. :)

BG - Once again, good work on the packing effort you did with E's stuff. I forgot to mention on your facebook that when Kyson decided to go in the pool with his tshirt on, he initially went in still wearing his nappy, lol! I took photos of him once his nappy was off, but only one photo was appropriate for facebook because all the others showed his manhood, hehe. Have fun in Canberra!!!

Vic - I'm probably not the best to give advice about CC because Kyson hasn't been, but if I put myself in your position I would probably agree with the other girls and keep CJ in CC a day or two, especially seeings as she enjoys it. Even if you decided to pull her out though, you'd cope fine honey! I'm finding that I'm still able to interact with Kyson almost as much because I can do a lot of playing with him while I'm feeding or just holding Shayla. And when she sleeps I often put her down in the same room and have a play with Kyson. With Shayla still sleeping lots at the moment I'm able to rest with her when Kyson has his nap too :)

KL - How did you make the Avi? And do you just send it to the mods to upload, I am tempted to try :)

I use photoshop to put all the bits together (like the background and then added the people). The people I got all from different websites. I have some bookmarked, but mostly I just do google searches for the webpages that you can make them on. The hardest to find are the little boys though. There's heaps of little girls out there, but not so many little boys. I got lucky and found one that I thought was really cute. Oh, and all the newborn babies tend to look pretty similar too. So I changed the coloring and made the baby a little softer looking hehe.

Hey, Naomi it is funny that you mention Bailz issues with his Peepee(hehehe) (sorry can't say that without laughing... not at him of course). I was just reading a book by Michel Odent, called the farmer and the Obstetrician and he mentions that there is an increase in issues with hypospadius (can't remember how to spell that) and undecended testies in little boys. They think it is related to our societies high exposure to toxic chemicals. They think that high chemical exposure inutero and in general in our populations is causing it. Amoungst women in Brazil, who work in polly tunnels tending crops that are treated with pesticides and herbicides and all sorts of stuff, they are finding much greater levels of these problems.

DH and I are trying to reduce our chemical loads and have swapped over all of our household products, (well we are doing it slowly). I found it stunning to know that boys are so much more vulnerable than the girls. In Japan they are seeing miscarriages in little boys being 10:1 to the girls after 12 weeks....... Our environments are killing us! Anyway I won't rant. I was really surprised and it has really pushed me to go organic as much as I could and reduce our toxic loads..

Don't know if that makes you feel better or worse.... I think it is an issue for us as a global community

Hi girls,

Just thought I would share my special news. It is still VERY early but I can't help myself and I have to have some people to share with. Last week I got a :bfp: !!! yayay! :leap:

So only 4 weeks preg, but yeah very exciting :) Obviously we haven't told most people. In fact our parents don't even know at all. So please no big congrats on Facebook :)

Anyway so that is me, looking forward to this pregnancy and feeling great at this stage. Trying to eat super healthy. Have lost a few kg's recently and hope to lose a few more just because we are eating so much fresh and health food before I get a bump.

Yay for me :)

Holiday going well, weather mixed, it looks like CJ has stopped BF though we were only on one feed before bed but she has not wanted it since being here :( Am surprised she has kept going this long really as since I got pregnant her interest has definitely diminished but was starting to think maybe she would keep it up till next one. She still is obsessed with holding them and twiddling which I find annoying much prefer her feeding but have not found an easy way to stop her and don't have the heart really she seems to love them so much!!

Bella! Congratulations sweetness! I'm so happy for you. Jemima is going to be a gorgeous big sister ♥

Thanks Girls. That is funny Naomi that you just "knew". fingers crossed for less M/S this time. Gonna enjoy this pregnancy and really savour it I think

Nay: Wow, you are pischic. LOL! (Did you ever watch Hey Dad?) Sorry to hear B has been having problems with his pee hole. :( I didn't realise. Hope the 'popping open' didn't hurt too much. Interesting about the baby wipes! I have become so lazy with P - she used to be in cloth nappies most of the time and I used cloth wipes but lately she's hardly worn cloth and the cloth wipes have sat on the shelf for... probably the last year! Since I started working again anyway. I wonder if they effect girls also?
Hopefully the orthotics are helping Mstr B a lot and one day he can chuck them away.

We have been traveling along happily here. I am very in-love with my girls ATM! P has been chucking MEGA tanties though :( It is ok though because I just let her get it all out and then she is right as rain again. (Problem is lately it is taking about half an hour for her to get it all out! She just goes on and on and on...) But she is so happy the rest of the time. A real chatterbox (I can't understand most of what comes out of her mouth, LOL! But her babble sounds cute anyway.) She is now counting up to eleven and it's sooooooo funny, she gets to eleven and then shouts, "ELEBEN!!!!!!" and claps herself, LOL! It's hilarious. I think they count a lot at CC. They also play this game where the teacher puts something on her head, pretends to sneeze and it falls off. Apparently the kids pi$$ themselves laughing every time. P has started to do it at home and I have to admit to laughing at her! It is very funny. She is certainly a much better eater than Natty too - I remember that at this age Natty was already very fussy and P is 'normal' in that I know she'll eat if she's hungry.
Nat is doing well and she loves drawing and crafts. Makes it a lot easier for me actually because she will sit down and draw and/or paste for ages and P is always watching her and often doing what she does. So sometimes I can have them both sitting up and drawing while I do important things... like play on the internet. ;)

I am gonna have to go back to work. Do you girls have some tips about how to pick a day care facility?
