MD, no time for that sort of behaviour around here. If he won't feed himself then he goes hungry, if he won't go to the toilet by himself I just tell him that if he has an accident because he is being silly then he will be wearing pull-ups (one follow through and he knows I am serious). This is where half of his tantrums came from, because I wouldn't indulge his every whim. I am sure I could have gotten away with a lot less tantie time had I been his slave like he thought I should be, but that I just can't hack being ordered around by a little kid!
W is pretty assertive at home. He has just started in the last few days saying things along the line of A isn't allowed to play with us or that he will kick her if she takes what he is playing with(!!). I am not sure if that is just a natural progression or if something has happened at kindy?
JM, call it incentive rather than bribery, sounds more like pro-active parenting lol I am quite a fan of the incentive approach too. Amazing how quickly dinner gets eaten if there is a mention of dessert afterwards!

OMG! The lecturer put up our assignment model answers and grade distribution graph for the worlds second most boring assignment the other day and I was sure I was the person that got the 5/20 mark but I just figured out how to get my marks and I got 14/20!! Doesn't sound really flash but I thought I was dreaming just hoping for a pass. The class average was 12.3 so obviously everyone else found it as tedious as I did.
I had my sights set firmly on a C for this paper, but I might look a little higher and aim for a C+ now lol

Well done Arte! You should be suitably impressed with yourself. With one of the subjects i did last year they put up a graph of all the marks for the final essay and some of them were terrible!! It wasn't a hard question either because the whole point to it was simply showing that you knew how to write an academic essay. I do feel for the people that get the low marks because it puts so much pressure on you to do well next time.

Trill, judging from the online forum for the paper, people are totally over complicating it. I have stopped reading the questions people ask because it makes me feel like I am not putting enough in/am on the wrong track but in reality I think some people are over cooking it. I also feel bad for those that got the low marks, because often they are people that have put in a lot of effort but have gone down the wrong path with it iykwim

Hi everyone
Hope you are having a great weekend....
Trill how was the child free night? Hope netball went well.
Arte - wtg on the assignment...
Jungle - you are making me jealous with your alone time! I crave that so much...
I did have some alone time on fir... It has all been stressful resigning w counter offers and negotiations...and I have been working on a huge tender up to 11 pm at the office a couple of night ( cane home for dinner and bed then back in... Hard core!) and then I have had no sleep bc of the itches...so I was totally strung out on the thu so I booked n I to holiday program me at kinder ( which he has been loving) and had some time..went shopping and did errand and just got all my thought together..needed it! We are off to noosa on tue so will Make up for not spending the day w him then..
My skin has gone crazy... I am like an 80 yr old who has been in an accident from chest to knees covered in bruising and this crazily itchy rash. Went back to dr and I am now on steroids ( tablets now) which I think is calming it down,, thankfully. I loom so awful and I am beyond tired as I am up all night w it. But paranoid re immune system as this is the same steroid dh had for his back... And ten he got pneumonia... Anyway.. Glad it's clearing up my skin! No idea what has caused it...
-
totally random thought mp, but is there anything you've been eating in the 12w body thing that could've caused it?
-
MP, I was hoping that your rash had cleared up :( Have you tried the anti-itch things like calamine or a bath with baking soda or pinetarsol? Don't feel bad about having a day for just you, sounds like you are flat out! Hope you all have a really relaxing time in Noosa.
-
ok, i'm going to throw my own :twocents: in as well...could it be the incredible, life-changing stress finding a 'bodily' way of expressing itself? it seems like this has been a HUGE few months for you babe.
Arte: wtg with the assessment. i have never had a class where they show the graph...that must be so scary wondering which one is yours lol!
-
Hmmmm I wondered about both of those options...I don't think it is 12 week teansformation related...food isn't too diff to what I usually have... I cut back on tomatoes etc in case and also smoked salmon has been a feature..didn't help... I wondered as well about stress..that could be ut..though it started before life got as crazy as it was last week...hmmm....I wonder if it is a weird virus? Boys had gastro...maybe thus is a morphed version?. Who knows... Think the steroids are kicking it..still itchy but it is less inflamed and red...it's like I can see alight at the end of the tunnel.. Still I. The tunnel but threes a light at least! Sorry to be such a whinger bout it all
It's Passover tomorrow night...I am hosting at my place again...28 people....so lots of cooking today at my place, mums and mil...
-
Gosh MP, my hats goes off to you to have Passover at your house with everything that you have going on for you atm  I hope the steroids keep working.
We lost netball 51-19 - we were down 4 of our regular players and only had 1 reserve so we all had to put in a massive effort but their shooters were just fantastic - I'm sure both of them could stand on the 1/3rd line and drop them in LOL! But we are still up there in the top 3 teams so it's not too bad But the 10 hour bus trip to and from there was fun ;) I wasn't drinking but it was loads of fun. We stopped at every bloody pub on the way back - mostly only for pee stops though. I haven't had a trip like that in years.
-
MP - Poor you, those itches sound terrible. Enjoy the cooking, wow, 28 people, I would be freaking out about that many at my place! And so jealous of Noosa!
Trill - bummer about the netball, but glad it was still fun.
We're back home now, but K decided to extend her holiday with Granny and her cousin so we'll see her on Wednesday. No complaints fromo DH or I about sleepins for the next few days (well as much as I can sleep in seeing as I am back at work tomorrow)
