Operation fatten up L has worked ok but has mainly ended up with J and I stacking on the kgs. Even my dad commented on how fat J is!
I am at the Ben 10 show right now! It is interval and we are waiting for Ben 10 to come back on. For the life of me I will never understand why boys love this alien super hero stuff so much!

Speaking of pineapple lumps (the pineapple lump fairy rides again), i noticed they have a pineapple lumps easter egg for sale this year! Was thinking getting for DH just so we could all say "pine-epple" in our worst kiwi "eccents" (good for a laugh in my house).

Cass, I think the problem with the public system is it all comes down to the particular chain of command that you land in. I have a friend who was denied a mast in one hosp even though her recurrence risk was up around 80%, when she finally summoned up the courage to ask for a referral to another hosp (several years later), they offered her a bilat AND immediate reconstruction, with plenty of support and counselling thrown in. She ran into a registrar at the new hosp who had been at the old hosp when she'd had her treatment, and he told her he had argued with the previous surgeon (head of dept) over her case but because other surgeon was the boss there was nothing else he could do. It's the same faulty power structure that makes the military a ****ty, unfair place too.

Trill, the whole mice thing sounds totally infuriating and exhausting too I bet. I wondered if there is some kind of enzyme based cleaning product designed for use in vet clinics, kennels etc, that might help (enzymes will break down the stinky proteins in the mouse wee) - could be worth snooping on the net to find something like this.

MP - congrats on getting the position! Hope the skin calms down quickly. My friend has had a nasty persistant rash, had to get a heap of UV light treatment done. Hers is all about stress, so it might be worth investigating the relaxation angle too if you haven't already :hug:.

LOl MD, I think you won that challenge hands down. I used an amonia based cleaner today to mop the floors and it seems to have worked for now. We found out they were getting in around the laundry washing machine taps, so we've plugged them up as best we could - the gap was tiny - tinier than I thought the'd get through but DH saw one coming out of there.

G, the public system sucks sometimes. All you can do is keep on them about where you are on the list and I hate to say it, but hope that he gets it again because the more often they have it the quicker they will get it done. All the people I know around here who have had kids done have all had to lie and say their kids are getting it all the time and even their GP's support them on that in their letter to the ENT's. It's absolutely terrible that they have to do that but if they didn't they'd still be on the list probably.

JM, I am guessing you have arrived back in Aus? How was the trip? Has your baby started moving? Are third babies just lazy? Mine isn't doing much either. Both of the others were very noticeable by now but this one only gives the occasional movement that may or may not even be the baby.

MP, how did quitting go? Were they aware that it was on the cards? Hope it is all going smoothly for you. How is the skin today?

I am sooo tired! The kids are behaving well and there are only a few wake ups at night. I think it is just the drain of doing it all by myself - 5am to 9ish at night is a long day without a break. I have no idea how I am going to manage when DH goes to China for a conference in June. It is a 5 day conference and I am guessing at least two travel days either side. So around 9ish days and I will be nearly 7 months pregnant by then too. Anyone want to come over and help me??

Or you could have an anterior placenta like i did?! I didn't feel very much at all until about 22 weeks. And now it goes nuts! Yep arrived last night after a big day traveling. Trip was good, but it's a long day. up at 3.30am and arrived home at about 6pm. I have my closest and oldest friends wedding on Sunday so i have a few kid free days coming up to get things organised. By 'things' i mean waxing, pedicures, and coffee dates. :lol: The wedding isn't conventional, we're going to see 'Dr Shivago' at her majesties theatre in Melbourne, then a casual dinner after. Should be fun. :)

Sounds like a good weekend JM. I had anterior placenta with the other two. Maybe I am just stretched beyond repair and have no sensation now lol. How is your brother doing now? Any luck with the new professor?

Thanks for asking Arte. He's actually doing a lot better. Still not anywhere near ready to go back to work but a vast improvement. They worked out there was only one med that was common to all three episodes so he's off that now and it's been the best thing. He has been more motivated, he's even going to the gym! It's such a slow road, but hopefully things are improving this time.

THat is really good to hear that about your brother JM. He must feel so much better within himself too. The wedding sounds like loads of fun too.

Arte, we do have pineapple lumps over here. L and I like them but the others don't so they are our guilty pleasure. It is a huge slog to do a few days on your own. When I was pg with P, DH was working 13 day fortnights and the days themselves were 16 hours long - it was a big mine construction project so it was big $$ but it meant that for 8 months I was effectively parenting on my own because even when DH was here at night or on a day off, he was so exhausted that he just needed to rest or get work done around the farm.

I think we might be winning the mouse war LOL. I caught two mice in the office last night and there was another poisoned one on the kitchen floor today. Also the rat poison in the roof is working because we've not heard them up there for a good two days now. If it didn't start working I would have resorted to using phostoxin - think mustard gas for rodents ;) it would mean we'd have to move out for a month though LOL.

MD, I saw the pineapple lump easter eggs - pascall are making them. There are a few in our local IGA. I haven't seen them anywhere else but there though.

Trill- I just heard on the radio that captain snooze are having a sale and thought of you. Is there one within driving distance???

Trill, that is interesting that you have Pineapple Lumps - the marketing here trumps them up as a NZ icon.
I guess it is the same as Weet-bix though. Sanatarium is a NZ company (prob foreign owned now) and we had the "kiwi kids are Weet-bix kids" song - I nearly choked when I saw the same ad on telly with the word Kiwi replaced with Aussie! So they do the same 'part of the culture' campaign in both countries - and we fall for it!

JM, I really hope it was the drug causing your bro's coma problem. It is good that he is feeling better too, obviously that drug must have had mega side effects anyway.

Sanitarium is an Aussie company Arte - but the NZ Sanitarium company is a sister company to it that was opened later on. I think pineapple lumps are seeing a resurgence because I hadn't seen them around in years and years except in speciality lolly shops and now I can get them in the local BP service station if I want LOL.

JM there is a captain snooze near me, but we just don't have time to get there. I will be able to next week though.
