Big hugs Ginger, what a week you've had. Hope you and DH were able to sit down and have some cuddles and wine after the littlies went off to sleep tonight.
Hour long bedtime dramas here tonight. Usually it's me hiding out, but DH couldn't cope tonight. Probably not helped by the 4am bedtime last night with work issues.

Final round job int today... i am fairly sure i have an offer coming... they have told me they are rescoping the role around what i do best (strategy/chg management/stakeholder engagement etc) and moving some of the stuff i was less keen on to another person (and the guy who will be my boss if i take the role). i am off to meet the head honcho today.... i also have another company i am talking to now, it is kinda annoying as the timing of the diff processes wont align (but i think i know what i woujdl take even if they were aligned timing wise). its v exciting - i am v ready for a chg. that said a little freaked out by the lifestyle issues - being based in the city (which i LOVE but makes liufe harder - my office in 10 mins from home and around the corner from N school now), full time etc... and less personal credibility so less 'lee way' at the start. but i need the challange. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. a little freaked about resigning when it comes time too... and hoping for a week or 2 off in the middle... anyway enough about my work - prob none of that makes any sense - i am brain storming/dumping! LOL!

Ange - yay 4 months will be awesome. will Dh come for some of it? we will have to have a few catch ups.

Girls - J has started to get up at 4 or 5am everey day. i think he is sometimes hungry - have tried loading him with as much food as poss in the evening (including a banana in the BATH!) which i think has helped with the nigbht wake ups but then at 4ish he seems ot have a tummy ache (the last 2 days). gets up and guzzles down a milk (or up and go - which i think may be constipating him??) and any food i will offer. he wont sleep on me and wont come into our bed. ideas??????????

That's awesome news MP. Congrats. :) A new challenge is always good. DH will be home for a couple of weeks, but can't really take a lot of time off.
Cally- Bedtime dramas are the pits, everyone is tired from a big day and generally has little patience left. It just about tips me over the edge if we have night time meltdown. Fortunately they are pretty good most of the time.
We've just put the girls in together and things have improved dramatically i must say. Lu will now go to sleep without one of us lying with her and sleeps all night in there. Yipee!
MP, Congrats! Hope the new job is the challenge you are looking for. If you are going to take the job? I can't offer any advice about the early rising - A did it to me this morning too. I just got in her bed and tried to get some sleep while she babbled and pulled my hair and fidgeted around.

Trying to stay up for another hour for the Sci-fi quiz but it is hard since A wouldn't let me go back to sleep after 4am. Then she spent all morning while we were getting ready for kindy following me around crying! *** kid, if you would friggin' stay asleep you wouldn't be a tired mess!! Sympathy zero!

Uni is good Arte. I got one assignment back today and only got a C - 68% - which is fine, but what ****ed me off was that I emailed the lecturer to ask what should be covered because none of us had any real idea and I got told that my suggestions were fine, then the marker said no, those things weren't really the right thing to talk about! Anyway can't complain - one girl failed miserably and she's devastated as the essay was worth 50%.
MP, that is fantastic! I knew you'd impress them. So when will all of this happen?
Ange, so you'll be here from now till the birth then? Is DH going to be able to get over here for it?

I would like him to Trill, but in reality he won't make it. I had L at 38 weeks and S at almost 42. So he can't really come and just wait iykwim. And I'm not willing to be induced for convenience. So he will come a little after or on the due date or if we hear news otherwise. I think I'm cool with it. Would like him to be there but tbh I feel like I'll be ok on my own. Mum 'might' come. I know she'd love to and she knows her way around the hospital so would be a great advocate for my wishes. But she's not all the sympathetic! More a down to business kinda lady. Lol. I told her she'd need to hone her sympathy, supportive skills. She was a little put out, but she got over it. :lol:

Thats a bugger about him not being able to be there. Is he OK with it though? LOL at your Mum. I'm sure if she was there with you she'd do all the right things. I have no idea if they were standardised. I don't even know who marked mine - he had a ****ty signature and I can't read it but they split them up and have several different markers, so maybe she just got unlucky. From what she said she had covered zero of the content we were supposed to, but I reckon if you aren't sure then you should email them and ask - better to look like a numpty for asking than looking like a numpty because you failed.

JM, I was sooo upset at the thought of having no one at A's birth and then in the end it didn't matter at all! It turned out to be such an internal process I wouldn't have noticed if he had been there anyway. It is a bit sad that DH missed the birth but there are certainly worse things in life.
Trill, bummer about the mark, but if everyone got low then it won't matter in the end because they should scale the overall marks to fit the normal curve anyway. Sucks for the girl that failed. I might be in that boat soon, just sent away an assignment that I know was substandard. I really hate doing that but there wasn't time to do better and the subject was so airy that I don't even think time would have made a difference iykwim?

Never a stupid question just a stupid answer! That is really unfair when different people mark. There is no way they all see things I'm the same light.
Dh is a great father, but I really don't think he gives two hoots if he's at the birth or not! Lol. Sure he'd be there if he could and is a great support but I don't think he'll lose sleep over not being there. He is so practical, i think he sees me as just another cow birthing. Lmao.

JM, I think DH is the same. He would be there if it was practical but not overly worried if he misses it. W's birth traumatised him a bit - not allowed to mention the placenta because apparently it came out so fast it bounced lmao. He is a bit squeamish and to be honest, birth is quite gross!
it bounced??? omg arte you are a crack up lol! well to really gross your DH out just tell him that when it's a waterbirth they float around like a jellyfish :o
JM: how do you feel about being possibly on your own for it? i guess if you do feel you want some support you could ask a doula or a student middy? TBH i couldnt imagine doing it without someone that was meant to be there only for me...but i do like an audience hahaha!
sherie: oh that is really bad for your mate. if i were her, i would ask for it to be re-marked. that way it is marked by the course convenor. generally they do agree with the marker (even if it is unfair...unfortunately, your assignments are not marked according to individual merit, but as a group as they HAVE to fit on a J curve scale. harsh, but the reality IYKWIM). it is worth her getting it marked again, even if to just bump her up a teeny tiny bit.

AFM: all good here. have pulled marta out of kindy...bit scared as it is so hard to find any place here and have been told 18 months to wait...eppp! but TBH she just didnt need to be there and it was alot of driving (45 mins each way). not to mention just over $100 a day now that i am no longer a student :o. i am still scared though as they were gorgeous carers and Leila just loves it there, but ATM it just didnt fit right ITMS. soooo now i am having for the first time ever just time with the girls (leila still does 3 year old kinder 2 days); and you know what? it feels really nice! no thesis to worry about, no real stress! of course i am applying for the DFAT job, but urgh TBH i think i totally flunked the mathematical component (no calculators arghh!!!!!). i am ok with percentages and patterns etc, but sooo not good with values and those big problem solving ones....especially when you are only given 20 seconds to answer each question :o. totally bummed, but what can you do?
Cass, that sounds like a scary interview! That is a massive amount of childcare bill! Loving the NZ system, it costs $5 per week to send W to kindy.
That is a lot of driving (and petrol money) as well. Will be nice just to relax at home with them.
I forgot to say for any Home and Away fans, Kim is married to W's teacher's sister! He is Thor in the movie Thor which is about to be released and she was showing us a pxt of his new doll lol.
OMG Arte, explain that again...Thor is W's kindy teacher's BIL??!!! Awesome, DH and I were just saying we'd love to go and see that when it opens. Have no idea who this kim is you speak of though :rolleyes:.

MP - massive congrats! :D I think that old line about a change being as good as a holiday is a crock, but it's sounds like you're ready to embrace a new adventure, with all the wonderful things it will bring!
Girls this is a selfish post....I had the worst, worst day today. I had my worst mummy moment EVER and I cannot stop crying, I will never forgive myself :( Went out for a nice lunch with my mum and one of my sisters, and brought both my girls along. On the way out I figured it was only a very short walk to the car and I did not strap E into the pram. Biggest mistake. I turned my back on the pram and M to pay the bill and mum and my sis had turned away as well. Turned around in time to see the pram come crashing down and poor baby got completely flung out. M had been standing on the edge of the pram and had somehow pulled it down. I absolutely panicked and I was just beside myself. E was screaming but thankfully she was ok. But I lost it at M in the packed restaurant (when really its my fault to begin with). I dont know how many times I have told her not to climb on the pram, always thinking one of these days she will knock the pram down.....bloody hell.....everyone was looking and people rushed over to help. I was so shaken and so was my mum and sis, we all had a cry when we got outside. I am still fuming at M, to the point where my mum and sis said they would look after her for the arvo, they probably thought I needed a break from her to calm down. But most of all I am fuming at myself!!!!!!! Never ever have I had an accident like this before....bad bad mummy moment. Just so glad poor E is ok, but she was so shaken.
Oh H huge huge hugs babe. That must have been so scary. Don't beat yourself up or be to mad at M, it was an accident and these things happen. Everyone is ok and that is the main thing.
Isadora, :hug: It happens to the best of us hun. I am sure neither of the girls will be harmed for life by it and it is the natural response to growl if one kid has hurt the other - I have done it more than once. Maybe next time M will think twice before she jumps on the pram. Glad E was alright.

oh Isa! that would of just been awful for you xx but i have to agree with the others, this stuff happens and yeah, it totally sucks and is heart-stopping, but like Oz mentioned everyone is ok and you'll be ok too :hug: (if you feel really bad for M just go into her room and give her a cuddle: have you had a moment to be able to talk to her about it? sometimes i find that it helps both me and leila to just go over it and for me to tell her why i lost it (and that i am sorry) and how i was scared that they were hurt etc etc...can be very therapeutic!)

ok, did i mention that i had gastro? omg, massive understatement (although is gastro really an understatement?). i am having visions of JM and her ugg boot gastro incident here...oh yeah it is that glamourous! thankfully DH took leila out to a birthday party for a couple of hours and Marta slept the whole the time so that i could just rest and vague out. but i am totally devastated as today was the midwife autumn picnic (our midwives group meets 2 times a year) and i really wanted to catch up with them all :(
I had the debrief chat with M. I'm glad that my sister and mum insisted that she stay with them yesterday arvo, while I went home. They brought her back at 6pm. Gave me time to cool down, I was so upset that i was gasping for air while crying when retelling the story to DH at home. Havent cried like that in forever!!! I had nightmares last night about it. Still feel incredibly guilty. But anyway I'm glad that they took her, they must have realised I would yell at her big time once home, I was fuming. But after I cooled down I realised its my fault, not hers. Although she knows she shouldnt be standing on the edge of the pram and keeps telling me it was an accident and she wont stand on the pram again. Really really made me feel like the worst mum, thats my worst mummy moment ever.
ALSO we went out for dinner last night. DH insisted and my eyes were all sore from crying lol. Anyway once there it was all good. But while waiting for a free table I had to feed E so the restaurant had a little waiting area to the side with a comfy leather lounge, so I sat there. It was a busy little spot but I was barely exposing myself, especially now I've learnt the knack of public feeding without it really looking like I'm feeding. And this man, I couldnt believe him, he kept looking and giving me a filthy look, so i gave him a death stare back. Once he left the restaurant host man came up to me and was all 'are you comfortable there, can i get you a drink, stay there as long as you need and I will take you through to your table when you are ready' He was wonderful and obviously saw the disgusting man shooting me the evils and was trying to let me know I was welcome to feed. So that was my first public feeding dirty look lol
Cass - That sounds terrible, hope the girls dont get it!!! Good on your DH for taking L out.
Isa :clap: for giving him the dirty look right back!! (and kudos to the restaurant man too). :) Re the pram episode...you live and learn, try not to be too hard on yourself :hug:. I would've been beside myself too I think.

Ginger, how you going sweetie? I hope L is on the mend now. DD1 really turned the corner from memory around day 3 or 4 so I hope he's past the worst of it now.

Well it turns out the ILs are a blessing in disguise as the FDC lady rang this evening to say she can't have E this week because her youngest has chicken pox (?? and is vaccinated :wall:) so now i'm a) panicking because I really have *not* done enough study and have an assignment due next week and while MIL will mind E while I"m at work it's not quite the same as having her in care on my days off b) am anxious about how it's going to go with MIL minding E while I'm at work and c) sweating over whether E is going to sprout the pox too. *SIGH* (yes, in capitals). Why does this **** always happen when DH is away???
Cass, bummer about the gastro. My words of wisdom are: if you are racing to the loo for the poo/spew double, make sure you sit on the toilet and spew on the floor, 'cos the other way around is just so much worse!

MD, can you level with the IL's and just ask them to take the girls out to the park/zoo/pool/anywhere because you have an assignment due and need to get some study done? As for the pox, I am going to say (based on nothing) that because she got the rash after the vacc she will not get it now.
Well yesterday was a disaster! Got hit with a massive bout of MS, the all-day nausea where you just want to curl up and cry somewhere. I can't believe I lived like that every day for two months with W! DH was away hunting and I sent a heap of increasing desperate text messages to him, but by the time he received them at lunch time, he and his hunting buddy had split up with plans to return to the truck at 4pm so he couldn't come back. Then I sent a bunch of ...not very nice....messages at 5pm for not letting me know what was happening for tea etc, until he replied that it was only just 4pm and I had forgotten about daylight savings lol. Anyhow, DH got tea ready and did the night shift so I got a full night in my own bed. Feeling better today thankfully.
Now W has "poo farts", so I guess I will keep him home from kindy today.

W is sick. His poo-farts turned into a half hour stay on the toilet -thank goodness he wipes his own bum because the smell in there was making me gag!, and then he puked up (on the lino, bless him) and then went and got a towel to clean it up. Then he fell asleep on the couch.
I have no idea what to do with sick kids. We haven't had any sick here for over two years of the d & v variety, just a few runny noses and the pox. When do I take him to the Dr? He isn't hot at all, his cheeks are cold.

Arte - yep just try to keep his fluids up and v basic food if he will eat. i reckon give it a couple of days... bith mine had it recently, and we didnt need to go to dr - just keep hydrated and rested... poor thing!

Arte: well we are in the midst of the V and D tour in our house...and yes, i have (sorry for TMI) but mastered the art of bucket while on the toilet lol :tmi: i just bought those hydralyte icy-poles for us. i also have the drink, but leila wont have a bar of it, so the icy pole version wins :rolleyes:
and yeah, i second MP on the simple foods. no fat, dairy, nothing rich. leila has been surviving on crackers and leek and potato soup lol. DH just made a beautiful chicken broth to help get our energies back.
and all day nausea?? eepp! are you sure it's the MS?? could be the good ol' gastro bug....
can't stay on long as the gastro here is still really full on. and on top of that leila has also got a really bad headcold and is dealing with a temp of 40 (38.9 after panadol poor poppet).
today i got too dehydrated and had a bit of a crazy heart episode (i recognised it from when i was ill with the tonsilitis all that time ago), so went to the GP to be checked and yeah my poor ticker is taking a bit of a hammering :( . thankfully i have been able to keep sips of hydralyte down since then so am feeling less black-outy and dizzy. but it does make me worry what with the BF and all...i get so thirsty after them IYKWIM.
(sorry about the me post, can you tell i really really dislike being ill lol??!)

I am not a good sicko. Thankfully I don't get d&v very often and as long as I stay away from lentils I am fine.
I am pretty sure that it was MS, not unusual for me to feel sick all day, just not usually that bad this pregnancy. I suspect I was fighting something off, I tend to feel worse if I am tired or run down.
W woke from his nap and now he is fine. Running around like he has had a jar of jellybeans! Is he alright to go to kindy tomorrow or do you keep them home for a safety day?
After all my effort yesterday not to spew, I lost out today from the various gastro smells lol
ETA, Cass, is hydralyte a Dr prescribed generic mix or a pre-packaged off the shelf deal? Most of the electrolyte replacement things are about twice as concentrated as you need. If they are making you thirsty then make up the amount with half the powder (or chase it with the same again of plain water).
i've both i think. i got the tablet one that you pop into water, but i am guessing that the icy-pole one is probably super concentrated...:think:
as for kindy: i dont know! we got hit hard by it, so i will keep leila home once this passes for a day or two (more that her immune is shot right now), but i have zero idea how long gastro is contagious for??
man, i feel for you with the spewing...especially smelling that lovely aroma lol!
Cass, I held it together well for the spew, but the diarrhea...the smell...poor kid, I couldn't go near him.
And to top it off, I wet my pants while I was puking. I love being pregnant.

I had L home today from school - he came down with a head cold/fever thingy and he's totally spent poor kid. Luckily there is no gastro. I think it's just hte crappy weather where it is cold one minute and hot the next. I think he should stay home tomorrow too but DH reckons he'd be right.
well i'll tenatively say that i *think* the gastro (and pardon the pun) is passing! either that or its the high i've gotten from the maxalon still making me think life is rosy :rofl: (man, that stuff has really knocked me about lol).
Trill: ohhaaa i hope that L is better soon :hug: Leila was hit pretty hard by the one she has, but it was coming off the back of the gastro so i guess she was a bit compromised in the first place. it's the fever that is really yuk, it's high and persistent :wall:
if it's anything like the one that our L has, you'll need shares in a tissue factory lol!
Arte: oh yeah, the glamour the glamour! it's one thing that posh spice doesnt really mention about her pregnancies lol! it was funny because i was doing my pelvic floor exercises, but they just didnt seem to be as strong no matter what as they were the first time around.

Cass, he is still in bed asleep and has the box of tissues in there with him LOL. He woke up for all of 10 minutes this morning, could hardly talk because his nose was so blocked so I sent him back to bed. Re the pelvic floor, apparently kegels are no good for it as they make the problem worse in the long run. Squats are now the new kegels because they help lengthen the muscles and pull your sacrum into the right spot. If you think yours is bad after two - imagine what mine is like after 4 boofas!
And LOL at Posh Spice. I bet you'd never ever find out if she had a lovely bunch of grapes down there - not that she's ever been a vaginal birther anyway, but these things still happen during pg regardless of how they come out. It just has me stumped how her body can even sustain a pg with her being so underweight.
