I think we have about 6 more months before Edward catches up and I have to start buying whole cows at a time. :lol:

It was starting to do my head in getting up 3 or 4 times a night. Sleep deprivation really isn't good for a person.

Sleep deprivation and I know each other all too well, personally I have a very strong DISLIKE for sleep deprivation and I wish that it'd keep to itself instead of annoying me lol. Elijah is a bit hit and miss but in the past week has stretched a few times to about 5 hours in one hit then back to about 2 or 3 after that wake up. Hopefully we are on the way to some better sleeping - PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE!!! OooOooh Edward is going to be a tall boy huh. So cute :)

Megan, both Oskar and Elijah just love pasta too! Elijah really has surprised me with how well babies really do and can handle "normal" solids..... man I could've saved myself so much time by not cooking up huge pots of veg and then pureeing and freezing it for Oskar... OMG I wish I knew lol.

Elijah got his second tooth on Friday.... exactly 9 months old! Funny thing, Oskar got his very first tooth when he was 8 months exactly lol. Don't get gummy smiles anymore. Oh he's as cheeky as too, and laughs when playing on his own now which then cracks me up. He still loves to give his mummy big around the neck cuddles though :D I love them, he lays his head on my shoulder and has his little arms around me... just beautiful :)

Mel, I second the catch up on sleep ;) Oooooooooor watch a dvd in PEACE! Relax, you deserve it. Enjoy.

Wow, I have been soooo busy. I don't know what I was thinking going back to work.:p

The boys are good. Edward is almost running now, it still blows me away. He just never stops moving either, he just runs walks from one end of the house to the other because he can. :D He now has 7 teeth and I think number 8 is on the way. Hopefully once this one is through we can have a break and catch up on some sleep before the next round of teeth make their appearance.
He has been coping really well with daycare. He didn't even cry at drop off time for the first couple of weeks. We had drop off tears this week, but he is fine once I am gone... sleeping, eating and drinking like he is supposed to. The principal has found me somewhere to express at work, apparently I am leading the way... noone else has ever put in a formal request. I could have just used the toilets but then I would have had to tip the milk out. I think I would cry if I had to waste so much milk. :lol:
Byron has not coped so well with daycare. Every morning so far he has had to be pried off my legs, and he has screamed and carried on. He starts to cry again as soon as he sees me in the afternoon too. The carers say he is fine during the day, but he has started wetting his pants again. Not every time, but enough for hime to have been sent home in spare daycare pants twice so far. I guess he will settle down.
We have had our first case of gastro already. Byron was up vomiting all Thursday night, then Clive and I were nauseous and couldn't eat all day Friday. Edward seems to have missed out, thank goodness. Hopefully it won't happen too often.

We pulled out the floor coverings in our kitchen and lounge/dining areas last weekend. We have been talking about getting the floors polished for so long, we figured we would give it a go. It trurned out to be much easier than we were anticipating and we did all 3 rooms in about 6 hours. It looks so much better already! Now we just have to organise the sanding and polishing.
We got our new car too!! We got a new Hyundai i30 wagon. It is the 2010 model so has curtain airbags and all the extra safety stuff. It is just wide enough for 3 baby seats so should be fine when we do have bub 3, otherwise we will just upgrade to something bigger in a couple of years time.

Anyway, better go, Byron wants me to play trains. :lol:

Wow, our babies are growing up too fast!

It is fun though watching Ollie make new discoveries everyday. He's standing up on his own now, I think most of the time he doesn't even realise that he's not holding on anymore.

We're doing swimming lessons and gymbaroo this term, gymbaroo was a christmas pressie from my mum and it's great. He slept so well that afternoon too!

We've had a rough week though, I had surgery on Friday, nothing major but because of the anaesthetic I couldn't feed Ollie for 24 hours. He was good though and had a bottle no worries, I won't take the easy breastfeeds in the middle of the night for granted anymore though that's for sure.

And today, we had to say goodbye to our pussy cat Otto. He was truly the most loving, clever, special little guy. He was like a teddy bear at night time, such a cuddly kitty. It was the saddest day :crying:

Mel.... I can't believe that Edward is running around lol... Elijah still is yet to crawl ahahahaha. He gets up on his knees but then faceplants lol. He will hold the side of things and pull himself up on his knees. He can move across the floor a bit by lifting his bum up and onto one foot and a knee and swivel around so he kinda gets around a little until he's just over it lol. Lots of teeth too, wtg little man!! Bummer about the gastro... I dread that awful thing! Oskar is at kindy one day a week now and he's just loving it! He had his first full day last week and omg I loved it too lol. I got to have a coffee and cake IN PEACE - was absolutely DIVINE! How do you like the new car?? Did you get diesel or petrol? Andy is looking at them as a possibility on a novated lease... he has that one or the VW Golf diesel in mind. Oh and good on you for "leading the way" .... I can't believe no one else has ever put in a request, seems strange huh! Good for you :)

Sarah, Ollie is adorably cute, love the pic. Elijah loves his swimming too, goes off! Oh hope you're healing well..... I have to get a thingy cut off my hand but doc said only wouldn't be able to feed for a couple of hours after?? It's apparently under general, but not sure yet. I need to see the specialist first and get all the proper details. Good to hear that he was ok and did feed. Yeah, I can't say I'm a fan of still feeding overnight but I do have to say it's the fastest way to get him back to sleep and therefore my preferred method for me! :hug: about Otto. I saw that on FB. It's very sad :( Hope you are feeling a bit better.

Elijah is still a lazy log haha. 4th tooth almost through now and he's just so funny. He pretends to be coy lol. He's more daddy's boy than Oskar was, which for me is just lovely sometimes cos I do get to hand over to daddy yay. He LOVES LOVES LOVES food. He eats anything you give him. Even had a beef, cheese, spices and garlic pide the other day. It wasn't hot but was a little spicy and he just loved it lol.. it's a turkish bread thing with a filling baked in it. We still have night wake ups, but I'm hopeful that one day this will stop hahahaha right??? Yes, yes it will! I hope soon cos sleep deprivation is NOT good look lol.

Cass, lucky you having an almost 3 year old who isn't throwing tantrums at drop off time! Byron is getting better, but he is still a PITA about me leaving. He is at least starting to tell me he had fun while I was gone.
Edward had a shocking night last night. We had been back to 1 early morning feed for quite a while so I think tooth 8 must be pretty close. He really is a terrible sleeper compared to Byron, and feeds much more than Byron did at this age. I think he will still wean happily... he is always trying to steal Byron's cups of milk and seemed to think cows milk was good the couple of times he has managed to drink some. I need to wean once he is 12 months so I can get AF back... can't get pregnant again without it. :p
I just hope Edward starts sleeping through the night properly soon, he is certainly no teensy thing in need of extra sustanance! He could do it for the first 4 months of his life, I don't know why he can't now. :wall:
I love my car! It is great. I got the petrol version. We decided in the end that we don't actually do enough driving to justify the extra $2500 for the diesel... it would take us 10 years to use enough petrol. I know people with Golfs and they love them too, but you can't get a wagon in the golf.
Better go, Edward was asleep but Byron decided to scream when he toy did the wrong thing and now they are both awake again. :rolleyes:

Mel, omg these two boys are similar with bad sleeping!! Elijah doesn't need fattening up either lol. Oh Oskar screams and wakes Elijah up all the time, do you think this is partly why they're bad sleepers??

Lol @ you and AF... yay though, will be great to go through the journey with you again :) We'll go the diesel as Andy drives about 100km return a day to work. So, we figured it would be a better choice.

So, today this is what happened to me and I'm still feeling rather angry... *pasting it from boohoo thread*

To the lady who thought it was ok to judge me and look at me as though I was neglecting my child and then tell me it was disgusting... YOU had no right to, nor did you even have any idea as to the day I was having or the activity immediately prior to your nasty and higher than thou attitude towards me. For your information, my son had been misbehaving and had just gotten in trouble – hence the tears! You then heard him say I need to go to the toilet about 30 seconds later WHILST I was scanning an object at the price check point which is then when YOU popped out from behind the scanner and decided to butt in! You looked at him and said “oh you poor little thing” and I said, no, not poor little thing, he’s just been in trouble. You cut me off and and said, he really needs to go to the toilet. I said that’s the first time he’s said it and I’ll take him in a minute when I leave here. You then looked at me with a very disapproving look and said I have 4 sons and he REALLY needs to go to the toilet! I said and I’m going to take him, I know what I’m doing!! I walked away and you started following me and shook your head and said “it’s disgusting” so I turned around and yelled at you that I was taking him and to LEAVE ME ALONE!! Oh boy lady, did you **** me off! I was NOT neglecting him, he was crying because HE HAD BEEN IN TROUBLE, not because he was busting to wee! Yes, he said he needed to go to the toilet, but that was NOT why he was crying you interfering cow! You don’t know what he is like and how long he can hold it or anything. Keep your comments to yourself. You really made me angry... I was having a bad day as it was so thank you very much for your input and for making my day HORRIBLE!

You know what gets me... this lady has no idea that so many days I fight just to keep it together and that I haven't slept a full night in about 2 years and that on average it's 2 or 3 times a night that I'm up (that's a good night lol) so that makes it hard enough to start the day with a toddler who is well... 2 lol. Not to mention a 16 yr old who acts 2. Throw into the mix one 10 month old teething baby. How does she know that her actions weren't the last straw for me and pushed me over the edge?? People really need to be more careful what they say and how they judge like that.... one thing to think it but a completely different thing to verbalise it to the person.

sorry for being MIA for a month or more. Have move to beautiful Port Lincoln and lurving it sooooo much. it's a total lifestyle change for us and here's an update;

moved 11th Feb by myself without DP, drove 7 hours from adelaide with my mum. Lachlan was a GEM and slept majority (left at 4am so helped A LOT). started my job and first day they asked if i could work fulltime til march. said no probs as long as only til then. Second week he got gastro for a WEEK as did I so had days off work then he got a cold a few weeks ago (really BAD cough - even went to A & E as thought struggling to breathe) but said ok... went to dr and dr said ok.... thought 'ok being overprotective mum.... this fri he soooo bad!!! i went to work in morn and i felt crud also as i've go too.... went home and took him to doctor - thankfully got antibiotics but he now off his food - my food loving gorgeousness won't eat AT ALL. didn't have bottles yest either or water. but today had botts but barely no food at all.

work is pretty ***sed off of time i've had off - but really i'm supposed to be working 3 days a week NOT 5 and i told them over a week ago i'm no longer wanting to work FT til end of march, but they can't do anything. i dream of resigning now. i hate dropping him at childcare and not seeing him all day. it sucks.

besides that we love it here. i wake up looking at the ocean on top of a huge hill and enjoying learning the country way of life (i.e. on sat's shops not open after 12pm).

AND ................... DP is now DF! woohooooo! going to adelaide to shop for my ring tomorrow. can't wait.

lachy is now into everything - lurves slamming doors, opening doors, opening drawers, doesn't crawl properly just commando's everywhere and pulls himself onto things - ledges etc. likes to know how things work. I think babies are soo clever now.

Cass, I am with you too. What a cow! Thankfully I have never come across anyone that rude... at least not about my children, but if I do they will hear about it!
I did come across a silly tart when I was going for a run the other day. I am not sure what her problem was but she was looking at me and smirking then called out 'damn, girl, you think you're all that'. It really bugged me, especially since she was overweight, had really trashy hair and makeup, and very unflattering clothing. Some people...

Sacha, I know how you feel about work. I really am wondering why am there. I hate drop off at daycare, I hate the rush in the mornings, I hate how they get sick so often. I had forgotten just how frustrating it was when Byron was sick all the time... now it is 2 of them that are getting sick. :doh: I hope Lachlan is better soon! And I am glad you are enjoying country life.

Edward has had a fever since yesterday afternoon. Not sure what it is about, but his nose is running and his poos are rather yucky too. I hope he is back to normal soon, he just seems so miserable.
Otherwise everything is the good.

Just bumping us again!! We all get so busy and just don't get the time to get in here! I actually have only been on the comp 2 times in a week and even then it's been quite fast. I don't usually come on until after kiddies are in bed at night and then it's just too late to do much other than a quick look at a few things and BB has been very neglected lately!

Elijah has finally learnt HOW TO CRAWL! Just a week ago now he did his first little tentative try and now he can do it knowingly. He's not fast yet, but quick enough if he wants something. He is up to 5 teeth now, although I suspect that number 6 may have JUST cut through, will check in the morning. I was putting a bit of Orajel on his gum and thought I felt just a tiny little corner. Oskar only had 4 teeth when he turned 1. Anyway, just giving a quick update as I'm off to bed....

Mel, hope Edward wasn't sick for long and that it was nothing more than teething or a cold.

Sacha, hope work has sorted itself out for you. I hate when you do them a favour but then they try to make you feel bad!

It seems forever since I've popped in here. I keep meaning too, and something always happens and my computer time is cut short! DH has gone to the bank and has taken Noah with him so I can have half an hour to myself.

Just a quick update with how we're going here... Noah started crawling about 3 weeks ago, and has only just yesterday started to stand with me holding his hands (but only for about 5 seconds at a time!). Four teeth, but can't see any others on the way. He has started day care one day per week as I have stared looking for part time work so I wanted to get him in before that happens. He's been doing really well with it and is happy enough at drop off time and full of beans and smiles when I pick him up. Still breastfeeding, and still not sleeping through the night. Getting better but we still have some shockers. A good night means he wakes after 8 hours straight sleep and wants to play and is ready to get up (and that is usually around 4am!). But that's better than stirring and crying every hour or so.

Megan, isn't it fantastic to be able to send them off with dad just for a little bit! We still are BFing too. Elijah is a shocking sleeper most nights and last night was no exception... something like 6 or 7 wake ups between midnight and 7am! I will let him off for the tooth, but COME ON....lol. I got told today by a midwife that I should do CC... ummmm so not going to happen!!! As for birthday, I got his pressie ages ago on sale lol. It's one of those stride to ride walker/bikes. Also has some other thing I got for a bargain. He's having a party too. I have Oskar's birthday first though, 2 weeks to go and he's getting a swing set with a slippery dip. Kinda double whammy cos they'll both get to use it hehe.

Oh and I love the pic of Noah, very cute!

It has been a while since we have all been in here!
Unfortunately Cass, Edward has been a very sick little boy over the past few weeks. He got over the fever and was back at daycare the following week, but by Friday he was coughing and had nasty poos. The Saturday Clive left on a ski trip in Japan that had been planned for ages. Sunday was the Clem 7 tunnel run which I had to take the boys on because they were both too sick to leave with the friend who was going to look after them. Apparently I was on the news last night with the boys in the double pram. lol. Anyway, I had to take 2 1/2 of my 3 work days off that week as Edward couldn't go to daycare with the runs. :doh: He seemed healthy just in time for Clive to get back from his trip and went to daycare again Monday and Tuesday just gone, but woke up in the middle of Wednesday night barking like a seal. He has croup. Woohoo. Clive stayed home with him Thursday. He seems ok again and I will take him to daycare tomorrow, but I am just waiting for the next round.
So, I am sleep deprived and cranky, and am really hanging out for school holidays in a few weeks so I can catch up on my sleep.
Besides the endless stream of viruses, Edward is doing fine. He has 8 teeth and I can see the first of his molars pushing down through the gum. Byron got all 8 molars between 11 and 12 months so we are likely to have a big month of teething to enjoy. :wall: He is climbing on everything! I leave the room for a couple of minutes and when I come back he is dancing on the coffee table. Very cute but slightly unnerving.
As for Edward's birthday...I have been too busy thinking about my 30th which is 4 days before his birthday. He can have a cake and some presents. My parents will be down for my birthday so we might have a little gathering whiile they are here. We have so many boys toys though, I really don't want to buy him anything. :rolleyes:

Anyway, we are getting Indian so I better go get it.

Oh not fun at all Mel!! Do you think that Edward's runs could've been from teeth? My friend's little boy had that a lot when he was teething. Oskar had croup when he was 5 1/2 months old...it's really awful isn't it. It's such a horrid cough too. He slept with me for about a week and Andy was in the spare bed lol. I totally understand the sleep deprivation! Unfortunately me and sleep deprivation are great friends! lol. I hope that Edward stays healthy for you hun. Sick bubs are really tough work.

HI all! I haven't been in here for ages. I need to change my name. lol I have 3 cheeky boys!
My little Lachlan is almost 11mths. He's got 7 teeth. He is standing up and walking along furniture and experimenting with standing up without holding on. So cute! He's also started dancing to music. :) He is still up about 2 times through the night but that's ok. I'm used to it and it doesn't make me too tired. Breastfeeding is going fine and i don't expect to finish anytime soon. He's only had 2 real illnesses - an ear infection and tonsillitis of all things! That was miserable for him AND me. He would just spend hours crying. Poor little thing. But he's all better now :) I'm really looking forward to his 1st birthday although it's hard to believe that it's going to happen. The year has FLOWN. And i'm getting baby hungry again. :o I am not sure why! I wasn't going to have anymore babies! My boys really want a girl. Even my dh is clucky! If i didn't get so sick i'd probably start ttc but i have to plan my life around my pregnancy and it ain't gonna happen right now! lol I better go and put my little man to bed. It's 9pm already! I tried putting him in bed at 7.30 but he wasn't ready.

lol ... I have 3 boys also but not all of them are cheeky!!! Sounds like he's coming along in leaps and bounds! It's like they just wake up one morning and are completely clever and can do all these things they couldn't do before. It's just mind boggling really.

My boys are all ok..... Elijah has 6 teeth and crawls like a pro now. He just pulls himself up so effortlessly too! Oskar didn't do that so I didn't need to worry about much really, but Elijah... omg he climbs the stairs and FALLS down them too! Ok, well once he has cos he was up before we knew it and then down he came at least 3 high. He was fine, was sprawled out on his back at the bottom (kinda comical looking lol) but not hurt. He's such a lovely little bub, gives the best big cuddles and his sloppy kisses...lol...he AIMS for your mouth! He adores being outside, so much like Oskar in that respect. If he's grizzling and you're inside, you can almost guarantee he'll settle if you take him outside.

I've started the first birthday party arrangements!!! Invites have been sent out and I've got his canvas ready for the day now.... I did one for Oskar also. They have pics from birth (literally minutes old) through to the day they turn one... so basically one for each month. Then all the people who come and share the day write a little note on the canvas. I paint the background, then have the pics along with Happy first birthday Elijah on it. I'll pop a pic up when I get a chance to d/l to comp.

Been so busy... I got myself a job and am working 3 five hour days per week (Mon-Wed). Five hours doesnt' seem too bad, but adding travel time to that and it's a 7 hour day. I'm so tired. Hoping things calm down and I find my feet soon. I have to admit though, that I am enjoying it. I love being home with Noah, but I felt like I needed a bit more balance and I think it will be good for us all. It's only casual, so I don't feel like it's forever and it's easy enough to walk away if I feel things aren't working out. So, we have Noah in daycare Mon/Tues and on Wed I work 12-5 so DH looks after him from 11. It's nice they get a day together. They've been going on little outings!
Noah is finally pulling himself to standing, but doesn't move his feet! If he's standing and trying to reach for something he ends up falling over or doing the splits because I don't think he's figured out he can lift his feet to help him move! It's so funny watching him figure things out. Tonight in the bath he just realised that from a certain spot in the tub he can see DH in the mirror so he was playing peek a boo with DH as he was bathing him and cracking himself up.

Mel, how is Edward going? I hope he's feeling better. Poor little guy.

My baby turns ONE tomorrow. :( Party on Saturday...and still a million things to do!

Happy Birthday to Noah!

Wow, birthdays already, I can't believe our babies are turning 1!!! Ollie's birthday isn't until May 5th but we're having an early party next weekend. We're sharing a party, my 30th and his 1st :D

He has totally stopped crawling now, walks everywhere, even tried to walk through the zoo the other day! I borrowed a little bike from the toy library yesterday and he sits on it for a few seconds, but then stands up on the seat and smiles at me. I think he's a daredevil. Dh was so proud, he's a bmx trick bike performer so you can imagine the look on his face when he saw Ollie standing on the seat. Hilarious.

Hi girls, we are all fine here. Edward has been relatively healthy since his bout of croup. He had a fever again the other day but nothing came of it.
He has 10 teeth now, the top 2 premolars came through just after he was sick. We had 1 full night of sleep that got me all excited, but none since. Sleeping has been a bit better though, I think I can see some light at the end of the tunnel.
I am starting to feel a bit more on top of things at work, I don't know how people manage to work full time, especially with multiple children. The boys are enjoying daycare more too which is good. It is so cute hearing Byron tell me about his day, I just love it.
I have also managed to get Edward to have just water at daycare, though he still has a midday feed on home days. No more expressing! yay! I really want to start to wean him onto cows milk after his birthday, but how do you do it when they still have a night feed? Will he just stop wanting that if he can't smell my milk anymore? Byron was so much easier!

Cass, Edward is constantly covered in bruises because he climbs on and then falls off everything. It is really bad at the moment, it is like he has decided that running is too easy so he is going to attempt everything his brother can do. Thankfully he has worked out very quickly to climb off things legs first, he only really falls off when assisted by Byron.

Sarah, I turn 30 on Monday and Edward turns 1 on Friday... I forgot we both had bubs close to our 29th birthdays. I have been focusing on my b'day though. We are only having a little gathering for Edward while my family are around this coming weekend. I haven't got him anything yet, I don't know what to get... we already have every boy toy known to man. :lol:
