Hey jen...yep I, after 2 babies, still have no idea on the b/feeding. I just figure they were Sh#t and it wasnt my fault!!! LOL...it completely traumatised me, however in saying that, I am willing to give it another go. The thing I do like about bottles is that I can meausure how much they are getting...I like to know as it keeps me in control!!! I would like to have a good crack at the b/f as I was a cow loast time and had so much milk. What a waste I say! Still scares me though! My mum said that my sister and I were terrible and that we had to be bottle fed. My 6 brothers on the other hand loved the boob! Anyway, dont be down about it, if it works, thats great, if it doesnt, just move to bottles, you know it wont harm him (ooohh....whats his name?!?!?) Sorry you had a bad day today too. Hope things pick up.
Liv is ok, I think. I think shes super tired....must have been the 1am wake up looking for her dollies and princesses and taking them to bed until I yelled at her to go to sleep at 230am!! I was sleeping on the floor next to her!....nope just took her temp...38.8! Shes happily playing though....although she wasnt too keen on lunch and is a little on the quiet side.
Better go dose her up!

Jen, have you ever thought about joining the Australian Breastfeeding Association? I am a member and although I've only been to two meetings and never used their hotline, I love knowing that they are just a phonecall away with plenty of knowledge. I've actually thought about doing the Cert IV course to become a councillor with them! The planned C-sect early shouldn't interfere with your milk coming in. I read a really good article the other day about how in come cultures, childless women have started lactating after taking on the care of orphaned babies. It's pretty cool! Basically the suckling is what stimulates the milk production. If you still want to talk to somebody after your lactation consultant, you can call the ABA hotline. The number is 1800 mum 2 mum and you don't have to be a member to call :)
Jen, sorry you had such a rotten time at the play centre. Sometimes it's so hard to have a chat at those places. Good luck with your L's!
Mel, bugger about Liv! J has had a slight temp for the past few days.
I haven't slept more than 45 mins at a time for the past two nights and have probably had about 6 hours total in those two nights. Not a fun time in this house. Ben has been great though, he senses that I'm not the happiest and has been full of "Wuv you's" and kisses and cuddles (or tisses and tuddles to be more precise :) ) for me all day. Broke my heart earlier today though when I shouted at him (very rare) for the slightest thing and he looked at me right in the eye and said "Sorry mummy - wuv you!" I felt soooo guilty! Not his fault his little brother has been unwell.
-
Hey mel...i hear you on the sleep, not good here either. Liv has the flu and Rebecca...well shes just her usual self!
Am pretty upset shes got the flu, shes git high temps shaking and just laying there....she slept half the arvo away yesterday. She pics up with panadol though, then it just hits her. Was hoping to have a fun weekend as we have nice weather forcast...looks to be spent nursing a sick child. I hope its over quickly...I have never seen her this sick
-
Mel, big :hugs: to you. There is nothing worse than a sick baby and it's awful to feel so helpless. It's exhausting too, with all the worry. Hope she's feeling better soon.
We had a much better night and I'm feeling pretty good today. DH had to work last night though so I'm pretty much on my own again today :( Bummer :(
-
DG - sorry to hear you're having such a horrid time of it :(
Mel - I'm assuming you're trying for a boy so DTD after O? I have no idea what's happening with my cycle at the moment, AF was almot 2 weeks late and the EWCM has been active for a while, will be getting an OPK for next cycle.
Us - well Pip's started TT now, he's sitting on the potty and wees each time, isn't able yet to tell us when he needs to go. And still no poos in the loo! But, small steps. Will put him into training pants when he can tell us he needs to go.
Sorry I haven't been around much, I read lots but post little.

Hi girls,
Sorry I haven't been around much again! Liam has been pretty sick this week. I had another three days off work this week. In 12 days I have worked 4 :( All due to one or the other of us being sick. Liam has had acute asthmatic bronchitis. He's been pretty sick. And he's teething too! He's gotten two new teeth and two trying hard to come out. I even contemplated taking him to hospital one night. But that would have involved waking Lily and taking her too cause DH was at work, so I just waited it out. I have had no sleep for a few days, just being awake to listen to him breathing, I was so worried he'd stop...and I was home alone a few nights too. I asked DH to stay home with me the night after I was going to take him to hospital cause he was so much sicker, but I had taken him to the doctor (again for the third time!) and had him (and still have him) on a ****tail of drugs and he was better that night. Hopefully tonight there will be less than 4 wake ups! Lily decided it was party time at 2am last night too for some reason and was tossing and turning and whispering under her breath to herself, so cute if it wasn't 2am!
We have had a busy day today. We went to the Australian Reptile Park. It was great fun!! Liam is soooo not scared of anything and was absolutely fascinated by the animals, no matter what they were or how big, lol! Lily was a bit scared of things, especially the big emu that was attacking people at the lunch tables and she got so worried when he came to us and Liam was chasing it around. Now when she tells people what we did today the first thing she says is 'Emu go way its Lilys chippies, dont eat it!' and she babbles on about the emu. So so cute. She is absolutely melting my heart these days with some of the things she says! Though she's really pushing boundaries too with some mega tanties and screaming when she doesn't get her way.
Lil is pretty much toilet trained now, though we had a day last week where she was peeing everywhere except the loo. She's yet to poo on the toilet though. She did one in her undies the other day and wa so worried about it. She kept on saying 'Lily pood in undies mummy!' Poor little thing. I don't know why she was so worried about it, I don't yell at her if she does it. It's all part of learning. But she went to preschool in undies last week and didn't wet herslef, and travelled home in undies too, without accidents. Though I am yet to go out with her in undies. Not that confident yet! She is also almost always dry after her day sleeps too, so I'm thinking we're on our way to being dry in the day sleeps too, yay!
Ok that's it from me for now. Sorry no personals. I will try to catch up tomorrow. I'm tired after a looong day! I hope all of your bubs get better. Mine included, lol! Sick kids suck!!!
Happy Sunday girlies :D
-
I envey you who can get their kids in undies! We still have an undie phobia here....but going to the toilet is no issue when naked!
Kel- hugs...hope everyone gets better.
Kaz...my cycle is up the poooper too! I still havent released that ever special egg! And i am on cd20.... Yes, am trying hard for a boy, we are doing shettles and have found a very intense gender swaying site so getting some tips from there...but a baby would be nice:)
Mel- hope you had a better night with the boys
Kris- hows Michael after the snip??? Am very curious because I dont want to be on the pill forever after baby making has finished, so if dh can grow some...you know whats, he can get the snip ( I believe that i have done all the hard work and shouldnt get my tubes tied!)
Us- liv has been pretty sick, shaking, high temps, projectile vomiting...its been fun! Today shes woke up much better and just has a runny nose. Am hoping shes on the mend. Will see tonight at dinner time, as this is usually when she projectiles...just when we are about to tuck into some grub!!
-
Hey All,
Kel- Wow poor little Liam sounds very sick, you poor mumma. Awful with DH being working at nights too must be doubly hard. Do you get any hassle from your work or are they ok when you need time off? Glad you got out and about at the reptile park, thats near us kind of so its on our list of things to do:D
Dis- Thanks for the ABA info, I will give them a shot too - I will try anything to make BF work! I had to take motillium after the cesar with B, so I am a bit paraniod about nothing working IYKWIM? Ben sounds very cute with his "wuv u's" - hope you have got some more sleep this weekend x
Mel- Oh gosh I hope Olivia is better, nothing worse than vomitting, is this all to do with the flu she caught from your friends? Poor thing - hope she is on the mend.
Kaz- Hi there x Yay Patrick on the potty!
Us- Ok weekend, busy with a kids party yesterday and today, beach, shopping and dog washing. Still feel really tired and have a sore throat AGAIN, Bubba is sitting really weird I think and have been so uncomfy for the last few days. Beau is good, loves having da da home and they had the best time at the beach this morning together:D
-
Hi!
Jen - Big hugs to you having a bad day at the play centre...Good for you booking your learners though!! You can do it!!!
I hope bfeeding goes well for you this time but try not to stress about it - it's more important to a have a relaxed mum than one that's doing her head in about bfing!! xo
I've definitely cut down on my computer time...it's my procrastination tool!! I just waste time on it most of the time!!
Sounds like you had a nice weekend!! How far along are you now??? Hope bubs moves for you to make you more comfy!!
Mel - Sorry to hear Olivia's been sick again....poor little munchkin. Wow, isn't that interesting that your mum put you and your sister on the bottle but your brothers had bmilk - I like your thinking that it's the girls and not you!!! LOL at Olivia being up...Michael heard Dylan at 11.30pm the other night going to the fridge for a yoghurt!! hehe.
Hopefully you can talk your dh into getting the snip - I agree I think we've been through enough! Luckily for me it wasn't even an issue - even before falling p/g this time Michael was happy to get it done - he def doesn't want more kids so was happy to do it. I'm grateful though as it will be great not having to worry about the pill after this bubs!!
Dis - Big hugs to you for not having much sleep - you poor thing - you must be sooo tired!! I hope things improve soon!
Kaz - Yeah at Pip starting to TT! That's great! Hope your cycle regulates soon and you catch the eggy!!
Kel - Sorry to hear Liam has been so sick...poor little thing -hope he's getting better! Hope you've had a bit more sleep you poor thing...Yeah at Lily doing so well with TT! The reptile parks sounds great!!
As for us...had my scan on Fri morning and all was good with bubs - very relieved!!! Had a look at the sex but the guy wouldn't confirm - couldn't see a doody though...will have to wait until 20w! I won't know what to do with a girl though - LOL! Michael and I still think it will be a boy!!
Michael also had his vasectomy - it went all good...he's still waddling around a bit but is ok...probably wasn't a great idea to follow up 4 days away with him having that done because I didn't get a break really until today...I had tears yesterday afternoon because I was so tired and just really hanging for a break - the boys weren't that bad or anything but I just needed time on my own...I ended up having a snooze for an hour which was great...and had a sleep in this morning cos I had a rotten headache...grrr. Panadol's taken the edge off though which is good...
Boys are well! We were having a few attitude problems with Louis but we changed tactics and he seems to have calmed down a bit...Dylans going well - talking so much now - the things he comes out with are a crack up...Ethan has got his 3rd tooth and I've been feeling it a bit when I'm feeding....he wouldn't want to chomp down or that will be the end of it! Although we'll be ready to wean soon anyway - I'm definitely looking forward to the break although it has been nice...he's such a gorgeous little boy...he comes up and gives me kisses and lots of cuddles...I can't believe he was such an unsettled bubba and now is so placid and sleeps so well - He's been sleeping through every night even when he was getting his tooth!! I haven't had a baby like that before and I'm appreciating it that's for sure!! LOL!
Dylan's been TT for a while now but regressed a couple of weeks ago and just started peeing everywhere again...now its hit and miss if he's got his undies and pants on unless I take him regularly but if he's got no pants on he's more inclined to climb up on the toilet...I think part of it was though that he doesn't want to use the potty so climbs up on the toilet and I think he's often just too busy to stop! LOL! He's good if we go out though...rarely has accidents then...it's mostly just when we're at home!
Ok...better go...seems to have taken ages to catch up - have been typing in the ads of rove! LOL!!!! Chat later!
-
Hi girls :)
Kris, oooh, I wonder if you do have a girl in your belly? One of my friends was the same... three boys and then girl. She said the exact same thing... "I don't know what to do with a girl!" It was funny coming from her since she was one of three girls!
Kel, poor little Liam! It's so scary when they're sick with their lungs. If he does get sick like that again (and not in the middle of the night) don't hesitate to take him to the hospital. They were so good with J when he was in there and they generally try and get the little ones in quickly through emergency - well at least at Camden they do. It's just so scary when you lie awake making sure they take the next breath :(
Mel, poor little Liv - sick babies everywhere! Is she doing better now? Sounds like she might be a bit of a nudist that one  Is Becca avoiding it all?
Jen, the beach sounds lovely. Ben's the same when his dad is home for a few days - absolutely loves it. I love watching my boys all together too. Have you tried getting down on your hands and knees to shift bub a bit? Both my boys were shocking with knees and elbows and I was in constant pain from about 22 weeks, hopefully your little one won't give you that much grief.
Kaz, good luck catching that eggy! Well done on Pip with his TT!
Us, it's been a mixed bag. J had another bad night on Saturday night but much better last night. He has also had some good naps today and is in fact still asleep after going down three hours ago. The best part of that is that Ben just woke up from a four hour nap as well so I got two whole hours of sleep!!!!! I woke up and it saw the time and kinda freaked out  At least the boys will have a happier mummy tonight.
We put Ben in undies on Saturday too. He actually really enjoyed it, but wet them. We thought he'd freak out but he just told us and then told us he wanted to wear another pair. I wasn't prepared at all for that since I only had the one pair of undies (given as a gift) so he went naked for a while before going back into a nappy. Tomorrow I'm off to buy some more Lightening (as in McQeen from Cars) undies. For some strange reason he doesn't want Thomas! DH and I couldn't believe it when he told us he didn't want his beloved Thomas on his undies. Anyway we'll try again with that once he has some more undies to wear.
Well, of course, I jinxed myself and after three hours, the child is starving. Clearly fading away to nothing!
-
Hey all, just thought I would get this back on the first page....
Mel- hope things settle for you. Glad you got some sleep though. I got a few nanna naps when liv was sick, it was great.
Kris- i hope that you get a girl, would be nice to finish off the family. Glad Michael is doing alright.
Jen hope you arent too uncomfy...
Us- liv is better. She was running around half nude today. Didnt have any toilet mishaps and I dont even have to ask her to go anymore. Bec has so far escaped sickness. The past few nights have been better with sleep.
Hi to Kel and Kaz...got to go to bed!
-
Hey All,
Not going anywhere today, I am in the midst of swapping over my wardrobe from winter to summer (its a tiny wardrobe so I have to) and there are clothes everywhere in the spare room (new bubbas room) and our cabin is a mess and my mum and her husband are coming on Friday, gotta get motivated and distract Beau!
Have had Beau with bad gastro since Sunday but he seems better today, he had McDonalds fires which usually upset him, but this is by far the worst,so no more for him!! He cries and says "No!" if I mention the toilet or the potty so congratulations to everyone in undies etc etc!!!
Dis - Good on you getting a serious nap in, you are lucky Ben has such long ones still! Wow 4hrs! Hope Jared continues to improve for you.
Mel- Glad Bec is better and your little nudist is doing so well on the toilet training.
Kris- How exciting things are going so well! I was the 4th bub and a girl after 3 boys and it was great! Such a princess! My mum says it took her and my dad about 2years to get used to the fact i was a girl - too funny!
Ok, the weather here is awful and windy off the water....could be a long one x
-
Hi ladies,
Mel, with the undies have you tried taking her to actually buy undies with you? Maybe that will work?? Lil's doing well with her training, though she regressed a bit last week. Maybe cause Li was sick and I didn't have time to remind her to go to the loo. She runs around naked most of the time too. I don't know how she doesn't freeze. I mean it hasn't been that cold here, but still complete nudity...it must be a bit chilly!
Glad to hear Liv is better and you're getting some sleep :) Liam is better here too though he's coughing like a seal, lol!
Jen, the reptile park was awesome, you have to go! We had the best day. Just make sure you take food, the stuff they have there is pretty dismal and soo $$$. I took some for the kids but brought for us and it was crappy. I had a meat pie, ugh. DH had a chicken foccacia and it was sooo exxy and just looked crap!
As for your bfing worries, I was so scared I'd end up with the same situation I had with Lily too (bfing, expressing, bottle feeding for 7mths- til I fell pg again!) I was stressed about it too. But here we are 13mths later and still going strong. Despite everyone telling me I should wean now. I love it he loves it, gorgeous! It can happen the second time around and be easier. But I think joining the ABA would be a great idea anyway. Any support is going to help, I'm sure.
Kris, glad your scan was all good. What a relief that must have been! And lets hope there no dody in the future! (Although any healthy beautiful baby is a blessing, I'm sure a girl would be nice! Just a little bit, hehehe!)
How's your DH now after his vasectomy? My DH wants to get one, though he's yet to seriously look into it. He hasn't called family planning or anything, even though I keep telling him that's what he has to do. Maybe that third baby will happen one day for us anyway, lol! Just due to his laziness!
Dis, yes, it wa sscary having him so sick. You know I can handle vomiting and gastro. Cause I know when they are too sick and have to go to hospital. But with breathing, I don't know how far to push it, kwim. I don't know how he's going, how he feels with his breathing and I don't know what is really serious. If DH had have been home, I would have taken him to hossy. But he's all good now!!
Hope J has been better for you with sleeping. I know how it feels
Us, well we have kindy photos today and have to be out the door early. Clearly I'm not too worried, lol! I've been pretty unmotivated lately. Though surprisingly the house is fairly tidy. Except for mount washington. That seems to never go anywhere. I fold it and pack it away and it generates itself again....I can't imagine the washing for a family bigger than mine!
Kids have slept really well the past two nights. Probably gonna jinx myslef now! But they have both only woken once and slept til at least 6.45am. That's a sleep in in my house, ahhhh, bliss. I would be a happy camper if they continued this forever! Maybe minus the wake ups, lol! But one each a night is doable :)
Ok gotta go and the monsters ready for school photos! Hope everyone is well.
-
Hi!!
A quick one from me...I really have to get organised...my house is a health hazard!! Seriously!! It's sooo feral and I can't spend another day looking at crap everywhere...
It's such a gorgeous day here though that hopefully the boys will play outside a lot. I'm so relieved that they have been...over winter they didn't want a bar of going outside but now that it's warm they are in and out. Must be like their mum and not like the cold weather!! LOL!
All good here though...feeling really flat...I wouldn't say I'm depressed or anything...just flat and not motivated...I feel like I just need to snap out of it - maybe now I'm nearly out of first tri it will happen!!
I don't think it's helping that both Louis and Dylan don't sleep through the day anymore...and even yesterday Ethan decided 1 x 1 1/2 h sleep was enough!!! Nooooooo!!! I suppose L & D dropped the second sleep about 11-12m...
Michael is going ok...he had to go back to the dr yesterday as one side has slightly infected...the dr said everything seems fine though (he's never had stitches or any sort of procedure so I think it's all new for him) and I suppose being where it is he doesn't want anything to go wrong - LOL!!!!! If you go on a waiting list through the hospital I think you can be waiting a looonnnnggg time - I know someone that's been waiting for well over a year...we went to a private clinic and just paid for it - we couldn't afford to take any chances this time - LOL!!!
Dis - Good luck on the TT! I find Dylan is more likely to wet his undies but if he hasn't got pants on then he runs to the toilet...little bugger - although Louis was the same...my boys basically spend summer pantless - LOL!!!
Mel - Yeah on Olivia doing well with the toilet!! Glad the girls are better!!
Jen - Sorry to hear Beau's been sick...poor little thing....hope he's better soon! Have fun swapping your wardrobe over...that sounds like such a great thing to do - I've never had enough clothes to bother!! LOL! and living in Melb half the time you need your winter clothes in summer and vice versa - LOL!!! Maybe one day when I'm rich and go shopping all the time!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kel - Poor Liam...it is scary when they get so sick...Louis got croup while Michael was away and I just didn't know what to do...he was really struggling to breathe so I ended up going to the hospital about midnight and he had prednisole...they kept him a few hours and then we went home. With Dylan when he had it I probably let him go a bit longer because it was through the day but by evening it got worse so took him and the kept us in overnight and half of then next day!!!!!! They have told me that it's much better to bring them in...it's so horrible though when they seem so sick!!
LOL on the washing...yep - I always have something...although I'm so excited about the warm weather we have here because it all gets done so much quicker!! I've been so over winter using our dryer and the bathroom with a heater in it to dry everything - our latest elec bill was $450!!! OMG!!!!!
That's so great the kids are sleeping much better - I hope they keep it up (and get even better!!)
Ok..so much for my quick one...chat later!!
-
Quick one from me too...Girls have taken a turn for the worst...or yuckiest! Last night at 2am bec woke up screaming and dh found she had chucked all in her bed. Then she did a runny poo and while I was changing that a fountin of poo sprayed out. Liv had runny poo this morning. bec farts and its runny and shes chucked too and is grumpy.
AAAHHHHHHGGGGG
-
Mel, sounds like an awful day for you guys. Hope the girls improve for you soon. You and your DH will probably end up with it unfortunately, I'll keep my fingers crossed that you don't!
-
Mel - I hope the girls have improved over the day and aren't getting worse...I hope you stay well also!!
Well, didn't get all the cleaning done but did head out to the shops!! I haven't been shopping in so long - no wonder I"m feeling down! LOL!!!
Laybyed some toys for the kids...not heaps but a few fun things and browsed around. Saw the most gorgeous slip in bras n things and even though I wont fit into it for very long I think I'll buy it...I'm so over not spending money - it just doesn't suit me!!
I'm off to esprit tomorrow - I've got a card now from my latest splurge and they've got 30% off and they have the most gorgeous tye dye top at the moment...mum owes me a bit of b'day money as well so it's not going to cost much at all - It also looks like I'll be able to wear the top through the p/g which is handy as well!!
Good news is we've reached our medicare threshold so got heaps more back for Michaels vasectomy and nearly all of the money for my scan back!! Yeah!
I'm taking the boys to the Melb show on Friday - I'm soooo excited! My friend Beans coming with me to give me a hand - I'm so excited (and so are the kids!) We all can't wait for the ferris wheel - LOL!!
Well better go and get the washing in before I start cooking dinner - tough one tonight - I bought a big frozen 1kg spinach canneloni thing...LOL! Thought I'd give it a try instead of takeaway - lots cheaper as well!!
Ok...jabbering on about boring stuff...Michael is having a snooze so yet again I have no-one to talk too...LOL!
Chat later!
-
Hey all I have survived today! It wasnt too bad, bec only had one more runny nappy this afternoon and liv hasnt had any more. Its hard coz I am not too sure if i should be giving bec her formula as i have been. We will see I suppose. I managed to get the house very clean and all the washing on and off the line and put away! My main motivation to clean today was when I was up with bec in the wee hours this morning, i heard the mouse...then I saw it!!! We set a trap but didnt get it. They are feild mice, which the dog is digging up their little nest in the yard.
Anyway hope you are all well, thinking of having an early night
