Hello! Sorry I've been MIA for a while, been a bit busy!
Alison - oh that funeral sounded so sad. You did well to go. I think I definitely would have wanted one little hold of my angel, I feel sad for Willow that she never got held by her parents (eyes are watering again!). Maybe just go back to how it was before? She might just drop that feed on her own later on.
BS - Oh I'm sooo happy for you that Eva seems more content, you must feel like a different woman! And I'm glad you're feeling better about FF :) Michael hasn't been pushing his bum in the air really, but he's getting much better at tummy time than he used to be, so hopefully it won't be too far away!
Rose - Oh poor little Liam, how is he today? How do you think he got his cold? Thats great he's down to one feed during the night! Are you sleeping much better now?
Tilda - I hope Matilda has settled down a bit and is less growly for you. I sometimes drive myself bonkers trying to troubleshoot and work out WHY something has happened and what we could have done differently, etc. DH just tells me not to worry about it and go with the flow...but its hard! I'm a worrier by nature unfortunately! I think you should be ok with the sleeping bags with long sleeves during the colder weather...not sure what temperature her room is. But for the warmer nights sleeveless are usually better as baby can regulate her body temperature through her arms.
Carmey - wow, solids! I hadn't even started to think of that yet. Not sure if MIchael is ready or not, strange but he never really sees us eat so I don't know if he's taking an interest. Hmm. We have our Mothers Group information session on introducing solids next month, so I"ll see what the CHN says. Have your heard how the operation went? Sounds like they have a very good doctor there :) Yeah, I've noticed lately that Michael wants to sit up more...tries to pull himself up in his carseat, or when we put him reclined in his bath. He can sit for a few seconds unaided, leaning on his hands, but he slowly slides sideways - he's getting there tho!
Suz - has Ryan settled down any? Gosh, that must be hard work feeding him every 30 mins, esp with a toddler running around! Oooh, extending too? Exciting!
Lani - ooh, your hair sounds nice! Poor little Jett with his cold, is he feeling any better? I hope you enjoy your family reunion, that'll be cool! :D
Hello everyone else!
AFM - had our photo's done yesterday, Michael was a little champ! He was so smiley! He got a bit cranky halfway through (feeding is still a nightmare!), but after that he was good to go again. She got some real good shots, cant' wait to see the rest of them! 2 weeks to wait!
Michael seems a lot better lately (touch wood). He hasn't had any mor eof those crying fits, and seems to be getting to sleep during the day back like he used to. Tho his feeds are still v hard. He starts with 240ml, then usually stops at 100ml and thats it. But we've found that if we walk around with him while feeding him, he'll take the rest. So I dunno if he's just getting bored. He's still on the 2 hole teats, really he should be on the 3 hole, but I've tried him with them twice, and because he's a guzzler it comes out too fast for him and he ends up with it all over his face and v cranky!
Feeling a bit down about my bday :( My darling sis (I love her so much) organised a high tea for me and a few others to go to, but SIL can't go cos she has a wedding, MIL wont' go cos SIL isn't going (??), my dad's girlfriend had said yes, but has now pulled out saying "its not her thing" (not sure what thats all about)...so that leaves me, my sis and my bf. Just feel a bit sad that I don't have more friends :( Great 30th birthday...3 people including myself, woo hoo.
Anyhoo, my dad has "surprised" (I kind of already knew!) me with a lovely dinner at a v posh restaurant for me & DH to go to this Sat night. Him and his g/f will come and look after Michael, tho hopefully we shoudl have him bathed & fed & in bed by then.
Okies, better go. My sis is coming over shortly (she's between jobs atm - just accepted a position at the AMA! Woo hooo!!!), nice to spend some time with her. Plus Michael adores her...he just stares at her all the time!
-
Hi Beany - yeah we'll go back to our usual and wait a bit longer, I'm like you and need structure so hate it when the routine goes out of whack! lol. Amelia has been a little fussy with her bottles lately too, she seems to play a lot with it and it can take ages to finish - she is on the 2 hole teats too for the exact same reason as Michael. Maybe it's an age thing being fussy with the bottle at the moment? Frustrating though isn't it!
Sorry about your BDay, stuff the others, go and enjoy it with your sis and BF, the important ones will be there, that's the way I look at it - true friends etc make the effort regardless of who they don't like and if it's their thing or not. Have a fab time when you go and enjoy your fancy dinner tomorrow night, where are you off to?
We have my friend's little boys 1st birthday party on Sunday, looking forward to that lol - she eats a gluten free diet so finally I can go somewhere and eat the party food - mind you, given I'm still carrying so much weight and still can't get my rings on perhaps I shouldn't lol. Can you get your rings on yet? I googled this morning and it's possibly due to my pregnancy carpal tunnel and having IV fluids etc....did you have carpal tunnel as well?
Love your pic on FB from Michael's photoshoot, can't wait to see the rest. We have Amelia's this arvo, she's due a feed right before so hopefully she's in a good mood...you watch, she'll probably be asleep the whole time and we won't get any awake shots...oh well, better than chucking a tanty I guess! ;)
-
In my slowness I missed the last 2 posts!
Tilda - yeah, Michael goes crazy chewing on his hands. The photographer said she wouldnt' be surprised if he cuts a tooth soon. Noooo! I'm scared of teething! Plus he's started doing this thing where he sort of 'bites' down on his bottom lip, he looks like a little old man with no teeth! I don't like it when he pulls that face cos generally it means he's getting cranky! DH thinks its cute tho! Hmm...that Tizzie Hall book sounds good. What is it called, if you don't mind me asking?
Alison - Thats fantastic that Amelia is rolling! Little munchkin! You'll have to try and get a video of it! Michael tries to hold the bottle too, its v cute, he's usually way off tho, but he's trying!
AFM - another thing I forgot to mention. This is something that has annoyed me from the beginning, but I think its something that just happens and I need to get over it. But I feel I need to have a whinge...
I can't stand it when people talk to me through Michael, or they make comments about me to Michael. For eg: "what is your mummy doing to you?!" and "I think you've had enough now mummy" and "you should be sitting up properly, shouldn't you?!" when I'm feeding him, things like that. Like, they are basically criticising what I am doing, but saying it in a baby-talk-smiley way to Michael. I feel like slapping them!
There, vent over!
-
Alison - we're going to The Gala in Ardross. Been before and its just divine!Well, I can't really get my rings on...but I stuffed them on yesterday cos I wanted them in the pictures...they hurt! So yeah, still can't wear them really. Yes, I had Carpel Tunnel too, tho only in my right hand. Oooh, thats right! Have fun at your photo's!!! :D
-
Alison, yay for the rolling! It is crazy how once they start having their heads up everything follows so fast! :) Just a quick reply to you - who cares what people say? Do what works for her. 10 hours is fabulous so take it. She will naturally change her sleep patterns when sheis ready to drop a feed or as for more at the other feeds, so do what you feel. I had Eva sleeping through even while breastfed and her last feed was always around 830/9, same with formula - I think it is just a schedule her body is on so I try to follow her cues.
Anyway Amelia is adorable so as long as she's happy :) I got a big foam floor mat for Eva when she started rolling since her playmat was not big enough so just keep an eye on Amelia now, because if you thought she got her feet stuck in the bed before, wait until now! I fin Eva in the strangest position when I leave her alone to play in her bed or playpen!
Beany, Once he starts doing more tummy time the rest will come fast, although he is already trying to sit, so that's great - I really think every baby does things at their own pace. Eva also holds the bottle which is funny since she has only been taking it for a week! She holds the nipple in her mouth and when she wants me to put it back grabs it back into her mouth...Whatever Eva wants...we hear about it!
Michael's photos ar eGORGEOUS!!!
Don't get down about your bday - the more intimate affairs are usually the nicest so who needs a whole group?! Enjoy your posh dinner with DH...That is going to be a gorgeous night with babysitters and quality time fo ryou and hubby ;)
To everyone else, hello!!!
Off to work, work out, and generally do some running around!
xoxo
-
Alison - No, I'm still BFing. I agree with BS, just do what works for her and you. Trust me, you're so lucky to get so many long stretches at night. Jack is still up three times a night for a feed. I had a few weeks of him sleeping through and then it was all over red rover. Sigh.
Oh, and yay for Amelia rolling! Isn't it a crack up when you watch their little faces - they seem so proud of themselves. So exciting.
How did your photoshoot go?
Beany - OMG, Michael's pics are sooo cute! You must be so pleased.
And, I am so with you on people speaking to you through the baby! I get that a lot and it's so bloody frustrating! I had one woman at the store where we bought his car seat and when I said that he was quite big for his age she was like "Well I'm allowed to grow mum".
Rose - I hope Liam's feeling better tonight. No fun having a sick bubba.
Everyone else - hope you're enjoying your Friday night!
ATM - Thank you for all your kind words re: my cousin and her bubby. You'll be pleased to hear both ops went really well and Charlie (that's the bub) is doing super well. His cretan (no idea what that is!) levels have improved heaps and apparently that means that he is responding well to the new kidney. My cousin gets to see him tomorrow, which will be great cause it's been so hard for her to be so far away (in another ward). We are all going to visit tomorrow too.
It sounds like so many of us have grizzly/upset bubs at the moment. I just wonder if it's a growth thing. Jack hasn't been himself for three days and has been a nightmare to try and get to sleep during the day and night.
On another note, I had a very embarrassing moment today. I was wearing this dress that is quite low-cut (I only wear it around home) and I get this knock at the door. It was two tradies who said they were doing an inspection on all the fire systems in our apartment block. So I let them in. Little did I know that I was standing there with my nipple out. Talk about wardobe malfunction! I almost died when I realised. :o
Hope you all have a great night. xx
-
Hi girls!
Carmey - omg you flasher :) I know someone else who did that too! So glad that the operation went well. Creatinine is a breakdown product of muscle metabolism and is filtered out of the blood by the kidneys - if your kidneys aren't working, your blood levels are high. And that's the most I've put my decade at uni to use in the last few years ;)
Alison - I agree, just go along with the routine that Amelia has decided on, and bugger what anyone else is doing or says. Only you and Amelia know what's best for her ultimately. And go Amelia with the rolling! Can't wait to see her photos!
beany - the photos of Michael on FB are *gorgeous*. I hear you on the friends thing, too - I find it pretty difficult to make friends, since I'm generally quiet and shy. Most of my friends these days are really DH's friends. But I happen to think that you're pretty darn shiny, if that helps at all :) I hope you enjoy your dinner on Saturday, too! And I agree with you about people hiding criticism in the babytalk, too - it's aggravating. And if you're interested in Tizzie Hall's book (Save Our Sleep), I have a copy that you're welcome to look through or borrow.
Tilda - I have a feeling that Liam is beginning teething, too - he chomps on everything like crazy and is a drool monster. Urgh, not looking forward to teeth!
AFM - Liam is much better today, though still somewhat cranky and in need of comfort. Again, he refused to lay down for his naps, so I've had a baby velcroed to me all day (apart from a short period where Mum came over and took him so I could get some stuff done, and when I had a shower this morning - which was accompanied by much grizzling). He's down in his cot for the night now (though he's woken a few times crying, but has settled down with his dummy) - I'm not going to worry overmuch so long as he'll sleep in his cot at night, and just work on getting him in his cot for at least one nap a day. He's back in a routine of not napping much right now, too, which doesn't help the grizzliness. But his cold is definitely improving - I reckon he'll be right in a couple of days.
I've been wondering the last little while if I should try to introduce a dreamfeed. His last feed of the night is usually arpound 7.30-8pmish, and then his next feed is anywhere between 1-3am (usually, though it varies). I tend to go to bed anywhere between 10pm and 11pm, and it would be theoretically easy to feed him before I go to sleep. I'm kind of paranoid about waking him up, though. I guess I shouldn't mess with what works for us, but gosh, it would be nice to sleep through for six hours or so.
DH and I are off to the movies again tomorrow - this time to see Avatar (DH has already seen it, but I haven't). I feel bad leaving Liam again for a few hours, but after being with him every waking hour all week, I really need a break.
-
Hi Beany - the Tizzie Hall book is called Save Our Sleep. It hasn't really worked for me because Matilda doesn't really want to settle into a routine and I haven't wanted to try self-settling yet. But if you're wanting to try out a more structured routine it might be worth a look. And don't let other people's unreliability get to you and stop you enjoying your BD high tea. I know how you feel though. I don't have a wealth of friends in Hobart and no one that I would really call a close friend.
Rose - I understand your dilemma about the dream feed. I often wonder too. Because if Matilda has her last feed around 7:30/eight she will often wake at about 1am and then again at 5am if I'm unlucky. But its hard to bring yourself to wake them!! A few nights ago she went down a lot earlier at 7pm and I accidentally woke her at 10pm so fed her. And she only woke once. So I think when I can get her bed time down to 7pm on a more consistent basis I'll throw a dream feed in. Enjoy Avatar! We went when my parents were staying and loved it.
Carmey - bet you made the tradies' day LOL!!! Don't worry I did that in a car park a couple of weeks ago after I'd been feeding Matilda in the car. I was leaning over doing up her stroller buckle and realised my boob was hanging out as people were walking past  Fantastic news about your cousin her little boy!!
Hi Alison - Wow for Amelia rolling!! I can't wait until Matilda starts. And sounds like you're doing the right thing by Amelia by just following her cues. You'll know when she's ready to drop the dream feed. I can't wait to see your pictures!!!
Hi BS and everyone one else.
Well I just want to issue a vent alert. I'm feeling a bit miffed with DH at the moment. He was away until Wednesday night and then was working from home the last couple of days. So I've tried not to bother him too much. But we finally get to Saturday and he's gone off to Aikido for 3 hours after which he's coming home to work on a job application and then off to Sydney for 4 days again at 10am tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'm feeling a bit neglected and left holding the baby or whether I'm just envious he can just galavant about. It just would have been nice to spend one day of the week together as a family. Am I being unreasonable? I'm not sure what's normal having had him around so much until the last month or so. And I feel guilty trying to stop him doing things he enjoys.
Sounds like we've all got some fussy little babies on our hands with teething, colds and what not. Hope they all cheer up for their lovely mums this weekend.
Oh and had a major case of baby brain yesterday. I needed to duck down to the super market and couldn't find my keys, so DH lent me his and guess what I found in the ignition when I went to get in the car - my keys. Woops. The car wasn't even locked. I suspect I'd rushed to get out of the car the day before because Matilda was probably screaming. I'm glad I was the next one to get in the car and not DH ;)
-
Hi Girls!
Hi Carmey - lol you poor thing, the tradies certainly got themselves a cheap thrill for the day!!
Hi BS - the latest pics of Eva are so gorgeous, she's so beautiful. :)
Hi Beany - I hear you on the talking through the babies thing, it can get annoying, especially if it's negative stuff, just ignore it, I do! Can't wait to see your pics of Michael. :D How much did you pay do you mind me asking? I love his style, it's very Anne Geddes, perhaps I should've gone with them. I went with GFP Babies because they offered me a discount as they did her hospital photos - we got $200 off! Lucky you for getting your rings on for the pics, I put mine on in the shower (safest place with the water) and as soon as I do my finger puffs up, if I leave them on I'll never get them off. My carpal tunnel was mostly in my right hand too but it can affect your whole body with regards to retaining fluid apparently. I'm over it, I haven't worn my wedding rings in 6 months now....and oddly I can wear my right hand ring - how can one finger be affected and another not, ridiculous!
Hi Tilda - I understand how you feel, my DH has been working weekends again lately and I'm sick of it! He's gone again this morning.......I like to do the food shopping with him as it's easier. MIL rang to ask if she wanted me to watch Amelia while I did the shopping and I declined. I am trying to prove a point.....there's plenty of people who can watch Amelia but it would be nice if he could take some time out of his busy schedule to do it together!!!!! Grrrrr.
Hi Rose - guess what, (now that I've just bagged him out), DH bought me a new camera yesterday!!!!! You were telling me about the Canon....well he ended up getting me the Canon Powershot something or other - the one you were talking about if I had the right one didn't do movies, this one does. It looks fabbo - very much like an SLR but apparently not as complicated which is great for me lol. You'll have to give me lessons when I get it - he ordered it online from Sydney yesterday, woop woop - he really is very generous with his presents so I shouldn't bag him out too much should I!
AFM - Photo shoot went well yesterday afternoon, got some lovely pics. These people do a fab job, you get to keep the disc with all the photos they take on them and do what you want with them which is fantastic. We just had to buy a package to do that, spent $500 on a framed pic (woops) but we get 4 pics in the frame so it's going to look great. Amelia got a little cranky at the end as she was due a sleep but we got some lovely pics. We ended up keeping them simple, we didn't use any props or bows in hair or anything, DH wasn't keen on doing her up so to speak and I'm glad now as she looks just like a baby in them although they did have a cute little hat box that was very tempting....we'll get more done when she's around 8 months old (that's when they contact you next) so I'll do those then as she'll be well and truly sitting up properly by then. My sister and I are going to do one of her sitting in a pot plant when she's sitting up unaided (very soon!).....she did one of her two little ones when they were babies and it's so cute. But, the fact she had a little tutu skirt on for some of yesterday's pics was enough I thought.....she just had that and no top on, was really sweet. I also realised when sitting up with no top on she has bigger boobs than me lol! I just had her in her little strawberries outfit for the others. I on the other hand realised how ugly I am these days lol....my nose is so pointy like my mums and I was so concerned about the old double chin showing. We really didn't want any dorky posey shots so we tried to keep them relaxed...I'm not the most photogenic person!!!! I love yours Beany, should've asked for some like that but I felt a little rushed to get Amelia before she got cranky, it was late in the day - next time I'll go in the morning I think!
Oh and we reverted back to the 5 feeds routine yesterday/last night and she slept 10 hours again without waking up! I did hear her stirring at some point, she makes these little talking/pre-crying whingey noises but I just let her go and she settled back to sleep. Yay, thank goodness for that, I did not enjoy the 2 nights before that and just glad to get back on track. We'll try again when she starts solids, no rush huh! DH also bought me a new camera yesterday, online so it's not here yet - it's a Canon Powershot, it's like an SLR, soooo can't wait to get it and take some decent pics. I hate the camera we have at the moment, it's so slow so by the time it takes the pic the moment is gone! Like Amelia rolling yesterday, it's just too slow!
Geez I crap on!
-
Morning everyone (just!),
BS - he actually rolled from his back to his side unaided for the first time this morning! I know that sounds pretty basic, but its something he's never done. He kept doing it once he realised he could do it by himself. I know, I shoudl stop worrying about it, I'm having it with my favourite ppl and thats all that matters. Thanks for the compliment re the photo's...we're very happy with what we have seen so far! I dunno how I'm going to wait 2 more weeks to see the rest!!!
Carmey - yeah, I'm blaming it all on a wonder week. Michael has been very odd the past couple of weeks really. Oh thats so funny about flashing those tradies!! Thats fantastic the ops went well...how long till they know if its been successful?
Rose - So glad Liam is feeling a bit better, poor little mite! So, was his first cold as bad as you thought it would be? (I'm dreading Michael's). Ooh, yes please, I might have a squizzy through that book at our next meeting, if thats ok? Now you mention the title I'm pretty sure I've heard of it and it seems quite popular. Aww, thanks for the compliment :) I'm in the same boat too...painfully shy ever since we moved here (when I was 9) - mainly cos kids would make fun of my accent, so I just didn't talk to anyone! I'm getting better, but it still affects me making friends. I remember I tried doing a dreamfeed once...but I didn't quite understand the idea that they're meant to be asleep during it! So it didn't work!
Tilda - Well, I don't think you're being unreasonable at all. Especially since your DH goes away a lot atm, it would be nice for him to spend some time with you both, and even to give yourself a break for a bit. Gosh, you were lucky your car didn't get stolen!
Alison - Ooh, can't wait to see your photo's! I bet Amelia looked a real cutie in her little tutu! We paid $425, which includes a 2 hour photoshoot (which actually went for 2.5 hours) and 20-30 of the best shots on USB for us to print at our leisure. I did a fair bit of research into photographers because I found a lot of them wouldn't give you the original images, or would want you to spend a minimum amount on prints (which they charge a fortune for!) to get them (and even then you'd have to pay extra to get them!). This photographer is self taught and still sort of building up her business, so perhaps thats why she was a bit cheaper than the others. Glad you're back into your routine! Just stick with whatever works, I reckon!
AFM - having really bad day today :( He's been mega cranky, and crying A LOT, which is so unlike him. Pretty sure its to do with the wodner week as he has just started rolling from back to side. His cries sound different, and hes very difficult to put down. Hmm...our posh dinner might not be going ahead after all, we'll just have to see how this afternoon goes.
Hope everyone is enjoying their saturday! :)
-
Hi Beany - OMG I should've spoken to you and gone with yours that's so awesome and I think your pics will be better than mine, darn it! Might have to use her next time, what a fantastic price and if she's self taught she's a natural if you ask me, her shots are beautiful! I'm spewing I didn't go with her!!!! lol As for Michael rolling, watch out, in a few days he'll be rolling over onto his tummy. Amelia starting rolling from back to side on Tuesday and yesterday she rolled right over!!!!! Our two bubs are pretty much doing the same things at the same time aren't they, so cute. I thought Amelia was behind as well but the girls at mums group Thurs said their bubs aren't even doing the "attempt" yet and most of them are a week or more older!
I'm sorry he's cranky today, Amelia's fine so far but we're going out to my sister in laws for dinner - down your way actually (Canning Vale, is that close to you?) so I hope she stays this way. She has been sleeping a bit more so I definitely think the dreaded Wonder Week 19 is well and truly on it's way! :o I really hope you can still go to your fancy din dins. xx
-
Hi girls!
I think Liam's in his own universe when it comes to rolling - he's been rolling from back to side for a few weeks, but shows no sign of any more. One of our friends told us that some kids actually skip rolling over completely, though.
beany - I hope you still get to go out to dinner! Clingy bubbas are really, really hard :(
Alison - Yay for the new camera!! It's definitely worth having a good camera with a bub. And Canons are super easy to use (unless you want to use a DSLR on manual, which I avoid, because it's too darn hard!)
Tilda - You're definitely not being unreasonable. I've been going through some of the same stuff with my DH actually - he's been going out and stuff (and spending time playing games and stuff) and it's annoying, because I feel like I don't get any time to myself. He has time every evening after I go to bed, but pretty much all of my time is spent with Liam. Which I don't resent per se, but I'd love to have some me time again.
AFM - Liam's cold is doing better. He's still stuffed up and not sleeping great, but he seems happier. Except now I'm getting it - have a horrid sore throat right now. Bleh. I'm hoping that it will be mild, since I don't know how I'm going to cope with looking after Liam while sick.
DH and I did manage to get out today to go and see Avatar (which was kind of awesome in 3D). I found it a bit hard to concentrate, though, since I kept on thinking of Liam and feeling guilty that we'd gone out two weekends in a row. My mother looked after Liam, though, and he was fairly well behaved (and took a bottle). He's been a bit velcro again since we got home, which I don't have a high tolerance for while I'm sick.
I'm realising as well at the moment that my postnatal depression is still a huge problem. Need to talk to my doctor again, I think, and figure out what to do.
-
Alison - It sounds as though Amelia is like her mum...she loves her routine and just didn't know what was going on when you tried dropping that feed. I'm learning to not listen to other people too (see below). If a dream feed is working for you then there's no reason to change it. I'm glad Amelia settled back down for once you resumed her dream feed. Gradually bringing forward by 15 or 30 minutes every couple of days might be the way to go when/if you want her to drop it. How did she enjoy her first birthday party?
Tilda - The no cry sleep solution might be worth a look for you if you don't think you could handle controlled crying. It has a section on gradually (may take a few weeks) dropping the feeding to sleep association but doesn't make you feel guilty if your baby will only go to sleep this way. Before getting into solutions, the first thing the book asks is if you want the change or if other people think you should be doing things differently. The author didn't make me feel guilty for any of my choices and I'm more relaxed about Amelia's sleep habits after reading it.
I'd be feeling both neglected and envious too if I was in your situation. I do get resentful of DH that he can just come and go as he pleases. I guess it'll take a while for you both to adjust to his new working conditions. Still, I don't think one day spent as a family in a week is asking too much.
Carmey - Good luck with trying solids with Jack this week. I'm also waiting until 6 months to introduce them to Amelia. The other day someone told me that if pumpkin gets on their clothes to wash it out straight away otherwise it will stain. Just FYI. Let us know how it goes. I'm glad your cousin and her baby's ops went well.
Lani - At least Jett doesn't seem too bothered by his cold. I hope you had a great time at the family reunion.
suz - I hope Ryan settles down again soon. Good to hear DH is well and truly on the mend and that Craig's toilet training is going well. Ooh extending. How exciting!
BS - That's great that Eva is doing so well on the formula. You need to look after yourself too so I hope your PCOS comes under control soon. Amelia loves to hear herself shriek as well. But it can indicate happiness or pain, so I'm always rushing to check on her to make sure its a happy shriek. She's also stays on her belly for a really long time, pushing up with her hands. She's been doing that for a few weeks now and has been enjoying tummy time so much more for it. Last night she sat by herself for the first time, with her hands on the floor in front of her. This age is so cool. It seems everyday she develops a new skill.
Rose - I hope Liam is getting over his cold. If he hates the taste of panadol, dimedon (sp?) is supposed to taste much better. My mum used to work in a pharmacy and she would taste samples. Apparently baby panadol is pretty bad.
beany - Can't wait to see some photos on FB. I hope you enjoyed the high tea nonetheless. I don't have many friends either....but those I do have are very important to me. A posh dinner sounds fantastic. I hope you got to enjoy it.
AFM - I'm going to stop listening to other people. The paediatrician I took Amelia to a couple of weeks ago told me she should only be having 5 feeds a day (instead of 6 or 7) and that she shouldn't have anything after around 11-12 at night. But how do you deny a baby a feed when she brings so much back up? Even though I don't really have a problem with her sleeping from 3-11am, it got into my head that I had to get her into a better routine. It was a disaster and she started staying awake all night. She would be tired but she was fighting sleep so there was a LOT of crying by both of us. I was trying to do all the right things to get her to realise the difference between night and day...keeping things quiet at night etc. Then it occured to me that she sleeps really well during the day with the TV or radio on. Maybe it was too quiet at night. So, Friday night I had lullaby music playing on a loop all night. Amelia slept from 8pm Friday night until 11am Saturday morning. She woke a few times for feeds and a few more just to make sure I was there I think. But she went right back to sleep. Saturday night she woke at 11:30pm and 2am for feeds and started her day at 8. I don't know myself.
Although tonight something is going on as she is currently in her swing. She slept from 8:30 until 11. Fed, then woke at 12:30 wanting another feed and hasn't gone back down yet. DH has a cold and I've had a sore throat starting today, so I hope she isn't getting sick too. Especially since I want to get her shots on Tuesday. But she has been so much happier this weekend. She wasn't miserable before but she wasn't well rested either.
We've got her a Jolly Jumper and put her in it for the first time today. She loves it! She didn't bounce much, but loved just being able to turn around and check out her surroundings at her leisure. So cute! It wore her out though. After an hour in it, she fed and then napped for 3 hours this afternoon.
She's not yet rolling much. She will roll from her side to her back though, and occasionally from her belly to her back. But she doesn't roll if on her back yet. If I put her down on her back, she's too busy trying to sit up to bother rolling. She's developing a nice little six pack from all the sit ups she does.
OK. Better be off and try to get this girl into bed
:grouphug:

Hi Rose - how are you feeling today? Better I hope, Beany and I will catch you after Easter when you're feeling better no problems! I'm going down to our holiday house for Easter on Friday so in a way it's probably best for me as I need to do a few things before leaving.
Hi Hannah - don't worry about the paed telling you about feeding thing, every baby is different, the girls in my mums group are still feeding the same amount as you......I think if they're fully formula fed it's a different story as you know how much they're getting and any more than 5 means they're probably having too much but with BF it's different. And my Amelia sleeps with music too, I've always played music from when I bought her home, she can sleep without it but I was told it's nice and soothing for them so I've always done it. I've got quite a few baby soothing cds, I got mine from Target, she even has a Beethoven one which my pregnancy aqua teacher copied for me, apparently they like all that stuff the bubs. Glad it works for you, it does for me too! I don't put ours on a loop but if I go in through the night for the dummy I pop it back on. :D Don't worry about the rolling thing either, Amelia was getting stuck on her side for a few days and then suddenly she rolled onto her tummy, I helped her a couple of times and then she did it on her own so you could try that. I can't stop her now and she ends up on her tummy and then gets annoyed cause she can't roll back lol! The jolly jumper is a must, Amelia loves her and it helps her have a better sleep in the day, yippee!
AFM - well we had a pretty unsettled night too although it was a full moon so can I blame that? lol I got up to Amelia 4 times last night from midnight on....it's weird because she's not awake ie her eyes are closed but she kind of cries, what is it with that any ideas? She sleeps with her onesie with arms and closed in feet and then her Grobag, I'm particular with the temperature so don't think she's cold or hot....I'm too scared to use blankets in case of SIDS - what's the norm with sleeping anyway as I really am just guessing! I thought the Grobag was so you didn't need the blanket? I put one on her in her day sleeps as I don't bother putting the bag on but too scared at night for a long sleep. Is that being ridiculous? I've also noticed her little "I'm tired but am fighting sleep" tanty's are getting worse lol. Normally she cries a little for a few minutes before going to sleep but now she flails her arms around knocking whatever is in her path - which is usually me as I'm holding her.....I hope this doesn't mean she's going to end up a big tanty thrower when she's older . Does anyone else's bubs crack the poops before sleeping? She can go from happy and smiling to that in a split second and crack it for a couple of minutes and then suddenly she's asleep, just like that! Is that normal?
-
Hi Alison. You shouldn't need blankets with the grobag. Just make sure Amelia is dressed warmly enough underneath, which it sounds like she is. Overheating is a risk factor for SIDS so its better to not use the blankets as well as the grobag.
Amelia's getting worse at fighting sleep too. She'll flail her arms around, thrash her head usually connecting with my jaw or cheek and pull my hair (she reaches around and grabs the fine ones at the top of my neck - ouch!). I'm attributing it to the wonder week. Moodiness is a symptom and there must be so much going on in their little brains right now that its hard for them to relax. Sometimes Amelia doesn't know whether she wants to laugh or cry and kind of winds up doing both. That makes me laugh and if I laugh, she'll laugh too.
-
Hi Hannah - thanks so much, that's what I thought re the Grobags. And I so feel normal, sounds like our girls have identical traits at the moment, you just described my Amelia to a T!!!! She has red cheeks today too and is putting everything in her mouth, I think sore gums can be added to the list, great, teething and wonder week 19 coming up, this is going to be fun - NOT!!!! :o xx

Yay! I finally have time to sit down and write on belly belly and it is down! I am sorry I have not been around here more often lately, it seams like I have no spare time at all and when I do, I try to go out and make myself myself again!...funny thing is though, I do read all the posts on the email that comes in at midnight-at around 3am when I am up feeding Sienna and Andrew is off to work, it's really nice to catch up and to hear what you have all been up too... I kind of feel a little jealous of the time you seam to have to write, oh I wish I had you girls to talk to more often, sometimes it is so hard and I find myself really struggling... this having two business is really lovely it's just a matter of being able to prioritise and give to everyone and myself...
I feel I could write so much and talk so much it's almost unfair! I so would love to chat with you ladies more often but I can't... each night when I read a post I would love to get on and respond or to chat...ahhhhh!
Sienna rolled from her tummy to her back on Sunday... Missed it with the camera though and she has not done it again since. :(
One thing I really wanted to say was to Hannah.... I went through SOOOOO much grief with peoples opinions when Lila was a baby.. she would feed sometimes almost every two hours and always up at night..A LOT!!!, & that stupid question people ask "how often is she feeding" and when you tell them, they always have an opinion!!!!!!! the whole time seams like such a blur now with DD1- Lila, yet I still remember the angst, But please do not ever forget that there is no rule book that our babies need to clock in for, no right or wrong... If they are still putting on weight and smiling even just occasionally then you are doing the best job in the world... Lila used to throw up sooooo much after every feed and be a shocker at night, but now she is such a beautiful two year old (and very cheeky too!) We used to have a lot of 'white noise' in her room to help her to sleep as well in the early days...
Alison Sienna is flapping her arms around a lot too when I try to get her to sleep.... I still sometimes wrap her in her grobag then her 'miracle blanket' if she is having a rough time or is really over tired...
How many sleeps is everyone's babies getting during the day? sometimes Sienna is only having 2 ... a short one around 9am then a long one at midday and almost nothing in the arvo... she also really like changing from side to side on the boobie... when she stops I tend to burp her then swap if she gets disinterested and she drinks for another 5 - 10 mins from the other side...sometimes she goes back and forth... I guess she does not like being in the same spot for too long!
I went for a walk yesterday and today... hoping to get those happy endorphins going.. 8kms in an hour up hills and through the bush each time and bloody hard work but it feels so good.
Nice to be here.
I Hope you all are happy and well.
Lots Of Love
Kath (Kanda)

Hi everyone, its been a bit quite on here lately. I'm guessing everyone is being kept busy by their little ones (me included).
Hannah - don't worry about the comments about the feeding. Matilda is constantly on and off the boob. I've given up worrying about it recently. It seems to be just the way she likes things. I don't think her tummy feels comfortable if its too full. That's great what you worked out with the white noise. Isn't it amazing when you have those ah ha moments.
Kanda - how fab to hear from you. It must be sooooooo busy with two I'm surprised you keep up with the posts at all. And don't worry if you can't write much - we'll be thinking of you. Though I know it would be nice to be able to write more just for your own sake. Matilda's day sleeps are all over the place. Sometimes she'll only have three short naps through the day and then we'll have the odd day where she'll do a marathon 3 hour sleep. But she rarely sleeps much between 3pm and bedtime at 7 or 8pm.
Alison - Matilda gets quite upset before sleeps sometimes too but I reckon you're really lucky that Amelia settles again quite quickly. Your description of her just going out like a light made me smile. She's such a cutie. We're trying a gro-bag for the first time tonight. I was a bit worried she'd wake herself with her hands but so far so good. If you go to the grobag website they give you a guide on what they should wear at different temps with the different TOG ratings.
Rose - Isn't it hard to watch our DH's with so much freedom sometimes!! But wasn't Avatar great in 3D? I hope you could get into your GP quickly to talk about your PND.
Beany - It really sounds like wonder week 19 is approaching fast for Michael. Matilda was soooooo cranky and out of sorts last week. Wouldn't sleep during the day. Was off her tucker (which is so unlike her). I'm wondering if it was a bug but it was probably the fussy period leading up to week 19. I hope he's come out the other side of it for you.
Hi Suz, Brussels, Carmey and anyone else checking in. I hope you're all doing fabulously.
AFM - well I'm actually feeling pretty exhausted so I think I'll keep this short and sweet and get on tomorrow to give a bit more of an update. Matilda is getting really full on and is needing a lot more input if you know what I mean. She wants help sitting up so she can play with her toys infront of her (might be time for a Bumbo) and wants to be constantly carried around to look at everything and touch things. It's gorgeous but tiring! Well goodnight sweethearts. Sleep well.
-
Hi Girls,
Hannah - Your avatar is so cute! Nice to see Amelia on there. Well done to you and Amelia! You know your baby better than anyone so you should listen to your instinct. It's all trial and error but you've done well to figure out what works best for Amelia.
Rose - Hope you and Liam are feeling better. Craig had the same reaction with baby Panadol as Liam, big projectile vomits. I think Hannah's right, it must taste pretty bad.
Alison - Yes, Ryan gets overtired too and fights sleep at times. I use blankets and a sheet, with them made up only halfway up the bed and all tucked in (like on the SIDS website). Ryan sleeps in a cotton wondersuit. I didn't use Grobags with Craig and probably won't this time either (I never found any on sale that were the right size, TOG or 'gender'). How's the new camera going? Got your photos back from your photo shoot?
Kanda - Great to hear from you! Love the pics you've been putting up on FB, the girls are so cute! I drag the laptop around the house with me and manage to find some time to post, but I guess we've been spending a lot of time at home with the toilet training. I'm hoping that things will get easier with 2 kids, that we'll fall in to some kind of routine (ha!) 'cause at the moment we just bounce from piller to post. Good on you for getting out and walking, I bet you feel good. I wish I could do any exercise, even the Wii Fit is impossible at the moment.
Tilda - I went through the same things with my DH when Craig was born. Even now he still doesn't get that his life hasn't really changed but mine has. There is no alone or 'me' time anymore. All I want is for him to come home early from work one day so I can go to the hairdresser and to be fair I should talk to him about it. Just chat to your DH about your feelings, he's probably not even aware of how you feel.
Beany - Hope you had a nice 30th birthday! Mine was a bit of a fizzer too. I also don't have many friends, but DH and my best friend were meant to plan a surprise 30th for me but got disorganised and it didn't happen. Which didn't really matter in the end because DH gave me a balloon ride for my birthday which was so awesome that I was too tired to socialise anyway. Sounds like your photo shoot went well, can't wait to see more pics!
Carmey - Oh dear! That's my fear, having a nipple hanging out! Did you guys find a place to rent? I've been thinking lots about your cousin and Charlie, it sounds like the surgery went well. Creatnine levels are important even years after a transplant, they still monitor my brother's pretty closely. Rose's explanation of Creatnine was spot on.
Brussels - Eva sounds like she hasn't skipped a beat since swapping to FF. Hope you're all doing better.
Lani, Willow, Sesame hope you girls are doing well.
AFM - So tired. Ryan has finally started to settle down after all the frantic feeding and spewing. He's reaching for toys and holding them now. Rolls from back to side and then sometimes on to his tummy. I'm also thinking about a bumbo now, he's always trying to sit up. We ditched Craig's night nappies (pull-ups) a few nights ago and so far no bed-wetting. Our house has become a real pigsty, but this week I've been trying to get back on top of it. We're off to our caravan for Easter, so if I don't post again before we go, I hope everyone has a great Easter break! And happy 4 months to all the bubs!
-
Hi girls!
suz - I've said it before, I don't know how you cope with two kids. You're a champion.
Tilda - Liam is the same, he always wants to be entertained or held. He's always been like it to some extent, but it's crazy right now. I suspect that it's a wonder week thing. I hope so, because I'd like to actually put him down from time to time to get things done.
kanda - At the moment, Liam is very much a cat napper, and rarely sleeps more than 40 minutes at a time, though he'll occasionally have a random 2-3 hour sleep. He tends to have a couple of naps in the morning and either one or two in the afternoon. He's usually awake from about three or four until his bedtime at seven or eight (and well cranky by then). I'm actually just starting to work on trying to encourage him to extend his naps using the No Cry Nap Solution.
Alison - I do the same as Hannah with the sleeping bags - I just dress Liam more warmly beneath it. I was actually thinking the same thing a few nights ago when it was cool and wondering if I should put a blanket on him as well. But he kicks blankets off like crazy, so it works better for him to just put more clothes on him, I think.
Hannah - I definitely agree with not listening to anyone else. Every baby is going to be different. Liam feeds way more - he feeds every 1-2 hours during the day and usually only has short feeds. But I figure that it works better for him with his reflux.
AFM - Liam and I are doing much better today. I'm still feeling vaguely off and dizzy, but my overt cold symptoms have gone. Liam's still a bit snuffly, but he's been really happy all day, apart when he got overtired at the end of the day (as usual). It's been lovely to see him happy again, because he's been so sad and upset all the time.
As I mentioned above, I'm starting to work on his sleeping habits. I don't know if they can really be changed, but I really would like to him to take longer naps than he does, because he often wakes up cranky and clearly tired. I'm working from the No Cry Sleep and Nap Solution books, and will try one thing at a time. I had white noise going all night last night and he had a really good night (and so did I). I'm trying to wean him off the dummy a little bit as well, just to stop him getting dependent on it for sleep.
I'm coming to the conclusion that Liam is fairly high needs - he hates being on his own and pretty much always needs to be entertained, amongst all of the other factors they use to define high needs babies. He's having more and more time during the day where he's really happy, giggling and smiling and cooing, so I'm just going with the flow, even if it is exhausting for me. My mother still comes to help me every day, which is incredibly awesome.
And now I'm rambling on. I was going to have a rant about my MIL, but I think I'll leave that for another post. My washing just finished, and I need to go and hang out nappies.

Hi Girls, I just typed a BIG response and lost the whole lot and now Amelia is fussing on the floor as she's stuck on her tummy after rolling so will have to come back later.
----
Right am back, how annoying about my post - try again!
Hi Rose - glad you're feeling better, nothing worse than feeling ill. With regards to Liam not wanting to play on his own, have you got a jolly jumper? Amelia loves hers and while I can still see her I let her spend some of the time in it without me fussing over how cute she looks (lol)...it's meant to encourage independent play so give that a try. Amelia just about jumps out of hers these days! She's in it now giggling and laughing away and all I can see is this little pink thing going up and down ha ha.
Hi Kanda - Amelia only really has 2 decent sleeps in the day as well and sometimes only the one. The morning nap is the best, I usually get an hour out of her but sometimes in the afternoon I'll get another hour but usually only 30-45 minutes - the rest of the day she catnaps.
Hi Suz - definitely get Ryan a bumbo, I've just started using mine too cause Amelia can now sit in it unaided for a few minutes at a time, they look so cute in it too. They look grown up though which in a way makes me sad. Have fun at your caravan, we're heading to our holiday house down south on Friday for Easter as well with my family, should be fun. Mum lives in the same town and is hanging out to see Amelia, I told her yesterday she's rolling onto her tummy now and jumping up and down in the jolly jumper and she got a bit upset and said, oh, I'm missing out on so much....then I felt bad! So yeah have fun!
AFM - forgot to tell you girls I got AF again on Monday, exactly 3 weeks after the last one, how annoying!!!! I hope I don't get it every 3 weeks all the time because that would suck.
Amelia wasn't too bad last night, better than the night before, she woke at midnight upset and I actually had to pick her up which I don't normally have to do. She must of had wind though because she had a little burp. She went back to sleep after 5 minutes. She woke again at 4.30 am but I let her re-settle, I had a whopping headache so couldn't even get up so glad she did. I haven't had a headache in a year so it was a bit of a shock...I think it's a combination of AF and my neck as it's so tight today, I can hardly turn it to the left. Holding bub is giving me my bad neck again, it's been so good since finishing work too, darn it! Oh and as I think Amelia is in the beginning stages of teething, if anyone is interested the girls on the November forum have given me a link to these things called Amber Teething Necklaces which BB advertise on here somewhere. Not sure if I've done this right but here goes: Baltic Amber Teething Necklaces | Teething Relief | amberbebe.com

I also had a huge post and then Eva needed me so I left and came back and the whole thing was lost :( grrrrrrrr....
Hi everyone!
Carmey, hehe on the boobie slip - Hapenned to me too once, like Tilda after feeding in the car...and all of Dhs brothers have caught me at least once with a bra hanging out or I catch myself talking to them and realize that if I move eva from her burping position then they would get a full view of everything! Have you started the solids yet? I want to hear all about it. Eva stares at us eat but has not reached out for anything yet, so I am going to wait a bit - I wanted to start already but she is just getting into a good routine with the formula so I don't want to over work her system and will wait until I get back from NY to start solids (will make feeding easier on the go as well). How is everything going with you and DH?
Rose, I am glad Liam is feeling better...all the high needs stuff you describe was Eva exactly before she started the reflux meds...I think reflux babies are just a handful, as Hannah, you and I can attest to! He should get better once he is mobile and better at entertaining himself and when his digestive system is more developed. But you are really great at not stressing too much and letting him go at his pace and I think you're going to end up with a super happy little guy because he has such a great mum :) For the naps, I know it is stressful but maybe you can try to leave him on his belly only for naps? As long as you can see him it should be ok, no? Eva never napped until I started putting her on her belly - I used to get 20 min left and right all day, making it impossible to get anything done between that and little feeds because of the reflux, so that is just an idea since reflux babies are notorious for hating to be on their backs.
Tilda, I totally think you are not being unreasonable. DH knows that if it is not super important or work related that he had better not leave me home too many days or nights in a row...Especially during fussy periods! I get you on being a bit resentful. DH can go anywhere really but he does not, but he can and I can't since it stresses me to leave her and she needs me too much now. On the other hand I have a much more intense relationship with Eva, so you can look at it both ways, but it is exhausting especially on those difficult nights when you feel like you've been walking around with her on your shoulder for days! Just explain it to him - men really don't reason like we do, so tell him why you're upset.
Alison, can't wait to see the photos...how does that jolly jumpoer thing work? Does it attach to a door or something? Have you got pics of how it is installed? I was considering getting one too....
Eva is up - I am going to post this so it does not get lost and come back later to finish!!!!
xoxo
Kanda, good to see you back!
-
Hello ladies!
Alison - yeah, I guess Canning Vale is kinda down my way, its another 15 mins or so inland from where I am. :) I dont' think Michael has reached the throwing tantrums before sleeping stage yet...usually when I lie him down in his cot he has a short cry, but calms down once he's got his grobag on, and dummy in. He's usually asleep within 10 mins, unless he's in a talkative mood, in which case he'll lie there for up to 45 mins chatting away. So cute tho...I go and put the dummy back in hoping he'll go to sleep and he just smiles at me and spits it out! I could just eat him! Wow, so you reckon Amelia is teething? How can you tell? I'm trying to look in Michaels mouth to see if I can see anything, but I can't. Thats good Amelia has got the hang of the Jolly Jumper...Michael kind of just stands there and tries to walk, so he doesn't bounce as such! Oh well, maybe he'll get it one day! And he does those cries with his eyes closed, I usually just watch him and eventually he opens them, but keeps crying. I was wondering if thats when they wake up momentarily and everything looks different to them? (I seem to remember Wonder Weeks mentioning something like that, that things all look different to them when they're going through a WW?).
Rose - Michael is very much the same with his sleeps. Its nearly ALWAYS only 40 mins (if he wakes up less than that then thats when he usually does those cries I mentioned to Alison), and I find when I put him down AFTER 12pm he'll usually sleep till past 2pm. So he sleeps generally for 40 mins at 8am (sometimes at 9.30am), big sleep 12am, then 40 mins about 4pm and thats it for during the day. But I can put up with that, so long as he sleeps well at night! I have to say, I have never really left Michael to entertain himself...I'm always playing with him (tiring..yes!). Should we not be doing that? Maybe I should try leaving him on his own for a while...?
Hannah - How is Amelia going with her sleep? I hope she keeps up the long stints at night for you! :crossfingers: I hope she doesn't get sick! yes, I'm getting the hairpulling too...he goes for the fine wispy bits on my hairline...and his hands are usually soggy with drool which gives him a good grip...ouchies!
Kanda - 8kms! Good heavens! Good on you! Michael has 2-3 naps of 40 mins, plus most times a sleep of about 2-2.5 hours.
Tilda - is Matilda still off her food? Michael is...its been a couple of weeks now since we've had a normal feed. I worry that he's not getting enough. I hope you've been able to catch up on some sleep, its so hard when you're tired :(
Suz - Glad to hear the toilet training appears to be going well! Thats great! Hope you have a lovely holiday over Easter :)
BS - We have a Jolly Jumper too...it kind of 'clamps' onto the top of your door frame. Its better to have a wider doorframe to attach it to tho, I"ve noticed Michael comes very close to headbutting the side of the frame sometimes :o But you can also buy a frame that you can attach it to as well, might be safer too in my opinion!
Hello everyone else!
AFM - well, had a lovely birthday dinner...and Michael went to sleep like an angel before we left, so I wasn't stressed and my dad didnt hear anything from him after. Phew! And my High Tea was great too...so was just me, my sis and my bf, but I loved it. I'm never one for big groups, so it was lovely :)
Michael is going quite well. I just noticed today actually that he's beginning to get a bit of a temper!! Before, if he was playing with something and you took it off him, he wasn't bothered. But today, more than once I had to take something off him (paper he was trying to eat) and he chucked a tantrum!!! He's never done that before!! And he just seems really grumpy in general, like, just getting frustrated a lot & real stroppy! Putting a nappy on him is not very easy anymore! And changing his clothes too...he hates it now! But its lovely watching him pick up his toys, put them in his mouth, take them out again and have a look, then put them back in. So cute!
He's woken up wailing a few times today and yesterday especially. I'm putting it down to the approaching Wonder Week, I remember he used to do that during the time he would have had his last WW too.
Okies, he's due to wake up any second and I need to make a start on tea!! Eeek!
-
Beany - Michael sounds just like Matilda at the moment! She is getting soooooooo frustrated because her ambitions exceed her abilties and I'm ultimately having to fill the gap. Very tiring! Her play gym seems to only irritate her these days because she just wants to pull all the toys down and put them in her mouth. And it usually ends in tears because she either can't get it down or it bangs her in the face. And she constantly wants to be carried around or assisted to sit up. I'm so glad you had a lovely birthday dinner out as well as a high tea. High tea with my sister and bf sounds like my perfect outing!
Brussels - Isn't it awful losing a big post. I won't use our new computer to post anymore! Sounds like Eva is still doing really well. You must feel like a new woman.
Alison - I can really empathise with the neck pain! It's kicking in with me too with all this carrying around.
Rose - I'm sure Liam will be one of those babies that turns into a dream toddler - he obviously thinks you're the bees knees and he'll probably want to please and impress you as he gets older. Good luck with the sleep stuff. The more I ask around the more it seems a rare baby that does regular long day sleeps.
Hannah - I meant to mention last night that I've asked for The No_Cry Sleep Solution to be put on hold for me. I'm keen to investigate lots of different strategies. But I'm feeling more relaxed about it at the moment. I'm just praying she keeps sleeping well at night. I was talking to a woman at the cafe who said her baby started waking up every 40 minutes at night when he was about 8 months old. Yuk!!
Suz - Well done Craig on the bedwetting front! That's a big deal.
AFM - Thanks for all being so supportive about my issue with DH. I took everyone's advice and had a chat to him about how I've been feeling and he was really good about it. He said I should have told him not to go to Aikido and he wouldn't have minded and that I shouldn't feel like the "bad guy" for asking. We also said we'd try and think of ways to spend time together instead of just taking shifts with Matilda and not giving eachother any attention.
I've had a shocker of a day. A morning trip into town went horribly, horribly wrong. I realised as I got to the lift of the car park that I'd dropped my ticket so I went back and picked up what I thought was my ticket next to the car. Then I got side-tracked in Target because they were having a great sale on nursery toys (spent more than I should have and had way to much to carry). And then I got really ambitious after returning some stuff to Pumkkin Patch (the real reason for the trip) and thought I'd stop for a coffee. Well Matilda got pretty unhappy at this point and got very upset on route back to the car park where I realised I had the wrong ticket because the machine asked me for $56 dollars. So I then went to the wrong office to sort it out blah blah blah. Anyway by the time I got home Matilda was absolutely beside herself. So for the rest of the day she would only sleep on my lap and was really demanding in between the very few short naps. Oh, and I topped the day off by flooding the bathroom floor (the hose on her bath came loose and I didn't realise) and I think I've damaged the tiles because they all look water stained. DH gets home tonight thank god.
But even though Matilda has been getting pretty demanding it's also been fun. But I'm not sure why I spent a whole lot of $$$$ on toys today when she got a bigger kick out of coffee beans in Jamie Oliver's flavour shaker! And hey, does anyone else notice their bub's love nappy free time these days? Matilda just loves rolling about all nudie. It's very cute.
-
Beany - forgot to mention Matilda is back feeding like her old self again. Which has made for happier times and better sleeps (today excepted). I reckon its the wonder week thing. I think there's so much going on in their little brains and bodies its really little wonder they go off their food. But if it keeps up for too long maybe ask your CHN about it.

Hi BS - Beany explained the jolly jumper well, it has a clamp type thing that attaches to either side of the top of a door frame, or you can buy an A-frame type thing for it but that takes up a fair bit of room by the looks. Definitely get one, Eva will LOVE it! Amelia jumps up and down so much she almost catapults herself out of it lol. I've uploaded her in it on FB if you're interested in having a look at how it works.
Hi Beany - Michael is so cute :D Amelia doesn't get grumpy when you take things off her but the grumpy when going to sleep sometimes is enough for me for now thanks! lol She just fights the sleep so much lately so along with you and Tilda I think we're really starting to see the beginnings of Wonder Week 19 along with possible teething - oh joy! :o The reason I suspect teething is because everything is going in her mouth and she chews on her hands and toys and my fingers if I let her and really gnaws down on them on her gums and she gets red cheeks and drools loads. She also chews on her teats when I'm feeding her, she rolls the teat around her gums. Also one of the girls on the November forum told me her kids always fussed at night but didn't actually wake up which is exactly her when they were teething so I'm wondering if it's that. I swear I can feel hardness on her bottom gum and I was told they can start now but it may take months for the teeth to actually come through the gums. I just hope the next few weeks don't get worse, with this 19th wonder week I'm a little nervous, the chapter in the book is huge have you read it! lol
Hi Tilda - OMG what a crappy day you had!!! Talk about one thing after another! That usually happens to me don't worry! Hope tomorrow is a better day for you sweets.
AFM - went to the shops today and some photographic mob were offering to do photos for $7.00 - no obligation to buy any more so I did! Even though I just had some done last Friday lol. I actually loved what they did so can't wait to pick the pics up in a couple of weeks. For $7.00 you get a montage with a few photos on it, I did notice they try to sell you the whole lot as a package for $600 but I've told them outright I just had some done. You can buy separate though for different prices for different sizes per photo so if I REALLY like one I will......hopeless aren't I! Just that it was just after her morning nap and she had 1.5 hours this morning so she was fresh and smiley and they got some cute poses.....not to mention they snuck in a bow and hat for a few of them...don't tell DH ha ha. Can't wait to get the ones from last Friday though, should get them next week, yay!!
Well, best go, Amelia is asleep in the rocker without chucking a tantrum, wahoooooooo, I rock with my foot while I type - if you're not multi-skilled before you have a baby you certainly learn to be afterwards don't you!
Hope everyone is well and has a lovely evening. xx

Alison - I had photos done of Liam by the same people last week! I'm looking forward to seeing the photos, since he was really smiley for them :) And I just ordered an amber teething necklace, too. They're something that I didn't really consider until Liam started with the teething (at least I think that's what's happening - he's doing the same as Amelia), but hey, if it works, it'll be awesome. If not, I have some pretty beads :)
Tilda - Argh, what an awful day :( I hate it when things pile on top of each other like that, and of course everything is a million times worse with a cranky bub.
beany - I don't really leave Liam to entertain himself a lot, but I think it's important for bubbas to try to learn some independent play. Not every kid is going to take to it, of course, and they'll take to it at different stages. Some days Liam is happy to lie down on his playmat and play for about ten minutes, but those days are rare. Liam is getting pretty stroppy about the things that he wants to do but can't, too.
BS - I had Liam down for a nap on his belly today, and I think I'm going to do it more regularly. He can lift his head up and move no problems if he needs to, but I'll supervise him until he's rolling freely. I've noticed that he often ends up sleeping on his side these days, too, which must be more comfy for him.
AFM - Had a rough night and day again. Liam was unsettled last night, waking up screaming several times. Apart from 2am, when he decided to wake up happy and talky and stay awake for two hours, during which time he got tired and cranky and screaming again. I ended up having to wake up DH and get him to walk with Liam to try to settle him, which I hate doing. But I was at my wit's end. Liam's been unsettled all day again, refusing to nap for most of the day for more than 10-20 minutes (and always on me - he even refused to be rocked to sleep by my mother, which is unusual). He did have one longer sleep in the afternoon, which is when I had him down on his belly. He's still refusing to nap in his crib at the moment during the day, but I'm not overly worried about that. I wish he would nap in his swing or bouncer sometimes, but he doesn't.
Where do you girls set your bubs down to nap during the day? Usually I put Liam into his crib in a semi-darkened room with music playing. I sometimes set him on the couch next to me, and of course, more often right now he's sleeping in my arms or in a sling.
I think that Liam's definitely starting teething, and he's still snuffly from his cold and unhappy about that. I think we're also seeing the first separation anxiety as well. It's kind of nice to be needed, but it does get exhausting, especially when I'm sick myself.
I think I'm going to have a look at jolly jumpers now, too!

Ok, I'm going to continue where I left off!!!
Hannah, you're right to do what feels right with Amelia...I have to get one of those jolly jumpers methinks! Why is it that I can't stop buying stuff!!!!!!!????
Kanda, great to see you online! For sleeps, Eva wakes at 630/7 most days eats, stays up with us for a bit then heads back down to bed around 830/9 for about 1-2 hours. Then she gets up and eats and stays up until about 1/2 then sleeps anywhere between 1-3 hours, depending on the day...then gets up plays, feeds, bath, then plays then sleep around 7 for about 1/2-1 hour, then wakes up around 8 for a feed again then is out for the night around 930/10. This is amazing compared to how she used to only do little 20 minute catnaps all day and I am 100% sure that it is due to belly sleep. She sleeps exclusively on her belly even through the night. The formula has structured her days a bit more but it has only been a week and a half or so, so it is still in progress. When she was Bfing she would never nap for more than an hour with a rare 3 hour afternoon sleep but she did sleep through the night so I didn't care. (night being 930-530/6am). Good to hear you're being active. How is everything going with the PND?
Suz - yay for cRaig being so great at the potty training thing...Once he gets the hang of it enjoy the break before Ryan needs training :) Enjoy the vacation! Looking forward to seeing some pics of the boys and see how big they are getting!
Beany, that is what worries me - her hitting the dorr! She is already over ambitious hitting herself in the head and face constantly with her toys that I feel like she would fly off in a jolly jumper! lolol - those tantrums sound liek he is just getting angry at his limitations. Eva does not get really angry but she starts squealing high pitched squeals when she gets ****ed, like trying to tell me to come over and fix it! I sometimes just let her be and try to figure it out. And sometimes like with new toys, I take her hands and show her how to manipulate them etc...
For example, the other day she was in her little bouncy chair and the music shut off, so you have to pull a ring to operate it. She started squealing, and as she had never done it before, I put her hand in the ring and helped her pull a few times. Then I left her in it where she could not see me and she started squealling and when I did not show up she started staring at it and finally pulled the ring herself and was so happy and proud of herself! I taped it for DH, so maybe I'll post it to facebook, but I realized then that i need to be leaving her alone more, so I leave her to play alone in her playpen, bed or on her mat at least an hour a day (not one solid block, but a few short playtimes) - this also allows me to get a shower in! She likes her playtime now and just squeals at all her toys and is figuring them out quickly. But I always take lots of time with new toys before leaving her alone so that she does not get too mad not understanding them.
Tilda, I am sorry you had an awful day - we all have those :( T hen going home with a cranky bub just makes it worse...I'm glad DH understood :)
Rose, I think the belly sleep thing is a good idea for naptime, and once he is stronger try it for night sleeps. You won't believe the difference - To sleep I just put Eva down on her belly, she wometimes whines a bit but then just wiggles around and puts herself to sleep. I can't remember the last time I had to rock her to sleep (It was def when she did not tummy sleep since I had to rock her to sleep every time then try to put her down on her back when she would wake screaming etc....you get it :)
Wooooo, that was long.
Ok, so just a quick update - Eva is still doing great! She went from pooing once every two weeks without help to three poos a day now! She sleeps better and is generally happy and not cranky. I am in heaven. I feel no guilt anymore seeing how happy she is! She did have a gas fit today though because I did not have enough bottles and used another one (I use tommee tippee usually and she has no gas issues) and she made me pay for it this evening. She cried so much then had a feed, fell asleep close to the end of it and is passed out cold now.
Another very cool think, I went to the little gym, which is a gym for kids from 4months-12 years old with Eva yesterday - It was so cool! We rolled them on balls, stretched them in all directions, played with bells, balls, bubbles (she stared at those bubbles!!! I have to get her some for this summer) - and she had a big feed and slept for three hours, then bath then back to bed til morning - 45 minutes of action really tired them out, huh?
I am doing ok but my boobs hurt so bad - I am still working on weaning and stopped bf completely and am back on the pill and am going to see the doc soon for the rest of the stuff...I feel less hungry already and less tired in general - my skin is already starting to clear up and I have more energy to work out more :) So things are looking up - I am hoping to drop 10 kilos by the end of summer and 10 more by January where DH and I will proceed to get me fat all over again with bubba #2
SO off to work out while Eva sleeps! she'll be up for a feed soon and DH gets back tonight from a 2 day business trip to Paris...MIL was there too so I know Eva will have some presents headed her way!!! Parisian baby fashion is just gorgeous! That girl's wardrobe puts me to shame! lol
Kisses to you all and to your gorgeous bubs!

Hi BS - wow lucky Eva, clothes from Paris - I'M JEALOUS!!
Hi Beany - did you have a horrible night as well?
AFM - I don't know what's going on here but I'm going crazy! My 10 hours of uninterrupted nights with maybe the odd once wake up for dummy has turned to crap. Last night I got up every hour! She's not awake as such, her eyes are closed, she's on her back (which she always used to sleep on her side so don't know what that's about) but she's whinging. I'm scared to let her go in case she wakes herself up fully but maybe I need to try tonight and see what happens. What could be causing this? Teeth, wonder week? It's doing my head in and I feel so tired today, I have the stiffest neck which is giving me a headache.......any suggestions anyone???? Also, the first morning all week there is no construction going on next door and it's been super noisy these last few days and guess what, she woke up at 7.00 am instead of 8.00 am....she was just chatting away in her room so I let her go for a bit but I was still awake. It might be APRIL FOOL'S DAY but I aint laughing!!!!!!! Also, is it normal for her to be doing a "breast milk" poo when she's on full formula and has been for 3 days now? She just did one this morning and it was more like it used to be before I stopped expressing/BF'ing - you know, with the yellow and mustard seeds instead of the more compact green stuff lol....how revolting. I wonder if it's still from her needles, although that was a week and a half ago now! Anyone for breakfast? ;)
-
Morning all....:asleep:
Tilda - Oh you poor thing! Sound like you had a rotten day! Don't you hate it when everything goes wrong at once! Maybe you got all your bad stuff out of the way for a while, perhaps things will improve for you now! Yes, Michael is the same with his play gym thing, he wants anything and everything in his mouth, and its just no good having things dangling in front of his face! So glad things went well with your DH :) Sounds like he's very understanding :) I've tried nappy-free time with Michael most days...but usually ends up with him weeing everywhere and me putting all the blankets he lies on in the wash...thats even with a terry towelling "old-fashioned" nappy underneath his nudie bits, but they dont' soak up diddly-squat!! Yeah, I'll keep an eye on his feeds. I used to love feeding him, but now its become such a drawn-out battle...
Alison - actually yeah, I tried letting Michael suck on my knuckle yesterday and this morning and he's actually biting down and rubbing his gums on it, so perhaps he is at the beginning stages of teething too? Poor little monkey. $7 to get photo's done??! Wow! What a bargain! Michael still does those poo's every now and then too...more yellowy with "mustard seeds" in it. And he's been FF for a long time! Oh you poor thing getting up every hour! But yeah, something is going on last night, it was like he just couldn't get off to sleep properly after that, he was trying tho. I hope tonight isn't the same...just what we need in the lead up to a busy weekend!
Rose - Gosh, sounds like we're all having a rough time at nights! You poor thing with the 2am wake up. I wish this phase would hurry up and finish already! During the day, when I'm home he has only ever slept in his cot or bassinet - I was definite that I didn't want him getting used to falling asleep anywhere but his own bed (apart from once when he fell asleep on our bed during a mega-cranky time). But then, perhaps I was able to do that because he has generally been a very good sleeper. Its only when we're out that he falls asleep in the pram or car seat. I've been wondering when seperation anxiety would start...must be soon then, I haven't noticed it in him yet.
BS - I agree with Alison ....sooo jealous of Parisian clothes for Eva! Wonder if they'd have anything nice for boys? Hmm...might have a look on Vert Baudet website, they're French, aren't they? I'm so happy for you that Eva is much more settled. Is your DH enjoying feeding her too? Wow, thats fantastic that she knows to pull that ring to make the music!
AFM - as I mentioned on fb...Michael has been out of sorts this morning. First waking at 3.30am, which he hasn't done since he was prolyl abuot 9 weeks old. So I put the dummy in...woke up again 20 mins later...dummy in...another 20 mins...and another 5 mins...etc etc. Ended up taking my pillow into his room and lying down there, not that I could sleep, but at least I was resting. Then he didnt' get up till 7am! Unheard of! There is definitely something going on. Must be wonder week. I had the same thing happen last Thursday actually. Wierd. So yeah, pretty tired today. But I think I'll still go for my walk, its such a lovely day!
xx

I just typed a massive post and my internet disconnected again! I'm so annoyed, could the day get any worse!
I can't even begin to start writing it all again, all I can say is Beany, I have the same issues as you at the moment, this wonder week better end soon. Even feeding is taking forever, she chews on the teat, looks around everywhere, wants to hold the bottle yada yada. Definitely a wonder week though, yesterday she didn't finish a bottle and just now she's only lasted 3 hours since her last feed, it's normally 4 or at least 3.5. This wonder week sux!:shakehead:

Hi everyone I can't make this a long post but I just wanted to suggest a few things to Alison re her neck. But I hope all the grizzly babies cheer up for Easter. Will post properly later...
Alison - You may have tried most of these things but will tell you what works for me. Basically heat, anti-inflamatories if its really painful and anti-inflammatory gel like Voltaren or Orudis gel is great on the actual site. I can recommend a great physio in Perth. His name is Salem and he's at Central City Physio in the city right next at the train station (up the top of the escalators if you know where I mean). He is fabulous at loosening stiff necks. My physio here also showed me how I should be picking Matilda up so I don't strain my neck and shoulders and it really works (I've been a bit slack with it lately and I'm paying the price). If they're lying down don't pick them up under the arm pits if you know what I mean, but scoop a hand under their back (and supporting their head/neck) and one under their butt and bring them up to your chest. It helps to lean as close as possible down to them. If it's from an elevated surface bend your knees and stick your butt out to lean down rather than lean over at the waist. You feel like a dill but it really does lessen the strain. If they're on the floor, squat down, and lift them the same way up onto your thigh then up on to your shoulder and then stand up like you're coming up from a squat (not a lunge). This all helps take the strain off. If you can't imagine quite what I mean but would like to see it I could try taking video and emailing it to you.

Hi Rose - Wow that's exactly what it is huh! I've been reading my Wonder Weeks book and going yep, yep, yep and now this, a big yep! Looks like we're in for a tough few weeks then huh!
Anyway girls I'm off to our holiday house down south tomorrow for Easter, back on Monday but I won't be logging on while away so I'll be MIA for a few days. Will miss talking to you all heaps....I'm nervous about Amelia too as she's already out of whack so taking her down there could be even worse as she'll have to sleep in the portacot! At least she'll be in my room so I won't have far to do the dummy thing that that article talked about lol! Have a fabulous Easter girls, take care, eat lots of choccy and enjoy! Speak to you all Monday.
xx
-
Hi Alison You might be still here...have a great Easter enjoy your time away! Good luck with Amelia hope she's not too put out while you're away:crossfingers:
Hope you don't have any more up every hour nights too!!
-
Thanks Willow, Happy Easter to you and the boys, have a great one mate.

Hi Girls, geez I've been finding it hard to get on and post lately! I jump on and read but just can't seem to get long enough to post.
Sounds like we're all struggling with wonder week issues and it's definitely exhausting, Suzi and Kanda, I don't know how you do it with toddlers!!!
I know I had a toddler when DS2 was a baby, but he was a very easy baby, I only remember him being demanding once and it lasted for one whole day so no real drama. Harry is more like his oldest brother was, demanding most of the time, and at the moment woaaaahh!
I'll try to get to everyone but don't hold it against me if I miss someone or something, tired worn out baby brain!
Carmey :ROFL: Lucky contractors! I am constantly forgetting to put my boob away after feeding, but as yet haven't flashed any random strangers, but would not be surprised if I did.
Harry also has a few chins and gets quite red and yucky in the deepest one if we don't get it clean properly, it's so hard to get to it as he won't cooperate and put his head right back so we feel like we're hurting him to get in there and it's pretty much a 2 person job, one to hold and tilt the other to clean, makes it quicker. The hazards of a chubba bubba :D
We aren't planning on starting solids before 6 months, DP has eczema and allergies so going to hold off if we can JIC But I had DS1&2 on solids earlier than 6 months, DS2 was even earlier than the recommended 4 months back then, he was a hungry baby!! And they didn't and don't seem to have any issues, but they didn't have the allergy&eczema on their dad's side that Harry does so we'll err on the safe side at this point.
So glad your cousin and her little boy's ops went well that's excellent!
Suzi Wow I'm jealous that Ryan was sleeping through the night (I'm sure he will again soon) is he the only BF bub in here that was sleeping through? What's your secret?? lol Did Craig sleep through at this age too?
If you do decide to extend, so far we're happy with our builder, he's also doing an extension on our friends house as well so if we're both happy in the end I'd be happy to recommend him for you guys.
YAY for the dry nights Craig:dance:
Tilda I read somewhere that sleeveless sleep bags keep the baby warm but allow them to vent extra heat through the head and arms/hands, it also said that having cool hands is ok, it shows everything is working properly as long as the tummy is warm. So sleeveless with long sleeves under when it's cold was what they suggested. The ones with sleeves would still be ok as long as she wasn't getting too hot, and great for outdoors in winter too.
Rose Great sleep link thank you. As for day sleeps I was putting Harry in his swing for one sleep a day (don't want him too used to it so when he grows out of it there's not too much drama) and for the rest I was putting him in his bed/cot. That however all went out the window when the wonder week issues started, he's either slept on me, or I feed him laying on my bed and sneak away when he falls asleep on the boob, he has been improving the last few days but I've been putting him in the swing just for a little peace. Hopefully when this fussy wonder week stage ends I won't have to rely on the swing so much...hopefully! I really think wherever they will sleep is a good place, not too strict on having to have him in his own bed at the moment!!
I hope your doctor can help you with the post natal, I'm finding it hard to cope with Harry during this fussy period, I can't imagine how hard it must get for you with the post natal as well, you're doing a great job I admire you!!
BS That is great that Eva is doing so well now and you're starting to feel like a new woman, and I'm very jealous of all that sleep! But really good that you're feeling so good and Eva is happy :) Jolly jumpers are great all my kids have loved them, Harry had his first go today and thought it was great.
Beany Harry's feeds have been a battle too! The only easy feeds we get are as soon as he wakes up from a sleep and is still not quite awake but if he's been up for a while it's a battle! sometimes I have to lie down and feed him and sometimes I just give up and try to distract him for a while until he's really really hungry. He seems to be settling down a bit now though so let's hope Michael does too.Don't be too scared of teething, not all babies have trouble DS1&2 didn't have huge problems, I guess I was pretty luck with that, but it isn't always horrible.
Oh and the talking through the baby thing drives me insane, I hate it! Hated it with DS1&2 and it was actually something I was dreading when I was pg with Harry, it is rude and condescending IMO! I also feel like slapping them when they do it and I always think of a great comeback way to late lol.
Michaels photos were soooo beautiful she did a fantastic job!!!
Alison If it's working for you don't change a thing!!! Don't worry about what anyone else says Amelia is happy that's what matters, she'll drop a feed when she's ready and make up for it with other feeds when she needs it, she'll let you know don't worry.
Aren't they cute when they roll over! :) Harry looked a bit shocked, like how'd that happen when he first did it lol He rolled alot for the first few days and hasn't done it much the last week or so. I think he worked out not to as he rolled from back to front and can't get back over, and he doesn't like tummy time lol
Lani Hope Jett's cold is better! Not nice when they're sick.
Hannah Hope you're doing ok, I think you're doing a great job too like I said to Rose, it must be extra hard especially during the fussy periods, and Amelia isn't the easiest baby without these wonder weeks. Don't pressure yourself with trying to have her in a routine that others think she should be in! You do what's good for you and her and bugger what anyone else thinks!
Well Harry's asleep so I'm going to follow him my eyes are fighting to stay open and they are losing!
Hope everyone has a great Easter!
Sorry to those I missed hope you're all going ok:D

Alison, it might be teeth - Eva has been crabby and randomly crying out in pain then throwing herself at my hand to bite on my fingers.... :( Here we go! I was just starting to get used to the calm since switching from bf...no break for me  - I started putting some teethers in the freezer and got her this "toothbrush" thing - it is like a silicone chewer in the shape of a toothbrush and she has been nibbling on it like crazy - she loves when it is just out of the freezer, so try that? I also read somewhere that teething can sometime scause diarrhea? So maybe that is what is happenning? Have you tried looking at her gums to see if you see a lump? Eva does the same with the bottle, looking around, sticking her finger in her mouth while she's eating, everything!
Beany, I don't know that brand, but the french have very nice stuff for boys, generally in very somber colors though...My favorite brands for every day are petit bateau or jacadi, and the fancy stuff from bonpoint...to die for!!! And I was right - MIL brought Eva back a hot pink t-shirt with crystals around a pic of a dummy with little hot pinkk ruffle socks! Then the great grandparents for her a GORGEOUS dress from bonpoint - I mean just gorgeous - it is pink silk and has these little cut out discs aroudn teh collars that float in the wind...and has a matching little panty - so cute! I worry she'll throw up as soon as I put it on her! But it is a very chic brand so I'll try to make her wear the dress as often as possible before she outgrows it!
Here they are: http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o...m/_MG_2817.jpg
Girls, I have a great idea for playtime for you all, and I know beany was asking a while back for ideas - MIL and I went to go buy Eva some bodysuits and things like that and found these amazing little socks with rattle animals on the tip! You put them on the baby and it helps them discover their feet - Eva didn't get it at first but I sat her down on my lap and shook her feet for her then she understood and had a blast - I am sure you can just sew a very small rattle stuffed animal on a regular pair of socks if you can't find something similar. Here is a pic so you get the idea: http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o...m/_MG_2815.jpg
Eva's up again, be back in a bit to finish!

Rose, thanks for that great link!!! That was hapenning before with Eva too!
Willow, Eva also sort of stopped rolling - she did it and then stopped...I guess she does not care anymore, she will only roll if I help her while on the floor playing with her. I guess she is focusing on other things... I am so glad that swing still helps - I am using mine less and less these days :)
AFM, boobs still killing me! but not as much so I look like I have fake boobies!! This is a welcome change and I'll enjoy it until they go down, which I really want them to do asap!
DH and I are getting back into the swing of things with DTD and all that - I guess a baby that actually sleeps, leaves a lot of time for everything else...
One more thing - I was talking to a friend of MIL who is much older and has three kids and they mentioned that she might also be doing better since breastmilk is much more acidic...Come to think of it, when I was switching, she threw up every breast feed that I was doing and only keeping down the formula (she either threw it all up or a large part of it, which I have never had her really do before - she is not really a spewer)...
Ok, so it is gorgeous here - while you girls are going into winter I have spring arriving!!!
And I am just counting down to go home!
xoxo
Lovely WE girls and bubs!
