Aw thanks Ali - yes I am still on WW. I have lost 7.5kg so far (half way to my healthy weight goal) so I am feeling much better about things. I am still about 3.5kg off pre-pregnancy weight but I can wear normal clothes now. Woohoo!

BBL (when i get a new computer)
Hi everyone!
Another quick one from me...
Really busy/stressed at the moment. Assignments left right and centre + whingy, clingy, velcro baby who won't sleep!
Thanks for all your supportive words! Rainforest, I think I'll take you up on your offer - I will PM you! Thanks
Hope you're all well. Don't know when I'll get the time to post next - I am really behind at uni...how naive was I to think I could go back this semester :wall:
xox
bleh crap day! pinny i nearly came to your house today as i was trying to get millie to sleep, she did eventually!
holly i think your amazing to be studying and mummy-ing!
Hopefully you have agood night then AJP.
I agree - Holly I don't know how you do it. I would really love to go back to study nursing, and I would get a fair few credits for study I have already done, I just don't feel smart enough any mre!!
Shell - How are you all?
Funeral was a nice service. Very draining day tho. The girls were well beahved thru it, Ash sensed something was up cause she just sat on my lap and cuddled up to me.
Talking about study, I've been saying I want to do something else, was originally wanting to go into midwifery, be only an extra year of study for me. But I'm also thinking would like to get out of nursing and maybe some sort of teaching at like an autism or special school.
The way I see it if we are gonna have to work til we're into our 60's going into study in my 30's is nothing.
Ali- Any improvement on the nights?
Holly- Good luck with it all, you're amazing doing it, I can barely think these days!
Meg- once baby brains wears off you'll do fine going back, like you said you should get exemptions already being in that sort of area.
OP- How is the eliminations going? If it gets tough maybe do one at a time?
Kaz-pmsl at that dream, nope not blonde, average height and not so thin anymore just pretty average I am! As for feeds Emily has 6 bottles a day, tin says 5 but she still wakes overnight for one. I'm hoping once she takes more solids it'll decrease.
Laura- How did you cope with no net!
AJP- sorry you had a crap day, should of come up...would love the company...
Miss DD has been driving me crazy, I'm just not as patient with her anymore!!!:redface:So wish i was, feel like a bad mum sometimes coz i just raise my voice, I never used to yell at her ever!! Now I do at least once a day...
We have a major explosion poos here lately, over everything!!! Arhhh not looking forward to the solid food poos added in there soon...
My baby boy is 6 months on Tuesday!!!! Where did the time go???
shell im glad the service was nice  i was thinking of you.
i agree with the work/study, plenty of working years ahead of us yet :o
pinny i probably would have cried if i made it there  but i'll see you tomorrow!!
i also have wwwwaaaaaaaaaaaay less paitents with DD1(and DH for that matter  ), your not alone
man i should be in bed  DH has just left to go play basketball
Shell- Glad the service went ok!! Must of been so hard.
Holly- I take my hat off to you, I've been thinking about studying too, but dont' think i will until L is in kinder or prep, although I may have to sooner than I think, I used to like studying, but I know it would all be a different ball game now... you should be so proud of yourself....
AJP- Don't be embrassed about being in tears, I so hear you!!! It's tough....See you tomorrow so looking forward to it... I love the hospital mum's group, you guys are wonderful , couldn't of asked for nicer people to share the room with..
me too hun!! i love our little group!!
well no bed for me just yet, missy decided to wake for a feed :o
L must of heard Millie, he is stirring now too!
maybe there excited to be seeing each other tomorrow
all is quiet here... hoping she sleeps through now......pfffffft as if that would happen!
hey all
Still here
just been sooo flat out- just sat down now after finishing all the daily's!
DH now has gladular fever - so of course he is soo tired all the time and sleeping heaps- great!!! So picking up his slack as well.
i have been slowly loosing my voice all week- just so tired but just gotta keep going at the moment
tommorow we are getting professional photos taken of boof!! Will post when i get them back so that will be fun!
dunno if i have posted for ages but had boof weighed a couple of weeks ago at 6 months and he was 9.5kg and 70 cm long.
He is loving his solids and tonite started giving him bits and pieces that we ate as well as a start to BLS! Boof ate some roast chicken and some brocolli- even without a single tooth he managed to down some of it!! Will be limited a little with BLS as not going to introduce dairy for a bit longer- DD is lactose intollerant and have a feeling that boof's excema is caused by me having dairy.
time to tend to my farm and then off to bed!
nite girls and sorry for the selfish post!
mwah
Hi girls,
Still here. Last night was 7 feeds which is an improvement on the previous nights. So fare we have had 1. I have double wrapped her tonight to see if that helps reduce wakenings. Went to the clinic today and waited an hour and a half then left as they just seemes to be taking foreaver and I needed a coffee. DD was coping better than me!
Will let you know how I end up going with tonights wakenings tomorrow. Off to bed now whilst she is asleep.
Personals tomorrow :grouphug:
ali- how did you go last night?
are you co-sleeping?
Ali - I hope you night was better!
Det - Poor you with the sickies in your house! I hope you manage to avoid it all. I think my girls are coming down with another cold and this morning their eyes were a bit gunky so I hope they aren't getting conjunctivitis!!
AFM - I have been so busy just running around getting stuff sorted. Miss J is being just beautiful and sleeping well at night. Daytimes are a different story as she is still usually doing 40min at a time. She is loving her solids and lets me know when it's food time. She start to get cross and bangs her hands on the tray if I am not quick enough. She leans forward to spoon with her mouth wide open. She is actually eating quite a lot which I am surprised about but am not complaining as she seems to really enjoy the food. I am making it all myself so she is just having pureed vegies and fruit with rice cereal in the morning at the moment. I will keep her on that for a while introducing some lentils in a month or so and maybe some natural yoghurt.
Work rang me yesterday with some projects to work on so I will have a bit to do over the next few weeks - oh well some money coming in for me at least.
Hi girls - quick one from me. Had a rough few days here - Jacob seems to be teething - he is VERY unsettled. Mr. Grizzle pants. Woke heaps last night (for him) with lots of crying which is unusual and I had gone to bed with the beginnings of mastitis  plus my supply seems to be dropping too :( So I had to get the pump out at 2:30am and so far after pumping after two feeds got nothing out (which is what makes me think my supply has dropped). Hopefully I've kept mastitis at bay. We had just about every other breastfeeding problem in the first 3 months I thought I'd dodged this but apparently not.
All I want to do is go back to bed but I've got my mums group coming here tomorrow (plus tradespeople at the same time  ) so I've got to tidy up and make room for them in the lounge room.
Hopefully bbl for personals. to all. xx
HI girls,
We had a much better night last night. WEnt down at 6:30, fed at 11. Woke at 12:30 but left her grizzlig and she self settled back to sleep. I woke at 4am with a fright as I hadnt heard from her and thought she might have suffocated or something so had to check on her and me going into her stirred her so I fed her then and she slept until 7:30am! Also having a good day as I lost 3.2Kg at WW today! Woohoo! Another 30Kg to lose to get to my ideal weight though!
 Kaz, I hope you get some better sleep tonight so you are okay for your busy day tomorrow.
Nai- Hope they dont get too sick. It seems like a vicious cycle  on the weight loss!!!! You go girl! THat is fantastic!
DEt- How did the photo shoot go today?
Rainy- Last night was much better.Trying not to co-sleep anymore as DD was still waking heaps and I think its because she could smell my milk.
Ali - I am glad you had a better night last night, lets hope that tomight it the same.
DH has said that if I want I can start dooing lite n easy. So I think that I will start that in a month or so.
I met up with another mum with a bub the same age a our bubs. He is alread crawling! E doesn't even really roll that much, and just howls on her tummy. She either rolls onto her back or cries till I go and get her!
I played netball last night, and injured my knee. I have had 2 reconstructions over the years on this knee and it is not in a good way. I can't walk properly, and it is colapsing. I think I have done my ACL again. In saying that, we won, and I rocked in Goal Shooter!!
DH was on night shift last night, so it was just me in MEGA pain. I didn't really sleep. He in on night again tonight, so again on my own. We were meant to go to the holiday house tomorrow, but I don't think I can mange the 4 hour car ride. It is hard enough just carrying E around atm
Sorry about the me post.
Ali - glad you had a better night!
Meg - that's really bad about your knee :( I hope you haven't done the ACL. That would be so painful. Gee I don't think I want my baby moving around so early - Miss J likes being on her tummy and rolls from side to side but she's nowhere near crawling yet (and I like it that way ;) )
AFM - now both girls had conjunctivitis!!! Arrrgh!!! Have to try and wrestle both of them to get the drops in their eyes.
Nai- Eye drops and kids are horrible! Ash isn't too bad to do cause can bribe but when I had to do Emily a while back, nightmare! Good luck with it.
Meg- ouchie! You gonna go to see yr Dr and get it checked out or see how it goes? Hope you have some pain killers.
Ali- Hope the nights keep getting better, do you try resetling without feeding?
Kaz- Maybe your supply has just settled to exactly what he needs thats why you can't pump any extra? I just remember with Ash after a few months of feeding i found it really hard to express anything, alot different to the early days. Maybe a growth spurt? I hope he settles whatever it is.
Det- My sister had glandular fever at the start of the year and boy did it knock her big time. Took her ages to fully recover and just build her energy back, so I feel for your DH. Was dissapointing too cause she missed coming to Emily's birth because of it.
I stopped Emily rice cereal and just giving fruit/ veg, and she slept alot better last night and today so think it was upsetting her tummy, she was waking heaps before.
She isn't so much into fruit but enjoying veg.
So solids question for everyone, when do you give in relation to there milk feeds? I usually give 2.5hrs post bottle so she'll have an appetite but not so hungry that she'll refuse.
Oh and a second question, how long is everyones bubs doing overnight now? Emily does a 6hr stretch usually and a 5hr one. Unless she is having an unsettled night will wake more but only feeds that once.
Shell - with solids we have started a bit of a routine and it goes something like this (it isn't strict but sort of a guideline)
- 6.30-7am wake and BF
- 7.30 -8am Breakfast of rice cereal & fruit
- 9am ish - BF and nap time
- 11am ish - wake and BF
- 12pm - lunch of vegies & fruit
- 1pm ish - sleep
- 2-3pm - BF
- (may have a top up BF in here before dinner depending on when she woke and fed earlier)
- 5pm - vegies & fruit
- 6.30pm BF
- 6.30 - 7pm sleep
Miss J generally sleeps now from about 6.30-7pm until 6.30am without a feed or waking. I think that's why she has 2 BFs before 9am as she needs to make up for her long sleep. She still manages to pack in 5-6 BFs and 3 meals of solids during the day!!
Hello all!
Sorry I haven't posted for ages. Sleep has been shocking here :( Sounds like what's happening with you too Ali. It's been going on for almost 3 wks now though!! WTF!!!!!! She is waking every couple of hrs at night. Last night we got one 3 hr block at least. And she's really hard to get back to sleep. I have no idea what the problem is but I'm so bloody over it it's not funny!!
Anyway, tomorrow we're going to try some solids!! DH is working today so we're doing it tomorrow when he's home. gtg to ikea and get a highchair!
Hope everyone is well!! Sorry for my measly post!
has everyone in here started solids?
i'm feeling a bit behind now,i haven't given him any yet.
rainy we havent started, will do next weekend, shes 6 months on tuesday
nai have you tried breastmilk in their eyes??
shell glad the fruit and vegies are working better!!
det bleeeeeeeeeeer to glandular fever  must be tough
sara ikea highchairs are the bomb  we love ours! get either the blow up insert of the stripy cushion for it!
ali how the sleep going??
were all good, just back from both girls swimming lessons, millie was exhausted, hopefully she'll sleep for a few hours, fingers crossed!!
Jols - yep I did try the BM. Miss J looked at me as if to say "WTF are you doing mum, that's meant to go in my mouth" Unfortunately this seems to be a nasty one and we have had to get the antibiotic drops. It has been going around childcare so we were sort of expecting it :(
Nai - I hope they get better soon.
Not started on solids here yet. E was 3 weeks early, so didn't want to start till 6 months as she is a coiple of weeks behid on some milestones. In saying that, she sucked on a piece of bread at dinner time last night. SHe really liked it! I am going to try more towards baby lead solids I think.
Does anyone elses' bub still HTE being on their tum? All she does is sooks and puts her head down!
Rainforest- I wanted to wait til 6 months too, but I don't think I can hold DD off any longer!!
Jols- ooh..thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to get that!
Nai- :( how the girls are better soon!
meg- we're doing BLS too, I will post a photo!!
I forgot to mention DD can now sit up on her own!! Will sit up and play for 5-10 mins until she gets bored or tired.
meg i have the oppposite with tummy time! millie loves it! cracks it if i roll her off her tummy!
sara the blow up one comes in very handy when going out to restaurants!
Rainforest- we have not started solids yet eithe, will soon L is 6 months next week so I will see how we go..
Be back later, keybordd playing upo!
Heaven - I have the Ikea chair too but yet to use it as I am still using the bumbo as a feeding chair.
Well I have been stuck at home with my mucky-eyed girls all weekend :( DD1 seems better but Miss J is still oozing so I might have to take her to the Dr again if it isn't clear in the morning. Fortunately I had a nice Friday afternoon with my bestie for her birthday - we went to The Press Club (George Kolombaris's - from MasterChef - restaurant) which was lovely. A glass of Verve Cliquot and a nice lunch - will have to do me for a while I think...
Nai- ooh that sounds nice. Is it expensive there or reasonable? You see George?
Heaven- wow, Em only will sit for maybe 5 seconds before she tips over.
Meg- Em doesn't mind it too much will stay for maybe 10mins occasionally rolls back but most the time grizzles for me to do it, keep reminding her she can but she doesn't listen, lol. Just give E short bursts of it thru out the day if she hates it, just do for couple mins at a time. Put toys in front or dangle above her eyes so she puts her head up to look.
Well I know Jols is happy, Bombers beat Saints winning streak. I was so stressed, shaking towards the end and now have sore throat from yelling and screaming at TV. Think I take my footy too seriously.
Our crap nights returned last night, I don't know if its solids or just a wonder week, she just wakes alot at night, more unhappy during the day. Very whingy and wants to be held alot.
Shellbell- We had a crap night here too last night up evrey 3 hours, starving!!! Is it a wonder week? coz sounds like most of us have unsettled bubs at the moment? Here's to a better night tonight.
Nai- Lunch sounded fantastic!! Whas the food good?
Jols- Bet your still singing after the Bombers win!!! Hey did Jessy text you?
Well I am sore, decided to do the 1000 steps with my sister yesterday and I paying for it today!!! I left L twice yesterday, and he took a EBM bottle for DH yay!!! Both times, although made up for mummy cuddles last night!!!
At least now I can try and arrange a much needed girly night!!!
Think DD is coming down with the sniffles!! Let's hope is nothing to much!!!
Yeah week 26 (six months) is wonder week and they're all up around there. Maybe it is. I've already been up and resettled twice tonight.
Yay on DS taking bottle. Nice to knoe now you can go out without worry.
The food was lovely and it wasn't too pricey either - we did the 4 courses for $48 so not as exxy as I had expected. We didn't see George but my friend got a birthday card from him :D
Miss J has been really unsettled too :( She has been resettled 3 times already tonight - although she had great day sleeps! Why can't she do both day and night sleeps well?
i cant believe the amount of people i know with 6 month olds who are having issues! lets all hope it passes soon!
shell yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaa aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh baby  was a super game!!! i bet FIL would have been happy
pinny 1000 steps :o your keen! no txt from jessy, why??
nai lunch sounds lovely! did J feed over night or just need resettling?
ETA i gave millie 60ml EBM last night as im starting a volunteer job soon and she'll need to take it from DH, guzzled it like she has a bottle everyday :o first time shes taken it so easily
AJP- Got the highchair! They didn't have the blow up bit but I got the cushion. But she's too big for it anyway! pmsl.
shell- this bloody wonder week has been going for 3 wks!! haha
Pinny- oh well done, I can't get DD to take EBM
Nai- it's always the way, good day bad night or the other way around!
Well, I let DD cosleep last night to see if we got more sleep and we did!! Got a 5hr stretch which we haven't had in about a month!!
Yesterday we tried some solids. We're doing baby led solids and I put some carrot, cauliflower, and banana in front of her. I don't think she ate any! lol. She sucked on it all and got a bit of banana but then spat it out and kept making horrible faces for ages after, haha, I don't think she was a fan of the banana!
Here's some photos:
First solids
Sitting up
awwwww sara she's gorgeous!!! about the funny faces!!
i have a feeling they replaced the blowup insert with the cushion
ETA i have millie on her tummy and she's spun 45 degress heading for 90 degree turn
Heaven - she is too cute!
Jols - I had to feed her at 4am today but DD1 woke her up as she had a bad dream and was screaming and wanted to come into our bed. So when she came in Miss J woke up and wouldn't resettle. I had to put more drops in her eyes which upset her so I fed her. Poor little thing - she looks so sad with her mucky eye and now she has a runny nose. I am so over my girls beig sick - it seems to be never ending!!
Miss J sat up by herself for almost a minute in the bath last night. She was splashing and laughing so I think she was distracted enough to balance  She hasn't done that on the floor yet. She only lasts about 5 seconds before falling over.
Nai & Jols- Thanks, I think so, pmsl.
I think it's easier for them to sit up with no nappy too, that's how DD first did it. Now she can do it with her nappy on and balance good. After about 5-10 mins when she gets sick of it she just pushes herself backwards (I put a boomerang cushion behind her).
All DD wants to do is roll now, that's all she does all day, LOL. I put her down and she just rolls backwards and forwards continually and moves around in circles. The last few days I have been watching her and she's been getting her knees right up under her. A bit scary, I'm not ready for crawling!! She is getting too clever for her own good. Check this out :o
ETA- is anyone else's bubs just laughing at nothing?? DD does it all the time. She's just laying on her play mat now cracking up, pmsl. Then doing the fake cough and cracking up again.
