Rainforest- Oh, did your username used to be Grace?? I really love that name, obviously, lol. I'm glad we had a girl coz there were no boys names that we really loved.
det- Yeah, I didn't know if I could handle all the washing with the MCNs but it's easy!! And I want to wash them coz they're so cute and I want her to wear them again, hahaha. But bad news is I'm getting addicted and I think I might spend all our money on them, hahaha.
tarkine- Mum bought us a playmat the other weekend too, I can't believe I survived without one either, haha, it's so handy!! Thanks for the info on wk 19, interesting!
shell- hope you're getting some more sleep!! ETA- Oh you posted after I wrote that, lol. Glad she seems to be getting into a routine and sleeping longer!!
OP- lol at you pumping away at the reception. The things we have to do.
RR- read your other thread, sorry the kids are sick, hope you get some more sleep soon!!
mhami- :hello: Well you're good, I can't sit at the computer and BF, she's too heavy for me to hold up, lol. I need my pillow on the lounge!!
Ali- Oh no :( what a horrible night!! Don't you just hate them!! But yay for your step mum!!
Nai- ooh....sounds like maybe teeth, when do they usually get them? Suppose it's all different. Do you have one of those amber necklaces? I've heard they work really well!
Jols- I'm so jealous of you all getting to meet up!!
AFM- Well DD has been sleeping better the last 3 days. Up until 2 months old she used to only wake once a night for feeds but since then has been waking 3 times or more!!!! But I think I've just worked out the problem!! I didn't used to be able to lie down to feed in the beginning coz I couldn't get the attachment right. The last 3 nights I've sat up and she's had a bigger feed and slept for another 4 hrs after her first wake up!! I think when I'm lying down she falls asleep too quick and doesn't get a big enough feed and then wakes up again 1-2hrs later hungry. Now I think about it it was about the time I started lying down to feed she started not sleeping as well. Duh, wish I'd worked it out sooner, hahaha. I hope she keeps this up!! I got 9hrs sleep last night!! (1 wake-up in there).
DD has been having really watery poos lately and I don't know why, maybe something I ate? Is it a problem? She also has some nappy rash :(

yeah that's me heaven :)

Hi ladies
Well Isabel had a two hour sleep this morning! I didn't know what to do with myself, lol! She woke up after 40mins but I kept putting the dummy back in and left her in the cot and she went back to sleep. She's gone down again now and I'll try to resettle again when she wakes. Maybe she's finally getting the sleeping thing!
Now if only she would sleep better at night...
SJ, that sounds great about the longer feeds. Glad that you've worked it out!!
Shell - 5hrs is fab! What a good girl. Now if only the 8.30 screams would stop!
Nai - GL on the teeth hunt! No teeth here yet I'm pretty sure.
Det - no good, your poor chickens!!! Are you going to stay in isolation? Will we see you tomorrow??
RR - glad you had a good time at the meet! Great photos!
Ali, you poor thing, hope you get some better rest tonight xx
Mhami - me too, see below...
Well here's my take on Week 19 and what Isabel is doing:
Begins to undertand that they can reach out and grab a toy - yep
May have trouble sleeping - YEP
maybe shy with strangers - has recently started this thing where when a stranger talks to her, she burrows her head into the shoulder or chest of whomever is holding her!
may demand more attention - definitely - was unhappy on the floor this morning by herself, just wanted Daddy or Mummy to talk to her, hold her
head may need more support - well she's still working on the head control...
much quicker to cry - not really...
may insist on your undivided attention - may always want to be with you - see above!
may lose appetite - not yet...
sleeps poorly - YES
quieter, less vocal - a little...
pronouced mood swings - yep!!
sucks more(thumbs) - definitely!!!
maybe listless - not really...
So possibly we are starting the week 19 thing a little early???

THE twins NEED TO GO TO SCHOOL NOW!!!!!
they must be better as they are driving me insane!!!!!!!!!!!! Fighting with each other and just getting on my nerves!! So far today havent had to medicate them and DD is eating again- so hopefully if they keep improving so much then i can send them to school tommorow. Today is day 5 so i dont think we are contageous anymore- just gotta feel well enough to go now- which i am sure they will be - so far DH, levi and i am still sympton free- just the twins- what do you guys reckon?? Nai?? You are the piggy flu expert! They are still coughing a little but that could last for weeks- knowing how long coughs can last!! Kids bounce up as quick as they bouce down! Every second person i speak to has kids that have been sick with the same symptoms- speading the germs by the sounds of it- it is rampant here!!!!
as predicted last nite just as i was about to go to bed - levi woke for a feed and fed until 5am- ho hum- we were all up at 8am-grr
and could someone please explain to levi that he needs to have a day nap as well as sleep at nite!!!! 10 mins so far today again!!
Poor levi's teeth were annoying him so much yesterday and he was pulling on his ear so much that he managed to split the skin between his ear and his head and his ear has detached itself a little from his head!!!! it even had blood on it!- so i cut down a bandaid and put it over the top and in position with his head again- his first injury! and he did it to himself! Ears are shocking bleeders but heal quickly.
ho hum- as i sit here and slowly go insane!!!!

ok girls, quick one, should I wake Ashlyn up? She has been asleep in her cot since 2pm. Its now 5:20 (almost 3 and a half hours) :o I want her to sleep tonight so what should I do?
She did miss her lunch time sleep. Her morning sleep she slept 9-11am and I woke her up then as we had to go out to mothers group.
-
let her sleep ali, remember sleep creates sleep!! millie slept for 4 hours last week
BBL for personals!!
-
Thankis Jols, She has never had a sleep like this during the day. She normally goes to bed for the night at 6-7pm so I think that might be out the window tonight seeming she is still sleepng from this arvo!
-
-
I seriously dont know what to do with myself. Want to go have a bath but have a feeling she will wake just as I get in. I have even been in there twice kissing her and she is still sleeping.
-
ali how long does she go between sleeps? id put her down as per normal
millie gets up from her last sleep around 6pm and is back down my 7pm!
-
She woke up just after my last post. i bathed her and she;s feeding now, normally 1.5hrs between sleeps. i might try and put her down after this and see how we go
Eta- just got her to sleep after alot of patting!

Hey girls,
Sorry I keep just popping in randomly, I feel like such a lousy contributer and baby buddy! I don't know how you all get the time to post! DP has Leon at the moment so I can try and catch up. It's so good having DP around, he has tomorrow and Thursday off after working 9 days in a row!
Heaven, L's poos have been watery too - like pumpkin soup! Although today they appeared more pastey, but recently, more often than not they're watery...weird. Not sure what that's all about.
Ali, maybe she's making up for the lack of sleep she's had lately. Hope she continues to have nice big blocks of sleep (especially during the night).
Det, omgoodness - Levi did that to his ear?! Poor thing! Not looking forward to teething stage. Hope the twins are right for school tomorrow, seems like you need a break!
OP, yay for Isabel's sleeps!
Shell, that's good that you get a 4 hour block of sleep! So jealous :p Not so good about the lead up to the sleep though...hope she stops the screaming episodes.
Nai, hope the sleeping is better tonight. Maybe she is teething early!
Hi everyone else :)
AFM, still nothing on the contraception front, but don't worry, we haven't had any time to ourselves since I last posted anyway! Still thinking it's unlikely I'm utd and too scared to take a test so I'm just going to continue being ignorant and no more bed time action.
L is having a lot of trouble with his nose still...very noisy breathing and it gets worse at night where he can't breathe at all through his nose. When I feed him I have to pull his cheeks away from his nose so it opens his nostrils up a bit (if that makes sense!) just so he can breathe a bit through his nose. We are going to see a paediatric dermatologist to further investigate his haemangiomas (strawberry marks and the growth in his nose). The one in his nose might have to be removed.
He doesn't seem to have reached some of the milestones you all are talking about. Hasn't rolled over yet, or even tried to lol. Doesn't reach out for toys or anything like that. His neck/head control seems really good though (but what do I know!)
I've sent a letter into work to request longer leave (until mid November, where I'll only go back 2 days) but I might change my mind closer to the date and request even more! I was meant to start back next month but that is just way too soon and I never really imagined how hard it could be to have a baby and how time consuming it really is! PLUS I couldn't be bothered expressing milk lol. But uni starts next month so looking forward to that. I can't believe I miss studying, but I do. Weird. Now that my mat leave pay has run out I am living the poor uni student life, and relying on DP's wage  Now I have to ask to go shopping! Hehe ;)
Anyway, that's all for now. Will try to come back online tomorrow. Hope we all have a good night (unlikely!)
-
holly sophie has a hamageoma on her arm! i hope they sort out leons nose!
glad to 'see' you back! what are you studying?
glad to hear ashlyn went to sleep for you ali!!
millie woke at 6.05pm bathed, fed and went back to bed at 6.50pm!
-
grrr- just looked up the websites and apparenty its 7 days isolation with piggy disease- grr!!!
so i guess no school for twins again tommorow
I am slowly going to end up in the nut house!!!!
-
oh gee det id be going insane too! :o i feel for you been tired ,having a non sleeping baby and two kids who are bored!
-
and the best part is that they would be OK for school on friday- except its a statewide curriculum day and THERE IS NO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
-
Bummer Det, plus cold winter weather means that you can't even send them into the backyard.
Holly - Funny that you say how time consuming a bub is. It is so true, but you know what? You get used to it, and by the time the second one comes along, wven when they are unsettled, they don't seem as hard. I really want to go back to work now. But the sort of work that I do really requires at least 3 days a week, and I am not wanting more than 2. Funny that I want to go back. Last time I didn't go back till J was 15 months.
Ali - I hope she behaves for you tomight,
OP - Glad you have seen some improvement.
Shell - I hope you get some improvement oon. How is Ash going? Any better?
Ok - Thats all from me for tomight. I am tired. E has already woken once tonight, as her nose is so blocked. I had to suction it out with the fess thingy. Ewwwww. Poor little poppit, I think I am in for a long one tonight.
