Babies born~January 16th-31st 2010 #1

Hi All,

hope you are doing well. We have had a bad week of colds following DS's first half day in day care! that was not so fun, but he makes me laugh - sounds like Darth Vader when he breathes his nose is so clogged up. then DH got it too....talk about 2 males with man flu!

Otherwise DS is 8 months and 3 weeks, sitting up by himself, not crawling yet, but sits with the splits and moves around backwards. He loves his food and has 5 teeth so far. He giggles and babbles alot - such a pleasure to be/have around. This is why we have kids....

I stopped BF around 7 1/2 months and i hate to say it but since then, he sleeps 12 hours a night without a peep - even with his recent teething and ailments. I'd like to think it wasn't the quality of my milk, but breaking the habit of eating when night waking.

Any way - hope this finds you all well and enjoying similar wonderful experiences to me.

How's everyone doing?

V is still getting more nutrition from BM than solids, but I'm OK with it. Would be more annoying if I was at work full time by far. He has had heaps of colds from daycare, I think we're nearly through the worst of it... but I think that every week. He's working on his third and fourth teeth, so that made this week rough.

Otherwise he is very happy, loving and cheerful. He zooms all over the place crawling and crusing and is just starting to get the idea that maybe one day soon he will stand on his own. I love taking him in to see his Dad when his Dad sleeps late, because he smiles and crows in excitement.

Hi Girls,

It has been ages since I ventured on to bellybelly ... life just keeps me busy I think and when I do sit down, it is normally to facebook for 5 mins here and there.

All going relatively well here. We had a wonderful weeks break on the Gold Coast and I love it there! So relaxing, we walked everywhere and managed to go to Movieworld, Wet'n'wild and Seaworld twice. Kids were pretty good actually. Mia come down sick the 3rd to last day we were there and tonsillitis has consumed our life since with Tay getting sick!

Tay had a great 3rd birthday and had a fairy party this year. I even managed to make her a butterfly cake and am slowly learning that if I try I can make a birthday cake look 'ok'! She has been toilet trained now for a few months, she is doing fantastically. The hard road to get her to finally wear knickers and go to the big girls toilet was long, but once she got it it all happened within a day or two! I think after this lot of pullups I will concentrate on night training. She is dry 8 times out of 10, so that is a plus!

Mia is doing great, she starts kinder next year (again!) and is looking forward to it. Although I think she talks more about going to school than she does kinder. The teachers said that would happen, so we were prepared for it and still we are happy with out decision to pull her out of kinder this year.

Luka is also going really well. He is almost 10 months and is a big healthy boy. He is trying hard to crawl, rocks on all fours and rolls and pushes himself along with his feet and pulls with his hands. I guess he is crawling in a fashion! I would say he is crawling, just not the normal way really. He is a chatty boy and says lots of words including mum, dad, hi, hello, mia, bye, bub and a few others that are not so clear.

That is about it for my update. I think the more kids we have the busier we are all getting, so maybe that is why it is a little quieter in here these days!

Hey'as going. Good to see you are all well.

Chloe is getting along well to. She now has 6 teeth and looks like the next 2 are on their way already again, Niagara Falls has unleashed again. Hair is growing and may actually outgrow her sisters.

She still doesn't technically crawl yet either. Once we worked out her hard surface issue, she became more comfy on her belly, and has moved back onto the tiles, but since she's had a couple of stacks she is very cautious, she started army crawling probably cause there is no where to fall from there. It looks hilarious, cause she doesn't do it normally, more like a spastic worm, the bum goes up and down, the toes push and both arms go in and out together. She's been able to sit up for a couple of months, so she also bum shuffles, lay down, sits up bum shuffles. Recently decided to attempt proper crawling but goes crab style sideways, with one leg straight with foot on the ground and the other spins around from sitting to pushing to sitting. One day this child will crawl like normal but is now pulling herself up on the furniture to standing and trying to get along, so I think she might just skip learning to crawl properly.

Still dairy intolerance, I'm still bf her but if I eat to much lactose or dairy it makes her poo badly. BLS is going great guns, she chows down most meals we have, atm her fav is mango, scrambled egg, porridge and mummies lasagne.

She can wave hi and bye, so we've started her baby signs, just with milk, eat and sleep. So far she is getting milk, and sometimes does a little hand/finger wave at me when I ask her.

Amelia is doing really well to. Toilet training is stillllllllllllllll going slowllllllllllllyyyyyy, almost 6 months. Some days she is in to it, others not. She is a very cautious child, so its her nature, but it can be very frustrating. Im just following her lead but not game enough to put the childcare through it yet. She looses most her friends in prekindy next year cause they move up to kindy, but they did put her in the prekindy room early about 6 months ago, so the new kids will be closer to her age. She loves it better than toddler room, I think more stimulating for her.

AFM still going at uni, was keeping me busy 40 hours a week. Was suppose to have an exam this morning but got about 3 to 4 hours sleep as miss may decided to be sick and keep me up all night, DF just happened to be on night shift so wasnt here to help so I could sleep. Going to have to do a deferred exam which isnt till June :o Was very upsetting cause I only had to make 11% to pass. Back into loving my photography over the next couple of weeks while I have short break, have the gf's coming over for a girls day/night and doing a fantasy shoot with them, should be fun:dance:

How is everyone doing? The babies here start having their birthdays at the end of the week! What do you have planned?

My husband is travelling for work across V's birthday, we're really sad about it. But we're having a small party with my parents on his birthday and a bigger party in February with the whole family. Since he won't have a religious ceremony we are going to have a formal-ish bit of the party with speeches and so on.

V is half way through the transition from crawling to walking. He walks short distances and crawls long ones. He's starting to get more clingy, I think the holidays and illness in the family really threw his routine and his security off. I hope he gets it back in February and March when all the travel stops and things go back to normal.

We are well. We have had a very stressful week. We live about 10 minutes from the Ipswich CBD, luckily we are up hill and the floods did not reach us. Unfortunately we have many friends who weren't so lucky. Instead of present for DD1 we will be asking for donations towards the flood appeal. We have so much already and still has plenty of toys and clothes, it seems selfish to buy her excess when so many now have nothing. I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to their little ones Big 1's.
