Hi Alls
Well we've had a pretty poor couple of weeks, first we all come down with a vomiting bug, I was so over being spewed on  after 2 days of it from both kids, while doing it myself, dh just started new job the same week so couldnt even take time off to help. Then we get over that and we get a head cold :cold:, Amelia is now on antibiotics cause it got infected to. We had no internet for a week because our fibre box went down. But we are all getting better now.
Chloe ended up not being able to get her needles cause she was still snotty and had a red throat, she is now 7.25kg and 64cm. We've also had some trouble with her no 2's, from about 2 1/2 months they started getting the occasional green stool, its slowly gotten worse so I tried block feeding to reduce her lactose intake but it hasn't helped, she is all over the place but none of them are normal anymore. So dr has put me on a lactose free diet to try and reduce the lactose in my milk, looks like she is has a sensitivity to it just like her sister did. Its not upsetting her yet and she is still gaining lots of weight. I've been on my diet change only a few days and it can take up to two weeks to see a difference.
As for solids, for over 2 weeks she had become unsettled, feeding more regularly, like every 2 1/2 hours all day and night, and tongue munching, so I stretched her out to the day she was 4 months and gave her some farex. She chowed it down like a hungry beast :D, it only took 4 mouthfuls before she was mouth wide open and grabbing the spoon, then cracked a patty when I stopped, so me think she was definitely ready to start solids  and after a few days she went back to her normal routine. She knows exactly whats going on now when she goes in the high chair, and she now just about sucks it off the spoon and chews really well.
Kaz - it was more like 6 mths with Amelia to, she started farex at 4 1/2 because she was doing the same as Chloe but I wasn't confident starting her yet until my baby nurse convinced me it was okay and she probably wanted it, but thats all I gave her till 6mths, she was a little slower on the swallowing thing than Chloe though.
She's rolling over sometimes to , the clown spends most of her day on her side grunting and carrying on until she flips, then her head pops up with a cheeky look of satisfaction on her face...love it, then spends a little while playing on her belly but cant get back.
Hope everyone else is going fine to. Better go, I have to look at course to enrol in this semester as uni.

Hi all!
I'm new to BB and Ginger told me about the Baby Buddies....my DS was born 23rd Jan at 3am after 3 hours of labour (ala natural and no time for drugs ;( ) His original due date was 17th Jan. He weighed a whopping 9lb 9oz... We'd love to be part of your baby buddies month if thats ok with you lovely ladies.:p
-
Welcome Gerry :) Your birth sounds like mine, although my recorded labour time was 1hr 45min and pushing less than 2, and Chloe was 9lb1oz, you might be interested in knowing its called a precipitate labour and birth. It happened that fast I went from 4 to 10cm in 20min and had her in the shower. Unfortunately though I got severe post labour pains cause my body went into shock.

Thanks Studymum, nice to know there are other people who have similar experiences! I'm just worried about round two....when we eventually get there (not trying now) but definately planning the next.
I also had complications after the birth - had a heamorhage and 3rd degree tear...fun and games can someone tell me again why we do this! lol - that's right that gorgeous little bundle of joy you hold and he gazes helplessly up at you. hmmm.
Do any of the baby buddies ever meet up in person? :p

Hi all, it's so quiet in here!!! just checking in to update you all on how we are going. Kaleb is doing well now he is on prescription formula but is still catnapping which drives me crazy cause i have a cranky baby all day everyday.
I have to go see a specalist because when i go to the toliet number 2 it's like someone is slising me up :( and i bleed so bad.
I also have to see a gyno because i still after nearly 5 months have no sensation to pee :( i can't believe i still haven't got it back this makes me not want another baby cause of all this trauma :(
-
It is quiet here now...
Things are going pretty well for us. We may have a childcare place for V a couple of days a week. A bit sad sending him off, but we really don't have much chance for him to socialise with other kids as he grows, so it will have its upsides too.
-
Hey guys - finally got my internet and stuff sorted. Moving is crap.
I hope everyones well.
I've been having a few problems. Well, a lot of problems with breastfeeding. So needless to say we're starting Nao on formula. My supply has been dwindling and Naomi has been very vocal about it.
GabberQueeN - I really hope things go well for you. It sounds really awful. :(
Gerry - Welcome hun. :)

Hi all,
V started in long daycare Mon & Tue from this week. MUCH more successful than we'd thought. He just would not take a bottle in any way shape or form, but finally a parenting forum suggested that since he is an older baby now and I have a fast letdown that probably he needed something with a good flow. So he's on valve-less sippy cups and took 400mL both days.
We're yet to start solids with him, waiting until he's 6 months old. How's everyone else going with feeding?
-
Yes it has been quiet in here. I've been trying to adjust to studying with 2 kids now so its taking alot of my time up, at least now I transferred to external I don't have to drive anywhere and Amelia is at daycare 2 days for me to do it in almost peace, Chloe is just a wiggling around blob so she doesn't harass me to stop studying.
Gabber - :comfort: I know what the number 2's situation feels like, I am back to the dr this week cause the last lot of stuff she gave me hasn't worked either, it is sooooo painful it brings tears to your eyes, 5 months of it just plain sucks. Sorry to hear the other problem hasn't resolved itself, I hope you find answers soon.
Liminal - by 5 months Amelia was on Nuby sippy bottle as well, she was also drinking like 300mls in a sitting though to lol:rolleyes: and took it in a couple of minutes, she eventually broke the semi-leak proofness of them and they were like a tap, but she liked it like that.
I am now on a dairy free diet, anything I have goes straight through Chloe and makes her grumpy :shakehead: I miss my dairy cause I lovvvveeeee it. We are still going slowly on solids, she was only having rice cereal till beginning this week. We've decided to use the 'baby led weaning' approach cause she seems to prefer to feed herself and doesnt like puree. So we started her on pumpkin pieces at night, she sits in her high chair, picks them up and absolutely loves eating them, it makes a huge mess though, but she throws a tantrum if she looses them  and she was some wholemeal bread fingers for morning tea. She is trying to get into everything and my dr laughed and said see you when she is crawling in a couple of months , she literally throws herself around like a nutter, her latest game is to go backwards and hang upside down while you hold her. She dropped her evening cluster feeding but picked up a midnight feed to make up for it.
Hope everyone else is going okay, have to run, she is falling asleep on the floor, random :D

Hey guys, yes we have been slack haven't we. I started back at uni this semester, so busy busy busy. DF got laid off so its been rather stressful to, then this week his car broke down:wall:
Chloe is going well, she is a porka, now 8.8kg and 71cm, she's just learnt to sit up by herself, I still don't trust her to stay upright so she is surrounded by pillows still. And she has two bottom teeth come through  but I did get my first ouchy munch this morning when I was feeding her
Smithy - Chloe has been sick for almost 3 weeks now, first she has a growth spurt, then first week she got a virus, with runs, then that started clearing up and she started to teeth, got the runs again with that, and then she got another virus with high temps and runs again  so she is all screwed up to. She'd started feeding every 3 hours 24/7 with the growth spurt, but when she got sick she slept heaps and got her feeds confused, so she was feeding every 3 hours at night and 6 during the day. It took me 2 weeks to get her back to normal, which is still pretty crappy, I had to cc her. She stopped sleeping through at 4 1/2 months, probably cause she stopped cluster feeds, now she goes to bed at 7, wakes at 9 feed, 12 feed, 5/6 feed, then 3 hourly all day. She finally takes both sides so has increased her feed sizes but I am still waiting for her to drop a feed  She's having 2 or 3 sleeps a day either 2x40min plus 1.5hr or just 1x40 and a 2.5hr. Miss Amelia has now decided that wake up time is 6am so I am :asleep: cause I am used to being awake till 11 or 12. It sucks when they get sick cause it throws everything out, hope it gets better soon:hug:
We started baby led weaning with her solids to, and she is going great, she self feeds herself toast for breakfast with either vegemite or avocado, sucks on apple or pear during the day, and feeds herself broccoli, carrot, cauli, potato, pumpkin for dinner and last night started zuccinni which she loved. She actually prefers broccoli, and hunts it out as soon as she see it on her tray.
Well I hope everyone else is doing great, hope to hear from you all.

We've all been so sick the last few weeks! I had bronchitis and gastro in the same week, and so did V. Is there anyone else around without a local support network? We have no idea who to call if we're both too sick to care for V.
Otherwise, things are going slowly. V is not much for food yet, but we're trying every day.
-
I don't know what happened, but I can't access the last lot of posts every one has done in the last couple of weeks, including my own. Has anyone else been having problems. I've emailed support but haven't got a response.
-
Hey Studymum, yep i'm ahving the same issue. the last post i can see is the 10th August...
-
Hey ladies, just jumping threads again musta replied in here once because im getting notifications for it. BB was down a little while ago for a bit and as a result they lost 2 weeks worth of posts
-
Well there you go, and here I was thinking I was loosing the plot and had read something that doesn't exist:doh:
I saw there was some clever crawling bubs  no stopping them now.
We have worked out that Chloe was refusing belly time and was not pushing up or moving yet all because she doesn't like hard surfaces  It made me start thinking cause when you hold her she climbs you like a monkey and can push up, reach, hang and has great muscle tone. So I have made her a couple of cushy mats and now she is wiggling around like a pro and getting up on all fours, rolling everywhere and the second she gets of the mat, it stops  Issue's much, she's not going to get far considering most the house is tiled.
Last night we got our first 6 hour stint between feeds in months  hopefully she keeps that up.
