Minny - i'd love another one (i think lol) but DH isn't convinced (yet lol). i don't know how I'd go having them close together though!
Mine are 19 months 3 weeks apart and I'm finding it better than expected. It can be challenging at times because my oldest is still a baby really. But it's all good and I think they are going to grow up really close friends. I can already see the bond forming between them.
ZF - we are undecided on number 3 but it may be on the cards. If so, I'd like a similar age gap again. I like the idea of having them all close together because all the stages they go through are close together and I think that would be easier to handle. Full on, yes but it's not dragged out forever iykwim.
Mine are 23 months apart. It is getting easier and A1 loves A2 now but I think 2 kids is plenty for me. DH keeps joking about another one and sometimes I think he is half serious.....
Hi all been ages since I posted in here, hope all are well.
My boy's are 18 months and 4 days apart. No more for us, I would maybe contemplate another but DH doesn't want more.
We had our MCHN check up a few weeks ago all was great (cant remember if I posted then or not) DS2 was 5.4kg. He was fine with immunisations. BF is going well, I am still tandem feeding which gets full on and tiring some days.
Take care
xoxo
We have quite a few in here close in age. DD and DS are almost 2 years apart which was closer than I had planned (oops!) but hasn't been as hard as I was expecting. We definitely want another (and maybe even a 4th - I must be totally mad!) but I think I will aim for closer to a 2 1/2 to 3 year age gap next time. I would like to start working again, part time only, as I never had a chance after having DD. We moved to Vic from Perth just before DD turned 1 and I was busy finding a house and getting settled into the new town, getting DD into daycare etc, and when I was finally about to start looking for work I found out I was preggers again!
Eluned - Where in the West are you from?
Good to hear about the great growth - sounds like all the kids are doing excellently. DS has been a bit unsettled the last couple of days and I have hardly had any sleep. I think he has a bit of a cold or something, and I hope it passes quickly!
Owwwee DD slept from 9pm to 4:30am which was great but oh my boobies are sore!!
Bun, I'm from Perth (Ballajura area).
feeb, that's awesome you're tandem feeding! Well done :)
Hi everyone,
Havent had a chance to post in here for awhile although I have been reading everyones posts. Sounds like everyone is doing really well.
I took Maddie to Melbourne and Adelaide last week to catch up with friends and family and it was great to have lots of people around to help me out with her, I really miss that when I am at home as DH leaves for work early and doesnt get home till around 6:30pm which means I have her on my own for about 12 hours a day and even when he does come home I am still the one settling her down to sleep.
Maddie is now 6.3kgs and 62cms. I gave up the breastfeeding a few weeks ago because i was express breast feeding and it was just getting too hard. I put her on S26 to begin with but she got really constipated so I swapped to Karicare and she has been great on it. I felt so bad when she was in so much pain after i put her on the formula so I am so relieved that the Karicare is kinder to her.
I am still struggling to get her down to sleep, even when I do get her down she can sometimes wake up 20mins to half an hour later, its never guaranteed that she will stay asleep. Everyone I speak to tells me she has wind pains and that is what is waking her up. I am using Colic Calm and that seems to help her bring up her wind.
Anyway I better get to bed, Maddie was sleeping from 11pm to 5am ( we even had one night where she went to 6am) but this week she has been waking at 3am again, must be a growth spurt.
Oh one more thing, after Maddie had her vaccinations that night she vomited and when i went in to her in the morning there was some actual yellow chunks in the vomit which i thought was weird, has anyone ever seen this before? could be cause she is formula fed I guess??
Hope everyone is well.
Nightly night. xx
hello all
ive been with out internet for far to long  and just found this thread:dance:
my precious baby girl was born 12.1.2010 Nikkita Lexy All went well was a quick easy labour with only gas for comfort :D
i also have a beautiful baby boy whos just turned 2 ( he will always be my baby)
All is going well and i seem to be managing ok. glad to hear everyone is going well
hey girlies, sorry I've been MIA! I have been lurking and reading posts, just not adding to them because ... well I'm just being lazy really ^^;;
Party-of-five, jackson is a bit of a catnapper during the day too, but sleeps well at night so I'm not complaining here!! He's not so much cranky during the day tho, he's mostly inquisitive... seriously, I wonder if he could open his little eyes any wider some days.
Leah, woo on the feeding. Jacks is demand feed, I've given up counting... but yetserday he seems to go awhile between feeds... I think he went through a bit of a spurt last week because he seemed to be attached to me allllllll day. I was nackered... infact I think I'm still trying to catch up on my energy levels! I've started taking my multivitamins again to compensate (which I know I shouldn't have stopped taking in the first place  Glad you're back into a normal routine now... did you get hit with a time difference? (not sure where you live sorry!!) that's the worst I think, trying to get your head around the different times... and I don't think it'd be fun with a bubba either!! Oh, and softdrink gets Jackson too...
Minny, go the boob juice!! ;)
tracehb, i feel your pain! DH leaves for work at 4.30 in the morning and gets home at 6. And now he's started doing a training and assessing course so he's studying when he gets home... so basically I get to see him in bed... snoring ><;; But he works hard I guess, and i can always lob at Mum's for a day if I need some extra help. Thank god for mummy's!! :P
AFM, well on the subject of extra kiddies we've always wanted 2, but DH is a little toey about TTC a second as we could end up with three :D Twins run in my family on every second generation, and it's my gen's turn! Ha! So, that'll be interesting. I don't think we'll try until jacksons about 3 or so.
As for Jackson in general he's awesome! Growing like a week (as Leah always says about little Z!) and is a pretty happy little kid... you just gotta look at him and he cracks a grin. He's started to giggle now, which is adorable. Although he's only ever giggled at me once, his little cousins get the rest!! Isn't it funny how they can pick up on other little kids?
Well better get back to it! motherhood never ends!!
Mwah! xxx
Hi All,
Wow, I really feel out of the loop. Just reading the last few pages, and everyone seems to be going really fine.
Darcey had her immunisations last Tuesday, she ended up with a temperature, hoarse voice, and really out of sorts for around 3 to 4 days. The temperature was starting to worry me, and then it just dropped off completely. She was weighed at the immunisation, and weighed in at 4.4kg!!! Yay, my little girl is nice, healthy weight for her 9 weeks, although on the small side, she's healthy. I'm really excited that she's wearing 000 clothes now.
We've had a horrible week really, from Tuesday onwards. I ended up in emergency on Tuesday, followed up with surgery on Friday. It was an absolute panic station. Not about the surgery, but about BF'ing. BF'ing has been going so well, and then I needed to start to express (first time for everything) and then the panic set in, the milk disappeared :o. Managed to express around 300ml over 36 hours, which was really hard work. The tears were flowing down my cheeks, kept thinking what a terrible mother I was to go into hospital and leave my baby with no ready supply.
Darcey was also going to 'room in' with me at the hospital, but in the end, I couldn't even hold her *big sobs from me and her* I just felt so inadequate and helpless. My DH looked after her, with some great help from my Mum, who sterilised the bottles, bought some ready made formula etc. First day back at home was horrible, no booby juice to feed her, and my DH didn't buy anymore formula, as he thought I would be producing enough by then. It wis a nightmare.
The milk has come back in now , but emotionally, I'm not really doing so well. DH is back at work today, and my Mum is coming around after lunch today. I'm so sore, feel so drained, blood pressure is all over the place, and I'm feeling very weepy. I hope this isn't PND settling in. It's just so frustrating, to get over the c-section (10 weeks ago today my beautiful girl was born), only to have this happen.
I'm going to make a cup of tea before Darcey wakes up, and take 5 minutes to think how damn lucky I am to be here, and to have such a beautiful daughter.
Take Care, sorry for the selfish post (woe is me)
Petal
Petal so sorry to hear about your surgery, that would be so hard with a little one....makes me feel bad for complaining about a few bad days. Big hugs and i hope you feel better soon.
Well Maddie was an absolute angel today, she slept for 3 hours solid while i was out from 11 - 2 and one of those hours i was doing post natal yoga while she slept in her pram so i got to have a nice relaxing stretch without having to worry about her. She also went down at 7pm but then woke up 30mins later, this happens a lot. I went in to try and settle her but her legs where coming up to her tummy so i picked her up and she let out a massive burp, still took us another hour to get her down bec then she was hungry again after getting rid of the wind. I cant wait till she outgrows the wind stage, fingers crossed for around 3-4mths max.
Hi Shantelle, glad you and Nikkita are doing well.:)
Hi all.
petal - so sorry to hear about the surgery and the trouble with your milk, that must have been terrible. Try to rest up sweetie, sounds like you have had a lot to deal with and you need to take care of yourself. Keep talking to us if you feel like PND may be coming on, it helps to get it all out and we are here for you
Teagz - I can understand your DH being a little worried about twins - that would be such a handful!! I know someone who got twins when going for their third and last baby and they ended up with 4 under 4, eek!!
shantelle - congrats!!
trace - sounds like Maddie was an angel on your trip.Glad to hear you had a good time. It is great to be around family so you can get some help. I am really missing that this time around as we moved interstate a year ago so there is not so much support here. Sorry I am not sure about the vomiting but I would say it is probably just a reaction to the vaccinations.
Eluned - wow what an amazing sleep!! I am from Perth too, we used to live in Atwell. How did you go in the storms? Sounds like they were pretty wild.
We are still going well, DS is growing like a weed as well and his sleep is not too bad now after a couple of unsettled nights. Generally he has two night feeds and the only trouble can be getting him back down when he has wind. I was up with him for ages last night trying to get the wind out but other nights have been fantastic. I am soooo in love with him and his smiles just make me melt. He has really started chatting to us too and coos away for ages when he is in the right mood. He is such a good little boy and I am really enjoying being his mum. Of course I adore my DD just as much but she was a very challenging baby so I am really enjoying being a new mum this time :)
Petal - what trauma you've just been through. I am so excited for you that your milk came back though! did you have to do anything for it to come back or it just did?
we are going well here. some nights Caroline sleeps from 8pm to 5 or 6am and other nights she'll wake anywhere between 1 and 4am for a feed then back to bed. I can handle getting up once a night so no complaints here!!
I uploaded a video to you tube just to see if i could lol if anyone's bored and wants to check it out it is here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch_private...iT4SLqNLORre9w
Teagz - I have twins in my family also, my mum is a twin, my cousin had twins and my dad had twins with his second wife. ALL are fraternal so that's the hereditary kind! so far I've been lucky to have two singletons but yeh you hear all the time that just when you try for 'one more' that's when the two eggs slip out lol so yeah - i'm trying to convince him to have just one more lol so it would only serve me right!!! :o maybe I should quit while i'm ahead!
Welcome shantelle!! :) We were in the same belly buddies I think, seems so long ago now!
trace, how is the sleep going? I hope it's getting better for you
petal, I'm so happy for you that your milk came back in and that you're recovering from surgery. I hope things continue to get better
Bun, I have a few friends in the Atwell area. We survived the storms ok thankfully! There was a lot of damage over Perth as I'm sure you probably saw on the news. We didn't even get hail at my house! Seemed to hit in certain pockets over Perth. Now we are back up to low 30 degree temps and very high humidity yuk!
illeyena, tried to have a look at your video but you tube said it was private.
We have twins in our family too! My grandmother had fraternal twins, so I guess it's my generations turn as well! I would love to have twins, but now that I already have 2 kidlets, I'm not sure about turning that into 4 of them! LOL...
I weighed DD yesterday and she's 4.66kg. Still a little one, but still growing nicely. She has been such a treasure and I think we are slowly starting to get into some routine, well in the mornings anyway. In the afternoons we are still a bit hit and miss.
Well, she is waking for her feed so gotta run. Hope everyone is well! :)
tracehb - so glad you enjoyed your visiting, it's wonderful having people around to fuss about them and give you some time.
DD1 used to get some yellow chunks when she swapped to formula so i think that could be a possibility.
Maddie is growing so well, keep up the wonderful work.
Shantelle - welcome and congrats on your little girl.. we were in the same belly buddies group, so nice to hear your doing well.
Teagz - Jackson is so damn cute, keep up the great work hun.
I am glad we wont be going back for anymore, we have twins on mums side, dads side and Marks mums side... if we went back for 1 more we would prob get 2 (that happened to my cousin)
Petal - so sorry to hear about your surgery, when A was just over 5mths i had to have my gallbladder removed we finally got her back on the (.)(.) only to realise a stone was stuck and i ended up in hosp for 6 days on a drip.. my milk supply was GONE and i couldn't get it back :crying: so glad your persevering and hope your recovery is going well.
To everyone else HELLO and hope your going well, post is getting a bit long so will do more later.
AFM - we spent some more time up the house, 1 night was just the girls and I which was fun except Z decided to have a hissy from 2am til 4am then ended up having BOTH girls asleep in my bed (a blowup)
She is VERY alert and so strong in her head, she is rolling from belly to back and on her back is getting up on her side, lets hope she doesn't figure it out JUST YET.
Can't wait to get her weighed, i can't believe she is 11wks already, it's gone so so quickly.
Well i better get going, got washing etc to do from out at the house and going to make A some apple & sultana mini muffins, if anyone has muffin flavor ideas please checkn out this thread and let me know.... https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...n-mixture.html
Also i have updated the names and dates of birth, is there anyone i have missed?
Does anybody want their real name listed that isn't already there, also please feel free to PM me your real name and FB address if you like and i can make a list of those too.
If you want any other children listed i am happy to make a list also of other children with your username. i am a lists person as i'm sure you can guess...

Hi Girls,
It's been so long since I posted in here so I wont try and catch up on the personals, just wanted to say hi and that I hope everyone's doing well!
Can't believe how quickly time has flown! Austin will be 3 months soon :o were did that time go??
We've been doing lots of reading lately, Austin's really taken a liking to all of his shiny books. I read and he smacks the pages and giggles :D he's also discovered how to yell, lol if he needs to get my attention he'll just squeal and when I come start giggling, super cute!
Take care ladies, hopefully I'll fall back into the swing of this thread ;)
Lindsay xx
Caroline rolled over tonight, so excited lol she looked petrified after she did it though and cried... possibly wondering how the heck she ended up face up!
illeyena - awsome go caroline it cracks me up everytime seb rolls over and the face he pulls.
Teagz - i dont have twins on my side or my partners side....but would LOVE twins...crazy yes :o
Petal - glad you are recovering and the milk supply came back!
zavara - seb was 8 pound 11 when born if you wanna add that it :)
Ummm i cant remember what i else i was gonna write :wall:
Sebs got what seems to be reflux all of a sudden, havent been to the docs but have tryed all the usual things until someone recommended infant gaviscon. I have been giving him a dose before bed and the difference is amazing....although apparently it can cause constipation so gotta watch out for that. Hopefully it will start to settle down again, gonna take him to the chiro for some sessions there as well to help.
:o babies rolling...Im thinking Milly needs to spend more time on the floor but she is an easy target for Lucy then(big footed clumsy cuddley sister = squished Milly)
Now that Milly is spending more time chatting and giggling(so cute) she is sleeping heaps better  some nights she sleeps thru other nights she wakes 1-2 times for a bottle.
:o we are going away camping for easter, not ruffing it we have a cabin at a caravan park, Im feeling abit overwhelmed at the thought of packing for 5 people for 5 days especialy when the two littlest ladies need the most stuff!!
My DH goes for the snip in a few weeks :crying: 3 is deffinetly(sp?) enough for me but its still very sad iykwim.
Oopps so sorry for the selfish post...Milly has woken for her bedtime bottle ill get back tomorrow to do some personals
Party of five - Caroline hasnt had much tummy time she has previously hated it so much!! she still isnt a fan but her one off roll over has inspired me to do tummy time more often. have fun camping, the packing sounds like a BIG job.
DS2 hardley has any floor time as if DS1 is up he trys to pick him up or sit on him or throw toys at him!!!
DS2 is very smiley and chatty thought very cute!!
Hope you are all doing well.
I have the same issue with floor time here. I feel like DS should be on the floor more often but it's too dangerous with DD around!! She stands on him, throws things at him, trips over him, tries to pick him up, bites him.....
Glad im not the only one :D
Our biggest floor time issue is space, atm we're in a very small 2bedroom unit, thank heavens we're moving next week or Austin would have had to learn to crawl doing 3-point turns!!
Another one here who's first born likes to "Play" with the baby. I try and do tummy time with DD2 lying on her tummy on me or holding her upright etc. He head control is getting stronger.
Everyone who is on disposable nappies, which ones are you using? We started on huggies with DD1 then discovered Aldi and were happily using them until DD1 decided on being a brand girl and saw elmo on a nappy in a catalogue. She now wont wear anything other than pampers which I dont particularly like.
With DD2, she is in huggies at the moment because we have managed to get them cheap. So she is in the Huggies... Crawlers. We opened that box this morning. We will be putting her into Aldi when that runs out
Yeah we are a bit slack on the floor time as well. DS tries to huggle her or pulls her arms and legs. I really have to watch him with her. But she loves him, she will just gaze at him and smile. Too cute.
Jen - we tried pampers because I got a pack of 40 for $8 but I agree they aren't great. they're soft but just a hint of wee and they're soaked. I liked Aldi but had already stocked up on baby love which are also good.
Jen, we use huggies as well. I found the other brands leaked.
Huggies and pampers here, no issues with either here, I find pampers hold a lot of wee.
were huggies too the only thing i dont like about them is infant dont come in boxes and im not ready to have her in crawlers yet(makes her seam to old ) ive tried pampers id use them again but no need at the moment...i got Lucys huggies toddler on clearence for 25dollars a box(old box without the 9extra) so we have bulk
Using Huggies here too, but I've just recently purchased some bambooty MCN's that we'll be using for daytime when we move into our new place.
We use cloth most of the time, not a fan of huggies way over priced for what they are. Aldi nappies are good at about this age the newborns were a tad big when seb was little. Otherwise i just brought some cheapy pampers ones as they were $8 for when i cbf with cloth lol and overnight sometimes as well. So far they hold a fair bit.
Minny, I wouldn't mind twins... providing that they're as well behaved as Jackson is XD He's so cruisey, i've been spoilt.
Lately his sleeping routine is getting further and further between wakeups. Last night he slept solid from 7.30 til 8. See, I'm spoilt XD He's started to suck his thumb, so last night I left him unswaddled so he'd be able to get to it, which i think contributed to the extra long sleep... not that I'm complaining!
With floor time, I'm afraid to admit Jackson gets a fair bit - (Just gotta watch out for the dog! He's pretty good tho, he'll check a room out now before he goes bounding in) - He'll have most (aka, all of them...) of his naps during the day on the floor on his belly (naughty I know, but he loves it, and sleeping on your back all the time would suck) usually after he wakes up he'll have a kick around then squawk to tell me he's all done ^^; He's getting pretty good with his head, he can hold his weight on both arms and get part of his chest off the ground now, when we carry him we usually hold him upright (he HATES being cradled like a baby because then he might miss something, you know) and he has quite good head control until he gets excited then it gets a bit out of control! We call him our little prairie dog, that's what he looks like when he pops his little head up :)
Nappies, we use huggies and cloth. Have to say that my cloth dream is slightly shattered as I don't have enough, only ten, and not enough $$ now to stock up on more. But, huggies are going good, I've never tried anything else tho...
Wow Teagz, your little one is doing so good!! lol at the praire dog :D
I've really got to get Austin onto some more tummy time
Teagz - Caroline sleeps practically on her tummy all the time. she starts on her side (HATES sleeping on her back) and ends up on her tummy. My son was the same. Her neck control is pretty good though and she does the prairie dog thing too and HATES to be cradled, has to be held upwards. My nosey little parker hehe
