good morning beautiful ladies with beautiful babies
Milly has just got her second tooth but she looks so cute because she has had one for a while now its queit big so i think she looks like a cabbage patch doll when she smiles with her one tooth grin
Im battling to get Milly to drink more atm she is just wanting food so some days she is only having about 300mls of formula...she is a bit of a piggy and eats just about anything we are having. we are off to bali on thursday...im so looking forward to the break but Im a bit nervous about leaving the kids with the MIL!!! We are just going for 4 nights but im sure that will feel like forever but it will be nice ive never been to Bali before.
Milly is starting to sit a little now but she prefers to do circle work on the mat, Im forever picking up little things now that I have to worry about her getting into stuff that Lucy has left out
I went last time and got tons of awesome clothes, excellent quality and brands (Sprout, Pumpkin Patch, Esprit etc) and paid at most about $2 each! around the last hour the bargains are even better. I got 20 pieces of clothing for $15! (entry is $2 to get in I think?). Anyways, hopefully some of you guys can check it out and grab some awesome bargains! ) it's like a bunch of garage sales in one spot!
Jennie13 - YAY for teeth... Z still doesn't have hers, think she's going to be like her sisters
Haven't turned the carseat yet but will once she reaches the magic 8kg mark, although i have a turn-a-to and once it's forward facing it doesn't turn BUT would give more room in the passenger seat, so not sure yet.
EGG - i was told not until 12mths as it's a high risk food, they say try cooked egg yolk just before 12mths then if no reaction try cooked egg white.
Ava reacted to egg when she had it but grew out of it, she was fine with it cooked in foods but not on it's own!
Illeyena - i wish z would roll, lazy little girl will just sit, sit and more sit.. i can't wait for her to crawl, i think she's one of those kids that wants to be on the move and until she is she's going to be very grumpy and time consuming.
That market looks good, is over an hr from here though am heading to the wallan market tomorrow if it's not raining... it's not a bad little market really.
PO5 - hope your having fun in Bali you lucky lucky girl! fill us in once your back, hopefully you take lots of pics and pop them up on FB.
AFM - Z seems to be having smaller more frequent reactions so i am starting to think maybe it is dairy, maybe she has been so grizzly most of her life due to an intolerance and now that she ingested it directly herself she's reacting when i have it??? i hope not, i feel like s**t if she is. We went to the zoo the other day and she reacted after a milk arrowroot biscuit which she's normally fine with.
Otherwise she sits up unaided for long periods of time, she wants to be on the move but can't so gets grizzly she loves the jolly jumper and is always rocking herself backwards and forward when she sits or dances when she stands.
She's a lot more vocal now, talking back to ava, she loves reading books and trying to feed herself (she actually gets the spoon in)...
How is everyone else, how are those gorgeous little bubs?
Z - check out the website, they have the market on the other side of town also, can't remember off the top of my head but know that it rotates locations so chances are next month will be near you!! Caroline isn't sitting on her own for more than a few seconds and then falls over !
Had a look and they are over maribyrnong way so still rouhgly 45min.. ahh well maybe one day i can go to a maribyrnong one and take MIL.. she's not far from there!
Z's been sitting for a while now but refuses to do anything else.. just like her big sister, ava sat from 5mths and didn't crawl or roll around until 10mths.. hopefully z figures to stop being lazy and roll after me!
my son never rolled ... he sat at 5 months and crawled around 8 months but not once did he roll. he's 10 years old now and the only rolling he does is his eyes haha
illeyena Market looks awesome hope to get to either of the out west ones!! DS2 will sit on DS1 couch for a while but if I sit him on floor he falls over! He does roll tummy to back and back to tummy from 4 months but doesn't do either on a regular basis more a I need a change as he is lazy LOL
DS2 loves exersaucer and will stand and jump and giggle in there!! very cute
PO5 woo hoo on teeth!! no teeth here yet been chewing in everything since 3 months and drooling for ages!!! DS1 was same and no teeth till 11 months then 2 more at 14 months!
ZF - When i was having lots of trouble with F (she was so unsettled) we were told to try afew different things. Anyways one of their ideas was that mabey she had a dairy intolerence, and i was told to either put her on soy formula, or stop drinking milk & milk products myself as it would travel thru the breastmilk.
I wont try egg yet then. Thanks!

We haven't turned car seats yet. Like ZF, we have a turn-a-tot and the rear facing limit is 8kg. Amelia is now just under 6kg so we've got awhile to go before we turn it. No hurry, I'm happy to have her rear facing for as long as possible.
Haven't tried egg yet either Jennie. My notes from my CHN says egg white from 10 months and egg yolk from 11 months. So will probably leave it til she's closer to one and she can have whole egg as I can't be bothered separating them lol...Amelia is eating 3 meals a day about half a cup in size, little piggy and she is stacking on the weight now which is great. She's shot back up 1kg over the last month and is now just right at the bottom of the chart instead of way off it And she still loves her booby too so I'm relieved about that. She has been having the Bellamy's baby porridge for breakfast with some Rafferty's fruit purees squeezed in. For lunch and dinner, it's usually a mooshed up bit of what we have and some finger foods like toast, bread, steamed broccoli, carrots, etc.
Amelia is rolling everywhere! And she pivots on her belly, so I think she will be starting to commando crawl soon. Josh never did, he went straight to hands and knees crawling at 10 months. They are so cute together now, he will get down on the ground with her and "show" her how to crawl LOL She can sit by herself in the high chair and on my lap or the floor if I'm supporting her. She lasts about 10 seconds or so before she topples over.
Oh and the best thing is on Thursday she started saying "bababababa" for the first time!! Today she said "dadadada" right in front of DH so he heard it! So cool
Hope you ladies are all well and getting as much sleep as you can
We're quitely motoring along here too. I think DD2 is getting a fair bit of seperation anxiety too. She doesnt like to have me out of her sight and she is getting funny with other people holding her.
We are on 2 meals a day here. Brekky is a rafferty's garden puree mixed with some rafferty's garden cereal. Tea, she has some pureed veggies. I am going to try her on chicken next week. Oh and I have also made home made rusks with great success. A friend suggested the home made rusks with DD1 too. If anyone is interested. Get a really fresh piece of bread, cut the crusts off. Spread with vegemite and then roll up the bread and try and like squish it so it is tight together. Microwave for about 30 seconds and then let it cool down. It should 'set' firmly. DD2 loves them.
We are still rearwards facing here too. We have no idea how much she weighs but DH weighed her on the Wii fit the other day with him and she was about 7.5 kg. Again in no hurry to turn her seat around.
We dont sit for very long. She rolls onto her tummy from her back as soon as put down and loves her exosaucer.
I think thats about it.
For those who are bf still. How many milk feeds are you doing a day and how many sleeps are your little ones having a day at the moment?
I hope everyone is well and I hope they can find out about Z's allergies soon and she goes back to being a happy happy girl!
Z - I hope you are able to find out what is setting z's allergies off definately strange she is reacting to things she has had before. Maybe its more so now as she has been sick?
Eluned - Good to hear the miss is putting on some wieght must be a relief for you
AFM - DS can sit for ages now and can get himself to sitting and yesterday just started crawling thank goodness he cant do it fast though yet Havent changed to forward facing yet either ours is also a convertable one that at 8kgs ya supose to turn. At 6 months he was 7.6kgs so will see what his 8month check up says and go from there. He's not fussed on how he sits so theres no hurry. If it recommends 8kgs to turn them around does it mean you have to for safety?
Still breastfeeding here finding my boobs are getting sore the he pops a tooth through must have a different attachment while he gets use to it? Hes got 4 through now thank goodness hes stopped with the biting!
Jenjams - we generally feed 6 times a day 2 of which are during the night at 10ish and again at 4ish Will be so glad to get rid of these! As for sleeps he cat naps in the morning and sometimes late arvo and generally has anywhere between 1.5hrs - 2hrs in the arvo.
Jen - thanks hun, am hoping we find out soon to, i want to know if she is allergic to dairy, feel like crap not knowing if she is and she's getting it through my milk but at the same time nit's hard to cut out dairy and pay a fortune buying seperate for me then DP and A???
Z is feeding b/w 4-6 feeds in a day, and having about 3 sleeps then her overnight sleep.
Eluned - go Amelia.. isn't it cute when they start babbling little words.. or what sounds like words... Z gos bububub but i don't think she means too... - so jealous of all the bubba's new foods.. i'm not allowed to introduce anything new into Z's diet until we get into the RCH so at the moment she stuck on pear and apple, pumpkin, potato, carrot, broccoli, plain toast and rice cereal
Jennie13 - yeah i was thinking of cutting it down, the worst part is i don't kow if maybe she's intolerant or if she's allergic... hmmmm so hard!
Both girls are sick at the moment, high temps yesterdayvery sooky.. haven't gotten much done.. hope everyone else is doing ok.
So jealous of these babies that are digging into their solids! Jacks is still very much a booby man, we're lucky to get one meal in. However, I tried him on that rafferty's "smoothie" yoghrut stuff and he loved it little junk food kid. So I might stick with that for a while just so he gets used to other texture other than milk...
We recenetly had to take a trip to the pead office last week as the Dr's discovered that his fontanelle (sp?) has already closed and was worried about it (as was I, it's been about the size of my lttle finger since he was 8weeks). It has def closed but apparently they are allowed to close between 6 to 18 months without causing trouble so his has just closed at the lower end of "normal" we need to go back in Nov tho to make sure his head is still growing. But otherwise it's all fine, Phew! As a mother I went in there having visions of him needing his poor little skull broken open again.
Jacks is very close to crawling, he doesn't stay still for 2 seconds (if we're holding him he tries to scale up your torsoe... don't even get me started about nappy changes and getting dressed times! I was DH straddle him last night just to pin him down for 30 seconds!)
Car seat, we still haven't turned it yet even tho Jacks is 8.45kg's. But we're gonna meet in the middle and switch it when he hits 10kg.
That's about all from me, I better get going DH has talken his lord ship out so I'm able to clean the house... ^^;
Hey ladies just a quick US post, got a lot going on here at the moment and a bit stressed, thank god i have BB..
Z got weighed today for her 7-8mth check-up, we have to go back at 10mths instead of 12 as she dropped a % weight wise but the health nurse thinks it's allergy related and as we can't offer her any new foods this is impacting, HOWEVER she said she has gone up a couple of % in her height which at this age is not normal in such a short period of time.
NOW:
6.97kg - 25th % so down from about 35th% to 25th%
69cm - 85th% - she jumped from 50th% to 85th% in just under 2mths!
HC: 43cm
ZF, try not too worry Sounds like Z is doing just fine. After all you and your hubby are quite tall right? She is probably finding her own place on the charts and I reckon she will be a tall skinny minny. In saying that I understand how you must feel having had to deal with weight "issues" with both of mine, it's not fun. Keep doing what you're doing, and once you have that allergy appointment you'll have a more clearer picture of what she can eat. She's a great size as it is and at this age they put on an average of around 15grams a day (according to our dietician).
Thanks hun, Ava was always tiny on the charts 10th% but she never dropped % so i never worried on the up side Z grew length wise WAY more than normal according the MCHN so i am trying to tell myself her body was concentrating on that rather than pudging up.
She's still heavier than Ava was at that age so i'm not worried, not by much though even though at times she was kg's heavier at the same age, she has about 4cm on her height wise at the same age though... lol
Sorry I haven't been in for ages - we were all really sick and DH was away so it was a nightmare, and then for the last couple of weeks we have been away. I am finally getting back into the swing of things now.
DS is an absolute pig!! He has three HUGE meals a day and is so different to DD. She was terrible eater and still is. In fact, I think DS eats more than DD does now! I have not found a single thing that he will not eat and you have to be careful when eating if he is anywhere near you, as he is so quick and will have grabbed your food and shoved it in his mouth in a flash! I haven't had him weighed since his 6 month check so have no idea how much weight he has gained, but he sure feels like a porker! He can sit for quite a while, although at other times he topples quickly, and he has just figured out how to roll the other way, finally! He tries to get his legs under him when on his belly but I think he is still a way from crawling. Still no teeth, but DD didn't get any til 10 months so he may be the same. And he still has around 5 BFs a day - including one or two overnight.
We haven't turned the car seat yet - I think we may also wait til around 10kg.
And as for egg - the other night DH says to me 'can he have egg yet?' and then I turned around and he had already stuck a whole piece of fried egg into DS's mouth!!! So I am assuming we have no egg allergy here as he was fine. Then last night DH gave him DD's left over peanut butter sandwich! Again, no problems, thank goodness.
ZF - try no to stress hun, as hard as it is. I had weight issues with DD and really got myself stressed out over it, and she is fine. I think she is just always going to be tall and skinny. She is now in the 75% for height and the 25% for weight, but that is just natural for her I think. Hopefully it is just the same thing with Z.
