AFM - Amelia got immunised today and DH & I also got the tetnus, whooping cough and diptheria booster they were offering for free. She has been a bit grizzly today but not as bad as i thought she'd be.
Amelia is getting weighed on Monday, hopefully she has put on a bit more weight. We used bathroom scales to weigh her a couple of weeks ago at the in-laws house and she was 4.3kg with clothes on so I'm hoping she will be around 4.1kg.

Hi all,
Noah had his injections on Thursday night and he's been a little out of sorts since then. He slept most of yesterday and also had some vomiting last night. He didn't sleep very well last night either, he was awake every three hours and wanted a feed, which is unlike him. Anyway's he seems a little better today and more relaxed. I'm just really tired today :(
Apart from that, the move into his cot went well. I didn't bother just trying him in there during the day, we put him in on Thursday night and he's looking pretty happy with the extra room he's now got :D The only thing is the baby monitor we got given has static and keeps me awake. So today we went and bought another one and it does the same flipping thing. Anyone got any suggestions on baby monitors that don't make any static noise???

Tara, we have the Angel Care monitor and depending where we have it, there is static - we move the receiver around from our room to wherever we are in the rest of the house and noticed that when we had it on the kitchen bench DH's fish tank interfered with the signal. When my sister was here recently she charged her phone in the room next to Amelia's and it also created static. I think if there is anything electronic (and on) between the monitor and receiver then you will get interference, regardless of the brand.

Any digital one that says DECT on it shouldn't have static. we have an oricom one and it is fantastic.
Tayla has been getting really bad reflux and the gaviscon that helps it is making her constipated with the worst stomach pains but no one will help me. I even went to the Women's and Children's hospital emergency Wed night because she was screaming all arvo. She was happy when the doc saw her and he said it might just be in her nature to cry and gave me info on colic and crying babies :wall:
I have a peadiatrician appt mon morning and i am not leaving without a prescription, Tayla has been in so much pain it is horrible to watch

hello everyone,
i've been on ttc forum last year and today finally managed to have a look at this one. Grace was born on 30th of June, 3.45kg and 48cm long. she's delivered emergency c/s at 38 weeks. now at 7 weeks she weighs 4.98kg and is 52cm tall.
she's an angel during the day, feeds every 2.5 - 3 hrs and 2 naps, but very fussy at night. we've been trying to establish routine (wash, nappy, pj, dim light, feed, then - hopefully - sleep), but she would feed on and off literally all night and only sleeps on my chest (she's co-sleeping). she screams the bloody murder if i try to put her down and the only way to calm her is to feed. she doesn't want to take bottle as well, so hubby cannot help much.
the nurse we saw yesterday advised to put her in her crib so she doesn't smell me so much - it might be the reason she wants to feed so often. tried that last night, i kept putting her back to crib whenever she started to drift off during feed. we 'fought' until around 2.30am, then i tried putting her on her tummy. i know it's not recommended, but i don't know what else would work. she doesn't like being swaddled and spits out dummy. she has mastered the art of lifting her head and shifting from left to right, so i gave it a go. voila, she slept for 4 hrs straight for the first time!
now another challenge is to get her to take bottle (ebm) so we can go out a little longer without me having to bf in public and dh gets his share in feeding.

Hi Rachel, congrats!! Tristan wont sleep on his back, at all. He has reflux and we are also havind wind issues, so it's on his side with a sleep positioner for him.
Julz, I hope the paed can help poor Tayla :(
I cant help with the monitor, I dont believe in them. So we dont have one. Never have.
Tristan had his shots and handled them very well. He has been much more spewy lasy few days and his poop is gross too... Probably from the gastro oral dose.

Amelia has been clingy and a bit whingy, I think she also had a bit of a temp and in the past day or so she has developed a snotty nose, poor thing keeps sneezing!

All our mummies seem to be doing well :) I hope everyones babies get better soon from their needles.
I finally managed to arrange appointments for the MHCN for Avaleigh's 8 week check up...I keep missing the appointments because she sets them on Wednesday which is the only day I dont have a car but she doesn't want to move it to another day because parents group is on Wednesday and I think she thinks I am trying to avoid it. So annoying! I also booked an appointment with the osteo for Avaleigh in preparations for her shots...I know it is over the top but it is going to make me feel better so I am going to do it.

Little update on Tristan....
Tristan wakes between 6-7 each morning, but doesnt want feeding until 7:30 8am, he then feeds again around 10am before going down for a nap, he wakes between 2-3 for another feed. He then feeds around 5pm, 7pm and last feed around 8:30-9pm. He has little cat naps in between the day feeds.
He is also self-settling, gets put into bed awake and goes to sleep himself.
He loves his cuddles and is starting to smile a lot more often now.
He's making little 'goo' noises which are very cute :D
Tristan is such a good baby, I thought Brendan was a good baby... but compared to Tristan he was horrible! :lol:
Tristan's reflux is settling down nicely, still very spewy, but not in any more pain. He's such a relaxed and happy baby.
Brendan loves to help change Tristan's nappy, he wipes his bum, gets the nappies, wipes and the cream. He often tries to change Tristan's nappy even when it doesnt need doing! He helps bath Tristan (they bath together) by pushing water onto Tristan. Brendan will also put the dummy in Tristan's mouth when Tristan cries and loves to cuddle him all the time.
I am so lucky to have such beautiful babies :D

I've just read the thread from the start and it's amazing how quick they grow up!
Spencer is 10 weeks old this week and he is doing ok. Feeding is becoming a bit of a problem. He currently feeds every 4 hours, 150 ml, but i am finding that after a couple of hours, he is demanding more. I am looking at feeding him every 3 hours to see how he settles then.
Spencer is sleeping through the night. We put him down after his last feed at 10.30 and he goes to sleep own his own. It's great. I'm the same as you Sally, I thought my daughter was easy! Not compared to Spencer.
Everything is going well. He is gurgling a little and smiles all the time. The smiles make my heart melt and I want more!!
Anyway, hope everyone is doing well

Good to hear that everyone is doing well with their bubbas and time is definitely flying!
Amelia is doing the gurgling thing as well and drooling heaps. I agree about the smiles, absolutely priceless!
Has anyone got anything exciting planned for Father's Day? It is going to be DH's first and I've bought him a book to read to Amelia before bed and was thinking of buying a little outfit for her to wear, something along the lines of "my dad rocks".

I might give DH brekky in bed, or just let him zone out for a while.I know what he wants but I doubt I'll be able to get to the hardware store in time to get it on sale. Might put all the girls in Daddy related clothes for the day though.
Leah is going well. Still little, in 000 onesies now but more of her weight is length than belly, so still fitting into 0000 separates. She has long legs. She feeds well and sleeps through the night (from when I go to bed until at least DH gets up for work at 5:30, sometimes longer) She is over 2kg heavier than birth weight though. She doesn't like bottles at all. If I am not home she will only take enough to quench her thirst and then she will wait for me. She will go 4 hours between feeds if I am out or 2ish hours during the day if I am home. She is incredibly easy.

Ali, Tristan is the same, 000 onsies but still fits 0000 seperates and the bodysuits too. YAY for being 2kg over birthweight!!
Tristan is weighed today hoping for a nice gain :)

Both boys got weighed and measured this morning...
Tristan is now 4.5kg (+750 grams in 4 weeks)
Both boys sit exactly on the 10th percentile line for their actual ages (weight) :D
Tristan is now 56cms (+6cms since birth)

Hi Ladies,
Just thought i would pop in and say HELLO....Blake is doing well he is now 10w4d and weighs 5.7kg...57cm long and 40cm HC....fully formula now and loving it....he smiles all the time....his routine when we are home is good...3-4hrs during the day and at night last feed 9pm wakes at 2-3am and up for breakfast at 6-7am...his wind his getting better by the day and his reflux is under control...

Sally - sounds like Tristan is doing well! I think Amelia is in the 50th percentile for weight and 10th for length (I could be wrong, she was weighed on Monday and I wasn't really paying attention to what the nurse was saying, I was too impressed with her weight gain!)
Chrissy - Blake is just gorgeous! Great news about his wind and reflux too!
We just got back from a nice long walk, the weather was so windy here at the start of the week that I'm making up for it now :lol:

looks like everyone is doing great with their lo's.
thanks for the heads up about injections. grace had hers yesterday and absolutely hated it! she screamed her lungs out, but not for long. i was able to put her in the crib at bed time as usual, but then she woke up crying at midnite, had a temp, and didn't want to leave my chest since then.
she's getting better as we speak and all smiling again. hope to get a decent sleep tonight :) nice weekend to you all!

Are any of you guys using cloth nappies?
I've started to, and we had one accident with poop and now the edge of the nappy is stained.... never had that problem with Brendan as I didn't start using them until he was 9 months.
Are any of you using lotions and special skincare for bubs?
I never did with Brendan until he got excema and now he uses QV wash, am-o-lin shampoo and we also use special hypo-allergenic washing powder.
With Tristan I am in love with GAIA stuff, it's gorgeous and he smells devine afterwards!

Hope you're all well, my baby is 10 weeks old today - I packed away all her 0000 clothes and most of her 000 tops!
Sally, I'm using cloth nappies part-time. Haven't had any issues with staining (yet!)- I've been soaking them, then pre-rinsing and then warm washing.
As for lotions, we use Johnson's baby bedtime bath and then i massage in some baby oil.
How was everyone's weekend? We were flat out doing work in our yard on Saturday and yesterday went to buy a new washing machine. We have a top loader that is about 10 years old and have upgraded to a front loader. Is it sad that I'm looking forward to getting it and doing washing?!

Our weekend was pretty average, visited both parents on saturday, party at IL's sat night and stayed home Sun. Nigel worked on the playground for the boys, need to fence it and then build a sandpit :D
I'm using mcn's so I dont soak. Might have to put them through two cycles maybe...
I so need a new washing machine too!!

I've just been catching up on all the goings on. Everyone's growing so quickly :D Noah is also doing very well. We had his dedication (christening) on the weekend and it went off without a hitch. It was lovely :D
I don't know if anyone can remember about my drama's with breastfeeding and that Noah was put onto a bottle and formula when he was 2 weeks old. Anyway I've kept expressing 2 a day and on Sunday morning, managed to melt part of the expresser. So I tried him back on the breast. He went back!!! :dance: Couldn't believe it!!! I am now feeding him from the breast at every feed and if he is still hungry at the end we'll top him up with formula until my milk supply builds back up. It had dwindled to me only being able to express 50ml from each breast twice a day. So I'm really excited. Doing everything I can to make sure he attaches properly and that I look after my nipples to prevent the problems I had early from returning, but so far so good :D Sally I think I'm going to try your lactation biscuits :D
Apart from that Noah is growing and very healthy. I can't believe he's 10w old tomorrow :D He's too cute for words :D

Tara - well done for getting Noah back on the breast...it must be so exciting...I remember when I finally got Avaleigh back on the breast...so are you feeding, topping up and expressing? What formula are you using...I might have to change Avaleigh so interested in the formula others are using. They grow so quickly! Noah is a cutie pie, I have also added you to FB. I tried to say it was me but it wouldn't send.
Sally - I am using a mix but am nearly full time, Avaleigh doesn't fit in to the OSFM that I bought so she is in prefolds and small AIO. Try a pre rinse and a little vinegar for the nappies at each wash and whenever you can get the MCN outside in the sun (which apparently removes stains) Avaleigh has to use natural products because she reacts to everything...although one natural/organic thing we dont use that doesn't cause problems is 'Mustela, Dermo-Cleansing' I also use cloth wipes and make my own bum wash otherwise we have issues if we use a lot of disposable wipes.
Baby09 - wow in to some 00 and mostly 000, sounds like you have a healthy bubba there.
curlygirl - I hope your bubba is better after her shots.
AFM - Avaleigh was weighed last week and she finally broke 4kg!!!!! :dance: Her osteo appt went well, she has another one booked for tomorrow. She had been favouring her right side quite a bit, only laying on that side, after the osteo she is laying on both sides just fine! I am off to my first MG today should be interesting...Will I better go because Avaleigh is awake again...she has been up ever 30 mins to 1 hour since 8am....not sure what the problem is????

afm, still trying to get grace to accept bottle. she switched between breast and bottle just find until 2 weeks a go suddenly she refuses bottle. have been trying to get dh feeding her while i'm hiding in the other part of the house - no luck so far :( she just played with the nipple without sucking it. will keep trying, hope she'll take it eventually.

Hi all,
The dramas with Tayla are still rolling in. the losec is helping the silent reflux, but since she started it (and before but it seems to be worse now) she has had a major problem with wind. during the night she wakes up every hour or two crying. She is not hungry because she falls asleep as soon as she is in my arms, but i sit on the couch with her and she does full body flinches and farts constantly. She does like 20-30 over the night (that is not normal is it?) I have changed her formula to novalac colic which at first made her constipated (again) but now that has cleared and her poo is softer and more normal looking than it has been since she started formula (sorry for tmi but this has been a big issue for her), so i think the switch was a good idea.
I also think she is cutting a tooth up the top, front right. there is a white corner coming through.
She is just an unsettled and unhappy bub (other than her 20 or so mins of happy times after each feed when she is very smiley). I can't work out if it is her bowels, teeth or reflux that is bothering her.
If you have any advice on any i would be very grateful.
A friend mentioned a naturopath that she uses for her son who specialises in chn, so i have booked in to see her on Monday, hopefully she can give Tayla a bit of relief. I feel so bad for her and i am getting very exhausted.
Hope your bubs are coping a bit better with the first few months of life than mine :)

Poor Tayla :( Just a question/suggestion.... have you got the head end of her cot/bassinet raised? I have put a pillow under Tristan's head end and he sleeps so much better now.

GM: Noah is getting mostly bm but getting top ups of formula in the afternoon/evening when I have no milk. He has Nan, and we find it to be really good. He copes pretty well with it which is good. I'm going to go to the GP tomorrow and talk to her about getting something to increase my milk supply as poor Noah is so unsettled in the afternoon and evening cause he's so hungry. Morning's aren't too bad but night's are terrible. Poor kiddo.
Apart from that things are going pretty well. Jeremy had a great fathers day. We bought him jocks and socks for his first fathers day and he loved it :D.

Greenmumma- Spencer is on Heinz Formula. I found S26 was a bit tough on his tummy and Heinz has been great so far.
Sally- What is the diaper decisions nappy hunt? Sorry if I sound lost, but i have no idea and would be interested in knowing what it's about.

Spencer is 12 weeks Tuesday and he is going well. Still sleeping through the night and putting on weight. I haven't put him into his cot yet, I think I will suffer separation anxiety! Anyone have any ideas on how i can make it easier on myself?

hope you all had a great weekend - we FINALLY bought a wii & wii fit (we must be one of the few who didnt have one!) so I've been busy trying to lose the pregnancy weight I put on. I've lost about 10kg so far but it just stopped coming off about 4 weeks ago :rolleyes:
DH loved the book I gave him for fathers day and I also managed to keep Amelia's hand still long enough to trace an outline on the card for him :lol:
I started doing the nappy hunt but we reached our internet limit mid last week and I've been side tracked with the wii so I haven't done a lot :redface:
re: formula, Amelia was on the s26 but seemed to get stomach pains so I switched her to Nan and she is fine. She only tops up after some feeds.
The past two nights she has been going to sleep around 8/8.30 and not waking til 6 or 7, so she's dropped a feed - is this normal? She's now getting 5 feeds a day...
veebee - i tried putting Amelia in the cot during the day first and then built up to doing it overnight, of course the first night I spent listening to the monitor! good luck and im sure you'll be fine :-)

Veebee, The nappy hunt is an online scavenger (sp?) hunt where you search around WAHM sites looking for an icon, you go into the draw to win prizes too :D It's awesome to see what the WAHM's have been up to. I've spent a heap of money hehe.
I have GREAT NEWS!! Tristan ROLLED! back to front :D He got to his side, layed there for a few seconds and then continued to his front. He got his arm stuck, but it wont be long until he gets the hang of it.
So proud of him, he's 11 weeks!! He's at the same developmental level that Brendan was at 7-8+ months!!

Tristan is now in 00 for length and 000 for 2pce sets! He's growing so much!! Brendan was in the same sizes at 10 months! I'm amazed at the difference between the two!
Well not much else has happened around here... I'm about to head down town to collect my mail, and hopefully some parcels!

Sally, sounds like Tristan is growing well. We're wearing anything from 000-0's at the moment, how can brands be so different in size?
Nothing too exciting happpening here, well except for yesterday. Sophie had her first proper laugh. She absolutely cracked up for about 5 mins watching the dogs playing under the hose. So glad both DH and I were both there to hear it.
She's also being pretty consistant with 6 hours sleeps at night, although the other night she went from 6.45pm to 3am - big fan of that!
The only 'bad' thing at the moment, is with people offering Sophie food. I have had my SIL put gravy and potato off the tip of her finger into Sophie's mouth and last night my dad did the same with ice cream. I just think it's really rude, expecially to do it without asking - which even if they did, I would say definately not. We have dinner at my parents every Sunday, so i think I'm going to have to lay down the law when everyone is there this Sunday.

How is everyone? I'm really enjoying the nice weather we have at the moment!
Sounds like our bubbies are all doing really well - Amelia has been babbling for a couple of weeks now, I love it how she tries to say something and will give me a huge grin when I respond!
I also had her weighed today at mother's group and she is now 5.55kg - she's put on 785g in 4 weeks :dance:
