:hiding:Hello! Yep, I'm still alive. I just read 3 months worth of posts and was very confused by all the name changes but think I am up to date now. Sorry I have been so MIA, am just too tired, working three days and the minute I get home in the evening I'm tag teaming with DH who is heading out for Tax App's, only time we get is in the evening after 8 when girls are down and just want to lie on the couch and watch TV and chat with DH for a couple of hours before bed to do it all again. Computer broke tonight so I moved to the laptop while he fixed it and what do you know, I got 114 emails in the last 3 months, most of which were spam but I thought I must check my bellybelly friends as I've been so negligent.
Lilah is doing great. She is 8kg now! She's on the 75% for height and weight, has a couple of teeth, lots of smiles and giggles, LOVES her vegies not so keen on fruit weirdly but she'll easily eat a huge bowl of veggies mashed with cheese, egg or whatever, hates trying to crawl but loves her walker and is likely to walk in a couple of months the way her feet are already working according to the Dr (we'll see, Elly didn't crawl till she was 11mths old, walked a couple of weeks later though, so I'd be happy with anything less than that).
My biggest problem is the disinterest in sitting down and drinking. I can get her to have some good booby morning and usually in the evening, but it's such a struggle in between and with my supply that's a difficult thing, Pulls on and off, doesn't want to latch, arches about and BITES. It's dropped a little but I'm still getting 500ml which is ok I think for someone doing so well with solids and clearly she's growing! I'd blame my boobs but she's just as fussy with the bottle, the only difference is if if she's getting too tense I can lie her under her gym and give her her bottle if needed. Anyhoo, she bit my nipple so hard yesterday and she drew blood, it bled a BIT, I expressed next feed as she wasn't in mood and was wondering why my milk was turning orange, and sure enough I was expressing blood and milk as it reopened. So I am a little dejected this might be the beginning of the end. Unfortunately, giving up bottles is not an option for us as I work three days and with my supply if I she won't feed, I need to express so my supply doesn't drop (yep it happens that fast for me) so I than need to give her that later in a bottle. Anyway, we'll see I guess, sometimes she loves the feed and I'm hoping it's a phase. Elly was so much worse when she went through it, to the point of refusing all together at 7 months, but then AF came back as a result and my beautiful Lilah was born so I can't be too disappointed about that can I. Silver lining there. I feel a bit better because my girlfriend who had a bub a week after me came and visited over Xmas holidays and she is exploding with milk always has, and her bub is doing exactly the same thing, but her boobs just keep making it so not such a big deal for her but made me think is hopefully just a (long) phase and hopefully we'll get through it so I can lose formula at around 9 months with what I've got.
Lilah has started sleeping through from around 8 - 6 or 7 with a dreamfeed mostly. I think she'd sleep till 7 if my 2 year old didn't climb up into her cot and steal her teddy and start yelling "LILAH, AWAKE, OOOOH TEDDY!" Etc. Moved her into her cot and out of my bed at about 5 1/2 months after not wanting her to not be next to me, she suddenly started to move around, roll about, turn sideways, wake up for no reason and want to play because I was there, and generally annoy the hell out of me and I went from "oooh, I don't want her to not be next to me, to yep, in her cot, in another room - no worries, overnight :lol:) DD1 took a couple of weeks to adjust to having a bub in there who was still waking for a ngiht feed usually, but since DD1 still wakes a lot of nights, if she woke at the same time, just gave her a bottle of milk after and they both went back to sleep. We still aid Lilah to sleep by rocking (doesn't fall asleep feeding anymore), though have transitioned her to rocking in the pram for me as my neck can't take it anymore, but thus far have not had any issues with night waking, if she starts to wake between sleep cycles at night we'll do what we have to, but we figured would just take it as it comes and see if she's happy to be aided to sleep and stay asleep and so far so good.
Have just started toilet training DD1 on the days I have off (turned 2 in December) and going brilliantly, she was terrified of the potty but then got used to it when I brought out her favourite book and we just sat on it (and did nothing) but then today and yesterday, everytime I sat her on it, and said "let go of your wee wee" she would do a wee than jump up and leap around singing "YAAAAAAAY!" then want to pick the potty up and take it to the toilet herself. Was very cute. Am very impressed with how clever she is. Lilah LOVES her sister, she careens around in her walker chasing her and all Elly has to do is look at her and she gets SOOO excited.
Life is definately getting easier, felt like a constant merry go round, but 2 is a big difference to 18 months and 6 months to newborn and feels like we're coming out of it a bit now. Am excited to resume contact with the outside world (work doesn't count), am focusing on shifting weight now, lost 6 kg after Lilah, lost 3 more in last couple of months, next goals are 2 more before under 70, 7 more before pre-baby weight, and ooh, it would be nice to lose another 5 after that and be under 60 for the first time in my life, but will be happy to get to prebaby weight. Am determined, now if only I could find time to excercise , hmmmm.

Sas! Good to see you back on the boards! Was wondering how you and Lilah were getting on. Glad to see everything is going well for you post baby. How is it being back at work? I personally LOVE it :)
Lachlan got a little sunburnt yesterday on his cheeks (so did his mummy!), and now he's got a horrible heat rash. hope it goes away soon! He doesn't seem too fussed by it. Still no teeth, so signs or symptoms. He's on chunky puree now, his fave is spaghetti bolognese and chunks of banana! He too is commando crawling.. just a matter of weeks I think before he's mobile.
Big news: We're going to try for number 2 soon. Don't mention it on FB, we're keeping it on the down low for now, but super excited and super nervous! Only problem is, is that AF hasn't come back... I'm still BF in the morning and evening. Really don't want to give up BF but may have to if AF doesn't show...

Hey Erica! Yeah, I love the fact I can go to work and be able to focus on and get through a whole pile of work, feels almost easy compared to the rigours of motherhood. :lol: Just finding I am burning both ends of the candle with work and DH's work combined with the other responsibilities we have, we don't have any time even on the weekend for ourselves so something is going to have to give. It may be I give up work start of next financial year (and next tax season) once we've paid off our reno bills and we tighten right down and focus on just our accounting business and if it doesn't grow as fast as we'd like there's always FTB (but hopefully it will as we're at the point where DH is not getting through everything and can't take on more while I'm at work).
Wow, on trying for #2! As someone who had 2 close I can tell you it is utterly exhausting, but I am already starting to see the rewards as the kids are starting to play together already and due to the age of DD1 there was no jealousy at all when DD2 was born. Also, I seem to remember a certain someone in my "pre" TTC group who still hadn't got AF and next thing you're UTD, so maybe lightning can strike twice ay!!

Completely sidetracked by other Stuff and haven't been near this forum for aaaaaaaaaages. It stopped giving me notifications for this thread for some reason ...
The lump is still just a generic lump, 8.23kg and 69cm of it in fact. He's had a bit of custard and pumpkin but I really can't be bothered messing with solids yet when boobies work just fine.
Otherwise, he doesn't do anything interesting at all. Doesn't sit up, no teeth, doesn't crawl, wriggles across the loungeroom floor but only when you're not looking. Looks cute a lot. Barely fits in the bassinet.
We're having a terrible time trying to get finance for our new house since they changed the credit rules - we had approval with a bank come through just before Christmas but it was conditional to the house being finished by February. Builder came back after xmas break and said that was impossible. Bank refused to extend the approval. So I'm still sharing a room with a baby, he still has all his stuff in a plastic crate as he has no furniture, and we still have terrible toilet contention issues with only one toilet between 4 of us - in the bathroom.

Elf - welcome back. Glad to hear you and lump are going well! Sorry to hear about the bank issue. We too are trying to get more money from the bank to renovate before we sell and they want friggen quotes for everything we want done. We only want to borrow 15K FFS!!! Ridiculous really but we gotta do it.

Good news from me as well... bank conditionally approved our loan increase pending an evaluation of our apartment to see what it's worth. So we've been frantically cleaning up over the past couple of days to make it look as nice as possible. Fingers crossed we get a nice result! So, pending the evaluation looks like I'll be getting me a brand spanking new car! DH and I have been sharing one car for the past 4 years, which has done us just fine, but now that we have Lachlan, we need that second car so that if DH wants to go to golf or do a Bball training session then I don't feel like I'm stuck in the house with a baby and no way of getting anywhere. Now that Lachlan is older I'm finding that I have to take him more places cos he gets bored at home.
Other than that, we'll be moving in the next few months... *eek*. I'm so excited that we'll finally have more room! I love where I live now, it was perfect for just DH and I, but with the little monkey now in the picture, we need more space!!! Aaaaand once we move and have our finances sorted out, then it's operation baby #2!! So we'll start officially trying once the move is over and done with. As for now, I'm still BF once a day and taking the mini pill for contraception.
Speaking of BF... I think Lachlan is self weaning... he keeps on pulling away and not emptying me like he used to, yet straight after he'll drink a bottle no problems. I want to keep the BF up at least once a day, but IDK... I will miss the BF, but I will enjoy the extra freedom. As long as he's growing (and he is... 9kg!!!) nicely and a happy baby I've got no probs! :)
Lachlan is still loving daycare. apparently he gets so impatient at meal times that he starts to cry and fuss as soon as they take the puree out of the fridge. Yesterday the girls said he sounded like a "dying goose' because he was crying so much from being so impatient! He had just woken up from a 3.5 hour nap (!!!!) so he musta been hungry.
I'm working from home today, so I'd better get off this computer and log onto my laptop.

Lachlan had his first swimming lesson today. He loved it! Photos on FB :)
We had a pretty rough night last night. Lachlan had the sniffles and was up and down like a yo yo. So needless to say we didn't get much sleep. He seems to be getting better today but his nose is still runny.

P weighed in at 7.2kg!! Yay :dance:
He has also been asleep for the last 3.5hrs.. He is sitting really well now, going backwards and has pushed himself forward once when he desperately wanted the toy that was in front of him... my baby is growing up :cry:
We start a music and play group next month run in conjunction with the university and Kaleidoscope. I also want to get him into swimming lessons, but I am having trouble convincing DH that it is a good idea to do it now before he can get himself into trouble with pools etc. We have also started meeting up with the lovely mums and bubs we met through my PND support group, so that will be my little mothers group I think. It was really good to catch up with them on Wednesday and watch all the bubs interact (and P is the second oldest, but the smallest :lol:)
Anyway, I really should go eat something...

Erica.. Another bub? Wow, I couldn't imagine having another one just yet! Your hands will surely be full!

erica- another bub already how exciting!!! i think i started being clucky again when connor stopped being newborn...
but no more babies for us until connor is old enough for kindy i think, hes a crazy energetic lil thing already :dunno: climbing all over me and he already knows how to get down off my lap... but hes only mobile on his tummy going backwards atm so tends to get there and go "hmm what now?"
and lachlan looked like he had a ball at swimming!! connor starts his on monday :D
belle- i see it as the difference between pulling them out when they are paddling to keep their head out of the water and crying for you or pulling them out and doing cpr... not to mention its fun!! u get to get in the water with them!!
omg so jealous of ur sleep!! damnit!! i just jinxewd myself counting how many minutes mr c has been asleep...
ok im back. mr c has decided sleep is for the weak but wont understand mummy is weak and needs as much sleep as she can get!!! im assuming its his teeth coming thru tho some days u can see his two middle ones and his left bottom eye tooth but other days u cant see any of them!! so i dont know! but hes been sleeping a maximum of 2hrs at a time at night and then needing to be fed or cuddled back to sleep then during the day sleeping a max of 45min but generally only 20min. hes also learned things ive been using to get him to sleep and recognises them and chucks a tanty so even just getting him to sleep is a battle at the moment even when hes so tired he cant keep his eyes open. and routine? what routine?!?! except for dinner and bath time that is out of the window :wall: all of this totals a tired cross mummy with a tired cross son whose daddy is no help whatsoever cos hes either at work or at the gym... admittedly work seriously sucks for him atm so maybe i forgive him a little....
all in all tho it hasnt been as bad as it coulda been cos my sis has come down and stayed the night a few times, sleeping in the nursery, so i can sleep a bit and she will rock him back to sleep unless he insists he needs boobie. it got to the point last week where i had no clean nappies, no clean clothes for him OR me....
we have been feeding mr c breakfast of fruit or semolina and dinner of vegies, chickpeas, fruit depending on my motivation and what the fridge looks like. hes been LOVING it but sadly hes been less interested in boobies during the day i assume its from that. just wanting to snack instead of lie down and have a good drink... but yesterday and the day before were HECTIC and not in the fully sic sense and he didnt really get much solids and he seemed hungry all the time.
DF and i have been fighting heaps lately, for the above reasons generally but we had a big make up last night and are going on a date night (DF's suggestion :dance:) and leaving mr c with my mum. this will be my 1st night out in 5 zillion years. my "big night out" a couple of weeks ago ended within an hour so i am not counting it. mr c woke up within 20min of me leaving for my friends 21st and DF couldnt get him to stop crying (screaming) even after two bottles, i got home and hed just cried himself out and asleep and then was super clingy for days afterwards... see how we go tonight.

Erica: WOW! #2 already. go for it i say! Dj was 7 and a half months when i fell with Vic. best thing i could have done. yep its not easy (more so due to the issues with DJ) but something i would never, ever change. plus i also think that having them close makes the 'sleepless nights' easier - all in one hit and it also makes them closes - they know nothing but the two of them there for can't get green eye'd IYKWIM?
untold: WOO go Mr P go! (and mummy too!) swimming lessons can be good. - i never did them due to me being really bad at swimming. a friend of mine does it with her little man and he loves it. and she finds it helps to get her out of the house and get a bit more exercise in too.
AP: 9.2kg?!? man your DP was friggin' HUGE.

That's wat I was gonna say talitha, we have fished all manner of things from Mr C's mouth that he's choking on, from avocado to bread to some random sea sponge thing at the beach.... its good for them to learn and u no she has a choking reflex. My friends lil boy doesn't and they only found out when he was 2 and had lung damage from inhaling stuff...

AP - I totally get where you are coming from, from 12am-4amish Harlee is usually awake and dh and I just fight the whole time. We fight over who deserves sleep more and everything gets really tense to a point where both of us have threatend divorce over a crying baby!! :dunno:
Sometimes rocking just doesn't cut it trying to get her to sleep. She squirms and screams so its easier to just put her in the cot where she looks at the mobile and smiles.. unfortuantly I cant sleep if I know she is awake.
The last 2 nights however have been better. We have put her in the portacot in our room, and she has only been waking 3 times at night now which is so much better and she goes straight back to sleep, so Im thinking that it's an attachment thing as well as the teeth. Her teeth are visible today, but they also keep dissapearing! grr to them!!

Tali/AP - I hear ya girls! My relationship with DH is trying at times because we are both tired and snap at each other. We have also have some different ideas about how to do things with L and compromise seems to go out the window cos we're both tired.
AP - how did Mr C like swimming? Looked super cute in the pool :) Oh, and I gave Mr L scrambled egg on Saturday and he came up in a rash, so I guess he's not ready for egg eh?

AFM - Mr L is 8.9kg and 73cm long. He's a fatso and refuses to crawl. I think it's too hard for him cos he's such a fatso. And he's almost sitting up by himself too... a couple more weeks and I think my little man will be on the go and I won't be able to just dump him somewhere to play. As I mentioned, gave the little bloke some scrabled egg and he got a rash on his face and tummy. I remember Mr C getting the same thing. he's also been sick the past few days (as have I :() and so he's still getting over that.

Erica: naww poor Mr L. could it be dribble rash? i know DJ used to get it all the time? if not wait a few months and try again.
AFM: Dj is bright as a button. but 5:30am seems to be the new up for the day time time which i'm ok with. as long as i'm in bed by 11pm i'm all good. while we're still a little iffy about most things...hopefully it was a one off. the poor thing also got a nasty cough - so is on AB's for it. but it is i have to say the easiest medication i have ever have had to give him! he trys to suck it out of the syringe! I'm on AB's to...when i remember to take them
Vic on the other hand is going good. he's up on all fours rocking and pushing himself along and can sit when we pop him up and then (most of the time) roll onto his tummy from there only getting one leg caught on the way though from time to time.
We're having an Australia day BBQ tomorrow with some blokes DH worked with. which will be good. i've made a "Choc-ripple cake on crack" which is a normal one plus a toffee sauce and i'll be putting strawberrys in the middle and rasberrys on the top and dizzleing with some chocolate plus the normal BBQ things like snags, bugers and chops! and then two weeks later is day's birthday bash. 0.o kind of scary that a) this time two years ago i was VERY utd and it was stinking bloody hot (my Edd for DJ was Jan 27th!) and b) 12 months ago vic kicked so i could feel it on the out side (on dj's birthday lol) then its not long until we move 0.o its happening so fast!
As for another bub. DH and i right now have said "maybe in 3 or 4 years time" it all depends alot on how DJ is and $$ as well. as much as i would love another baby its an "if" not a "when" well i better go and tend to my crazy little chickens...they seem to to fighting over a drink bottle LOL.
