I am only going to be in Melbourne for 2 days... wish it could be longer, but still hoping to move back at this end of the year or and the very latest june 2011 :pray: just depends on weather BHL can get himself a mining or oil rig job that FIFO of melb...
Mel- that sucks about the move, I wouldnt be a happy camper either. At least you have a while until it happens, maybe time for them to change their minds or to find something else.
Rory- looks like we will be having babies in the same month again, I am due on the 16th Oct (I think, hopefully having a dating scan in the next week or so).
Bath- Did you end up finding a job last year, or have you put the search on hold?
Anyone else's Junie start school this year? Tori has started Kindy this year (she is the youngest in her class as cut of is 30th June) she is doing 5 full days a fortnight, 2 days one week and 3 the next. The kindy is part of the primary school that she will just follow through too as she progresses. She just loves it, she is so ready to be at school and has settled in really well. Makes me a bit sad to think that she is at school already, and someone else has such a big influence over her life, but her teacher is lovely which is great.
Other than that, just busy settling back into my own classroom, I am working 3 days a week this year which I am finding quite tiring, the first week was a bit overwhelming, both kids got sick, Pete and I got sick, I found out I was pg and we started decorating our house- sheesh, so we have taken a deep breath and started over again this year.
Anyway I just wanted to stop in and say hi, I do read this thread often (I am a self confessed lurker) but neve seem to have enough time to stop in a write a reply.
Thanks girls - I hate being a whinger and don't often gripe about anything but I feel I have to with this move! I emailed my more senior boss and explained all the reasons why I didn't want to move. Monash always profess to be very family friendly so I made sure I emphasised what impact it would have on my children. If I have to move, Clayton would be better and I told them I would be happy to go there. I'm sure I'll get some response next week. Fingers crossed!!!!
Maya - that was my main complaint, the traffic! It's awful heading that way. I want to stay with Monash, it just might be in a different job and not at bloody Caulfield! I will make sure I save you the mag. I think your idea is excellent, might as well make the job worth while. And all that excavated dirt could be put to good use? If we meet in Belgrave on a Wed and then we can do EP? Or city on a Monday? Marley the People - PML!!! That is so cute.
Bath - what time would you have to leave Belgrave to get back in time to pick up Wade? Otherwise city is fine on a Monday. Did DH have any luck at the 3 store? That excess sounds pretty normal. It's their ploy to make sure you don't claim!
Ali - no school for Marley yet, I wish!!! She will do her kinder through creche due to my work hours so she will go 2 full days per week. I saw Tori's pics, she looked so cute in her uniform. As a teacher yourself, do you find it hard letting someone else teach her? How exciting to be pregnant again, and Rory too!!
Rory - that's fantastic news about the HB trial, you'd be the perfect candidate.
Tali - is it Thursday you leave? I think the weather should be great for you. You'll have such fun! I was thinking of suggesting they compensate me for the move, but then I might actually have to go lol!!! I would prefer not too, so left that bit out.

Great to see you Ali! My job search has seemed to be put on hold... I've been too busy! I mainly wanted to make sure Niall's kinder/creche was as good as it seemed before committing to a job. Sometimes you can't tell until they have been for a week or so. But the good news is that it IS! Yay! Even after 4 days straight he wants to go back for more. Sometimes I drop him off as early as 9am and don't collect him until 5.50pm but he always seems happy to be there. He idolises his kinder teacher Ben.... and his creche carers are very warm. So to answer your other question: Niall does a kinder program for 3 - 4 year olds for about 2 hours per day, 4 days a week... so yes, essentially he has commenced formal learning... but this centre is not part of a school (Tori sounds like she is going to a place similar to where Verity went; an ELC attached to a school) so I don't really think of Niall as having started school yet (but we did with Verity at the same age). So good to hear your pregnancy is going well :D It's so much more tiring the second and subsequent times around so make sure you don't over do it!
Mel: The train trip between Belgrave and the city (I would probably have to go right in and then back out onto the Hurstbridge line) would be over an hour... more like an hour and a half. So it would go: leave Ivanhoe 9.30am get to city and depart for Belgrave at about 10am then arrive at 11am. To return I'd have to leave Belgrave at 2pm I think to get back her by 3.30pm ? That's assuming the City - Belgrave trip is an hour. I should look into it. But maybe 2 hours up there isn't so bad? :)
Got my iphone fixed. Also bought a new, more shock absorbant cover. $300 all up :( Next thing is to get iphone insurance for $14 a month as we were originally offered. Girls, if any of you get an iphone buy a really padded cover a.s.a.p and consider insurance specifically for it. The glass screen is so very fragile... I dropped it less than a meter... my other phone wouldn't have been even scratched. Walking around with a iphone seems to be as risky as walking around with a crystal glass :doh: The cover i bought is chunky and ugly but that's how it's gotta be I guess... there doesn't seem to be a lanyard that connects to them, this could work.
Mel: forgot to add that I really hope you at least get a role at Clayton. Nothing worse than having to commute long distances by car in heavy traffic especially when you have children in creche that charge $1 per minute after 6pm if you are late. The bus i caught on Friday was late and I only just made it by about 4 minutes... I was a wreck! I often walk... it's only 4 bus stops away... and it would have been quicker on Friday ...unusual hold up with heavy traffic.
Amanda - go you good thing! Man here I was thinking three was going to be hard work LOL! Do you know your due date?

Rory not sure I'm thinking I'm about 5weeks maybe, will be going to the Drs on Tuesday and getting an appointment for a dating scan then, so will hopefully know more in maybe a week or two. Fingers crossed everything is alright tomorrow at the scan.
Oh good works Chicky! Do let is know your EDD - all going well there'll be two more bubs in our group by November :)

Ali - congrats again to you too! i think diff states do school differently. nixon wont be starting school until 2012, but he started preschool this year (or kindy melbournites call it) its 2 days a week. next year it willk be 3 days a week.
Rory- hows everything going? spotting stopped?
I got a new job!! still doing tupperware but need something more stable with how much i earn a week.
There were 65 applicants and i got the job!! its p/t reception for a chiropractor/podiatrist and its only 10min from home! I will be working 3 x 6hr shifts on a thurs/fri/sat
starting next week on a monday for some training,m there is 4 receptionists that job share so doing a few diff shifts to meet them all and have some training!

Oh, man, this is my challenging year with Oscar! No terrible two's, but I knew I had something coming, and it's really kicking in now! I feel terrible because often he gets me when I'm strung out, too, and my usual tools get left in the corner in favour of the handier short fuse and yelling caper - my speaking voice is getting husky :( Between him and the annoying little white dog who barks suddenly whilst inside my bedroom, at the bedroom window (never thought I could actually sound like a pirate!)...sheesh!
Anyhow, he has some really fantastic moments, so it's all balanced out. I started him in a creative drama class that uses lots of songs and some creative art. I thought it might be too much for him, but he seems to be coping well with his week. If it's too much then I'll just cut my losses. He goes to Kindergym on Mondays and spends the rest of that day with MiL, has creche on Tuesdays (by the time we get there...) and on Wednesdays we have the Spanish speaking playgroup (though next week I'll go to the homebirth meeting) and then the drama class. Thursdays is a free day (and when not so warm we can give a horse visit a go, if I think he's gonna listen to me) and some Fridays we have Booby Club, otherwise, it's ours. It's a big week, but I think that while T is so little giving him something to wrap his brain around is a good thing, and when we're settled into MiL's place after settlement we can wind back and enjoy each other.
Tali - how's your move going? When's it all going to take place?
Bath and Mel - sorry I haven't locked in a day yet. I've been into the city two Mondays in a row, but it was to visit a sick quasi-relative, adn didn't want to squish too much in (I sort of just spend the trip in and out processing what's going to happen and what Rey means to me, IYKWIM). Soon enough he'll be transferred to the hospital near his home, which means I can take Oscar with me on another day, cos he likes it out there (hospy is near the family home, which has lots of kids and lots of space with two calves to play with!). SO, long story short is that Mondays are now my good day and I'm easy for venue.
Bath - how has Niall adjusted to Wade being at school?
Rors - so glad all is steady as she goes! I keep finding out about people being pregnant - anothery just today will be due in October...October is all the rage ATM ;)

Maya, 3 year olds are always alot worse than 2's he will settle down once he is in kindy, that year before kindy starts is always a killer for most kids...
We move to Moranbah next week, will be all in on the friday, it doesnt quite seem real yet, but the good thing is that we should be able to save a LOT more and do it faster now, So that we can buy a house, and the best bit is BHL has decided that it should be Melb, even though we both hate the cold, its just too hard been away from good family support, expecally when I end up going back to work, I will need my family to help out on the school hols every now and then... so the next 16mths will be all saving and no play, which helps been in a mining town with nothing to do :p...
Hows the packing going when do you move into you new place, and when do you start the fun part building!
Last weekend I had my very short visit home... It was wonderful, very hard to have to say good bye, harder still with two sisters UTD and knowing that we wont be able to come home at xmas, so wont be seeing there babies until they will be almost a year old... But not much I can do about that... I have to say Melbourne turned on the weather for me, it was LOVELY, I think I was the only person in Melbourne that was sleeping under my covers lol, It would be so lovely if Melbourne could have weather like that all the time ( I know you wont agree with me there Bath lol )... But I will just have to learn to enjoy it when it come... will have to end up visiting MIL every winter I think...
well thats about it enjoy your day.. God I could do with a nanna nap already crazy, hope I am not coming down with something...
Just a quicky... Am about to dash out the door to collect Wade from
school. All is well. I'm trying to be good and avoid sitting infront of the 'pure too much while Niall is at kinder crèche but in reality I am getting my fix via my phone now but at least it's usually while waiting for public transport or Wade to emerge from class. Great to hear that your Mondays are going to be free Maya... they are still the best days for me... For a meetup. Congrats Nic!!!! Sounds like an ace job... If I knew how to manage the new fangled phone systems they have in reception these days that would be something I'd love to do as well. I'm considering doing a short course on Medical Terminology soon though so who knows where that might lead. Good to hear your preg is going well Rory and also that you gave decided to brave the cold and return to Melb Tali :)

Maya - I hear ya!!!! My fuse has gotten shorter and shorter over the years lol!!! Marley just knows how to push my buttons, and me, being the idiot, falls for it. I hope its like Tali said, gets better when they go to kinder. Although Marley will do kinder via creche. She is so fabulous on her own, the minute Chelsea is home the bickering starts. And Marley loves to shout, all the time! Then Chelsea shouts back - such a peaceful house ;) How is the packing going? Are you a hoarder or a culler???
Tali - great news about the move. Save, save, save then we can have you back in Melb!!! We can buy you some thermal underwear to make winter bearable!!! I'm so glad you had fun last week. The pics looked great. Your mum must have been so surprised.
I went to see surgeon about my toes and unfortunately they have to remove both toenails - OUCH! They are too bad to fix so they are coming off. Bit scary but at least after I get over the initial pain, they will be normal again (albeit without a toenail for up to 5 months!). So booked in for 19th March. Crutches for a week and only walking when necessary on my heels. That should be fun!!! I better get used to no shoes for a while as the toes are packed alot to avoid infection and hopefully avoid anyone stepping on them.
My move to Caulfield has been made official. They have allowed me 15 minutes paid time at the start and end of the day for travel time so they will pay me from 8.30am but I don't have to be at work until 8.45am and then I can leave at 4.15pm but be paid until 4.30pm. So I am happy they decided to do that as it will help. Went over and chose my office and its really nice. Very bright and has a really big window (that still doesn't open!), nice furniture. I did a practice run home on Thursday and it wasn't too bad. About 10 mins extra travel but that might have been a good day? I don't move over until end of June so at least I don't have to rush.

maya- im still doing Tupp but i think it will slowly die off now with the new job. I stepped down as a manager 6m ago and have been enjoying just a demonstrator level and getting all the gifts!! i had an awesome week a few weeks ago and sold $5K in one week! (lol couldnt even do that when i was a manager)
so i have afew parties still coming up but i wont be chasing for them, ive been doing it 3yrs now so have a pretty good client base and can just do a party for someone when they want or some outside orders. are u still on the books?
i see my old Manager Antoinette is still going really strong! i always look out for Evolution in the recognition and there seems to be lots going really well.
Mel- i hope you had a nice birthday! ouch about your nails, thats coming up this week? i hope it all goes well and your not in too much pain or discomfort
been busy with thr outside reno's still going on, having Nix's party here in 5wks time so trying to get as much done as possible! just having a break from some painting while dh gets more and next w/e is dedicated to gardening!
the job is going well. im still training, gosh there is a lot to learn! its not all about taking phone calls lol! i have about 2-3wks left of being with someone then i'll be on my own!
Nic - reno's are looking great, can't wait to see the finished product. Love the new deck! Sounds like you are really enjoying your new job - you'll be fine when you are on your own.
Had an awesome birthday and lots of celebrations!! Firstly a bbq dinner with my family, then my actual birthday and DH got me tickets to see Jersey Boys 8 rows from the front (can't wait) and sent flowers to my work, then on Saturday I did a Chocolate Indulgence Tour through the city with 15 of my beautiful girlfriends. What a day, it was fantastic. Went to some amazing chocolate shops and tried some delicious morsals. And we walked through some of the laneways, it was so much fun. Then we headed down to Federation Wharf and had drinks, then dinner at a beautiful tapas restaurant at Fed Square. They had a Bollywood Festival on so we got to watch the dancing and listen to some great music. Got home around 9.30pm so it was a very long day (got into the city at 11.30am!).
Bath - have you been to the GPO Building? There is a a chocolate shop there called Cacao - you have to go there! They serve coffee and the most amazing display of chocolates you have ever seen. Most of them are hand polished! They are works of art. I bought something at every shop (we visited Koko Black, Cacao and the new Lindt cafe) and then we finished, went to Tiffany to drool over their jewellery!
Toe operation is this Friday. Still getting nervous but glad to be getting it over and done with. Having dreams that the kids will step on my toes - OUCH! Will have to be extra careful with them around but I have to keep my feet elevated for 48 hours so that will help.

Hi girls... I've been quiet here I know... so sorry meet up plans haven't eventuated. DH and i have had major issues with Verity :( In a nutshell she has been sneaking out of the house every few nights (unbeknownst to us) since late last year to hang out with a criminal boyfriend (has held up a servo with a knife and is known to police... it's been confirmed) and he's got her into smoking dope.... and that's only the start. As a result I have had to check on her several times a night... almost hourly on some nights (weekends were the comon night apparently)... it's like having a newborn that you cant co-sleep with. I've been so tired. So to cut a long story short we are all going to Tamworth this weekend. Verity may be staying there to board at a school DH and I have been in contact with. My sis and aunt/uncle have rallied with lots of support. We have no support down here (obvious when Wade was in hospital in January) and DH has finally realised that his family are not to be counted on to help in times like this. DH said that he will look to move up as a family in September, coincides with the end of the bank year and the lease on our house.
I'm so sorry i haven't sent the two cards and token gifts for your birthdays Mel and Maya... you have both been in my thoughts and miss you both heaps. I'm not sure what's going to happen... it's a day by day thing at this stage.
One positive thing to come out of it though is that I'll get to see my Nana who doesn't have long with us next week :) And also i'm going to get my Learner's License renewed this week so i can get some drving practise up... i always told DH that I would drive if we moved to the country.... always a silver lining I guess.
I'm down but not out... love to all :grouphug:
ETA: DH bought me a box of Cacao chocolates from that shop once... yes, gorgeous... i even took a photo and it's in my BB gallery.
