SP - Totally with you there. Hurry up and show us some sun! Melbourne weather has been giving us teasers, but nothing solid!
Just had a thought tonight - how many of you are still holding your LO to sleep. DD will drop off during the day in random places, highchair, pram, her little couch, even the floor on the floorboards one day, but at night, she still won't sleep unless I hold her.
Tomorrow is our MCHN appointment, so wonder what her measurements are.

I'm breastfeeding to sleep for her day nap but at night it is a bit more hit and miss so she usually ends up in the ergo to be rocked and sung into sleepyville. We are still having 2-3 night wake-ups for milk and maybe a few times a week I'll need to pop her in the carrier again to help her get back to sleep. I just think 'at least its exercise' hehe.
Still holding K to sleep here, but as we co sleep i kind of expect it.
MG can't wait to hear how u MCHN appt went.
SP I can't wait for some warmer weather, my girls are so sick of being stuck in the house.
JF K still wakes at least once a night, not for a drink but for cuddles. I'm so use to broken sleep now that i doubt i could sleep a whole night without waking.
Cool, thanks girls, glad I'm not the only one still rocking/cuddling to sleep. Last night was a disaster. She fell asleep in my arms, and then I transferred her into the cot as normal. As soon as her head hit the pillow, she was a screaming mess! Hiccupy horrible screams that didn't stop until I picked her up again and then it took another hour before she was asleep enough for her to go to bed and not wake. Grrrr.
MCHN today was good - we had a relief nurse who was really lovely, made me wish I had her all the time. DD's measurements are weight 10.92kg, height 77.5cms, head 48.5cms. Her height is a little below average, but the nurse said to not worry, because her muscles in her legs were confined for so long, it will take some time for them to stretch out and grow, so she should catch up. Her head is big, but we're from a family of big headed people, so not surprising really! She was happy with the way DD was walking, so big yay there! Now I have to decide if I get the chicken pox vacc for her. We've had all the others, but not sure about this one. What are your thoughts on that?
MG she's only 2.5cms shorter than K.
K weighs 10.4kg & is 80cms with a 46.5cm head.
M at 18 months was 12.5kg, 85cms & 48cm head. Huge difference between my girls, I always knew Maddi would be a giant.
It's great she is happy with how your DD is walking :)
Ella was 11.4 kg and 85cm and her head 46.5 so she has a little head but is tall for her age. looks like as tall as M!

Ella is not one to be cuddled to sleep, she def loves her cot the only place shell sleep and in the car. I dont know when to put her in a bed? ill have to do it before the new baby comes but hope to leave it as long as possible but not too long :doh:
Ella had her chicken pox vaccination. She had had all the rest so i figured she should have had this one too. Its a hard one as when we were young we all got it and it seems part of growing up. I do remember reading once of a little girl who died of chicken pox and it stuck in my head. I wonder how long it lasts as its worse to get it as an adult. ummmm maybe i should have looked into it. what is everyone else doing are your kids having it?
Measurements are sounding great from you girls too! DH and I were talking tonight about it all - how awesome is this age? DD is repeating everything we say lately, today it's been "All Gone" and "Okay", completely in context too. She makes me laugh more and more.
Kell - DD is still in her cot, and we've decided to leave her there until she is showing signs of attempting to climb out. At the moment, she's quite happy to call out and I go and get her in the mornings, but I guess it's a matter of time until she tries to get out herself. But we don't need the cot again yet!!!! I'm still amazed at watching her walk around, she looks so proud doing it. She's getting faster now and showed the first attempt at running tonight! I'm so proud. How are you feeling?
Still not sure about the chicken pox vaccination. I'll do some research tomorrow and figure it out then, I guess.
Im glad the needles are over till she is four such a hard decision to make to get them done or not. I know a few people who dont get the chicken pox one done.
They are so cute arnt they - we get "more" all day long and no they seem to be the favs at the moment and mum 1000 times till im batty lol
Another question anyone toilet training soon i think ella is almost ready but dont want to push her too early. She hates nappies its driving me crazy!
I wish we were up to toilet training!!!!!! DD's favourite habit is to drop one in the bath, she's not a fan of doing it in her nappy. GRRR. I asked the nurse about it today, and she said that she'll pretty much tell us when she's ready. She gave me some paperwork about it from a website, I'll get it out tomorrow Kell and PM you the details.
I'm not stressing about TT just yet, Maddi was late to learn & it didn't bother me at all.
K will come tell us when she has done poos etc... so i guess she'll TT earlier than Maddi.
Mo - Wow getting married! Great!! Best of luck with the preparations.
Kell and MG - we havent had the chicken pox vax as T has had so many colds and stuff this winter and I was soooo over it that I didnt want to risk dealing with a reaction. We will go to the GP soon and have it though. I know chicken pox is one of those milestones that we all went through but I am with you Kell - some can die from it and in adulthood it is worse - shingles!!
Measurements - HC - 47.1cm, Weight - 9540g, Length - 78.9cms So a very Tiny T we have eh!
Too cute at this age. she walks her doll in the pram to the park and puts her on the swing and slide now. OMG kill me now its so amazing having a girl finally!!!!
12 teeth. seems to be teething again at the moment.
Goes to bed with short breast feed and 20 or so stories : )
No waking overnight til between 6 and 7am. I dont go to her straight away if its too early and she talks to herself for a while. Day light savings is making things a bit tricky though.
Sleeps 2 hours in mid day - thats all now. Goes down OK. If I am home she asks for the breast though.
Doesnt eat many veggies! We all love our veggies and my boys ate them well. Mmmm. Too spoilt perhaps.
Saying lots of words and recognises many more. Head butts us when she is frustrated!!!!!! Not good. Also throws her drink or food. May lie on the floor in protest but no crying. Not sooky. Very strong in personality though. Rambunctious at times. Hugs other kids very tightly and tackles them to the ground on occasion! Gentle with animals and walked the dog the other day.
Hey everyone! I had good intentions of coming back to do some personals but we ended up going on an impromptu holiday for DF's days off. It was nice to get away and have a few days of just the 3 of us.
I hope you girls down south are getting some nice weather. It is so hot here, we had the air con on today for the first time. Been to the swimming pool a few times last week and starting swimming lessons in a few weeks. A loves the water and to splash and kick.
MG - It must be so exciting having your DD so mobile and reaching so many new milestones. Especially the ones that seemed like they were never going to happen because of the brace.
We are still feeding to sleep here. A will absolutely not go to sleep anywhere except the car or in bed with boobie. It is a pain and I've been having a bit of trouble getting her to sleep during the day but it seems to be working out now. Waking up earlier around 7 with a 1.5-2hr nap about 12.30 and then bed around 8-9. She generally sleeps through depending on whether she has a day time nap.
Kell - Wow 10 weeks already, you're a quarter of the way there! We're undecided atm on when to start TTC #2. We have a potty but haven't really been forcing the issue. A likes to sit on it when I am running the bath and knows what it's for but isn't too keen on it. Maybe she'll prefer to go straight onto the toilet, I dunno.
Chesire - Looks like M had an awesome time on her b'day. I bet K had a great time too!
JF - Hope you are feeling better. You must be pretty coordinated to put the carrier on and put Immy into it in the middle of the night. If I woke up completely it would take me forever to get back to sleep I reckon.
SP - A loves her vegies! Carrots and sweet potato are her favourites, followed by peas and mashed potato. We have a very stubborn personality here too which can be difficult sometimes, but I figure at least she won't be bossed around by other kids and hopefully won't end up too bossy herself. She was being so gentle with the animals up until recently when she pulled the cat's tails because they were trying to walk away from her and has started trying to mount the dogs pretending that they are horses.
MrsC - Hi! I'm glad that you have the allergy thing under control. We have been really lucky so far. I would hate for A to develop an allergy to nuts, it seems so common these days. Good luck with TTC!
JM - Hope you had a nice holiday back in Oz. I bet it feels like a distant memory now though. Good luck TTC!

SP - T sounds so cute! Love that she walked the dog!! We had two dogs but DD is happy to talk to them and look at them, but she doesn't like to touch them, which is lucky for the dogs I suppose!
FW - We're still so amazed at the physical things DD is doing. It's great!
Yesterday, we had our first public tantrum, and boy it was enormous. A BB member gave me Titanic tickets for the museum, so off we went. Got there, had something to eat, DD had a wander around outside, no issues whatsoever. She was laughing and playing, all good. Put her in her pusher, still fine, queued up and went into the exhibition. She got a bit restless in the first room so we picked her up and she was okay. Started in the second room and she started to grizzle. By the third room, she was screaming, kicking, headbutting. In a museum of all places!!!!! Nothing we could do would settle her, took her to the previous room, and she got worse, so we had to go back out the entrance and leave. Got to the car, she's screaming, I'm crying, into the car, and five minutes down the road, the ratbag is asleep. I was so disappointed that I didn't get to see the exhibition, been nagging DH since May. But when I got home, he gave me some money so I could rebook the tickets, so we're going to try again (minus DD!!!).

We're still rocking Susie to sleep at night, some nights I just get her close and she falls asleep in the cot, but most nights we wait till shes just fallen asleep then pop her in bed. day time she just hops in her cot, pops the thumb in, music goes on and sometime in the next 10 - 30 minutes amidst chatter she falls asleep!
we're not planning on doing the chicken pox vaccine. I haven't seen any proof it actually works, they have no idea how long it lasts for, and the majority of the time its worse the older you are. I know a family with 6 kids - 3 had vaccine, 3 didnt, all had the chicken pox as bad as the other! not that I've heard anything bad about the vaccine, and we've done all the others, but think we'll give this one a miss

Kell- No TT'ing here although she has a nappy off most of the day and does take herself to the potty sometimes, mainly following her sister. Lu was over 2 and TT quite easily, so i'm in no hurry. But if you think Ella is ready, go for it. :)

Decided to get DD's chicken pox vacc. I thought about it so much I was an anxious mess when we were there, and she didn't even flinch. Glad the next lot of vaccs aren't for a long time now.

Mo- that is the worlds hardest thing i think. We will be under NSW if the girls start school here, so wont be starting prep until 2013. If we're in Vic, i think i will see how the girls are going. I was always the youngest but didn't have any problems socially or academically. But there are pretty strong arguments for delaying entry.

The school here in PNG runs under the NSW curriculum. :)

Kell - That's my reasoning too. My brother turned 5 in the April, and struggled - even a teacher told mum that it would've been better if he had been held back the extra year (but that was when he was in year 8 so it would've been good to know way before then :) )

Kell - My Bro was held back from starting school as well. He was a Nov baby but definitely wasn't ready. I think it depends on the individual kid and when it comes to the time you will know if Ella is ready or not.
Not much is happening here. We had a day of shopping yesterday and spent the vouchers that we got from family and friends for our engagement party. It was so nice to be able to buy stuff without actually having to spend any money! If only I could source a never ending supply of vouchers, haha.
Just found out that after more than a year TTC my sis is pregnant. She had a miscarriage at 13 weeks a few years ago and thought that she was about 6-7 weeks. She thought that she was having another miscarriage so went to the hospital and had a scan, everything is good with bub and turns out she is actually 14 weeks already!
FW the twos was a walk in the park compared to the threes.
Congrats to your sister, she must be so exicted & no we are having a teeny tiny wedding.
As for Tantrums my girls have very different tanties, Kodi is the kinda toddler who lays on the floor kicking & crying when throwing tanties it's so cute compared to Maddi who has always been so dramatic when throwing tanties, she slams doors, yells, hurls objects at anything or anyone & the best part of her tanties is the high pitch scream that could shatter glass & burst ear drums.
Maddi is so dramatic that i think she'll be perfect for acting when she gets older.
Mo - PLEEASE don't say that the threes are worse!!!! DD has a horrible habit of headbutting me when she's really tired and upset and if she can't get to me, she'll hit her head with her hand (like a "doh" sort of action). It isn't nice.
FW - How exciting for your sister! I hear you on wanting to source a never ending supply of vouchers!

DD has broken through three of her incisor teeth - two within two days of each other, so it's been a bit rough lately with sleep and tantrums. I'm stuffed. I've finally been able to get her back into an afternoon nap, thanks to the pram. She'll nod off just after lunch if we go for a walk, and yesterday I didn't go because of the rain, but popped her in the pram and pushed her back and forward and she dozed off. Today was the first day she woke up not screaming, so :crossfingers: we're having a breather at the moment before the last tooth comes through. Sunday was the worst, got about three hours sleep in total and then had to babysit my niece for seven hours - there is only seven months between them so it can be a handful. Hope everyone is well :hug:
MG yep the threes are by are the worse so far, I'm not looking forward to the teenage years i think they'll be the worst!
Our 12 week scan was perfect our baby is so cute so looking forward to meeting bubs in six months or so!
Glad to be almost out of the 1st trimester and nasuea going away just waiting for energy to come back or maybe its an energetic toddler tiring me out lol

Yeah Mo, 3's suck the big ones, or maybe i've just had a bad day.
So after me saying we're not TT. Sas has pretty much TT herself in the past week. Because it's hot here, she doesn't wear many clothes, she started taking her nappy off and sitting on the potty and has done really well all week. I was amazed. Lu was DEFINITELY not ready at this age. She's started having some cracker tantrums too! Mainly related to BF'ing, she wants to feed all the time and i try to discourage her. I don't mind a couple of times a day but not all the time. :doh:

FW - Am I right in thinking it was you that lived in Kinglake? It snowed there on the weekend and we went for a drive, just amazing!! So so beautiful.
As for TT from here - should I get the potty out? DD's been pulling on her nappy lately and getting upset when she's had a wee. Yesterday DH said toilet and DD pulled on her nappy then too. She's giving no indication as to when she wants to go, so I have no idea when to actually lead her to the potty.
