Popping in to say hi.

Life's been pretty **** for us lately, as some of you have read. We're trying to keep it all together, and slowly getting there. One day at a time.

I had my appointment with my ob about my fibroids and he said not to operate and get them removed. So that's something positive at least! Now the decision of TTC is totally up to us, if and when. We're not in a financial position to do it now, so we'll wait and see what's down the track. Maybe we'll win tattslotto! DD is going really well, she's chatting and singing away all the time. We catch her in the car, singing to whatever song is on the radio, her voice goes up and down properly with the notes. For all that her hip problems set her back physically, the time she couldn't move around certainly let her language escalate. We're getting just the odd tantrum now and then, so hopefully that will fizzle out and not peak up again.

Tanya - did you get results for your son's test? How did it go?

It's still only very early & i thought it may have been a chemical because the lines were so faint but i finally got a decent dark line today & a few of the TTC girls confirmed they can all see a decent line so i feel slightly more confident that this one will be sticky.
I'm not making any announcements & trying not to get my hopes till after i see my GP.

I didn't even know you were TTC! See, now it feels like I'm the only one still chatting in here who isn't pg or TTC!!!!! :ROFL:

We only started this month, I finally got the all clear by my specialist so we decided to start right away.
I guess that's why i don't really believe it, seems too good to be true.

@PacRakMG : re: my son's penicillin allergy test - we haven't got a "result" as yet, as he didn't have any visible reaction (as yet). we just finished the 7-day course of anti-biotics yesterday and last time he didn't show any reaction until after the course had finished. (then he came out in these huge hives)....
if nothing happens, then we don't know for sure whether the hives was just a reaction to the middle-ear infection (i'm hoping this is the case, as a penicillin allergy would be a pain)

@kellbell : so another 2-year space gapper? ours will be almost 2 years to the day (but hopefully not spot on!)... this second baby is due 2 days after #1 but #1 was 2 weeks early

AFM: i had a terrible day with DS yesterday - i personally think it was due to the penicillin (i guess i needed a reason for it).... but now i'm dreading the thought of having a cholicky baby, as his grumpy mood was hard for me to handle. He is normally a chirpy lad (which i guess makes a mood swing like this even harder to manage) but yesterday would not take him nap - mummy is NOT ready for a sleep-free day!! and was pretty grizzly and inconsolable the whole day. every time i needed to role my eyes, i reminded myself that there is usually a reason for whenever he behaves like this (upset tummy or some kind of sickness) but i felt pretty broken yesterday. i couldn't imagine having a kid with a real behaviour disorder (touch wood, and kudos to any of you that are in this situation).

my psychology exam is creeping up - feb 17, so it's time for me to hit the books and get focused (as much as one can focus at 30 weeks pregnant!). Today I'm reading about infant development, which I find really interesting....

Tanyaya - I actually have a penicillin allergy and it hasn't been a problem, there are antibiotic alternatives for everything I've ever needed but hopefully, you won't have to worry about that :hug:

Can't believe how close some people are to having another baby!! That is so exciting!

MG - I'm still here, completely single so no chance of a baby in the near future :hug: it has been hard watching others have siblings but I don't know if I could cope with two, DD is a bit of a bossy boots in this house!!

We aren't planning any more babies yet, maybe in 6 months time, I would love to give DD a baby brother or sister. My sister is due in April and DD is so excited about the baby, it's very cute to watch.

Sounds like lots has been happening for everyone - some great news, some trauma and overcoming.
We have been busy as DH is recording and mix/mastering an album for a guy at the moment and we have all been involved.
I am back at work after a 3 week break. We went to Bendigo for part of the recording process.
Tirion is getting more 2 every day - you know the bossy thing and the loudening demands.
Welcome to Tanaya:D - and dont give in if you can summon the courage girl. Believe me by teenage they just walk all over yo if you do. Also dont feel bad when you do give in though coz that is completely normal. They need to know that you are in control of the situation when they are feeling out of control (shrieking, flailing etc.). All the best stuff I have read and experienced confirms this. Hold them and reassure them but dont give them what they want all the time or they will struggle with instant gratification and have a sense of entitlement like the rest of gen Y when they grow up (well a lot of them will anyway). Sorry to all the Gen y ers in this post - not wanting to dig - its probably gen z now any how. I like to be a bit controversial in my posts and have a bit of an opinion but I am 42 with 2 teens and a toddledr so think i have a bit of life experience to go with the attitude. TIOLI.

PRMG - Finances are the biggest obstacle too - but I will need to do it before too long as I wreckon I would like no more than a 3 year gap.
Hey I had fibroids but the doc didnt recommend treatment either. Apparently they are normalish.

SP - Yeah, I know fibroids are normal, problem is the positioning with mine. When I was pg, one grew to about 6cm and it was in the birth canal, so we weren't sure that DD would be able to engage. Problem for me was if I had to have a c/s, there was another large fibroid where the incision needs to go, leaving me with no choice but to have a vertical incision. Lucky DD got past the fibroid, but the ob told me to look into getting them removed before falling pg again. He's decided now that I'm better off leaving them alone.

PRMG - It sounds like you went through quite an ordeal with those fibroids. It can be quite a problem if they are in a bad spot. I cant remember what you said in the previous post exactly. Are you still having them removed?

No, the ob said that now that they have shrunk down again, to leave them alone, they are unlikely to get any bigger than they did if I was to fall pg again. The thing that doesn't sit well with me is what happens in the case I do fall pg and have a bigger baby and the fibroids grow again? It's just a waiting game. The scarring that would occur if the fibroids were to be removed would leave me weak for any subsequent pregnancies, so we're leaving them alone.

Girls are going well, Maddi is moving up a class at swimming & i'm so proud of her.
Kodi is learning to give attitude but she is so cute. She is such a chatterbox.

hello everyone!

just trying to come in and find the end of this thread- has it really been late January since I posted....!?

i guess so, as i finally had my uni exam today (summer school, first-year psychology subject). it was fine, despite an awful night's sleep (i think DS is getting his 2y.o. molars, i can see something budding).... tonight i had a bowen massage - bliss!!

and now i'm off to watch the big bang theory with hubby

tanyaya - you are doing well to manage study and your bubs. Did you have to do a lab report at summer school? I remember they were a bit of a chore when i did my Psychology units. How is the teething going?
Mo - That is great re the swimming school for Maddi. T is a chatterbox too. Is it a girl thing?
PRMG - Its such a big decision isnt it! we have similarly deliberated for ages since last years episode.

SP - It's a massive decision. And I'm finding that if I wait too long, I'm not going to want to go back to newborn stage!

Tanya - Hope your exam went well.

We're off to Adelaide in a week and a bit, taking a road trip. We're hoping to leave really early in the morning (like around 4), so DD sleeps in the car for at least half way, here's hoping. She's a great traveller normally but I think eight hours of driving will push it! We're hoping to get about five hours in before she wakes up and then we'll find somewhere for breakfast. We're really looking forward to it. We bought a campervan, really old thing, but neat on the inside, and we can't wait to use it. We're staying right on the beach, about 4kms from Glenelg. Really hoping for some nice weather, our last four holidays have rained on us almost every day, all day. Joy!

Toilet training has completely halted for now. She was running around nude the other day and I kept asking her if she wanted to go to the toilet. She kept saying no and finally got really upset with me. Then she promptly went into her room and pooed on the floor! She shouted out, "Oh No" and "Yucky". Nice present for me! She's really anti the toilet, hates the potty even more, so I'm not going to push it. She's still in our bed every night, starts in hers, sleeps a solid 4-5 hours and then is in our bed. But that's about it. Can't believe they're all two soon!!

PRMG - "Oh No" - Hilarious!!! Out T has done similar with wees. Likes sitting on potty fully dressed and reading a book lately. Its OK it may just be that their brains havent connected the actions.
Your holiday sounds lovely. Have a terrific time and fingers crossed NO RAIN! We are planning to go to the beach overnight on Friday and stay at a B & B for a change of scenery.
T climbed out of her cot at nap time. DH was home and I was at work. He found her playing in her room to his surprise.
Latest phrases to surprise us "I cant find it" and "What a good idea". Also counting and saying days of the week and knows which letter comes next with the alphabet. Exciting times.
And 2 nd Birthdays on the way! What are people doing this year?

i agree they are so cute and funny - tonight ella says there is a crocodile in the bath and it bit her on the toes haha

The only downside i'm suffering from a really bad morning sickness, Ob said i'm starting to get dehydrated & if i keep going the way i am i'll end up in hossy.
I'm really hope it backs off soon I'm so over it!

I haven't been posting much but am still around :)

Our favourite phrase here at the moment is, "Whatcha doin?" She says it to everybody, it's pretty cute!

DF's parents sent us some money to buy a doll for DD for her b'day. I want to get her a cabbage patch doll but I think they wanted like a real life doll. DD will be getting some matchbox cars and a mat with roads on it and a mellissa and doug wooden clock for her b'day. DF will probably buy her something special from him too. We're going to have a party with all of her playgroup friends so I'm sure she'll get heaps of presents from the party and all of our family so I'm not going to go overboard. We went through the old women's weekly birthday cake book (did you know that they are republishing this book!?) and she picked out the train cake :) I made it for my brother about 10 years ago and am looking forward to making it again.

We didn't give any chocolate for easter last year but my mum has bought her an easter basket and we'll probably give her a small bunny and some tiny solid eggs for easter this year.

I just bought DD a dolls house last night, it's old fashioned looking and pink and comes fully furnished. She's right into things like that at the moment and I've always wanted a girlie girl I could buy one for. I saw one a couple of years back and it was over $400!!!!! I got this one a hell of a lot cheaper than that. We've also laybied her some new bedding, so I'll wrap that up for her too. She's into craft so might get her a few bits there too.

We're taking her to a miniature railway for her birthday with our family and I'm making her The Very Hungry Caterpillar out of cupcakes for her cake. I'll put photos up on FB when I've done it, but I want to make a leaf cake and then put the cupcakes on it, holding them in with toothpicks. Lots of green icing, bleurgh!!!!

Sounds like your DD is going to have an awesome birthday PRMG! Where did you get her doll house from? We have been looking at those too, they can get very expensive!

I think Maddi will buy Kodi is an Aquadoodle mat. Phils Aunts are throwing K her party this year which is really sweet.

That isn't good at all Mo! Did your morning sickness get worse with each pregnancy? I had a pretty cruisy first trimester and a horrible third so I'm hoping that I'm lucky next time around too. Hope the new meds make you feel better :)
