AFU, went to the clinic today and Master Aaron hit 9.33kg!!!!
His length is 71cm and his HC is 48cm :shakehead:
So in 3.5 weeks it went up 1cm and is tracking his own graph :wall:
I am seeing his paed next week but the nurse spoke to him and he doesn't seem overly worried. I also want a second opinion and am getting a referral to see a nurosurgen I think his name is Mark Dexter???
Two things cross my mind re his HC. 1 is that yes he does have hydro but 2 he could also have a large head as DH and I are both in the 75%!! Ohhh I don't know?!?!?!?!

Anyway tried some grapes in the fruit bag today and it was a hit!!

Temp 38.8 so have given her some baby panadol and am just about to feed her and put to bed. Poor thing she is a bit out of sorts - hopefully a sleep will sort it out.

Vic - hope CJ is feeling better hun - i would say if she is consistently above 38 before bed, i'd give her a dose to help her through the night.

Nicole - i hear you on getting a second opinion. i would say A is going to have a bigger head as you and DH do (it's kinda in the genes) so that might be adding to the appearance more and making it seem like the hydro is worse

AFU - E got hurt last night - got over excited and headbutted daddy - hurt her mouth and was screaming so much. broke my heart but i let DH deal with it - he was fantastic! she was more unsettled than normal last night - i think she may have had a sore mouth or headache (maybe both) - and has been more agitated today when things hit her mouth (spoon etc) - but seems ok enouhg. she ate a massive lunch at mum's so it can't be hurting too much!

CJ spat out most of the baby panadol, but I got up in the night to check her temp and was down to 36.5 - hooray and she seems much more herself this morning!!:D

Fantastic to hear her temps have gone down...scary hey :shakehead:
My SIL found that when her kids had a temp Panadol didn't really work and she tried Nurofen baby (kids) or whatever it's called?!?!? and that worked allot better with them.

only a brief one this morning - i feel awful. E wasn't interested in sleep from 8.30 til midnight last night - and then i got nothing more than a sleep cycle at a time ALL NIGHT. wouldn't resettle without feeding ALL NIGHT. i managed to get about half an hour of sleep this morning while DH had her in the lounge - he came to wake me when i'd asked him to - and she wanted to feed again! she's feeding every 40 minutes!!!! i'm exhausted - physically i don't feel like i can keep up - but i have no choice - gotta keep going. sigh.

might have to kick DH into the other room tonight - looks like he might have a few hours work tomorrow and i'd rather him not be driving farm equipment on no sleep...

Vic: Glad CJ is better this morning. Sorry she wasn't well :( I have found that panadol mostly gets spat out here too, LOL! Could've just been a little bug she's fighting off. Best thing to do is keep up the boob feeds, I reckon.
BG: Eek, that does sound tiring. Hope it is growth spurt and is over soon. Are you able to get some rest today? Is E's mouth better?
Naomi: That is just awesome re Bailey's sleep! I'm so pleased that he's become so settled and that you're feeling on top of things. I am looking forward to the day when I feel that too ;)

Phoebe is so on-again off-again with the boob. I think we are going to wean. I keep changing my mind and so does she, LOL! Don't know what's wrong today, but she wouldn't even have the boob at naptime. Gave her a bottle of EBM and she didn't want that either. Happily drank the formula and went to bed without too much of a carry-on. I wonder if I am getting AF or something, or if the hot weather makes my boobs taste funny, but she was very clear about what she wanted last night and this morning.
We had a better night last night, even though it was SO HOT all night. We don't have AC so our house was stinking, even with the windows open (it was cooler outside once it got dark). She and I both had had a crying jag in the afternoon so I suppose that tired her out. She only woke twice for bottles and once to have a little drink of water and a resettle. I'm feeling quite tired, not just physically but emotionally too. There's a lot going on. Phoebe's breast refusal (which if it were once and for all would be fine but I never know if she's going to take it or not), and as a follow-on from that, if she's not feeding to sleep then we are having to work on how to settle her now. The whole work thing and money (which is really stressing me out. I hope we get the CCR soon because my credit card is pretty much maxxed out... another reason why switching to formula isn't so appealing right at this point!), and DH being out so much and therefore my feeling unappreciated and alone. I am kind of looking forward to working or doing a short course, but I know that DH is going to get a RUDE shock having to look after both the girls at once. I am glad for their sake it will only be one day a week.

Yaaah for CJ feeling better, we use Baby Dymadon here, its thicker and tastes like orange so the little guy seems to like it, rare that it gets spat out !

Amy - dont you wish P would just make up her mind LOL!! What kind of short course are you thinking? Have you guys had the cool change yet? We had a much cooler day yesterday which should be headed to the Eastern States (we even had a heap of rain!!)

BG - arrrgggh re the sleep cycle wake ups - good to hear DH has a bit of work lined up!

Bailey had another spew/poo this morning. I went to the CYH nurse this morning to get Bailey weighed properly (have only been using my bathroom scales since the brace) and asked about the poo/chucking thing. The nurse said it sounds like a bit of constipation and suggested laying off the weetbix a little (as is wheat based) as Bailey has it for breakfast most mornings and go for oats (porridge) as some babies take a while to build a tolerance to wheat based products and they can be the cause of harder poo, also to add a bit more water to his food or encourage him to drink. She though his immobility v the amount of solids he eats means he may not necessarily poo as easily as he might if he was more active and as he is pushing more with his upper body perhaps which means he is pushing spew out instead of poo sometimes. Anyway, will make the changes she suggested and see what happens, she said if no change to go to the GP. It sounds logical, but I'm not 100% convinced, will give it a few days with the changes before going to the GP. She did say she hadn't heard of it happening before much, so that worries me a little

i had a nap for about an hour - at least i don't feel so i'll i'm going to be sick now - have even managed to stomach some lunch. E is still asleep. not sure if it's her mouth, her teeth, whether my milk is a bit weird due to hormones or the hot weather, whether the change in weather is impacting her (it's cool enough to have her in a long sleeve onesie now - yesterday all clothes were out of the question! ridiculous!). she had two mammoth poops last night as well (only four days since the last ones - better than the 8 or 9 days we've been averaging!) - so many things it oculd have been! poor poppet

naomi - see if you can add some watered down prune or pear juice for him - should help to soften things up a bit

amy - meant to say - i'm really sorry you're still having breast refusal issues - i can't imagine how hard it is to have a baby that is so definite she wants formula one minute, yet wants you at other times. perhaps the hormone thing IS at play now. i also wondered if maybe the bottle is easier for her and she just wants that rather than having to work for BM... hugs hun

Thanks BG - prune juice definately works here - tried and tested :), I am hoping I can eliminate the constipation even occuring in the first place though too, so fingers crossed a few changes will help. Perhaps I just need to be a bit more careful with his diet until he become more active and mobile and therefore 'regular' hehehe

Just wanted to pop in a suggest Vaalia yoghurt for any bubs with constipation. AFter 6 months of HELL, numerous types of formulas and medications, this was the ONLY thing that worked for DS. He had very severe constipation for so long, that he tried not to poo at all which made things worse. 24 hours after his first vaalia experience, he was perfect and has been ever since.

Hi everyone! Just popping in quickly... trying to catch up frm housework I missed yesterday. No fires thankfully but one huge storm that has take a tonne of trees and branches down around here. Will be a pretty decent cleanup.

All going well, Allira cruising furniture easily and now letting go to try and stand on her own.

Naomi: Hmm. Interesting that the nurse hasn't heard of that happening. Your plan of attack sounds good to me - I think I'd do the same, see how things go for a week or so then go to drs.
Interesting about the weet bix - I have been giving P some of that for the last week or so along with some mashed up peach. Might give the porridge a go and alternate or something...
Am thinking of doing a medical admin statement of attainment. There seem to be a few job share positions come up in Medical administration, so I would like to add that course to my resume. It is only 5 Saturdays and isn't going to blow the budget (around $400 - we have a little bit saved up so we can shell out a little for something like this).
Yes, the cooler weather has arrived. Last night was sooooo much nicer than the night before. Yesterday we were all hanging out the front at my folks' place laughing like idiots because the breeze was so lovely.
BG: Sorry E is still out of sorts. It's hard when you don't know what's going on with them, hey. Thanks, we are getting by with the refusal - I am not finding it offensive anymore at least, LOL! I think you are right, at night when she is tired the bottle is a lot faster and easier for her. I am just not sure how much formula she should be having, KWIM? With boob it is easy, I can just offer it to her as much as she wants but am not sure if I can do the same with bottle? In any case, I think I am going to be a bit of a hard mum now- am going to just offer water between 12 and 5 and see how that goes... I really don't want her sleep to deteriorate to the point Natty's did.

Do any of the FF babies in here still have overnight feeds? If so, how many, how much and when? Phoebe is waking usually 3 times a night now, 2 if I am lucky. I don't mind giving her two bottles overnight - she'd only drink 100mls max. But I'm unsure about a third... I wonder if it might fill her up too much so she's less keen to eat during the day, plus I don't want to get into a pattern where she does all her drinking overnight instead of during the day. *Yawn*!
Was glad Phoebe was happy to have the breast during the afternoon and the morning today as went out and forgot to take bottles, LOL! We are in such a weird place feeding-wise.

Amy- Logan doesn't wake up overnight for a feed anymore. He sleeps from about 10pmish til about 6.30amish. He has 3 solid meals a day, and about 4 bottles.

Naomi- I have never heard of the poop with spew thing before. Hopefully you get some answers.

KL- Yep, I'm still here. Family is good.

Vic- We use baby neurofen here. Logan seems to spew up Panadol.

BG- Poor E re headbutting Daddy.

Nicky- Lucky you having Allira on the go. What's Lachie like when she gets into his stuff? Logans headed for Jake and Zacs room a few times, and when I tell them, they quickly go and pick everything up.

Amy - not sure if this FF info is of any use to you but at this age the recommended in take of milk for FF babies is 600-800mls, Bailey doesn't even drink that, I think its a breastfeeding legacy TBH. I make up 4 x 150ml bottles a day now, and its rare that he drinks the whole thing, usually leaves about 30-60mls in the bottle so he is probably getting about 400 - MAYBE 500mls per day if he is lucky. But I do give him a 100ml baby yoghurt at lunch to up the dairy and calcium intake as the CYH nurse said I could count that as part of his milk intake. When he was regularly drinking at night, he was usually having a bedtime bottle about 6pm, then another bottle about 2-3pm and would drink about 120mls. The next bottle would then be 630-7am pre breakfast. According to the formula tin I should be giving him 4 x 210mls each day, but I only make up 150ml as its a waste of formula and its so bloody expensive. Like you I would be inclined to minimise the night bottles where ya can so she gets used to eating a good breakfast and get more sleep if she'll let ya :)

ETA - when Bailey first went onto formula I was giving him 5 bottles - 1 overnight and 4 day, but he never used to drink much of the afternoon one so I dropped it and pushed his lunch back later, but since I have reintroduced it, he has given up the night one, but as we all know every baby is different and I think Bailey was just 'ready' to give up the night one too - lucky for me!

Allira still has one full bottle overnight (between 7.30pm and 7.30am).
I'll give it another month and then she gets water and that's all.

Thanks girls. Naomi, that 600-800ml per day thing is good to know! I think we are ok then. When I am not with her she doesn't really drink much formula: she'd probably only have 300ml total. So that means 3 100ml feeds overnight would still be fine (not that I'm happy to be waking 3 times a night, LOL! But if I HAVE to, it will be ok).
I am trying to get Phoebe onto 3 good meals per day and get a bit more structure to her day, but today it was just impossible. We were on the go all day. I had to get a new windscreen on the car this morning (biiiiiiig stone chip and it had started to crack), so we hung out at the big shops down the road for 2 hours while they did it. Phoebe slept in the stroller but only for 40 minutes. Then we went home for lunch but had to go out again for our fortnightly shopping, so she slept in the carrier, again for only 40 minutes. Then she was sooooo cranky at dinner time she hardly ate anything, then fell asleep on the boob at 6:30. She's awake now, I have fed her some yoghurt and will give her another milk feed (if she'll take the boob, great) before bed. Then only water between 12 and 5. (Though if she's really upset I just don't know if I'll be able to get away with it. I'm not going to let her cry, so if she has another bottle, so be it.)

Snacks - I too find sometimes is very difficult to get structure into the day if lots to do - was easier when they were really little, I was out so much more then! Now I feel mean if am out too much and CJ doesn't get enough floor time, I still am a bit mean sometimes and wake her up if need to go do something but not before 1 sleep cycle - she doesn't seem to mind though in fact her face lights up when we go out the front door.

Cool about the crawling babies - I reckon another 8 weeks before CJ crawls (based on the stages have seen others go through before crawling) so that will be right after IL's leave I reckon - they are her for five weeks (luckily going to Tas, and along Great Ocean Road so not with us constantly - it would drive DH mad!)

Right have to go - my phobia about DH going to bed before me kicking in again - I don't know what happens to the evenings they go so fast, and I have been doing crafty things (creating more clothes for CJ out of old ones, is my latest craze) again and not got on here till late.

Seems weetbix and Bailey dont mix, since he hasn't had it for 3 days now and his poo's are much better, softer, even runny again - Yaaaaaaah!! He hasn't spew/poo'd since and his pooing is so much more easier for him that he has even managed to squeeze two out without me knowing until it wafted up my nose LOL

The weirdest thing happened last night - apparantly Bailey stirred and was yabbering away and I told DH to leave him as he was fine (normally I would at least sneak into his doorway to have a look), then he obviously got upset and started crying and I got out of bed and almost walked into the wall. I dont remember it, I do remember getting back into bed, I think I was sleep walking/talking. Anyway, thats the first time that Bailey stirring hasn't actually woken me properly!! Gawd!! I think I was EXTRA tired, I was slightly worried this morning that I 'slept' through it, but I'm sure if Bailey was actually crying I'd definately wake :o

Well it has been simply ages since I posted on here!!! I have been so busy and it has been stressful and I just couldn't find time or a computer for much of the time.

Nicole- Sorry to hear about your lil un's hydro cephalus issues. That has got to scare you. Jemima has a head over the 97th % and it has concerned us but without the other symptoms. The CHN wasn't worried. Glad to hear they arn't really worried. That is a good sign.

BG, Naomi, Jacinta and Krystie I love all your new Avi's!!!! Makes me want to go and sort out another one for myself!!

BG- sorry to hear bout E's head butt!!! It is aweful when they hurt themselves!!!

Snacks- Aww honey my heart breaks for you with the weaning issues honey! It feels like you are really conflicted about it all. Can I ask why you gave the first formula bottle hon? Is it just that you are getting her ready for when u go back to work or are you worried about your supply? When I was reading one of your posts it reminded me of something my sis said to me. I was giving J a bottle of EBM cos I had to defrost it b4 we moved. She saw me feeding J and advised me not to be the one to give J bottles. She said that if possible DH should give the bottle cos essentially she should assoc me with boobs. Does that make sense? So she knows when she sees me all she will get is a boob and so she won't fuss me. I say that tho without knowing what you motive has been so I don't know whether to offer help or just support you in what seems to be a really hard time, so I will do both :hug:

Vic- I love it how Paed nurses say not to give panadol like that. Emergency nurses and Paed nurses often disagree on this. I always think about how **** I feel with a really high temp and I would rather have a baby sick for 5 days instead of 4 who isn't in constant pain , than get rid of the bug one day early(just as an example) Also I didn't know that panadol had to be kept at below 25. We have been giving J hers and it has almost been constantly above 30 and has been fine so I won't throw our supply out. I agree that there is prob a fairly high safety window of temps.

Naomi- when you push out a poo you increase your intra abdominal pressure to force a poo out. particularly like in Bailey's case if he has constipation. If you mimic that pressure yourself then you can feel the pressure build in your throat. I wouldn't let it worry you at all. Jemima is standing up to do almost all her poo's now. verry funny she does a little grunt and sigh as she pushes it out then looks very proud of herself!

Nicky- hope your storm clean up isn't too bad!

AFM- well so much has happened I don't know where to begin!

J is crawling so fast I can barely keep track of her! Plus I am distracted by trying to unpack. Couldn't believe the movers! First half of the boxes are completely full of crushed paper and it seemed like a complete waste of space and then they damaged so much of our furniture!! uurrgghh! So now I have to deal with an insurance co. Suffice to say I have begun to document my conversations with them now.... Never know what will happen.

J has finally started on solids. 6 1/2 months exclusive. Then the next 2 weeks she really only has had 3 slices of apple. I just couldn't wait till we got settled in but now I am starting in earnest. She is having carrot and apple. I gave her bannana and cucumber earlier in the week which she liked but I think they both upset her tummy? She kept writhing in bed. We have had to co-sleep for 2 weeks whilst at other ppls houses and so it has been more difficult to get a solid sleep with a wiggly worm in bed. Has anyone else had trouble with some foods? I am glad we r doing BLS as she won't take food from me. She wants to tuch it and examine everything that she eats LOL! Never mind. She has barely ingested anything but she is having fun trying.

She turned 7 months today!! Yay for her it is going to quick! Can't believe we r well on our way into the 2nd half of the yr.

Anyhow must go cos DH getting ****ed I am not spending time with him

Am the same as you our day out only ever starts once A has had one sleep as well...they just get so tired and putting them in and out of the car must be really annoying for them. I think one day Aaron was in and out of the car at least 10 times :doh:

Naomi: I sometimes catch myself sniffing bums too... Not that I really need to atm - both girls stink to high heaven when they poo lately. Once they start walking it is easier - you can just pull out the top of their pants and peer in. But the trap there is that they do it back to you when they get older and wiser, LOL!
Great that you found out about the weet-bix. I'm not surprised they have a 'blocking' effect - have you seen how much it swells up when you add liquid to it?!? Those things are the tardis of the breakfast cereal world.
Phoebe has done so well the last 2 nights... fingers crossed her unsettledness was just because of the heat. Last night she went to bed at 7 and didn't wake til 2, so I (breast) fed her. But the night before, I gave her a feed (bottle) at 9 and she went through til 6:30am! She did wake briefly at 1:30 and 3:30, but had settled herself by the time I got to her. We've had a more normal day today though, so tonight will be a test.
Bella: Glad you are getting settled but what a massive PITA about the furniture! I hope you can resolve it without too much trouble. Good idea to document things though - for JIC. Thanks, I am in two very different minds about weaning. Sometimes I think, thank heavens she is still bfeeding as I'm so not organised enough for bottles. And other times I think how it'd be just easier to go to bottles and be done with it. At least then I'd know what each day would bring. Today I am thinking I will just keep offering the boob for as long as she wants it and what will be will be. I introduced the bottle cause I knew there'd be days when I wouldn't be with her (of which there have now been a couple) and I needed to know she'd have her milk. It's a great thought re getting DH to give the bottles... especially overnight, LOL! But he's thoroughly hopeless. Best not get me started.
Vic: Yeah, Phoebe likes going out too, but we always pay for it at dinner time - if we've been out all day she is VERY upset and overtired. But if she manages one good sleep she is able to cope better.

I was lucky enough to hang out with some BB ladies yesterday at Jennifer's house. Was such a fun time, and got to put some faces to (user)names!
Bought some more training pants for Natty today - she seems happier to wear these than undies and they do hold the wee to a certain extent, which saves my carpet (not that it's all that flash, but YKWIM). Plus I bought myself some wine in a box. PMSL! Oh how my standards have dropped.

PMSL Amy! I love your wine in a box moment! You always make me laugh! Big Loves and Hugs to you. I don't think my sister would get her hubby to give a bottle over night either but I think she just meant when u can't be there to bf and someone else needs to give. If you are regularly giving at night it is different I think. I don't think my DH would be able to do it either!

I had a shocker night last night.... up every hr for feeds and then she wouldn't settle for hrs btwn about 2 and 4.30. Eyes closed but unhappy and in pain? I cried when she woke with DH alarm at 6..... still she was so tired she slept heaps this am and I did too.

I'm only giving the bottles when she wants them (ie when she refuses boob - which she still does on occasion even though she doesn't have them in the day... weird) and that's usually overnight or first feed of the day. All of which DH is asleep for :rolleyes: I do KWYM though - it is my Mum who would feed her while I am away.

I nearly lost it last night...I think all these late nights are starting to catch up on me.
I felt like such a bad mummy and just let Aaron cry till he was tired then picked him up and held him until he feel asleep so I could put him in his cot.

The more I think about it I just feel more terrible.
AC plays so much in my mind and I just think I should be happy all the time even if Aaron is crying or happy but then something happens and all I want is him to just GO to sleep.

Anyway I'm off to catch a few more Zzzzz.

Nicole - as much as AC is a part of how you got your little man, it doesn't change how you feel about the normal mummy things. when babies don't sleep, it has a mammoth impact. sleep deprivation is used as a torture method for a reason! yes, you feel bad for letting him cry last night BUT, you could feel yourself losing it - IMO, it's better to let your bubba cry a little every now and then when it gets too much, than it is to continue holding them and doing something stupid if your frustration grows. i have done it with DD a couple of times. she simply won't sleep but is exhausted - so i leave her for a few minutes - i walk to the other end of the house (long house) - get a drink, regroup, then go back to her. i hate hearing her cry, and yes, i do have the "i fought so hard for this, why am i not coping" thoughts, but i have tried to accept that i'm NORMAL and hearing a baby cry when i'm really tired really does your head in!

Well, had a rough few days here - the changing weather is making life really difficult - so hard to know what to dress E in! it's mostly ok cos we can judge, but when it comes to sleep time, if she's not dressed just right she gets either hot or cold and won't sleep properly! the other night, we had one of those nights where she just wouldn't settle. it was warm, but not hot - so i tried everything for her - more feeds, cuddles, settling her into bed etc. the whole time i was getting rather yukko myself - was having a bit of a hypo or low BSL moment (think hypo more than anything), overheated and collapsed. thankfully, i was standing between bed and cot and managed to catch the edge of the bed so that i fell backwards onto bed rather than forward onto E or the floor between, but i have managed to strain the muscles through one side of my back, my arm (and dodgy wrist - grrrrr), and rolled my ankle and knee on the opposite side. sigh. i feel so stupid! i could feel myself feeling ick and should have walked away to cool down but i wanted to ensure DD was settled. after that, DH had to settle her - i couldn't pick her up! oh well - at least i'm not feeling toooooooooo bad now lol

i have those times here i've noticed as Jamie has gotten bigger i have been able to leave him cry when i know hes tired and just wont sleep where when he was smaller i just couldnt do it and now hes decided that the best way to get my attention is to whinge but i think hes slowly realising it doesnt work

he's now getting around the whole house and now the bathroom door is always shut he got in there this morning and got covered in baby powder lol and hes now in size 0 hes growing too fast im starting to run out of clothes ppl have given me might have to go for a trip to bendigo to buy some more clothes

i think DH has finally realised how difficult it is to look after him properly I.E. feeding changing etc he had a explosion the other day while i was at work and he had to clean it up lol and hes never cleaned poo before lol

i actually like having a job dont shoot me lol but sometimes i just need time away from jamie sometimes i get really frustrated when DH doesnt help me and when hes not here that its a good change

Hey Nic I totally agree with BG on this. If you feel like that you are always better to just let them cry for a bit and regroup. That's why I laid in bed and cried and let J cry the other morning. I was beat and I felt like I was close enough to the edge that I might slip if she pushed me more. So the safest thing to do in that situation was to just take a moment. I think any mother who says she has never had a moment like that id either lying or has a really really really easy baby and a great support system. The rest of us just have to have little moments. It may not be ideal but life isn't fair and we do the best we have with what we have. You had enough insight to know you needed to look after yourself for a moment to better care for your bub. Kudos to you sweet heart. Well all get there. Don't beat yourself up

Same as the other girls, I totally understand Nicole, I've had moments where sleep deprivation has near driven me potty and turned me into a desperate, biatchy and irrational crazed woman, and sometimes you do just need to remove yourself from the situation, give yourself a few moments, take some deep breaths and then start again. I don't think Mum's of AC babies are any different, yes I feel totally grateful to have Bailey and I know how lucky I am to even be a Mum, but it doesn't make it any easier, in fact I think sometimes AC Mums put too much pressure on themselves as we feel we should be grateful for every moment and be a perfect mum as we all know others who are dying to be a Mum and would take our screaming/non-sleeping bundle at a moments notice. So anyway, my point is not to be so hard on yourself :hug:

Nicole: I did the same tonight. Phoebe was just soooooo tired, wouldn't fall asleep on the breast even though her eyes were drooping - she just kept pulling off and crying. I laid her down and patted, stroked, then picked her up and cuddled etc. No good. So I put her down and walked out. She went to sleep in a couple of minutes. I knew she was tired and it was driving me crazy! I think the negative (impatient, LOL!) energy from me was keeping her awake.
BG: Gosh, how scary re your collapse! Hope you are recovering ok.
I am still chuckling about wine in a box too - I haven't told my dad cause he'd slap me upside the head and say, "Child! Have I taught you NOTHING?!?!?"
I so KWYM about this fickle weather. Tonight the girls had a bath at Mum and Dad's and I dressed Phoebe in a cotton long-sleeved suit. Then we got home and it felt several degrees warmer! So I had to change her. I have been keeping a fan going in her room and dressing her a little warmer as it seems to be the most comfortable for her... Not sure I'll like our electricity bill, but so be it.
Jacinta: I do understand about enjoying going to work. It's time that you can be just you again and certainly a great learning curve for your DH (I can't believe he has gotten away with 8 months of not cleaning up any poo!!!). I felt the same when I went back to work after Natty. Plus, it really helps you enjoy the time you do have with the little one.

I am going to bed already I think! LOL, I have been so tired and Phoebe has slept pretty well the last few nights so hopefully I will have a good one and feel really refreshed tomorrow... hopefully. I have been such a cranky cow of late. And tomorrow I have a few job applications to write and I want to do a good job of them. I will hear this week if I got the job that I interviewed for last Tues, but I'm not hopeful. I rang my old boss a couple of days ago and told him to ring or text me if they called him, LOL! He hasn't contacted me so that means they haven't contacted him. I reckon that means I haven't got the job. Sigh. Ah well, there are a few more options out there for me. I will get cracking on it tomorrow.

Nicole - Glad to help babe, it's nice to be understood isn't it? These girls have saved my sanity on more than one occasion! Yaaaaay for Aaron getting some teeth! But OUCH at the same time! Bailey bit me a few times when I was BF (he was born with a tooth, it came up properly about 12 weeks) and it stung, not nice at all!

J - LOL @ the powder - did you take a pic? I think its perfectly healthy to enjoy some 'YOU' time away from Jamie and enjoy work. You aren't only his Mummy, you are Jacinta too, so none of us are going to shoot you! I hope I feel the same way when I go back to work in March. I used to really enjoy my job, so seeing as I have to be away from Bailz, I hope to find the same enjoyment again, although I know I will cherish my reduced time with him too! Good on you for getting back into the workforce and enjoying it, Mums feel guilty for way too many things so I'm stoked for you :)

BG - Thats scary mate re the fall, glad the bed caught you, how are you now? You poor bugger, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF - thats an order!!!! I was reading your FB status and I can relate (re C and E's exchange). Bailey is starting to really understand and respond to 'instruction' if you like atm, I can tell him not to put things in his mouth (and he wont LOL) and have taught him 'gently' so we are not getting our eyes clawed, hair pulled, necklaces ripped off anymore. As the kids are so much more interactive at mothers group I was trying to minimise him inadvertently hurting another baby as he curiously 'investigates' their face, hair etc hehehehe. If only he would listen when I tell him to go back to sleep at 6am!!

Bella - perhaps it was the night for it but we had a odd night last night. Am thinking its teething as Bailey's 2nd tooth is really coming up now, so there is a fair bit of movement, and when I give him the teething gel he settles down again, Anyway, I was up from 330-430, I couldn't get him back to sleep, in the end I gave him some panadol and a bottle and he stopped fighting me!! Hows the unpacking going? Are you getting a bit settled? How's J going with the new surroundings? Post some pics of your place!! (demanding aren't I?)

Amy - LOL @ the cask wine!! My SIL and I have gotten through a few boxes in our time - I think it was a Banrock Station one from memory, its was a nice as any bottled wine I'd had, there are a few dodgy lolly water ones about though hehehehehehe. Sounds like Phoebes is going great guns with her sleeping of late - have you gotten some quality sleep too? I find Bailey struggles when the weather changes too, it was so much easier in winter when you could just bundle them up. If we have baby number 2 I would love to have a winter baby again - in fact an april or may baby would be awesome. I wont be too picky though LOL. DH has made mention of baby number 2 recently (after being dead against it after the IVF journey and then the dysplasia issues) as I think the thought of Bailey being an only child and potentially left 'alone' in the world when we depart it upsets him, Obviously this is quite a leap ahead, but it really got him thinking. As my time of going back to work nears, it makes me realise that I do want another, I want to go through this wonderful experience again and I think we (and Bailey) have a lot to offer another child - but we are talking 2012+ LOL

Busy weekend for us - we went out to lunch yesterday to our community club and got home at 630pm LOL! Today we had the IL for lunch, we have just been mooching tiredly about this arvo, we really need to have a quiet weekend, feel like we still haven't had an opportunity to 'wind' down since christmas. Bailey is getting himself into the crawling position, trying to move forward, then slumping on the ground with frustration then crying out for help. Its kinda heartbreaking yet encouraging at the same time. I feel his frustration at the brace but think, hey, if you have worked out how to get yourself into a crawling position, you are one step closer to finding a way to move about. I'm not sure that he has enough arm strenght to commando crawl, but talked to DH today about getting a nice rug for our lounge room as the 'alphabet' mat and our current el-cheapo IKEA rug dont give him enough traction to move, they seem to just provide a slippery obstacle. I will have a look this week I think. Bailey has said Mum-Mum-Mum and Dada-Dada-Dada but quite indiscriminently, but says 'Heerroww" (Hello) regularly when we say it to him or give his toy phone to him so I have decided that is his official 'first word'!! He can mimic us quite well but saying the right word in context is pretty random currently. He seems quite advanced socially compared to my mothers group babies, so perhaps thats one of the reasons he is behind with motor skills etc? He is too busy charming everyone with his cute chatter and charm hehehehe. He is getting quite discerning with strangers also - he is getting wary of blokes, but will throw most ladies a smile without too much fuss - he is quite the ladies man already!!

Sounds like Bailey is doing really well with his motor skills! If he is getting up into crawling position then he's on par with Phoebs... I think these movers and shakers who are cruising already are actually doing it pretty early, so I wouldn't be using that as a benchmark personally. He certainly is very determined - I reckon he'll have figured out a way to get around in the coming weeks, sooner than you think.
Not surprised he's charming the ladies already either - look at that smile!
Nicole: Hope this isn't creepy, but I saw you post in the Baulko hospital thread - I think you live pretty close to me, LOL! Let me know if you'd be up for a coffee sometime.

I got a call yesterday telling me I didn't get the job. Bummer - it looked really good. But I have another interview this morning and this one is only 2 days per week, which DH and I are pretty happy about. (I would rather 2 days than 3.) So fingers crossed this morning goes well. I am due there in 45 mins - better run! Catch you all later. xx
