Bailey was 8.5 kg at his last weigh (which was at 10.5 months) and he might possibly crack the 9kg by his first birthday next week.

Well he did - JUST!! Bailz weighs 9 kg as of today! Had our 12 month Paed appt today - Paed was wrapped with Bailz motor skills and social development - thinks he is spot on. Gave us some tactics to address the ongoing constipation issues (Yay!)

The only thing we need to keep an eye on is Bailz pee-pee hole - aparantly the skin is covering it more than it should be so we have to put some steriod cream on it twice a day which will thin out the skin a little and solve the problem - interesting! I had no idea as I'm not really a willy expert LOL Paed wants to see him for his 18 month check up, other than that all is great

Nicky - hope your Dad gets out of hospital soon babe. Re the part time work, for us, as I am working 4 days and earn a pretty good wicket its well above what benefits we would get so it was a bit of a no brainer for us, but I know sometimes by the time you add in the cost of child care (if needed) it can be more beneficial to stay home and be with your kids. I guess the only thing you can do is find out the wage vs your maximum entitlements, consider the petrol cost and decide whats best - which you are no doubt doing. Sorry was not much help.

Hi again girls. Will hopefully be back on this weekend for some persies.
Phoebe has this adenovirus giving her a very productive cough, red ear and throat, diarrhea and a rash on her tummy, back and neck :( I was really scared yesterday when DH took her to the drs - they rang me at work and asked about her nappies... I felt dreadful because I couldn't remember how many wet ones she'd had. I change her after her morning and afternoon sleeps and before her bath but can't remember how wet the nappies were if at all... so she said to DH that if she remains as lethargic as she was yesterday morning then he'd have to take her to hospital :( I have never felt so crap to be at work. I just wanted to hold my baby.
She has come good though, perked up quite a lot through the day yesterday and had a fairly good night last night.
Gotta scoot off now to get to work again. Wish I could afford another day off :(

I am losing the plot (must be because haven't been out and about much due to CJ's cold) you probably all heard about the Storm, well I was quite distraught but is only a game really afterall and then I was reading Cerys a book this morning and is all about the colour purple and it made me cry!

CJ sort of commando crawled a little this morning.

Off to doctors at lunch just to get her ear and chest checked I think she is getting better but was a bit more upset yesterday arvo when made appointment and was pulling at ear alot.

Anyway must go get showered and stop thinking about The Storm.

niadalla, good about your dad coming home! as for working, i guess it really depends on how much ftb your getting (which depends on your income, your DH) and depends on child care fees in your area etc. i know in my case as atm im unqualified, if i went to work in retail or something, even if i work full time, after loosing some centrelink ebenfits and paying child care fees id only be about $150 better off a week (but alot more tired and stressed) so really its upto you, thats just what works for me (but im excited to go back and study starting july, but caus im a single mum i get free daycare thru the JET program otherwise id never be able to afford to study)

AFU, as some of you know Aaron I took Aaron for his swine flu shots the other day and these last few days have been real hard work. He had a temp on Tuesday night of 38.5 and then on Wednesday did a massive Vommit!! He has also taken to sleeping with me at night which is NOT good. But tonight we went down really well so fingers crossed.
He turned 11 months yesterday and it's so weird to think this is his last age in months until he turn 1.... ahhhhhh Bring me back my newborn!!

Nay: Hope Bailey has had an awesome party!! 1 year old!! Such a big boy now! :)

Amy: I hope Phoebe makes a quick recovery..it's so scary when they are that sick. My kids have given me a few scarey moments over the years. Ronan had an eye infectoin when he was 3 and had to go to hospital and Yassie was so sick she wouldn't eat for days once..I was ready to take her to hospital and she got better!!

TM: Love the new tattoo. I like it when people have ones that mean something. Used to love watching Miami Ink. Too chicken to get one of my own though hehe

Nic: Happy 11mths Aaron!! Times sure does fly! I've been getting an outfit made for Cara's 1st birthday. She'll be 11mths in a few days!

Bridg: I notice Cara goes off her food when she is teething too. And she will clap hands but not when I tell her to. I think she fluked putting "Hands in the air" or "Hands on her head" too..as she doesn't really do it now...or maybe I'm not practising it enough.

Cara can say "Tit tit" now....She said it last night in bed...so cute!! She has her 8th tooth breaking through too! 4 up the top and 4 on the bottom now. Cute.

I'm not sure how many of you remember me telling you all about DH's cousin having her baby 2 days after Kyson was born... but she's been taking to hospital this morning and she's dying... I still can't get it into my head that this is really happening. She got up this morning and resettled her baby (who turns one in less than two weeks!) and went back to bed. She fell asleep and then had a massive heart attack. She was revived three times before she even got to the hospital, and her heart just won't keep beating on her own. She's only maybe 5 years older than me! Completely healthy, nothing wrong with her, so how on earth can this really be happening?! I keep thinking that surely they'll be able to fix her... but they've now called all the immediate family into ICU with her. I think that means they are saying their goodbyes. How can this be happening?!

Krystie - How awful, and what a shock, hugs to you and all your family. I never understand how things like this happen - in my head people die in accidents or because they get sick - not just all of a sudden. Thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

OMG KL, that is awful. I can imagine everyone is shocked.
I will pray for her and the family.

Phoebe is so much better today. The transformation is amazing. Last night she really cheered up and slept fairly well and this morning she has been almost back to normal: eating, rash gone, cough loosening up and smiling.
Cathy: I have never had such a sick kid before. Natty had a dreadful fever once and her high temp lasted at least 5 days - I had no idea what the problem was but she was miserable and drugs really didn't help. But she drank heaps and she was still interactive.
Yay for an 8th tooth! Phoebe still only has 5, but I can see one more just peeping through at the bottom...
I still feed Phoebs to sleep too. When she is being minded by others she goes to sleep in a stroller or in their arms after a bottle. On rare occasions (if she is very tired) we can just wrap her up and she turns her head and drops off. But this is very rare (and never for me, LOL!).
BG: Yay for starting work :) I am sorry it has been boring. Think of the $$ though, LOL! I am not at all surprised that you remembered everything - you have spent the last couple of years providing the CL answering service here on BB ;)

Nic: How awful @ Aaron's reaction to the flu shot! Poor bub. I hope he is better. Would love to grab that coffee. Phoebe is getting there... I judge from the rapid improvement in her health that she'll be disease-free before too long.

I couldn't bear to think about having another baby until Natty was about 18mo. It was great just enjoying the one, as Bridg has suggested to you. If in the future the time is right, you can always change your mind.
Natty didn't crawl til she was 11-ish months old, then everything happened very quickly... Prepare yourself! LOL!

I think IRT getting work that everyone's situation is different. We are fairly screwed financially so it was an absolute necessity. I am not eligible for family assistance because we earn too much. Thanks to the accountants' creative accounting for DH's business. So I had to get a job because we just couldn't survive on DH's wage alone.
Jacinta: Ooooh, lucky you with the sleep. Phoebe slept til just before 6 this morning... but she didn't settle til 11 last night. PMSL! Even so, it was nice not to have to be up before 4am for a change.
Vic: How did CJ go with the Drs visit? Are her ears clear? I think it's always worth a visit to the drs if a cold's dragging on. YAY for the commando crawl! It won't be long now before she is off like a speeding bullet. And PMSL @ you and the football. Sorry that things are a little emotional right now ;)
Fascinating theory re the giraffes! I have heard it is more common for boys to stay attached to their mums for longer, and I am very interested in evolutionary theories for human behaviour.
Nay: Hope the party went well and B had a great birthday. P is only 8.4kg (well she was on Monday - she might have lost more weight now :( ) I thought she was going to be bigger than Nat but she has gotten leaner as she's grown up.
Interesting about the peepee issues. SIL often says that HPs are obsessed with boys' penises. She reckons that every dr she's ever seen has felt her son's plums. What is the deal?!? Anyhoo, I'm glad that you've got something to address the problem before it actually becomes a problem.
Bridg: Bummer about the teeth/solids. Hope they come through soon with not too many issues and he is back on his food again. Could be a little tummy bug too - P refused most solids over the weekend and earlier in the week when her tummy was upset. She is only now getting back into them properly. Clever boy with the hand-clapping. I have been trying to teach Phoebe but no cigar. She is getting the hang of waving though. The other thing that's cute is that when I say, "mum mum mum mum" to her she says, "dad dad dad dad" with a VERY cheeky grin. Little minx. Does Logan still use his mouth a lot to explore objects? Phoebe is quite a mouthy kid which is different to how Natty used to be.
Bella: Sorry little J has been a bit unsettled... Is she any better? SO glad you are enjoying Zumba! Sounds like awesome fun.
KL: I have found my supply hasn't been greatly altered by my dropping a couple of feeds 3 days/week (I'm no longer expressing at work - I don't get uncomfortable if I feed her before I leave and then 8-ish hours later when I get home). I don't think your supply is the issue as much as a slower let-down. If Kyson is a bit impatient then that probably makes it even worse.
I have always found my letdown to be quicker overnight. I think that's why Phoebe still wakes - because the feeds are so generous and relaxing. From my understanding, your body is relaxed from rest, your hormones are hammering away and overnight is the ideal time to bfeed a baby. So don't stress that you won't have enough for him overnight - I think you'll be just fine. As for whether he is having the right amount of bfeeds, I don't think you can bfeed a kid too much - it's a beautifully organic, healthy drink. I do think though that if bubs is having so much milk that they are not having solids then that's something that might need addressing. A family friend had to get some help because her son at 12 months old was only having breast milk. She had tried him on solids at 7 months and he wasn't interested so she just didn't offer again. :o He was quite small and underdeveloped. It was challenging to get him to learn to eat. This is an extreme case of course because he had just never been encouraged to eat, and I'm sure that unless Kyson has undergone a very dramatic change then he is still getting some solids into him (he was always a champ at the BLS!).

Oh Krystie!! I am so sad to hear that!!! You will be in my thoughts.... that poor baby and family.

Amy - Doc gave CJ the all clear apart from some fluid in ear, fluid apparently clear and chamber only half full so should drain away on its own apparently. She thought was a virus and that as I thought she was generally on the mend to just watch out for any temp or pain that could be sign of secondary bacterial infection. She is definitely much better today, still a bit of a cough but less snotty and more herself at settling and sleeping. Feeling much better about Storm today.

Krystie - I would say like Amy that overall my supply hasn't dropped that I have noticed despite dropping the feeds, just that don't feel overfull at anytime anymore. I have noticed that if CJ bites when I put her on, and then I take her off and hand express a little and put back on she doesn't bite again - so maybe my let down has slowed a bit (I suppose that could make sense because if you are feeding less often then maybe just takes a bit longer to get going?)

CJ's commando crawl is so slow it had DH in hysterics! She seems to put so much effort into it! Is great she even is showing signs of wanting to move forward as until yesterday she just would go backwards until hit wall and then just stay there and find something else to entertain herself until we would move her. In the bath she used to push her self back to bottom of bath and I would have to move her forward again to her toys but now she pulls herself forward.
