:happybirthday: Bailey!
Hi again girls. Will hopefully be back on this weekend for some persies.
Phoebe has this adenovirus giving her a very productive cough, red ear and throat, diarrhea and a rash on her tummy, back and neck :( I was really scared yesterday when DH took her to the drs - they rang me at work and asked about her nappies... I felt dreadful because I couldn't remember how many wet ones she'd had. I change her after her morning and afternoon sleeps and before her bath but can't remember how wet the nappies were if at all... so she said to DH that if she remains as lethargic as she was yesterday morning then he'd have to take her to hospital :( I have never felt so crap to be at work. I just wanted to hold my baby.
She has come good though, perked up quite a lot through the day yesterday and had a fairly good night last night.
Gotta scoot off now to get to work again. Wish I could afford another day off :(
-
Awwww Amy, hope Phoebes keeps perking up and getting better, HUGS to you both babe
Jumping in to see my tickler - My baby is ONE!!!!
-
Congratulations Bailey on your first Birthday - I hope you are mega excited about the party your mummy has planned for you.
I am losing the plot (must be because haven't been out and about much due to CJ's cold) you probably all heard about the Storm, well I was quite distraught but is only a game really afterall and then I was reading Cerys a book this morning and is all about the colour purple and it made me cry!
CJ sort of commando crawled a little this morning.
Off to doctors at lunch just to get her ear and chest checked I think she is getting better but was a bit more upset yesterday arvo when made appointment and was pulling at ear alot.
Anyway must go get showered and stop thinking about The Storm.
-
 vic and good job cerys
happy 1st birthday Bailey xoxoxox
Jamie has now slept through 2 nights in a row with no wakeups yay :) ive had good sleep since lol
-
Happy Birthday Bailey!!! Have a wonderful day!
Sorry to hear phoebe has been so unwell Amy. I hope she's on the improve now.
-
Just wanted to let you girls know, that Dad's come home today. I've updated my thread with the details.
have a great weekend!
-
niadalla, good about your dad coming home! as for working, i guess it really depends on how much ftb your getting (which depends on your income, your DH) and depends on child care fees in your area etc. i know in my case as atm im unqualified, if i went to work in retail or something, even if i work full time, after loosing some centrelink ebenfits and paying child care fees id only be about $150 better off a week (but alot more tired and stressed) so really its upto you, thats just what works for me (but im excited to go back and study starting july, but caus im a single mum i get free daycare thru the JET program otherwise id never be able to afford to study)
naomi - yay for bailey!! jade has constipation issues too she has parachoc daily now...lol you wrote tickler
-
Well after last weeks promise to catch with everyone I have been really slack and not been able to post :shakehead:
Naomi.....OMG your Baby Boy is 1 year old!! Where is this time flying...what happened to our little newborns....
Hope you gugs have a great Party tomorrow and can't wait to hear how it all goes.
Hugs and Kisses to the Birthday Boy :birthday2:
Vic, not good about the storm...really shocking!! I really feel bad for the players!!
Well done on CJ commando crawling...the little lady is on the move.
Amy, I hope Phoebe is ok  When things settle down and all the kids are well we still must catch up for that cuppa at North Rocks!!
Nicky, great to hear that your Dad is home. Will check out your thread for more details. BIG hugs to you
Bridg, Aaron is sending BIG claps to his buddy LJ. Well done little man!!
AFU, as some of you know Aaron I took Aaron for his swine flu shots the other day and these last few days have been real hard work. He had a temp on Tuesday night of 38.5 and then on Wednesday did a massive Vommit!! He has also taken to sleeping with me at night which is NOT good. But tonight we went down really well so fingers crossed.
He turned 11 months yesterday and it's so weird to think this is his last age in months until he turn 1.... ahhhhhh Bring me back my newborn!!
Hope you all have a great weekend!!
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BAILEY!!!
Amy, hope Miss P is doing better
will catch up properly over the weekend - very tired tonight - think this week has taken more of a toll than i gave it credit for
-
Nay: Hope Bailey has had an awesome party!! 1 year old!! Such a big boy now! :)
Amy: I hope Phoebe makes a quick recovery..it's so scary when they are that sick. My kids have given me a few scarey moments over the years. Ronan had an eye infectoin when he was 3 and had to go to hospital and Yassie was so sick she wouldn't eat for days once..I was ready to take her to hospital and she got better!!
TM: Love the new tattoo. I like it when people have ones that mean something. Used to love watching Miami Ink. Too chicken to get one of my own though hehe
Nicky: Glad your Dad is home! You must feel relieved
JwithJ: Yay for sleep throughs!!! Now if you can just get Jamie to teach Cara
Vic: Yay Cerys! Commando crawl girl!
Nic: Happy 11mths Aaron!! Times sure does fly! I've been getting an outfit made for Cara's 1st birthday. She'll be 11mths in a few days!
Bridg: I notice Cara goes off her food when she is teething too. And she will clap hands but not when I tell her to. I think she fluked putting "Hands in the air" or "Hands on her head" too..as she doesn't really do it now...or maybe I'm not practising it enough.
Cara can say "Tit tit" now....She said it last night in bed...so cute!! She has her 8th tooth breaking through too! 4 up the top and 4 on the bottom now. Cute.
-
I'm not sure how many of you remember me telling you all about DH's cousin having her baby 2 days after Kyson was born... but she's been taking to hospital this morning and she's dying... I still can't get it into my head that this is really happening. She got up this morning and resettled her baby (who turns one in less than two weeks!) and went back to bed. She fell asleep and then had a massive heart attack. She was revived three times before she even got to the hospital, and her heart just won't keep beating on her own. She's only maybe 5 years older than me! Completely healthy, nothing wrong with her, so how on earth can this really be happening?! I keep thinking that surely they'll be able to fix her... but they've now called all the immediate family into ICU with her. I think that means they are saying their goodbyes. How can this be happening?!
-
Krystie - How awful, and what a shock, hugs to you and all your family. I never understand how things like this happen - in my head people die in accidents or because they get sick - not just all of a sudden. Thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
-
OMG KL, that is awful. I can imagine everyone is shocked.
I will pray for her and the family.
-
Phoebe is so much better today. The transformation is amazing. Last night she really cheered up and slept fairly well and this morning she has been almost back to normal: eating, rash gone, cough loosening up and smiling.
Cathy: I have never had such a sick kid before. Natty had a dreadful fever once and her high temp lasted at least 5 days - I had no idea what the problem was but she was miserable and drugs really didn't help. But she drank heaps and she was still interactive.
Yay for an 8th tooth! Phoebe still only has 5, but I can see one more just peeping through at the bottom...
I still feed Phoebs to sleep too. When she is being minded by others she goes to sleep in a stroller or in their arms after a bottle. On rare occasions (if she is very tired) we can just wrap her up and she turns her head and drops off. But this is very rare (and never for me, LOL!).
BG: Yay for starting work :) I am sorry it has been boring. Think of the $$ though, LOL! I am not at all surprised that you remembered everything - you have spent the last couple of years providing the CL answering service here on BB ;)
Cute that E was so happy - and LOL @ her getting whiplash by trying to get to the boob
Nic: How awful @ Aaron's reaction to the flu shot! Poor bub. I hope he is better. Would love to grab that coffee. Phoebe is getting there... I judge from the rapid improvement in her health that she'll be disease-free before too long.
Emma: Ooh, I haven't been onto FB for more than a couple of seconds, but will have to add you. I'm Amy Stowe if you are on there before me :)
I couldn't bear to think about having another baby until Natty was about 18mo. It was great just enjoying the one, as Bridg has suggested to you. If in the future the time is right, you can always change your mind.
Natty didn't crawl til she was 11-ish months old, then everything happened very quickly... Prepare yourself! LOL!
Nicky: So pleased your dad is home!
I think IRT getting work that everyone's situation is different. We are fairly screwed financially so it was an absolute necessity. I am not eligible for family assistance because we earn too much. Thanks to the accountants' creative accounting for DH's business. So I had to get a job because we just couldn't survive on DH's wage alone.
Jacinta: Ooooh, lucky you with the sleep. Phoebe slept til just before 6 this morning... but she didn't settle til 11 last night. PMSL! Even so, it was nice not to have to be up before 4am for a change.
Vic: How did CJ go with the Drs visit? Are her ears clear? I think it's always worth a visit to the drs if a cold's dragging on. YAY for the commando crawl! It won't be long now before she is off like a speeding bullet. And PMSL @ you and the football. Sorry that things are a little emotional right now ;)
Fascinating theory re the giraffes! I have heard it is more common for boys to stay attached to their mums for longer, and I am very interested in evolutionary theories for human behaviour.
Nay: Hope the party went well and B had a great birthday. P is only 8.4kg (well she was on Monday - she might have lost more weight now :( ) I thought she was going to be bigger than Nat but she has gotten leaner as she's grown up.
Interesting about the peepee issues. SIL often says that HPs are obsessed with boys' penises. She reckons that every dr she's ever seen has felt her son's plums. What is the deal?!? Anyhoo, I'm glad that you've got something to address the problem before it actually becomes a problem.
Bridg: Bummer about the teeth/solids. Hope they come through soon with not too many issues and he is back on his food again. Could be a little tummy bug too - P refused most solids over the weekend and earlier in the week when her tummy was upset. She is only now getting back into them properly. Clever boy with the hand-clapping. I have been trying to teach Phoebe but no cigar. She is getting the hang of waving though. The other thing that's cute is that when I say, "mum mum mum mum" to her she says, "dad dad dad dad" with a VERY cheeky grin. Little minx. Does Logan still use his mouth a lot to explore objects? Phoebe is quite a mouthy kid which is different to how Natty used to be.
Bella: Sorry little J has been a bit unsettled... Is she any better? SO glad you are enjoying Zumba! Sounds like awesome fun.
KL: I have found my supply hasn't been greatly altered by my dropping a couple of feeds 3 days/week (I'm no longer expressing at work - I don't get uncomfortable if I feed her before I leave and then 8-ish hours later when I get home). I don't think your supply is the issue as much as a slower let-down. If Kyson is a bit impatient then that probably makes it even worse.
I have always found my letdown to be quicker overnight. I think that's why Phoebe still wakes - because the feeds are so generous and relaxing. From my understanding, your body is relaxed from rest, your hormones are hammering away and overnight is the ideal time to bfeed a baby. So don't stress that you won't have enough for him overnight - I think you'll be just fine. As for whether he is having the right amount of bfeeds, I don't think you can bfeed a kid too much - it's a beautifully organic, healthy drink. I do think though that if bubs is having so much milk that they are not having solids then that's something that might need addressing. A family friend had to get some help because her son at 12 months old was only having breast milk. She had tried him on solids at 7 months and he wasn't interested so she just didn't offer again. :o He was quite small and underdeveloped. It was challenging to get him to learn to eat. This is an extreme case of course because he had just never been encouraged to eat, and I'm sure that unless Kyson has undergone a very dramatic change then he is still getting some solids into him (he was always a champ at the BLS!).
-
Oh Krystie!! I am so sad to hear that!!! You will be in my thoughts.... that poor baby and family.
-
Amy - Doc gave CJ the all clear apart from some fluid in ear, fluid apparently clear and chamber only half full so should drain away on its own apparently. She thought was a virus and that as I thought she was generally on the mend to just watch out for any temp or pain that could be sign of secondary bacterial infection. She is definitely much better today, still a bit of a cough but less snotty and more herself at settling and sleeping. Feeling much better about Storm today.
Krystie - I would say like Amy that overall my supply hasn't dropped that I have noticed despite dropping the feeds, just that don't feel overfull at anytime anymore. I have noticed that if CJ bites when I put her on, and then I take her off and hand express a little and put back on she doesn't bite again - so maybe my let down has slowed a bit (I suppose that could make sense because if you are feeding less often then maybe just takes a bit longer to get going?)
CJ's commando crawl is so slow it had DH in hysterics! She seems to put so much effort into it! Is great she even is showing signs of wanting to move forward as until yesterday she just would go backwards until hit wall and then just stay there and find something else to entertain herself until we would move her. In the bath she used to push her self back to bottom of bath and I would have to move her forward again to her toys but now she pulls herself forward.
-
vic - jade was the same, backwards bum shuffle now strong willed commando crawl! lol
krystie that is awful i really hope she gets better... :(
-
Krystie - I am so sorry to hear about your cousin! How heartbreaking!
Lots of hugs and we're all here for support should you need us.
Hi everyone, just a quick pop in before bed. I'm pretty stuffed. Played netball today adn played pretty well for someone who hasn't touched a ball for 11 years. I even got best on for my team, so that was pretty cool. Am really enjoying it.
Allira is saying "ta' now and also playing a game where I say "ta for Mummy" and she'll giggle and hand me the object that she's holding. Then I say "ta for Allira" and hand her to object back. SHe giggles and walks away, then turns around to go again. Super cute. SHe's also mastered kicking a ball! It's insane! Just having a sibling to copy from has made her learn things so early. She picks up her ball and walks a few steps, then drops it on the floor and kicks it along the room. Very cute.
Ok me me me... Enough. I'm off to bed. Have a great long weekend!
xx

We thought we had some good news this afternoon. The doctors put my cousin in an induced coma, and mentioned that there had been some urine output. That's often a good sign that the organs are still functioning ok, and that there is still at least some form of brain function. We were told to hold onto hope and that they've seen some people come back from worse. They said the next 24-48 hours are critical...
Just now we've had a message that her organs are starting to shut down. They've put her on some stronger meds, but are now saying that the next 6 hours is now the critical time. It's really not looking good. DH has just gone to his parents place because a lot of the family are gathering there. This is all just so unfair! It looks like she is never going to see her son turn even one! I've tried so hard all day to stay positive, and to be strong for DH, but now that he's left the house it's really hit me and I can't stop crying. Crying for a life that looks like it's going to be over way too soon. Crying for a husband that will never get to grow old with his wife. And especially crying for a little boy that won't even remember his mummy
-
KL - that is heartbreaking hun - my heart goes out to your family
would post more but brain not working right at the moment - will be back i promise!
-
Oh Krystie, I have tears, I am so soooooooo sorry, what a terrible and unfair twist of fate. I hope she pulls through, her poor little boy, so so sad to think he may lose his Mummy. Sending all my love to you tonight darling girl
-
Krystie - i ahve my phone by the bed all night - if you feel you need to talk and offload at ANY time, sms me - takes two minutes for me to get out of the bedroom and i can talk to you on phone or online.
thinking of you all
-
Krystie- Oh honey, I am sooooo sorry to hear about DH's cousin. I'm not a religious person, but I will definately pray for her, her husband and her son tonight. My thoughts are with all of you. If you need me at all, you can ring me ANYTIME.
-
Krystie, I hope with this morning's light there is some good news for you and your family
Thinking of you all.

Thank you all for your support, love and well wishes. Unfortunately her condition hasn't changed over night. The only good thing about that is the fact that we are still able to hope for a miracle. Apparently she moved slightly overnight, but they are saying that it's not necessarily a good sign. They've increased her sedation because even the small movement she was making is taking to much strength from her body. She still have some pupil response, so that's a sign that there is at least some brain function still there, but they can't say how much from that test. If by some miracle she pulls through this, it is a guessing game as to how much brain function she will have. I still can't accept that this is happening, and just keep hoping that something miraculous happens and she comes out of this ok. Maybe my brain is just trying to protect me because things are looking so bad right now.
Despite the immense sadness of the current situation, I'm trying to stay happy and positive about Kyson's birthday and his party. He deserves to have a wonderful and happy celebration so I'm determined that that is what he will have. I wrapped some of his presents last night, and that actually made me feel a lot better. Then when I fed him at 11.30pm I reallllly didn't want to put him back down. I held him and cuddled him for quite a while after he fell back to sleep. I love him so much!
-
Enjoy your Kyson cuddles, Krystie. There is nothing like baby cuddles when you get such traumatic news. Many hugs to you as you and your family at this difficult time.
-
Krystie- Sorry to hear her condition hadn't changed. It's good though, that she didn't get any worse. I understand that you can't accept that this is happening, and it's absolutely awful. I felt the same way the day my dad passed away. We are all praying that she pulls through this. She must be a strong woman to have made it through the night. How is her DH coping? Is there anything that any of us can do for either you and DH or his family?
I imagine she would also want Kyson to have a wonderful day, and she wouldn't want you to not be happy. It is ok to be sad on the day, but it is also ok to be happy.
We are here for you. :grouphug:
-
Whatever vibes, thoughts, prayers, well wishes and anything thing that everyone is sending my cousins way must be working! There's been improvement!!! We are so ecstatically happy right now! This morning there had been no change, but we got a message this evening that she has been removed from all machines except the breathing machine, and she has regained consciousness. She's been able to respond to people in the room by squeezing hands, or wriggling toes, and has even tried to talk (but can't because she's intubated). Miracles are happening! It's still touch and go, but things are looking more positive now (well it couldn't have gotten much worse from last night...). The fact that she is able to understand to respond is a good sign that there is still some degree of brain function, so we're now hoping that she pulls through, and that there is minimal or no brain damage. I'm not sure how likely full brain function is though because I know that they were doing cpr on her for over 45 minutes. But if she's managed to come this far, then I'm going to hope for everything!
Thank you all again for being my rocks!
Bridg, thanks for your offer of help. We're doing ok. Her DH was a real mess, as was her dad, but hopefully they are doing a bit better now. I don't want to ring to find out because I'm sure they are being bombarded by calls at the moment. I think I am going to order some toddler food that they can keep in the freezer so that they don't have to think about meals for their little boy. I know he has allergies so I'll ring tomorrow to find out what they are so I can make sure the meals are suitable for him.
Nay - I can't wait to see more photos from Bailey's birthday!
-
Hooray!!! I hope the good news keeps coming, I will have everything crossed :crossfingers:
-
Oh Krystie I am sooo pleased to know that things are looking up for your DH's cousin!! Everything that you are describing sounds incredibly positive and hopefully they have had enough time now to work out why on earth a young woman like her has a heart attack! I have seen a few heart attacks like that with young ppl and it is so devastating because it is so unexpected. I hope they can work out what went wrong for her and fix her so she can go back home to her baby, her husband and her family. You hold Kyson tight darling. There is nothing like a death or a near death for us all to look around us and take stock of all we love and sometimes take for granted. So you cuddle your little baby and croon in his ears how much you love him and we will keep hoping and praying for your cousin and that everything will be ok.
-
Krystie- Great news! That is soooooo good to hear! I will keep praying that she gets better and better as each day goes by.

-
Happy 1st Birthday Ivy!!!
-
Happy birthday sweet Ivy!!! I hope you are having a magical 1st birthday! :hugs:
-
Nawwww thanks girls.
Was just actually popping in to see how Krystie's cousin is going - yes, I do still stalk this thread and I was so sad reading about her the other day. Krystie I'm sooooo glad to read that she's doing better. Continuing to send out healthy and healing vibes for her full recovery.
We're having a bit of a funny day here. Had one of the worst nights in months as Ivy's got 4 teeth coming through at once. It's really hurting her and she's chewing on her hand so hard that she's cut her finger up and keeps making her hand bleed poor love. As a result she's been a bit over tired and sooky today. She did NOT want teeth for her birthday! But then I took her to her favourite place in the world.... the pool! As usual, she was all smiles from the moment she saw the front doors and knew where we were and she had a blast! Hopefully the teeth might have settled down a bit and she'll be up for more fun on the weekend for her little party.
I'm also a bit torn about how I feel today. I'm so proud of my little girl. She's growing up so much and doing such amazing and adorable things. But this day also marks the end of her babyhood and that makes me feel some sadness and loss as well. I'll miss my teeny little bubba. It's also the anniversary of what was amongst the most difficult times in our lives - Ivy's time in Special Care. I think I still feel the reverberations of having to be separated from her when every hormone and instinct was screaming "hold her and never let her go". It was a really tough couple of weeks getting feeding established and watching her go through those nasty tests and have tubes repeatedly shoved down her tiny little nose.
I'm putting that behind us of course, but being the anniversary, a lot of it is coming back today. Mostly though, I just keep looking at her today and thinking MY GOD I LOVE YOU. So much it stuns me. And more ever day when I don't think that can be possible. I marvel at what an amazing little person she is turning in to. She's learning so much so fast right now there's something new happening every day. And she's developing the funniest little character. Turning into quite the 'girly-girl' which she SO doesn't get from me! This morning she had one of my necklaces and wrapped it round her wrist and then sat back and admired it and waved her arm around like 'well aren't I pretty'! The she went and got the TV remote and was holding it against her shoulder (can't quite find her ear!!) and pretending it was the phone and going "herro? herro!". SO CUTE!!
Anyways, enough gushing from me. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes. Don't know when I'll be back here again but I'll make sure I catch you all for your bubba's birthdays on FB.
Huuuuuuge hugs to you all. xoxoxo

Happy Birthday Ivy - Bailz said to tell you that being 1 is fun!!
Kat, I refuse to believe that my baby is no longer a baby, I've decided that toddler-hood will start around 2 in this house LOL (Yes, I'm in denial)
Have been flat chat the last few days with family obligations etc, will pop in tomorrow night when Sean is at Band to write a decent post, fill you in on Bailey's party and catch up with some persies
Love to you all
Oh and KL, hope your cuz is still on the improve!
-
so good to hear krystie!!
naomi im in denial too. i find myself every day looking fondly at newborn photos, or find a piece of old clothing and wish she was still that little!!! i guess cause i hardly got to see her from 2-6weeks old cause i was in the MBU, i feel like i missed out abit :(
broke up with deadbeat (cheating) DP...abit annoying cause first person ive 'dated' (as opposed to FWB's) since leaving jades dad and it went sour very quick :( oh well bigger and better i say :)
