Well - we are not ready to TTC yet (two is enough for the moment! lol) and we are not TT-ing yet either - will get the potty out soon, just for story time etc to get her familiar with it. She tells me when she needs her nappy changed though, so I know she will be ready by her 2nd birthday (when I will TT)
Eva is still bf-ing - I have been attempting to wean her, but she enjoys her boobie too much! We are down to morning/night feeds now, so at least she's not feeding overnight lol
I'm going away in June though (without the girls! Eeeekk!!) so I know thats the end of the bf-ing. I'm ok with that!
Eva isn't saying too much (I think she has a big sister that talks enough for both of them!) but she loves to sing and dance - so cute!
Shes in a big bed too, my baby isnt a baby anymore! :(
Hope youre all well!
-
Hey SS :D
Great that your still BFing, good on you hun!! thats quite an acheivment :D:D I see your going away to Kenya, wow, thats big holiday!! Enjoy yourself (or try to, without the girls!) Yay for the big bed!! Im sure her big sister talks for her alot. My brother used to do the same for me, so my mum told me. Until i was almost 4 hahahahha
Mia isnt in a big bed yet, and I probably wont be putting her in one until she is close to 2 or over 2 (well ill be converting her cot to the toddler bed first for a month of so and then putting her in a proper single bed).
I love this group, coz all our kids are the same age and they are all different and do things at different stages. Just the indaviduality of everyone littly.. makes me smile :)
-
Hollye - the only reason I moved E into a bed so soon was that I had to give her cot back to my sister who is due soon :) But its been great actually, its just a toddler bed but she loves it!
Yep - going to Kenya, I'm going to be doing some charity work for two weeks - so I'm freaking out about leaving the girls, but I know they'll be fine with DH - plus my parents will be there to help. Ive never done anything like it before so I"m excited!
All the best with TTC hun
-
Hi all, heres an update on V. I have to go and get the kids ready for school so will chat later.
Well V had her swine flu injection last week so her next one in 3wks time now. She is cheeky as ever, loves to say Dont while shaking her body from side to side. lol. She has been letting me know when she has done poo poos, so it is getting time to start toilet training me thinks. So we will see.
Ohh and some of you may already know.
but guess who is UTD. hehehehe :shhh::shhh: edd late December/early January. hehehe
Ohhh please facebook friends, please dont mention anything about the BFP on there, just here. Dont want some people knowing right now. Thanks heaps.
-
:D Hi everyone! Long time no post!
Congratulations again to HJ, Csab, Didi and Leigh!! wow, so many BFPs and Im so happy for you! Good luck to CW and Hollye, that BFP is just around the corner
I would dearly looove to be TTC right now, it was the plan, but as some of you may know, DP and I are not in a good place right now so its the not the best thing to be doing, But it doesnt stop me wanting it, bad.
Jacob is doing pretty well, still not walking on his own but Im pretty confident he is just about to let go and he will be off! He now has all his teeth, the last 4 to come thru were his canines and man, they were some rough nights! :shakehead:
I am still BFing him, he has about 3 feeds a day and maybe one at night if he wakes, just cos its easier to get him back to sleep that way!
I havent even thought about TT yet, thinking about getting him a potty soon.
He is also a real chatterbox, never shuts up, cant understand much of it but scarily it sounds like he swears alot!
He now has about 20 words that he will say, his favourite at the moment is "hot" EVERYTHING is hot, he will pull the oven open, get inside and call me, then say HOT.
Im off to buy an oven latch today! he is obsessed with the oven and the dishwasher, tries to get in them all the time, drives me mental!!
sneaky- great tosee you back in here hun, wow, how exciting for you to be something so worthwhile! hope you have a great time.
oh, just wanted to say to you girls losing weight   thats fantastic, I am trying (sorta!) but since I got my license I have just been watching my ass expand...scary.
-
Hi everyone,
Congrats csab, hope you have a great pregnancy!
No annoucement from me yet but fingers crossed for this month.
Well Olive had her first night in a big bed last night and it went really well. She slept from 7-4.50 which is better then she has slept in ages then back to sleep with dh in her bed until 6.40. She has hated the cot for ages so am glad we made the plunge, hopefully it lasts.
Olive is obsessed with playschool atm. I'm glad it's that and not c**p but we have to wean her cause she wants to watch it all the time. Anyone elses LO's have a favourite show yet?
Well done on the weight loss Hollye!
Starry - thats great your bf Jacob, what a lucky little man.
-
SS - OoOoOoOOo your going to be an Aunty soon :) yay! Im so glad E loves the bed!!!! What sort of charity work you doing? (if you dont mind me asking that is). About 6 weeks till you go now.. its around the time I have my next gyno appointment. The one where i hope i have lost enough weight for her liking so she helps me fall pregnant. Thanks for the luck
Csab - V sure is a smart little chicky :) Congrats again on the pregnancy! Hows everything pregnancy wise going? i do remember seeing your thread around..
I have chosen for Mia not to have the swine flu vac at this stage. How many needles is it? Over what sort of period?
Starry - Yeah, i agree... TTC atm probably isnt the greatest idea but i just wanted to give you huge hugs   coz i know how hard it is to want a baby so much and you have to wait and u just cant. Hang in there babe xo
On a brighter note... Jacob is doing so well! All teeth?? WOW! Poor M is still stuck on almost 10, she has cut 2 molars in the past 2 days (exhausting on my part *zzzzz* lol) I have heard the canines can be pretty rough coming through.. must be glad to see they were the last ones!
J will be letting go and running away from you before you know it ;) Dont worry, Mia climbs in the dishwasher here too, and the clothes dryer... lucky my oven is up high or she would have a go at that too! As for the breastfeeding, you are just absalutley awesome! that is all. lol
CW - bummer about this month, i have everything crossed that next month will be your month :) Olive did really well in her big bed!! Hope she keeps it up for you :)
AFM - Not much going on here really. Mia is cutting molars so had a couple every hour wakeups this week. So not suprised if i dont lose weight this week coz i have just been a zombie and have dont **** all exercise. We will see though. My weigh in is every monday nights. Ummm still not pregnant.. still no period. What else?? Mia's fav word at the moment is "backpack" (thanks dora). She will be getting her 18 month needles sometime this week and she has her MCHN check on the 6th May, i think (ill double check that). Shes in size 6 shoes and all her clothes are size 1 except for a few 0's here and there. Last time I put her on the scales she was about 11.3kg (roughly and about 5 days ago).
-
Congrats to all preggers,
Good update Hollye!
Ok jorda weights 10kg and she is in size 18months clothes (Canadian so its by month which is fantastic)
Hollye swine flu vax is 1 injection. I had mine mmm when i found out i was pregnant this time..
We have all been super super sick... bronchilitis, tonsillitis, pnemonia.. croupe.. just fab.. I cant stand the beginning of winter when the kids tend to pic up things.
Weather it be a myth or truth as studies have shown its true,
Ben was breastfeed for 9 months and never gets sick... (knock on wood)
Jorda was breastfeed for 6 weeks and catches everything under the sun... the MCNH said that yup breasfteeding is proven to change their immunity.. well my kiddies are prime examples..
So hope I can breastfeed this little one.
Pregnancy is going well, baby moves so so so so much... never stops.. which is a good thing!
We are going to Canada again in Aug.. 2 weeks after bub is born, so will be nice to be in the wormth with a newborn waking at night!!
To those TTC I am thinking of you all..
-
Hello!
So sorry for this really quick udate on B and for lack of personals! Im pretty tied down with assignments and study at the moment!
So B now weighs 11.3kgs (LOL like Mia, Holl!) she is 84.5cm tall and head is 47.5cm! LOL had the whole works done for her 18mth check!
She is putting words together 3-4words - knows what she wants and how to ask for it! and is getting a bit of attitude at times! but god i love her!
Will try and do personals some time soon! sorry :(
-
Woohooo go B!
I booked Mia in for her 18 month needle on monday.. fun.. (not lol).
Nothing new going on here...
-
Hi Everyone!
Just thought I would pop in and say a big Happy Mothers Day to you all! I hope you wonderful ladies all had a fantastic day and got spoilt by your loed ones.
I received from Jacob a box of Lindt balls and a card with a big no.1 mum badge on it (I was made by DP to wear it allll day, not that I minded! LOL!)
Also inside the card was my first ever line drawing from Jacob! I liked that the best! LOL.
We all traipsed out to my brothers place (his DP is 20wks pg) with all the extended family, my brother has a pizza woodsmoke oven he has just built so he made us all pizzas! was great!
WOW! I cant believe our little bubbas are getting so grown up, where the hell has the last 18 months gone? Blink and it will be their first day of school!
ETA-- Jacob just walked 4-5 steps from me to his daddy!!! Wooohooo!! Completely un aided!!
-
Hi Girls,
Just popping in to say hi and to see how you and your little ones are all going? I am doing well. I'm on the home stretch with my pregnancy now. Only 29 more sleeps to go until my caesar. My caesar is booked at 36wks on the 24th of June. I keep looking at Lara and thinking only a month left of her being my baby and then she'll be a big sister too.
What is new with everyone?
-
Wow leigh not long now.. Why C-sec so early?
-
Hi all,
MM - Ohh thankyou, V is doing well, so very cheeky. Hows M going? Pgcy is ok, should be 9wks this Friday, so 3 more weeks until hitting the 12wks mark. So not looking forward to the hospital visits and the NT scan. Especially after what I went through with V.
Leigh - Wow GL hun, I hope all turns out well and you recover quickly from the c's. Cant wait to hear the BA. hugs
Didi - Your not that much further away than Leigh, hows little Jorda.
HJ - yay for B's weight, thats great. She is 10cms and some taller than V. V is juggling between just under 8kgs and 8kgs, well what I can tell anyway. Shes turned off her food abit lately too, so not fun when your trying to put weight on. Hows everything going with the pgcy?
-
Didi - With DD1 I went into labour with her at 37 wks and had a pretty hard time which resulted in her getting majorly stuck and me requiring an emergency c/s. They had to cut my uterus in the shape of an upside down T. I was told not to labour with any future pregnancies due to fear of rupture. With Lara I had a c/s booked for 38 wks but once again went into labour at 37 wks. The hospital was short staffed and I laboured for 6 hrs before going for my c/s which resulted in my uterus tearing right up and down and across (basically a + sign). Coz I definitely can't labour this time and my body likes to go into labour at 37 wks the safest thing for me and bub is to have it done at 36 wks. It's a month early but better to be safe than sorry. I am praying my body holds out for 36 wks. I am freaking I will go into labour early again. How's your pregnancy going? Do you know the sex? We don't know the sex of bub but I am convinced its another girl, if it comes out a boy I will be surprised.
Csab - Wow 9 wks already, that's gone quick. My fingers are crossed your scan and everything come back with great results. Are you going to find out the sex at your 20 wk scan when the time comes?
-
OMG ladies, I don't come on here for nearly a year and look what happens. Most of you are preggers again :) A very huge congrats to all of you.
We have had some fun this year. In February Meara and my youngest boy Tavis were diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, at the same time!!!!! This is nearly unheard of in medical circles so we are getting very well known now lol. Both are handling the needles very well (4 each per day) and all the BGL tests that have to be done as well.
Meara had her 18 month needles the other week and her stats are as follows - length 83cm, weight 12.8kg, head circ 45.5cm so she is doing really well. Just have to monitor her if she gets sick as it can affect her sugar levels.
I am starting to get that baby feeling again myself so will talk to DF about maybe trying for another one lol. We are a lot older than some of you guys so it will be a bigger decision for us than most. DF is now 50 and will be 51 if we decide to go again and fall immediately and I will be 42 this year. I'm just imagining all the comments though from our families (mainly mine) about having any more. They seem to think that at 5 we should really stop now : ? We do have an extra seat in the van to use up though : ) I'm just hoping that the P/E that I had last time doesn't play up this time. Sounds like I've already made up my mind doesn't it lol.
Leigh - I hope everything goes really well for you this time and that they catch you before you go into labour. (I thought you weren't allowed to have any more after Lara???)
csab - good luck with your pregnancy too. Hope it hasn't been to hard for you.
didi - omg only 10 weeks to go and then you're off to Canada again. Is this for keeps this time or another holiday??
Hopefully I can get on here a bit more regularly now and will keep watch on everyone's chat and keep you posted on my news lol (if any)
Take care
Kim
-
Kim - Good to hear from you again. Glad to hear you are doing well. Poor Meara and your youngest son having type 1 diabetes. Sounds like they are handling it well though. From Meara's 18 mth old stats sounds like she is coming along great. Fingers crossed you can convince DF to have another baby, and don't worry about what your family will think if you do decide to have one more. No I wasn't meant to have anymore babies after Lara but this one was a bit of a slip up. Everything is going well so far and I will be fine as long as I don't labour, that's why I'm having a c/s at 36wks, I went into labour with both my girls at 37wks so hopefully I don't labour before the 36wk mark.
I just got back from the ob, everything is fine. I had a growth scan yesterday. Bub is roughly mearsuring 1.8kgs. So another smallish bub on the way. DD1 was 2.6kg born and Lara 2.7kg.
Hi to everyone I have missed. Gotta go, DD1 just arrived home from school.
-
Hi lovely ladies,
how are you all?
Guess who got a BFP yesterday!! Very excited, still sinking in. I'm only a few weeks, will go to docs on friday.
Olive is going good, abit snotty at the moment but oh so cute and talking so much.
Good luck didi and leigh with your births, hope it is all smooth sailing from here.
-
CW - Fantastic news on your BFP!!! Hope you have a happy & healthy 9 months ahead. Glad to hear Olive is going good.
-
Oh CW you're another one. I'll have to stick on here the baby dust (or is it the water) is fantastic lol. DF is seriously thinking about us having another one :) This may mean that this is my last month on the pill and I will have to start stocking up on Elevit lol.
A huge congrats CW and hope you have a H&H 9 months.
-
Welcome back Kim - and wow thats a pretty big thing to have both bubs diabetic - must be hard on you - but its good to hear they are handling the needles well - that has got to help!
CW -wooohooooo and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
-
Thanks hj for the welcome back. I see congrats are in order for you to ;) I definitely will have to stay around so the baby dust rubs off lol. DF has said he wouldn't mind another one but wants to wait about 3 months to make sure we are back on the same track (had probs a couple of months ago due to DD1).
My kids that have the diabetes are my 19 month old and my 9 year old so only 1 a bubba now. My 9 yo is so good with giving himself the needles and doing all the stuff but not so good with filling in his diary lol. Had to fill in about 6 pages for him today grrrrr.
Wish you were down here studying lol would have been nice to have you with me but maybe you're taking time off as well :)
-
Kim, how did you know your kids had type 1 diabetes?
-
At xmas I took all the kids camping (yes by myself :) ) and I noticed that all they did was drink and pee so when we came home was waiting to see the clinic sister at our local chemist when Meara hit her head. She seemed fine but the next morning was very sleepy so took her to ER and while there told them about the excessive drinking and peeing. They tested her about an hour after that and then things moved very quickly. Her BGL was 22.5 and she was borderline comatose. That was why she was so sleepy. We ended up being transported to the major hospital via special ambulance and she had heaps of tests done and was seen by the head of icu (which scared the crap out of me). I told them my son had the same symptoms and they said when we get him tested if +ve then they will admit him to. Next day he got tested and yep ended up in the next bed to Meara. We were there for a week and spoke to everyone lol. Even had students come through as it was so uncommon to have siblings diagnosed at the same time. I'm just glad I spotted the symptoms.
-
Thanks for all your congratulations everyone.
It's been abit rocky the past couple of days as I have had some pains and the doctors thought it may be an
eptopic pregnancy. Anyway i've had scans etc and I have to get my hormone levels checked every 2 days as they were quite low but are now going up so hopefully it will all work out and it will be a viable pregnancy. I will know more on monday when I have another blood test.
So everyone please cross your fingers for me.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
-
OH CW, my fingers and toes are crossed for you. I so hope everything is ok. It's good that your levels are going up - a very positive sign. Try not to stress to much over the weekend (hard I know) but I will be thinking of you. Take care
-
CW I am so excited for you! I hope bub is in right spot! Thinking of you!!!
I am not having the best of time. baby is 30 weeks and i am measuring 36 lots of fluid around baby, so having day stay weekly and scans every week... .not fun.. I just wnt the baby out but not right now.. Finding this very stressful...
-
Oh didi, was hoping all was well for every impending mother on here. I'm so sorry you are having extra trouble. Will be thinking of you to. Take care xx
-
Where is everyone lol. Thought more would be checking in.
Hey CW and didi how are you both going?? Hope everything is proceeding ok with the the pg's.
Everyone here has been a bit sick now for over a week and am fed up with it. I think I am getting it back and I've only just gotten rid of it!!!!!
Oh well no real news to tell, just thought I'd bring our thread back up to the top lol.
take care everyone
-
Kim - Hope you don't end up sick again & I hope the rest of you family gets better soon. Its not fun when everyone is sick!
Didi - You poor thing, how stressful for you. Will they let you go to 40 wks? My bub was measuring a 3cm over when they measured my fundal height and I had to go for a growth scan last week but as it turns out bub is under average is size, think another smallish bub for me. My baby is breech and they seem to think that might be why I am measuring over, plus extra fluid.
CW - I hope everything is ok with you. How did you go with your bloodtests on Monday?
This time in 2 wks I will have my baby. Im still not fully organised. I am so nervous about having another baby, especially with it being born at 36wks etc. Just hope it will be ok. I'm still convinced Im having another girl.
Hi to everyone else, hope you're all well.
-
Wow Leigh, that is happening quickly. Hope you have a great birth. My DD was born at 36 weeks and she was perfect. She didn't even need to go to NICU or anything. Won't you be surprised if this time it is a little blue package lol.
Hope everyone else is going well.
-
Leigh jorda was born at 36 weeks.. so they say she was.. and not in NICU either and a good 6lbs.. and all good!
-
Congratulations CW, I hope your little bub is in the right spot. Let us know how everything goes. Hugs
Leigh - Wow 2 more weeks, how exciting. What is the reason they are bringing bub into the world at 36wks? Sorry if you have already mentioned it in here. Hugs Hope its a little Blue bundle, not sure if I am going to find out this time, only found out with V. Yet will see how the NT scan goes I guess.
Kim - So is there a chance you are going to be expecting soon? Was reading your ticker. hehehe. GL if you are. It would mean 6 for you too. hugs
Didi - Hows everything going? Hope the little ones are well. hugs
Well V and my other 2 DD's have been struck down with the flu again. Little V isnt coping real well and as you know when they are sick all they want is mummy. Hoping she gets over this soon, I hate it when she is sick. She isnt eating much at all, and that isnt much as she isnt a big eater to begin with, so worried she is going to lose to much weight. Have been battling trying to get her over the 8kg mark and seems as though she is now just over the 7.63kg mark she was 3mths ago.
-
Csab - With DD1 I went into labour with her at 37 wks and had a pretty hard time which resulted in her getting majorly stuck and me requiring an emergency c/s. How your kids getter better soon. Poor little V.
Kim and Didi - You girls have made me feel so much better telling me your kids did fine being born at 36 wks. I'm hoping my bub will be ok too.
Got to go, I'm off to the movies to see Sex and the City with my friends. DH has a day off today so he is staying home with Lara. I'm trying to catch up with my friends while I still can.
-
Lol yes csab we are "talking" about it :) DF is asking the other kids if they would like a little brother or sister and some of them are saying none so we are still deciding. I have to admit it is only the older 2 and DD1 is adamant she is leaving home next year so she won't even be here. DF would like to leave it for a couple more months but I'm going off the pill now (on the sugar pills) to give my body time to adjust. Hopefully I will be on here announcing a BFP soon :) (sounds like we have made up our minds already doesn't it ;) ) I hope little V gets better soon. It is terrible when they are all sick. With Meara having the diabetes everytime she gets sick her sugars go haywire then we have to spend ages getting them right again
Leigh - Meara was 7lb 4oz at 36 weeks so if she had gone the full term I'd hate to think what size she would have ended up lol. Fingers crossed that this bubs hangs in there until then and is ok. Hope you have fun at the movies. Can't remember the last time I went there.
OMG DF SAID YES!!!!!!!! WE ARE GOING TO TRY FOR ANOTHER BABY. NUMBER 6 HERE WE COME :)
-
Didi and CW how are you ladies going???? Hope everything is ok.
Wow Leigh just over a week to go!!! Are you getting excited??? Hope everything goes ok with the c/s and bubs is fine. In fact I know it will ;)
As you can see from the previous post Df has said "yes" he would like to try for another one 8). OMG what are we doing lol. I'm hoping that this one will be a blue bundle as DF doesn't have any relatives to carry on his name. His sister has 2 boys but they are not Shaw's and his brother doesn't have any children and is not likely to (to self centred lol). He loves his girls and really wouldn't mind if it was another one but a boy will even things out (3 of each). Ok gonna sound silly but what is the best way of trying to conceive a boy - opinions please doesn't matter how silly :)
Take care all
-
Kim - That's so exciting that you guys are trying for another one. I really hope it is a blue bundle for you this time. I can't help with conceiving a boy coz I've got two girls lol, if my baby turns out to be a boy it must have been a fluke lol.
10 days to go for me and I am sooooo nervous. I've never been this nervous about having a baby before. Think coz its being born at 36 wks & then I'm worried about the sleep deprivation again, I will be happy when bub sleeps through the night lol. Both my girls were great sleepers and everyone keeps telling me that I wont get another one like them, fingers crossed bub proves them wrong lol.
Hello to everyone else, hope you're all well!
-
Lol Leigh, I have 3 girls but lucked in somehow with the 2 boys :)
Oh my gosh 10 days. I can understand being nervous but there really is no need. You know you will be in the best of hands when your little bubba is born and (god forbid) any thing happens then also the best place for bubs. As I said Meara was born at 36 weeks and she didn't need anything, not even oxygen.
LOL I don't think I've had a full nights sleep in over 3 years. DD2 is still a terrible sleeper and wakes up and gets into bed with us - every night (groan) and she has started DD3 doing it too so now we have 2 girls in the bed with us. We had a cat adopt us over the weekend and now the cat sleeps with us too lol. Our bed is getting very cramped and we have a king size.
I'm worried about getting P/E again as my bp hasn't returned to normal from having Meara. If that happens then I could end up having another c/s and early again. I would love to have a water birth in the birth centre. That's what I wanted with Meara. Will have to wait and see what happens. I might not even be able to fall pg again.
Oh well enough whining, hope everyone had a great long weekend. Take care all
-
Kim - Is it likely that you would end up with p/e again? Does it usually occur in subsequent pregnancies? Fingers crossed that you wont get it again & also that it doesn't take too long for you to fall pg again. I haven't had a full night sleep since having kids either. I am a really light sleeper and it sux at times. DH is a heavy sleeper and never hears the kids (or so he claims) not even with the monitor.
The hospital just called, they've moved my c/s ahead by one day so I am now having bub next Wed 23rd June. Bub will be 35wks 6days. As you know I am high risk & they have the more experienced team of drs do c/s on Wednesdays. I know its for the better but I am sooooo much more nervous now. I am scared of dying myself & leaving my kids behind. All these negative thoughts keep running through my head.
-
Kim I had PE with DS.. and the doc said to me when Pregnant with DD.. is it with the same partner i said YES.. GOSH...
Much less chance with second child and third child etc if same partner.. due to hormones etc. Ask your OB... they can explain.. but i never had it again with any pregnancy SO FAR!!
