csab - V sounds so much like M. Always on the go! Though M was 10 kgs at her recent 2 year weigh in. Which I noticed is on the 3rd percentile! I was so excited to see her on the chart for once!!! :) I hope V is doing well and I hope your pregnancy goes well.

Hello to everyone else. :hello:

M is seeing the ear specialist this week. She's been doing so well over the last couple of months and then last week she got another infection. Poor girl. So I'll see what the specialist says.

My mum had surgery to remove the tumour but it's a lot bigger than they expected and spread into the lining of her bladder. So she has to have another operation to remove her bladder. :(

A good friend of mine has just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She is single and has no kids and now will never be able to. :( :( So so so sad. :(

I had a job interview last week and I think it went very well, but it's still too far from home. It's at a much nicer school though, so I don't know what to do if they offer it to me?!? Do I go for a better school even though it's far away? Or hold out for one closer to home which may or may not happen? Anyway, I have to get offered the job first!!

M loved her birthday and I really enjoyed her second birthday. She was so much more aware of what is going on. It was great to see her eyes light up over the presents.

M has started swim lessons and she absolutely loves going. It's become our favourite thing to do together. :)

Moi - I'm so sorry about your recent bad run, it's not your year for health :( :hug:. As for M's weight... well she always looks just fine to me, she's right for herself if that makes any sense. X is such a boofer, he's 13.7kg (but he is a boy too) and I think most of his weight is in his cheeks lol. I have fingers crossed that you will get a great close-to-home job asap!

Zarava - tell me, how do you stay sane with two little ones? honestly I don't know how you do it with their age gap! Have you got any wise tips for me as I get used to this two-children bizo? Your two look such a happy little pair. I'm sure Miss Ava had a wonderful birthday too :)

Csab - how are you going? How is V? I'm admiring your ticker - 31 weeks, wow. I hope you're going ok, I know it hasn't been an easy PG for you :hug: and GD is always a PITA.

Georgi - c'mon & give us an update you slacker :p

As for us, we're going ok. X is in the chatterbox and "NO" stage of things, but otherwise well. His ezcema has been pretty good, and health over winter not too bad apart from his tendency to croup. Oh and he did have a pulled elbow the other week, that wasn't fun (like a dislocation in his elbow ouchies). He's a right little boofer but still very easy going. He loves his little sister and always wants to give her kisses & "cuggles". Everytime I put her down on the mat for tummy time he has to come over & lie down next to her the same way she is lying. He pats her back to burp her then pats his own back :rofl: it's just hilarious. And he lies so he is eyeball to eyeball with her.. he could not get much closer! I just have to make sure he doesn't squish her with his big boofy boy arms, legs & clodhoppy shoes! He doesn't always realise what he's doing, that's for sure. Annika is going well, stacking on the weight which is great, but has just been diagnosed with eczema which bummed me out (X didn't get it till 2.5 months), and also reflux. We're starting Losec for the reflux, pls cross your fingers for me. She's been a very unhappy baby for the last few weeks, so I feel poor X is getting the short straw at times as Annika has been very demanding, unsettled for 3...4...5... even 10 hours at a time. And it's always just when I think I've got the hang of this "parenting two kids" gig that she's super unsettled and everything turns to chaos. But she also seems in such pain, it's horrible to see. To try and help the reflux/colic, I've cut dairy, caffeine (OMG I KNOW!), chocolate :(, spicy & gas-producing foods out of my diet which seems to be helping also (apart from the fact that it deeply sucks on top of my own restrictions) - oh plus I don't have X's allergy foods either, eggs, treenuts & sesame. Today i was desperately trawling the health food aisle looking for biccies that I could eat! Not easy.

Oh and after my oh-so-not-fun PG, I did also get my tubes cut (ok, cut, burned, cauterized, you name it, I got them to do it!) while I had my c-s. We'd always wanted only 2, and I dont' think it would be fair to my kids to have anymore (I was on crutches the last few weeks of the PG, not fun). I had a very bittersweet moment at the playground the other day when i realised JUST how much X had grown in capability and I had missed so much. I had not been able to take him to the playground since June!! And he really had changed in 4 months! I felt so sad realising how much I'd missed - and I used to hate watching my mum take him off for a walk & a play and knowing i couldn't go. I never want to miss out on such a chunk of my children's lives again! And I still truly truly appreciate my mobility and being able to shop, run errands, walk, take kids to the playground and all those other little things we take for granted as mums of young children. I really missed not being able to do all those things. I am just so glad that it was temporary and I am really very good now, have to be a bit careful and build up some strength but that's fine as far as I'm concerned.

Tips: do joint activities where you can, i find that A really likes to 'help' me with things so if i include he in doing things with Zara then i find i am less likely to have to spend time entertaining her.
When Zara is asleep i run around like a mad woman, ava like's to 'help' so i let her play with the vac or stand at the sink and pretend to wash dishes.. same thing less entertaining and more doing.
GET OUT OF THE HOUSE - we still go to our MG every tuesday, both girls love it.. ava gets her friends and Z gets to be passed around and i get a break.
I do my shopping the same day and yes with both kids by myself, people walking past keep Z occupied and Ava loves shopping anyway.
Both girls like going for walks and it's good for me mentally and physically.
When Z was little i would make sure i had stuff ready for Ava to play with while i was feeding, less likely to come and bug me, i used a carrier a lot when Z was little as i could still do things with A but settle and comfort Z.
Ummmm i think the 2nd time round i was a little less worried about things i didn't do with Ava.. like co-sleeping.. whatever worked worked this time round..
Just go with your gut hun and if someone offers to come round and help out take it.. don't be proud.. i live too far away from everyone and no-one offers... some days i just WISH i had people to come and say SIT have a coffee while i draw with Ava or do your dishes... :) prob all things you know already.

i lvoe this age gap, Z is on the move now and Ava follows her and 'helps' her with toys, she reads to her and tells her NO TOUCHING for things.. it's very cute and very helpful.

Ha ha ha BELFIE.. Yes i'm a slack arse! I just can't seem to find the time to do anything atm.... I'm kicking on.... Made it past BJ's gestation now so I'm so thrilled with that. Also, if it happens now I can birth at the local hospital wooohoooooooo.... I'm more than happy for it happen now if it has to. If I have a ceaser, I'm also gonna get my tubes done. I'm done with having kids too... I don't do pregnancy well, plus we decided a long time ago that two was the limit for us

BJ is doing fabulous. He's still such a good boy. His vocabulary is huge. You can hold converstions with him. He can even spell his name..... He started one day at kindy which he loves (and I love having a day to myself). I've moved him out of the nursery into his bedroom themed with stars & rocket ships. He's still in the cot though. This bub will go into the cradle and we'll start considering a single bed for BJ once we bring this baby home. I figured it's just easier in case my dad, who is profoundly deaf, needs to look after him while i'm in labour.

belfie - Sounds like you've been having a rough time lately. I hope Annika's reflux improves soon. X sounds so gorgeous with A though. :) I held a newborn at MG a couple of weeks ago and M stood at my feet saying "My Mummy!!" over and over. Hmm.. I can't imagine how she'd be if I had a second baby now.

Zarava - Sounds like A and Z are doing well. :)

Georgi - Wow I can't believe BJ is writing his name. What a clever boy! And yay for making it this far in PG. :)

AFM:
- Took M to ear specialist this week. She also had hearing assessments done which show that her glue ears are affecting her hearing, which worries me. The specialist wants to put grommets in and wanted to do them this week, but it just felt too fast for me to process IYKWIM. So we have another appointment booked at the start of December and a plan for helping clear out her snot and we'll see if that works. I also have a second appointment at a different ear specialist whom I heard is very very good. So I want to hold out and see him. That appointment is also in December.

- My mum is having her bladder removed next week!! Eeek. Then it'll be a couple of months of recovery. M and I have really missed her company! It's so much harder without the extra help and support.

- My friend with the ovarian cancer had her ovaries removed and they made a mistake and cut a hole in her bowel. And now she is so very sick in hospital and can't eat or drink while she waits for it to repair. :(

- I got offered the job at the nicer school. But I don't know what to do. It's a 50 minute drive away, which is still very far!! Plus I am worried about being sick all the time next year too and missed lots of work at a new job. But the guy there is so nice and is giving me time to think about the offer and even passed on my details to a closer school (about 30 minutes away). And I have an interview on Wednesday. :) I don't know much about the school though.

- I was soooooooooo sick last week with a really awful illness that was causing me really awful stomach pains. I ended up having heaps of tests done and all that came back is that I was suffering from a very awful viral illness and thankfully nothing worse. But my liver has been affected and I have to avoid alcohol and fatty foods for a while.

MOI - Oh no, no alcohol.. It's just like being pg again. I hope you're feeling better. How awful about your friend, and your mum of course. Gees, it's all happening with you isn't it. It'd be nice for you to get the job 30mins away. That would be so much easier wouldn't it? Good luck! BJ's not writing his name, yet.... We try, but don't have much success with him holding the pencil right. He can spell his name. We say what's your name, he says, Byron, we say how do you spell your name, he says, B Y R O N.... So cute.

And a bit of a hooray for us today. BJ FINALLY did a wee on the potty..... Yay! We've been trying for so long and just couldn't get any action. He has done it outside, when he didn't have any nappy on, and told us before that he was about to do it, but he just wouldn't go on the potty. I really hope this means we can start properly toilet training.

Georgi - Snap lol, Little V did her first wee on the potty yesterday afternoon too. lol. Ive tried her a cople of times, but she wouldnt go. Yesterday morning tried her again but she started to fall asleep on the potty, so put her nappy on, and thought I would try her again that afternoon. Ended up with a brain wave and asked DD1 if one of her dolls wees, which one does, so sat it on her potty and showed V that she was drinking water then weeing in potty. She wanted to then try, so gave her some water she sat there and not long after the potty started playing music and she said to me, mummy... We looked and lo and behold wee wee's. lol. Yayyyyy. So hopefully she will do it again soon, Just a PITA that I have the hospital today so cant try her again until maybe tonight. Yay for BJ...

Moi - Ohhh hun, it certainly is happening for you lately isnt it. Your poor friend and mum. Hope you feel better too soon.

Wow.. very very quiet in here. No posts for a month now. How is everyone?

DH has gone overseas for a week, so I'm all on my own with M at the moment. I am really missing him now! I am so glad he doesn't go away regularly, although just before he left he informed me that he might have to go overseas in January for work for 2 to 4 weeks. :wall:

My mum and friend are both still in hospital but slowly recovering and should be allowed to go home soon. Though it'll still be months till they are back to normal again.

Next week I'm taking M for a follow up appointment with the ENT about grommets and I'm also seeing a new ENT for a second opinion.

I'm busy with reports at the moment but holidays are only TWO weeks away! :dance: I can't wait. I've had some job interviews but have turned down the jobs because they either ended up being full time or too far away. So I might be back at my old school next year. But I asked to teach senior classes which I would enjoy more and offered to work an extra day which they agreed to. So even though it's still far to travel at least I would be happier when I'm there!

My MIL has been s**ting me lately. She never used to annoy me but now she just gets to me sometimes. Like the other day she came over to help out and then after I put M down for a nap she said "I heard you reading M a story before bed and well you read too fast. You need to slow down and pronounce each work so that M can hear the words properly because she doesn't pronounce her words properly." Arghhhhhhh!! She loves to give me annoying, stupid advice like that.

MOI - It must be hard working and looking after M while your DH is away. Hope it's not 4 weeks in Jan. I'd tell your MIL to stick it. How dare she say something like that. I would be annoyed too

Well our toilet training is really no where. He'll do a wee on the toilet when we put him on there but he'll never say he needs to go. He has a few times, and I really thought we were making progress but then he stopped. So I'm just gonna keep plotting along at least until we have settled in after the baby is born then give it a real good go.

His speaking has improved so much. He just says the funniest things now. He says heaps in full sentences.

He's enjoying kindy one day a week. The last two times he has cried when I left but they tell me it was only for a few minutes. When I pick him up he's happy & smiling.

I'm not enjoying the 5am wake ups though. He's been doing it for a couple of months now. Ah well, good practise for when the baby arrives....

Ava is happy to do wees on the potty too but doesn't say when she needs to, i think they are still quite young and some people think i am odd for getting her on the potty already.. SIL commented the 1st time Ava did wees on it "what, ALREADY"... i think that was more jealousy as her 2 didn't go that easily.
She does however run to me now and say MUMMY POOs or you see her in the corner crossing her legs for a wee... or right before she pees on the floor in the bathroom :wall:

AFM: both the girls are going well, Ava loves being a big sister and everything is about Zara until she's figured out she can close her bedroom door and lock her out :rofl:
She loves story time & rhyme time at the library, going for walks, playing outside and collecting bugs & other animals (currently she has 3 butterflies and 6 tadpoles)

I love her talking, this morning she woke up in our bed after a big night out and says Mummy where's daddy gone... i told her he's still at the party... so she says Daddy's at the house with Zac (her cousin) :rofl: and then she looks at me and asks "where's daddy's car"... pmsl i said it's still here.. Ohhhhhh

Awww babies everywhere :)

So what are all the little (or not so little) 2yr olds up to?
Ava is starting to TT herself, she's having a few accidents but that is to be expected but all she wants to do is wear knickers.
Talking lots, as adventuours as ever, i can't wait for X-Mas day with her this year, she's going to LOVE it.

Getting them a swing set with mini tramp and slide.. she will want to be otuside 100% of the time :)

Zarava - Yeah I think this Christmas will definitely be more fun with our toddlers. :) And yay on the TT. I don't know when I'll start. M doesn't seem interested at all at the moment. She goes through periods where I think she's getting ready to TT and then will lose interest.

I took M for a second opinion at a new ENT and her ears had both cleared. :dance: I am soooo relieved. I really didn't want to go down the grommets path. But the ENT did say it's possible it'll happen again next year. So we're not out of the woods yet. Next year I have to take her for regular hearing tests to make sure her ears stay OK.

My mother was doing really well, then had a relapse and had to go have more surgery. But she's finally home now. And I hope that's the end of all the surgery and it's all uphill from here.

I'm on holidays now for 5 weeks. :dance: M will still go to CC and I will use those days to get stuff done. I need to plan for my classes for next year.

Speaking of CC I can't decide whether to move her or not. She's settled into her current CC and I really like the staff and M seems to get on with everyone including the children but it's closer to where we used to live. Though it's not too far from home. Only a 10-15 drive away. There's another CC near home I like but they don't have any places and there's a long wait list. Then there's another CC which is run by the same people as the one she's currently at and only a few doors down from our current place. So a couple of mins walk away! But even though it's run by the same people it's a much bigger centre, which I don't like because it's not as homely & cosy as the one she's currently at iykwim. But it is closer to home and she'll go to school around here so she'd make friends with people closer to home and transition to school with them. But if I move her I'll have to go through the whole unsettled transition phase. What should I do?!?

MOI - I'd be concerned about changing CC if she's so settled in there. What if she hates the new one? Good to hear her ears are both cleared.

BJ is doing great. Still not toilet trained as he seemed to take a step back so we decided to settle Eden in first then go hard on it. He definately won't do number 2's. He wakes so early in the morning, like 4.45 or 5am, but he'll sleep for 3 hours during the day. I'm gonna start waking him during the day at 2 hours as I won't be able to cope waking to Eden at 4am then having to start my day on minimal sleep. He is a fantastic talker. He surprises me alot on the things he says. I wonder where he got it from. Also, he's still in the cot. Again I wanted to get settled in with the baby before we make the transition. Probably in the next month or so I'll put the mattress on the floor to begin

He loves Eden but is still very rough with him. BJ was always very gentle but lately he's turned into a real boy. He can be so rough at times

It has 2 kids swings, a baby swing and then the double swing i think, i thought it's perfect for 2 kids, for now Ava can use the big swing and Z can use the baby one they have the double to share and then both have a big swing later on.
Congrats on the birth of Eden hun... i hope your all settling into having a newborn around... it's a wonderful experience and i'm sure BJ is an awesome big brother :)

Moi - hope everything stays settled for you guys over x-mas and your mum can enjoy some rest time.

CONGRATS on the new bubseys

Since ive been missing I dont expect you to know that we had welcomed DS2, Tiger, into the world on 20/10/2010. He's VERY different to Dragon...needs heaps of attention and foremost, he's a chucky little baby :(

DRAGON has been a little brat, he's still very limited in what he can say, but he's slowly picking it up. Other kids his ages are able to string sentences together, but he's still stuck at the single words and baby babbles stage....sometimes just wish he talked so we know what he wants!!

TT: we're nowhere near it although I really wished the would sometimes. He knows when he's done a poo but refuses to use the toilet *sigh* hopefully sooner or later he'll get there. Im thinking maybe I just need to spend a good solid few days at home with him minus the nappy, but I just havent had the energy or time yet as DS2 loves his cuddles...

UPDATE on us: Our shop's been open for almost a year now, we've been lucky that we've been really busy. But now that we've gotten to the stage where the turnaround rate is too slow that we'll be changing from sole trader to company as we'll be having someone buy into the business to increase the productivity. Han being a panelbeater by trade, we're now having a spray painter by trade so hopefully things will speed up...

Also, pretty sure it was you girls who have been listening to me crap on about Han's little habit...well, an update...he's been good for most parts and he's now been officially off the meds for a few weeks. Just hope that he wont be relapsing. He knows that he has much to lose now with the business and the 2 kids. So hopefully that will be enough encouragement for him to stay on the right track.

Anyways, think that's enough yakking from me. Good to hear that everyone is doing well, welcome to the new bubs and have a happy holiday

Hello everyone.

I've been back on the forums with my new belly buddies, including helly, so I thought I'd drop in and say hi.

Big congratulations on all the babies. You all sound like you're in baby bliss. Hope Christmas was happy for all.

Tanya: you're so strong. Very amazing.

Teru: Jude's language is poor, too. He says some words backwards and struggles with pronunciation. My mum reminded me I didn't talk at all until I was 3, so I can't complain because he can talk a bit, and at least he's trying. Apparently I just grunted. Now I don't shut up, and my intelligence, while questionable, has always got me by.

We tried tt Jude but in the end he just decided on his own to use the potty. We woke up one morning to find him emptying his potty in the toilet, he'd never used the potty before. He used to just sit on it to watch tv. We'd explained it all and watched videos on youtube, so he was just biding his time. Crazy funny boy.

We still haven't bought him a Christmas present, we went to Sydney so we didn't want to carry his gift. Now I don't know what to get him. Poor boy.

Ohhh wow, thanks everyone. Thankyou too georgi for letting everyone know about Chloe. Have to say they have definately got her into an undesirable routine at the hospital, so hoping that her sleep/eat patterns improve soon. Was up with her since 2am until 5.30am this morning.

Little V is being such a lovely big sister, and is getting pretty protective of her little sister. its really cute to see. She is always kissing her too. V is doing well too, and will be having another weigh in on the 31st this month with her pead, little Chloe is also going to be a regular at the peads for now.

V is such a chatterbox, and a little boss to all the other kids, she is such a funny little thing.

Georgi - I too havent got to the stage of toilet training V either, I too had decided to let myself settle into some sort of routine with Chloe before attempting again. Even though V is always racing off getting a nappy. I just dont think i have the energy right now for that just yet. lol.

Kuraiza - Congratulations too on your pgcy.

AFM I was doing really great till last weekend. I thought my mother's cancer had been all removed and I thought she would be on the road to recovery now. So I even started thinking of maybe trying for baby number 2 sometime mid-year. Then last weekend my mother found out that she still has cancer! The mass was just far too big to remove it all. :( And as you can imagine I am devastated. :( I have no idea what'll happen next. We're waiting for her to have a scan around mid-feb to see if she'll need another operation or chemo or radiation. And I am so scared I am going to lose her! And with my illness and lack of support I don't know if I could manage another child? So I am also devastated about that, wondering if I can have another child or not and manage two children and an illness? :(

CSAB - BJ is a great big brother too. Better than what I was expecting. He loves kisses E, it's so cute to watch. He has learnt to be gentle which is great.

Well I have some good news... BJ is out of nappies... Yay. He takes himself to the potty to do number 1 & number 2's. Yesterday we went out for 3 hours and he held onto his wee till we got home. He also has dry nappies during his daytime sleeps which he sleeps for 3 hours. It's still early days but he's doing fantastic

very quiet in here....

It's been so long since anyone wrote in here. I don't know if anyone will ever read my post. And it took me ages to even find this thread! :lol:

Anyway, I've been pretty quiet because my mother passed away in February. It was all very sudden for me. But since then I have discovered that she knew she was terminal back in October last year and kept it from me. To protect me but all it's really done is hurt me because I've missed out on time with her. If I'd known how bad it was earlier I would have been seeing her a lot more, rather than giving her space and time to recover. So from the moment I found out she was terminal to the day she died was all of 6 days! I miss my mum so so so much. She was not just my mum but my best friend too. And some days I don't know how I'll keep going on without her.

Now I have no parents any more, which also makes losing my mother that much harder. There's just no one else like your parents and especially like your mum.

M has been a godsend though. She doesn't understand what has happened of course, but having her here is such a comfort. She is doing really well developmentally. She is now TT for the daytime. The only bad thing is that she has glue ear again and so we've decided to have grommets put in. I was devastated with the idea at first. I know it's simple, quick, common, etc but it's my little girl and I don't want to put her through it at all. But I am getting more used to the idea now and she does have a big hearing deficit so hopefully the grommets will help.

I've just got to add on a funny note, M's favourite show to watch at the moment is "Wallace and Grommet" and I keep thinking she'll be imagining dogs (Grommet) being put into her ears. :lol:

Hun your doing such an amazing job, i can't imagine life without my parents and i think it would be expected that you be a little upset/angry with not knowing sooner.

AFM: Ava is TTing during the day, she's already reached 10 stars on her potty chart in 3 days, a couple of slight accidents but she's quite keen on going and only wants to wear knickers.
She wants to wear them to bed but we say NO for now, will wait a bit longer and get a matress protector etc etc

She's quite the little adventurer/ handful at the moment, everything is 100% go go go, from motorbikes to animals to 'helping' to tantrums, you name it it's a HUGE production on her behalf.
She's quite good with Z but they are both testing me of late.

I am enrolling ehr into 3yr old kinder for next year, we went and looked at 1 and she didn't want to leave, she actually CRIED when we did and all she wants is a kinder bag and a lunchbox :rofl: and to play with the kids.

Moi - huge hugs hun :hug: I think what you've been through is so tough. I don't know what it's like to not have your parents, and I realise how much we should appreciate our families in our lives and not take them for granted. So hard for you to find out the way you did, and I know the meniere's doesn't make it easy either! I know I'm crossing forums, but I know you've had a few more vertigo attacks recently which is a horrible awful thing to have to put up with. Regarding M, well I had to have a little giggle at the thought of M thinking she'd be getting a little dog in her ear! And congrats on the daytime TTing!

ZF - aah we so have to have a melb girls catch-up. Next school hols mebbe? Congrats to A for TT'ing, I'm not surprised she's doing well too. That's so funny re kinder, too cute.

AFM well we're not even thinking about TTing X yet. He's a boy lol. Maybe Jul/Aug... or more into spring. We'll see. Otherwise he's pretty good. He's just been diagnosed with mild asthma. I'm actually quite relieved as it means he's getting preventer now and can have ventolin at daycare if required. He doesn't have a traditional wheeze but he is SO like my sis & my DH (both asthmatics) who always get the big chesty rattly cough at the drop of a hat. And finally after I queried ALL last winter, the doc this year said yep, that's mild asthma. Admittedly he was never gonna be diagnosed before 2 anyway without a big attack, but still, I think we're on the right track now. And hopefully this means he won't have to have a big attack! He's finally starting to have some 2yo tanties... he's so laid back it's hilarious... takes his own sweet time to get to each stage. We were down in Tassie with my folks and they left his absolute fave toy at home. We're all discussing it in the car and he's like "Mummy, don't wowwy (worry)". What a kack, he's telling US not to worry cos we forgot his special toy!?!?! I mean, seriously! He still adores Annika, and it's lovely watching the two of them start to interact more. He likes to do full body cuddles where he just lies on her, and I'm saying X you're too heavy, don't squish her. But underneath she's just beaming!

Apart from that, can't remember if I'd mentioned it, but my DH was unwell with vertigo from Dec to April. It was pretty foul for everyone as he was struggling to work, and so wrecked from trying to, that he wasn't able to help out with anything else - so I found that really tough with Annika very unsettled too (she's got reflux) but DH is finally on meds that have worked now which has made a massive difference. We're hoping to get him off the meds later this year as they have some nasty side effects, but it's just so nice to feel more like a normal family again. I don't know how single mothers do it - honestly it was just hell. Four months is a helluva long time to be taking things one day at a time cos you're just so goddamn busy. So I am loving having him "back" again. Plus now Annika is 8mths so her routine is pretty good and everything is considerably saner.

Hope everyone else is going well... can't believe our babies will be turning 3 this year. Oh my goodness!

Were pretty good here, got a new car (:dace:) and A loves it, she tells everyone we bought a new car :rofl:, she's got quite a decent 2yr old attitude on her at the moment.
She gets along really well with Z and yesterday she was 'writing' in a notepad and then said Z come here so Z sat with her and A says "once upon a time ...." turns page "a little girl was at the microwave" :rofl: i was busy and didn't hear the rest of this wonderful made up story.

She's still about the same with her TTing at the moment, she has her days where all she wants to do is use the toilet and other days where she just wants nappies.

Is anyone else having problems with a VERY emotional child, the other night she BAWLED her eyes out saying "you've picked the wrong ones" when i put her in her PJ's.
She also cries at the drop of a hat if she forgets something or isn't getting something she wants - is this just terrible 2's?

SO thats a bit of an update from us, DP is back at work and were slowly catching up on things so hopefully were back to smooth sailing ASAP.

I had my baby girl a week and a half ago. She's beautiful but having tummy issues, so today I'm lactose free, coffee and chocolate free too until I work it out.

Jude chose the day I came home from hospital to drop day sleeps, so that sucks. He's been very loving to Lilac giving her kisses constantly, but he's been acting out. He has always been a perfect angel and I know it's a confusing time so I'm trying to be patient.

He was fully tt for ages too but that took a bit of a hit. So much going on for the little Guy, I feel bad. It's rough on a total mummies boy who is full-time SAH. it's a big adjustment to share me, and because she has tummy issues I'm quite distracted.

kuraiza - congrats on the arrival of Lilac! Sorry to hear she's been having tummy troubles. We went through the same with Annika, geesh it's foul cutting out the caffeine when they're so unsettled. Good luck, I really hope it works for you (FYI, with us she ended up needing losec for reflux). Awesome work on the tt too. It is a big adjustment for them having a new little person arrive. I found X was really loving to Annika, but one day (through the really unsettled patch) he was crying at the baby gate for "cuggles", my heart nearly broke in 2. That was the day I realised I needed to get some help for Annika and that things were more than just newborn unsettledness!

ZF - thanks for asking re X. He's off the preventer now and lungs are sounding really good again, so we have :crossfingers: that he'll get through the rest of winter without needing more. He did get sent home with head to toe hives last week tho... arrrgh that was a pain! That's awesome re the new car, must be great. Re the emotional 2's, omg I hear you. X took a while to get there, but he's definitely there now. Says yes to something, then no, then cries... lol. I've also had some friends say that the 3's are just as bad... eeep I don't wanna hear that!!! I must admit most of the time he's not TOO bad... but definitely a lot more tantrums and WHINING than we used to have. I seem to spend a lot of time asking him to say things in his "normal" voice. His other horrible habit is just screeching when he gets frustrated at his toys. So I'm trying to channel that to a more constructive response too. I'm waiting to hear which spots we get for 3yo kinder, as I missed out on the school we wanted, boo. I can't believe they'll be 3 soon too. Amazing!

Otherwise all is good here. DH is still mostly ok (apart from a kidney stone a few weeks ago) which put him in hossy. One of our cats was attacked by a dog and subsequently died, that wasnt' fun either :(. Little miss Anni Shae starts at family daycare (FDC) on Monday with X. She wasn't meant to start tilll the 18th but I moved it up as I have heaps of end of FY bookkeepign work to do for DH's business. I'm still trying to work out what I'll do work-wise too (was made redundant earlier this year). I'm really hoping Annika goes ok at FDC. I think it will really help that X is with her (not like long daycare where they'd be in separate rooms) as they still just adore each other. She still doesn't drink much that isn't booby, so I think her & the daycarer will be working it out together which isn't quite what I wanted.. but I really don't want to ask my carer to keep her spot open any longer (she's already kept it open & empty for months). Plus Miss Annika is a big girl (10kg now :o) & eats HEAPS, so I just have to remind myself that she'll be fine.

Congrats on the weight loss BELFIE. I just saw it in your sig. Gosh, I wish I could shift this 12kgs. I've been exercising but really need to take a look at my diet.

I guess with facebook we all seem to know what's happening with each other lol. It's free on my iPhone so easy for me to play with

BJ is growing up fast. He's such a big boy now. And so cheeky. He was such a quiet, placid kid and some days now he's just a monster! He's still quiet & placid compared to some other kids I see but he's definately changing. Thankfully his night wakings of needing to do we wee's has finally ended. I figured out that he didn't need to really do we wee's, just wanted the attention in the middle of the night. So for a couple of nights I didn't attend to him & that was the end of that. Phew!

He's still in day care only once a week. He loves it. I'd love to put him in another day but work is quiet so I can't justify it.

Not long till his 3rd birthday. I'd really like to get him a bike. With training wheels of course.

He loves his little brother. Now that Eden can interact better Bj just adores him.

Thanks Georgi - I'm so pleased about it. I don't know how Eden is feeding, but if you're BF'ing, it's really worth trying to lose the weight now. I started when Annika was 6 months cos I so wanted to take advantage of it. I'm trying to get to my goal weight by the time she's 1 in Sept.

So glad to hear your boys are adoring each other, it's gorgeous to see isn't it! I know what you mean about them growing up. X used to be so quiet too, but not anymore! I swear he was trying to set a world record for yelling NO today. Arrrgh so frustrating!!

he has also gone backwards with his toilet habits since Lilac was born. I know this is common, but I thought since he toilet trained himself with not much input from us, that it would be OK. Also, he's been using the loo for so long now I'm really pretty shocked and don't know what to do. He had outgrown his cloth nappies so I don't have nappies and I don't really want to go back to that.

KURAIZA - I wouldn't be putting him back in nappies if he's been toilet trained for so long (i would for night & sleep). I reckon you'll just have to ride out the storm. Just show him how disappointed you are and say oh yukky wee wee or oh yuckky poo poo that's yukky. Gosh, I feel for you. I hope it's not too long a battle

BELFIE - I know they say that BF helps lose weight, I know it sounds strange, but I think it hinders my weight loss. I didn't lose it till I stopped BF Byron. I am still feeding. Eden is 7 months old now. I so badly want to, cause I feel so awful. Perhaps it's all in my head

AFM - Well I feel like I have never ending bad luck at the moment. Of course I am still struggling with my mother's loss. Then DH went away for work and I got a kidney stone in the middle of the night, while I was all alone with Maya. It was so painful I should have been in hospital and I did call an ambulance, but I couldn't bare taking M to hospital in the middle of the night so I decided to just go it alone. The next day I was an absolute wreck and no one would come help me with Maya. It was the worst day of my life. I felt so sick. So much pain. So unbelievably tired. And having to look after M all by myself. Since then I've been feeling the loss of my mum even more. Now there is no one in this world any more who would drop everything to be there for me when I really need it. :( And I'm having big problems with my brother. I don't talk about him much with anyone. I guess I feel like he will reflect on me some how. But my mother was a big buffer between him and me and now that she's gone, he's texting me all the time. Like 20+ times a day. He's lying to me. He's stolen from me. And he begs for money from me. It's just another stress in my life that I just don't need. He suffers from a mental illness but he won't seek help and there's not much I can do about it. He doesn't have a job and mum gave him money all the time, but I can't do that. I have Maya!

As for Maya, she had grommets put in about a month ago. I haven't noticed much difference in her speech, but she's stopped saying "Huh?" all the time. So she must be able to hear better. Her ENT said he removed a lot of muck from her ears and she was a bad case, so I am glad we did it. And t he whole procedure went much better than I expected. M is TT during the day, but I don't know when/how to start night time training. M goes to CC three times a week, even though I don't actually work enough any more to cover the cost I really feel like after everything that has happened I do need more of a break. And at CC they want to move her to the 3 year old kinder room now. They think she's more than ready. So she'll start kinder in two weeks time and we'll see how she goes. If she wants to move back she can.

Georgi - woo hoo, you can do it! If you try looking at your diet. I just tried both WW and CK after X, and lost about 8kg. This time I've just done CK, and I just do it for a short time, and it helps me to realise where I might need to tighten my game a little. When I stopped BF'ing, omg I noticed the calorie difference. I figure that trying to lose weight when I'm BF'ing is kinda like having gone for a run each day before I even get out of bed - it's awesome!

Kuraiza - yup, I hear you on the terrible 2's. Shocking aren't they. X has days where he's great, so cute & polite... and other days whingy X comes out too play. Re TT, we haven't done it yet, so I can't give you any advice there! GL tho. How is Lilac going now?

With the TTing maybe just stick with it a bit more again, reassure him it's ok to use the toilet and your there, he's still TT'd early so you should be very proud.
People ask about me TTing A already and i said it was her choice, she is not fully TT'd but has her days where she wears knickers all day with no accidents and then others where she does a wee and screams the house down.
I think we are lucky though as i know people who have to push theirs kids to TT in time for kinder. IYKWIM.

I love how she interacts with Z, she likes to 'read' to her by opening a book and making her own story, the other day it was "once upon a time, there was a girl at the microwave" :rofl:
She's counting to 10 on her own which is great as she could do this from about 18mths then stopped and started jumbling up all her numbers and will copy me counting until well over 30.
She loves our library days and comes home and sings the songs word for word to herself.

I'm amazed at how much they can soak in, you can have a proper conversation with her, she'll answer the phone and know who it is and just walk off and talk to them, my mum called and all i heard was "hello _ Hi Nanny P _ I went to the library and did dancing _ no Liz read a book _ your silly nanny _ ok bye love you" :rofl:
TTing is going ok, we have the heaters on all day so if she wants she can run around in knickers, she wears pull-ups or a nappy when we go out but had a few accident the other day with some runny #2's so got quite upset.
I can't believe they are 3 soon, where have the years gone, A wants a motorbike :p but DP and i are undecided, he wants to wait another yr but i'd prefer to give it to her now so she is used to it and if she falls off she's less likely to be going at speed :rofl:

I know. I was referring to the recent episodes and only joking. Just funny how we seem to have followed each other with the vertigo and kidney stone. Do you know why J gets kidney stones? My DR thinks it's because I might be getting too much calcium. I LOVE my milk. But excess calcium is just one of the many possible causes.

zarava - I'm not sure where the middle would be? What about meeting in the city?

This week M started in the 3 year old kinder room. Her carers felt that she was more than ready to move up. So that was nice to hear. :) Unfortunately she's had a few toileting accidents at CC, and I don't know if that means she's stressed about the change. But the carers tell me that she's been really happy. So it could also mean that she's just too distracted. :lol:
