raffy :( Get better soon. A UTI is no fun, a super UTI must really suck.
re solids This eve we tried the first day of our new routine - a little BF followed by daddy time while I cook and express, then a family dinner including some farex. End with a bath. Great plan!
Z had about 1/2 spoon of farex and played with her toys during dinner. Immediately after dinner she started looking for a BF. I've just fed her and now she's snoozing, so I spose the bath is out too. Just when I think we're all ready for a routine and solids, Z shows me different!

phewww plz excuse my spack attack, ive had dinner now and im feeling much better
Sparkles - sorry to hear about Tys sleeping. i have no idea what it could be. hope it gets better soon and you discover the problem. poor little man.
Pretz - yep Coops does the same thing when it comes to rolling  silly bubbies. im sooooooooooooooo glad noah slept so dam well for you. what you described is exactly what we are doing with Cooper and it has made a world of difference. last night i put him in his cot gave him a kiss told him i loved him patted his bum for a sec and walked away and............ silence. not a peep. he just fell straight to sleep  it was awesome.
meela - we are having the same conudrum when it comes to ttc again, my heart is ready now but my head and my bank account beg to differ  hope Z enjoys her food. Cooper LOVES his :)
Vix - has AF arrived. mines not so much the fact ive had it for so long its the fact its messing with my head and my mood and my relationship with DF and Cooper. needless to say im over it :shakehead:
AFM - well as i said in my little mental breakdown before i went to the doctors today and after about 10 minutes of explaining which meds to take when im now *hopefully* on the road to recovery. im now taking 2 lots of Anti Bs, a stronger Anti Dep, and the pill, its crazy some have to be taken twice a day and others on an empty stomach ahh haha oh well as soon as i get my head around them all they can do their thang :)
ummm went to the CC centre today, all is great she said she'll get me in when they have some work for me which should hopefully be in the next few weeks, she also said i can come in and volunteer when ever i like which i think i will do just to show how keen i am to work, and on top of that if i ever get stuck with Cooper and have no one to look after him i can bring him in for $10/day hes there :o
speaking of cooper, hes a tummy sleeper, so at 5am this morning he starting screaming, so i ran in and he was lying on his back with his arms in the air, haha he had rolled over in his sleep and scared himself, i couldnt help but crack up laughing lol.
anywhooo DF is home from work early today so i might go hang with him while im in a good mood coz unfortunately it changes quickly :wall:
-
Glad to hear you're feeling better now Raffy. I've never had a UTI myself, so don't know what they feel like, but my sister gets them alot. Just one night on the grog with no water does it to her! She also says cranberry juice is great.
DS was a tummy sleeper too. He's not so worried now, but when he was little I'd feed him to sleep, then if I tried laying him on his back he'd startle & fling his arms out, waking himself up. If I put him on his tummy, he was fine!
Can't comment on AF. Still non existant here. Held off for 9 months with DS, then was only every 6 - 8 weeks, then every 2 weeks. I figured I mustn't be O'ing coz 2 weeks just isn't long enough for any full cycle, but I was wrong, & so we have Summer ;)
I think even though I only BF DD1 for about 6 weeks & DD2 for about 4 weeks, AF still held off til they were about 4 months old. Then I went straight back on the depo (which reminds me..........)
-
Clover- cooper is exactly the same when I try and lay him on his back also he refuses to wear a blanket let alone be swaddled so that's out of the question. And when I discovered he preferred his tummy was when he started sleeping through the night to. Aww bless what a gorgeous little whoops summer is :)
Afm - put cooper in his cot, kiss, I love you... Nothing again. I'm loving it, I feel a millions times less stressed than I would be at this time. He's such a good boy :heartbeat:
-
 Don't get me started on blankets! DS is turning 3 & still refuses to have a blanket on!
I just used to make sure he was dressed warm for bed, so he didn't need it. Sleeping bag dressing gowns are good. I got mine from Best & Less. Not Gro Bags. These ones are fleecy & have sleeves, then zip at the bottom. One of ours actually had a little slit between the legs for pram/car seat harness! It was well used by us. I have one for Summer. Need more, I think I gave DS's away.

Hi All,
Well we made it home safe & sound. Have been sick as a dog, bought a lovely lurgy back from England :( Madi had her 4 month immy's & got bad fevers & I had bad fevers, so we were a miserable pair for a couple days
Raffy- Aww sorry to hear you have a bladder infection & you feel like crap. It all just sucks sometimes.
Meela - Hi, & welcome :hello: from me, Zoe is a lovely name.
Hi to everyone else!
AFM - Well Madi was great on the plane again, but since we've been home (a week) her sleeping is still awful!!!! gone is my 12 hr a night sleepyhead, now she wakes between 5-20 times a night :o i am soooo freakin exhausted...All she wants is her dummy back, but as soon as she drops it, she kicks off again. I just don't get it. She's had a dummy from the start & once she dropped off, she spat it out & went without for the rest of the night. :wall: I think i've actually "broken" her now.
We were doing really well with feeds too, she was accepting all her bottles & drinking her milk - until last night. Now the screaming at each feed has started again. The only thing I can think of is that the Losec suspension is only good for a month, & was due to be chucked today & start a new batch. Maybe its stopped working a bit earlier & I need to replace it after 3 1/2wks instead? :dunno: She's fine with solids - powering on 3 x a day, gets grumpy when she's finished.
And the 3rd drama is now she's rolling over, she does it in bed, so i've changed from her swaddle suit to a sleeping bag - but she keeps rolling onto her tummy & screaming cause she drops her dummy as she rolls & she wont roll back either, even though she knows how to.
I'm sooo sorry for the ranty venty post. Im just really devastated about it all & feel like i'm starting to crack with the stress of it all  I've started back on my anti depressants (18months off them) but they haven't started working yet. I feel like i've done something really, really wrong with my parenting of Madi, cause how the hell can there be so many probs?? I never encountered anything like this with the other 2.
Well tomorrows a new day - sigh.
hugs to you all
Bec xo

Clover - i do the same thing and just make sure Cooper is wearing a full suit to bed so he doesnt get cold, it seems to be working fine now but the weather is cooling down already, target its having a sale on sleeping bags (the ones with the holes in them that you discribed) and they are sleeveless so i can just put him in a long sleeve suit or short sleeve to accomodate for the weather. i think thats the go, but also im thinking why fix whats not broke?? he is an absolute champion sleeper and doesnt seem to mind if he gets hot or cold, its just me that worries lol
Beckles - :comfort: im sooo sorry babes. i wish there was something i could do or say to make you feel better. all i no is that no matter what you are doing the best job. and you definately havent broken her! maybe talk to someone about how your feeling and someone that might be able to help you. huge hugs hun. always here if you need to vent :)
AFM - gotta dash my son has decided hes going to creep forward off his mat about 2 metres while im typing this and is almost about to head butt a wall hahah dork
-
We have tooth number three. It is up the top, next to where her top right front tooth should appear. Weird! The boys had bottom teeth and then top teeth come through, nice and neat but this is just gonna look plan weird! lmao

Glad to hear that all the babies are doing the same as Noah and I'm not the only one having to roll him over to his back constantly with him rolling on his tummy and not being able to roll back on his back! lol :p
Meela - Good luck with your sleep class next fortnight, hope you find some good info/tips. I did one on Tuesday and trying the controlled crying thing to help him to learn to self settle and boy oh boy I gotta tell you I think it's true what they say when they say it's harder for you then them - I hate hearing Noah crying, but I know it's best for us both in the long term. Sometimes it seems it kind of works (like the past 3 nights he has put himself to sleep in his cot without a peep) but during the day for naps, he will fight and fight and cry and cry and I swear it doesn't work, but I keep trying. ;)
Clover - Don't feel pressured by anyone to start solids until you and Summer are both ready. I have been giving Noah solids, although there has been some days where he has just plainly refused to eat it, even though he enjoyed a specific food/flavour the day before. I just don't force it seeing as I'm still giving him plenty of breast milk and his 2 bottles of formula a day. ;)
Vix - Oh honey, I'm so sorry about your councellor leaving. That well and truly sucks when you have someone you really like and trust only to find they had left. I feel like that about my GP, he is a very kind and caring GP and I have been seeing him for 4 years now (old GP left which was really nice too, but glad I got an even better one) and I find my GP so good that I go to see my GP 35 mins away, even though there are GP's about 10 mins away (I would go see them in an emergency offcourse should I need to). Yay for Alannah's Baptism being booked. I'm waiting back from the Rev at the Cathedral in the City to hear about Noah's. I'm not planning a big thing for it, just inviting my MIL, SIL, BIL and a couple of close friends and that's it. Did AF end up showing up?? Yay for Alannah's 3rd tooth! Noah is still teething on and off, although I think it has settled for the moment (perhaps why he is sleeping so much better).
Raffy - So sorry to hear about the bladder infection honey. Thought that was what it was. They well and truly SUCK! I hope that all the meds kick in and work for you soon! Huge 's!!! Glad to hear the way you're putting Coops to sleep is working so well for you too, I sure do feel like a million bucks finally getting some decent sleep! I almost forgot what it was like to get more than 5 hours for the entire night! lol
Bec - So sorry to hear how you're feeling and that both you and Madi were sick. I don't have any advice to offer either on everything that is going on with Madi and her sleeping. I don't think you have broken her either - in fact, if it helps/makes you feel a bit better, I have had the same thing with Noah for the past 3 or so weeks waking 3-5 times a night and it really kills your head and you feel utterly exhausted. Perhaps it's just a stage they go through. They do say babies sleep patterns change around the 4-5 month mark, so perhaps that's what it is? If it continues to go on, I would recommend having a chat with your GP or a CHN to see what they might suggest you can try. Huge 's for you!!
Nikki - Hope you had a better night's sleep with Ben last night. These boys seem to just be hungry all the time! DH said that he would buy Noah a blow up doll with boobs and he would put a couple of bottles of formula in there and then put it with Noah in his cot so that when he wakes he can just help himself to the boobies! Kind of think it could be a very good idea! lol
AFM, had another really good night's sleep last night. Noah slept from 7:15pm til 2:15am (7 hours straight!!!!!!) and then woke for a feed, unfortunately he was up until nearly 4am after that just didn't want to go back to sleep so I walked with him and rocked him and eventually he crashed at 4am and slept til nearly 8:30am!! That's nearly 12.5 hours for the night! I'm soooo impressed. Even I had a total of 9.5 hours! Yay!!! It sure makes a world of difference. Today though has been different, he didn't want to settle on his own in his cot the entire morning, just kept crying. Thanks to Vix who txted me at just the right time I took him for a walk in the pram for 20 mins outside, he was calm, came inside and he fell straight asleep. Only slept for 30 mins though woke, had a feed and just went to sleep again about 20 mins ago so hopefully he lasts a bit longer now.
I should get going and do dishes, haven't done anything today and laugh if you like but I'm actually still in my PJ's!
Love to you all!

nikki -love the new pics on fb. the kids are growing up so fast, both are just beautiful. your house/garden is starting to look really great too. I wish I had the money to get my garden going. Not quite sure what I even want to do with it yet..
raffy -oh that really sucks about the UTI and all the meds. hope you are feeling better in no time! cooper sounds so cute and cheeky. love how he freaked himself out by rolling over LOL would have been funny. little buggers hey. that is great about work, hope you can get in and volunteer and get a foot in the door! wow $10 a day is awesome if you ever have to take coop with you.
clover -wow still no AF you are lucky. I'm currently on round 2.. sucks. much more pleasant not having it for 12 months.
beckels -aww hun, dont beat yourself up. you haven't done anything wrong with Madi. you are doing a great job! she may have a touch of jet lag? or maybe she is teething and the dummy helps soothe her? sending you lots of sleepy vibes for the pair of you. hope your anti's kick in soon and you start feeling a bit better and less stressed. we are always here so vent away ;)
pretz -vinny isn't doing the rolling over thing like the other bubs. he's only ever rolled half a dozen times in a month and has yet to go from back to belly. so at least we dont have rolling in bed hassles yet :) that is really good that Noah has been sleeping better :) V slept til 5am last night. that makes I think 6/8 nights now. So I'm quite pleased with how its been. Although still not getting perfect sleep myself due to the weather, colds etc.
vix -wow 3 teeth!! thats pretty good tooth growing you've got there. V has no sign of any yet at this stage. According to my book I never got any til 11 months.. so who knows when he'll get some.
-
afm
still not feeling great, have a cold and so does V. I'm just drained.
last night J and his mum came to see V again, and tomorrow if I'm well enough I'll be dropping him round to J's for a bit again. It is great that he has been so actively involved lately. He still seems to not have a clue much but he is learning slowly LOL.
gotta go to child care centre tomorrow and fill out the enrolments. will hopefully take him first time Monday for a few hours and start proper the Monday after. Gives me a break for a day that I can get gardening or shopping or cleaning done. And for when I go back to work its another day I'll be available. So if I dont get into my course I'll be able to work monday, tuesday (if I do dayshift), wed and thurs. and maybe weekend evenings if I work where mum works, and we can hand bub over at shift change..
been really cranky today at everything. think i am just tired.
-
HOw are you feeling now Brydz? Hope you are better!
AFM: 4th tooth appeared over the weekend!!!!! Again, on the top but next to the top right! When they come through more it will look like she has lost her two front teeth! Not cool! lmao
xxxxx

Wow Vix 4 teeth now? go Alannah! thats awesome.
Vinny still has no sign of any yet.
It is raining here again today. First time in a while its rained heavily like this.
This morning I took V to day care and stayed and checked out the room and talked to the girls. Next week he's going properly for his first time :)
This arvo we are off to visit J again. I am beginning to feel like my whole life revolves around him lately, which is not cool. Are we really going to keep this up for 18 years. It is just so full on. And still awkward. Maybe in a few more months it will be easier. Although when I go back to work he's just going to have to accept less frequent visits.
AFM I just ordered a weeks worth of food from lite n easy. I know it is not cheap but I just wanted to give it a try, seeing as they do breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks (usually fruit) and I just need a good (expensive) kick up the bum to get me motivated to eating healthy again. And I still have that spare money in my account from the flood payout. Thinking I'll do 2 full weeks and maybe then cut down to lunch and dinner 5 days a week and then dinner 5 days a week. just to get used to proper food and meal sizes and gradually start replacing some with food I prepare myself.
Going to make an effort to zumba a few times a week at the same time. Need to kick some kilos. Just been feeling depressed about my body image lately. It's not that I'm not proud of my mama body. I certainly am, it's just so frustrating that none of my clothes fit right and I look horrible half the time. Anyone else feeling the same?
-
DD1 got her 'vampire' teeth first Vix  (after her bottom 2)
We just have poo poo & more poo here!! WHY???
For days now, every nappy has been poo'd in with in an hour of having it on (current one 10 minutes) Best change it
-
Brydz - Hope you're feeling better now with your cold. Glad to hear that J is taking such an active part in Vinny's life and being there for him, although I can understand how full on it must be going/driving up and down to see him all the time. It is hard enough getting the little one's ready just to go to an appointment most days. How is J and his Mum with you? Are they acknowledging you when you are there when they visit Vinny at least? to you honey! I too have days like that where I feel a bit down as I never wear any make up, jewellery and mostly have on clothes that has been spewed on (not that I mind and it's my own baby's and I'm used to it), just don't feel as I used to and it takes a bit of effort at times to find time to "groom" and "beautify" yourself IYKWIM.
Vix - Wow, 4 teeth?? Noah has been teething on and off for months now, but NO teeth yet. I sometimes wish they'd just come through already, but then go, as soon as they start coming through they might continue coming through. Oh and BTW, remember how you thought Noah was 5 months on Friday, then I said next Wednesday, then Sunday, well it turns out, he will be 5 months tomorrow! (I think....I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on my ticker!!) lol
Clover - Sorry to hear about all that poo lol :p if it makes you feel any better, I had a poo explosion this morning, it was such a poo that it came out the sides, were all over my legs, the chair (luckily I have a throw blanket over it) and my arms and hands when I carried him to the bathroom (I had to bath him to clean him properly) lol
Hello to everyone else! :hello:
AFM, had a really good weekend. Went to the markets down the Gold Coast on Saturday and a nice lunch out (part of it in celebration of DH's birthday last week). Had a crappy night sleep on Saturday night as Noah woke 3 times, but I think he was overtired from the long day out on Saturday. Slept 3 hours during the day yesterday and slept from 6:15pm til 3:45am this morning, had a feed, back to sleep around 4:30am until wait for it - 8:35am!!!! Mummy is PROUD! I had a really good sleep in too! Yay! He just went down for a nap at 11:00am woke after 40 mins but I got him straight back to sleep and he has been sleeping again since about 11:50am! Did some washing, dishes and now time for some lunch before he wakes hopefully. Also busy sorting out his Baptism, but looks like it won't be until end April (they are that fully booked) or maybe not even until end June... Finally booked him in for his first swimming lesson too. Going to take him with DH on Saturday morning at 11:30am! Can't wait! Yay!! :happydance:
Hope you all have an awesome day!
Love to you all!
Me xoxo

pretz
Yeah they are good when they come to see him they speak to me, his mum moreso than he does actually. Which is odd.
But I just feel like every 2nd day I'm either planning to go there, or cleaning the house for when they come here.
V is better, I am about 95% better.
DAMN BONDS BABY COMP I have been trying to vote for Vinny for 3 hours now with no luck. It keeps just refreshing the page (without saying thanks for voting) or coming up with errors. Annoying.
I haven't even bothered trying to vote for Noah, or Coops, or Evie or anyone else yet.
Will give it til tomorrow and hopefully the traffic will have slowed down?
Not looking forward to driving to J's now its pouring rain. but I have to go.
-
Oh Brydz, I entered Summer too. I can't get online to vote, or to share the link!!
-
Brydz - so far ive only voted for Coops and it wont let me vote for anyone else :wall: must be packed
Clover - ill make sure i vote for summer along with all the other bubbys :)
Pretz - i was only thinking about it yesterday when Noah will turn 5 months. we'll have to wait and see what the ticker says. i would have said wednesday too but there ya go :)
