Brydz - Glad that Vinny is sleeping so well for ya though and glad to hear he enjoyed the pureed apple! :dance: I reckon we should buy shares in batteries because since Noah was born I have probably brought more batteries than all the batteries I had bought in my lifetime before that! lol :p
Raffy - Noah does the same sometimes - cries in his sleep, I think it's dreams, perhaps a little bit of wind that's bothersome, but not painful? Noah usually settles himself though so I guess it can't be bad/harmful. ;) How are you feeling today? Hope you're feeling better and that if you have a UTI the cranberry juice helps like Vix suggested. I have tried it a number of times too but unfortunately it doesn't help for me.
Nikki - I will definitely give the Rafferty's one a go thanks! ;) It was Raffy that said she needed to go for her papsmear. I'm glad mine is not until September yay!! I absolutely HATE them (in fact, I never even went for my first one until 2005 (when I was made to have one before I had a laparoscopy), I was already 25 when I had my first and had one every year since then (due to one coming back abnormal)! :rofl:
Sparkles - Sorry to hear that Ty has been starting to wake for you at night too. I have come to accept that babies just go through sleep changes and that there isn't much you can do about it unfortunately except go with it. I am however keen to TRY (going to a sleep group thing tomorrow) things to help change it, but can only hope and pray that it helps/works. :crossfingers:
Clover - Nice to hear from you. Yay on Summer saying yayaya and Dada! Very cute indeed. Noah has started with aaahhh and goes uhm uhm uhm uhm uhm and squeels very very loudly now! lol :happydance:
Vix - I got a sling ages ago but he hated it and I'm not sure I want to try it because at 7.82kg and him being such a wriggler I don't know how my poor shoulders would hold it. I will give it a go though, you just never know. I'm looking forward to the sleep group / school tomorrow thanks. I will let you all know how it went afterwards and whether I'm successful in whatever I try (although I'm sure it won't happen overnight and that the key is PATIENCE!) lol. Hope your boys give you a break today! :hug:
AFM, had a good night, except that it took forever to get Noah to sleep, think it was the heat as he was hot and sweaty and wouldn't sleep. He finally crashed at 9:30pm last night and slept til 2:45am, woke for a feed, back to sleep, but then wide awake and chatting from 4am. It wasn't too bad as it's DH's birthday and we could spend a bit of time with him before he left for work and gave him his pressies. Noah just went down for a nap about 30 mins ago and I'm about to go bake DH a birthday cake (never got the chance yesterday). lol

Pretz - the suspected UTI is gone?! Its been doing this for years. It will be there one day and crazy uncomfortable and then the next day nothing. I'm still going to the doctors on Wednesday so I will still ask about it. I hope the sleep school works for you guys and I have heard from people that have tried it that it takes a few days but definately makes a difference. Happy birthday to your dh. Enjoy the cake, yummmm
Clover - that's so cute that summer is saying yayay and dada just precious. I do think these babies need to slow down hahah.
Nikki - just saw on fb that ben Sat up for a minute, snap. About 2 minutes before I read that cooper was sitting on my lap facing me unassisted playing with his toys. Getting soooo big
Sparkles - sorry to hear Ty is no longer sleeping through hopefully it changes again soon and he's back to his old sleeping patterns :hug:

Afm - well I vow to never take my dog to the vet unless hes dying. Lol I'm kidding. But we just took him back to the vet coz he has sores on his legs but they seemed to be getting worse so $184 later hes now on anti bs for 2 weeks. So hopefully that clears it up or I'm gonna be broke. Already had to pay for rego and insurance, phone bills and dfs speeding fine this week and I've lent mum $220 :duh: and we still have 11 days till pay day. I have an interveiw at the cc centre on Wednesday and now I'm really hoping i get it coz the extra money would he awesome right now. Before i was a little hesitant coz I'm not ready to leave cooper but if its only a couple of days a week and we have extra cash and don't have to live like hermits then i think it will be ok. DF and i officially decided last night that given af gets her act into gear we are gonna start ttc#2 in may. Also that way if i get this job I'll still be eligable for the paid parental leave. Not that that's got anything to do with it, really the money is just a bonus. But the baby bonus stops in April which was covering my lack of income, but coz the PPL goes for longer it means i can stay out of work longer between baby 2&3 (yes I've thought about this way to much, but unfortunately coz i want 3 babies it comes down to being able to afford them, which we will) lol anyways i am totally rambling and I'm sure none of you give two hoots about our money sitch or there lack of haha, moral of my rant, i don't wanna go back to work, but i have to haha. Ahhhh anyway might go make lunch before coopy woopy wakes xx

Nikki - i bought Cooper some of the Raffertys garden rice cereal stuff. havent had the chance to give it a go yet coz hes been asleep since we got back from the shops but ill give it ago when he wakes up and let ya no if he likes it.
AFM - so Cooper has decided he wants to be big and gets angry when his body wnt let him do it lol. when hes laying on his back he tries to sit up by lifting his head and grunting hahah :rolleyes: it cracks me up. so i sit him up and hes happy and will sit unsupported for 30 seconds - 2 minutes and then slowly leans forward. and if i dont sit him up then he rolls over and starts trying to crawl. hes got the legs down pat and can even get up onto his knees and keep them there but its his arms that wont co operate haha so then he starts yelling and looks around to find someone, this morning he kept lookin at me and i said "boo" or "hello" and he would laugh, and then go back to yelling. was rather cute lol. ive started to notice over the last few weeks that he knows who his daddy is. DF has been on night shift so he sleeps in til bout 9.30-10ish so around then i take cooper upstairs to lay in bed with DF and cooper sees him and starts smiling and squealing its soooo cute.
Sorry no Persies..... Any ideas on the following? My dear son has started waking up between 3-4am and just grunting & moaning the rest of the morning. He is not really awake but not really asleep & i cannot settle him & he doesn't really want a feed! I am not complaining about the amount if sleep i get a night but it makes for Avery long day with then a bub who is already overtired by the time he gets up in morning! I have no doubt it is some what teeth related as his little gums are swollen but I can't blame teeth for ever! :) have already though maybe he is getting cold in early hours of morning, any other ideas? Am just so tired as the last 2 days he has also had less than an hours sleep all day so I have buckleys of getting a nap in, lucky he is so cute! :)
Could it just be wind Sparkles? Maybe he just needs a big burp, or a good fart? Just a thought :)
mmmm...don't think so, as he has no problem burping(then spewing) & farts like a tropper when he needs to!! might try it tonight though! thanks x

Raffy - Thrilled to hear that the UTI is gone! Good luck at the doctors today, hope it goes well. I can't believe you have had AF for 24 days now!! That well and truly sucks doesn't it?? I always got mine for 7 days straight and hated every day of it and then had that long one lasting for 62 days so I really know how you feel about having it for so long! :angry: Good luck also with your interview at the CC today, hope it goes well and you get the job! :crossfingers:
Vix - Sorry to hear AF is 12 days late...but like Raffy say, enjoy it while she's not there! Hope you have a lovely day today and the boys behave for you! :hug:
Sparkles - Sorry but unfortunately I don't have any tips for ya seeing as I have an impossible time with Noah sleeping well at night. I was at a sleep group class yesterday to get some tips and one thing I remember the nurse saying was that babies over 4 months can suddenly change their sleeping patterns. It could also be that Ty feels cold around that time of the morning therefore waking, but not fully waking, I get that with Noah too sometimes... Hopefully it's just a few days and he'll be back to his normal self sleeping through for you. :hug:

Group Question - Noah has been rolling from back to tummy constantly the last 2 days and when he gets tired, he buries his face in his playmat and then starts crying, I think he has forgotten that he knows how to roll over back to his back. Is anyone else's babies doing this too?? I just can't keep him on his back anymore and then have to keep flopping him back to his back again after a few minutes as he gets frustrated being on his tummy for long and not being able to roll back over... lol
AFM, had a good visit to the sleep group class yesterday and got heaps of tips. First thing they said to start doing is to put Noah in his bed about 20 mins before he gets really tired, then to leave him and walk away, he will most probably start to cry (which he does) but to leave him for a few minutes and then go in and calm him down, then walk out again and repeat until he falls asleep. It's soooooo hard to hear him cry and it breaks my heart, but I know that it's better for us both in the long run. I just have to be strong and the nurse said that it's probably harder on me than it's for him. lol He actually slept really well yesterday arvo when we came home, had a 1 hour nap and then later in the arvo another hour nap. Went to bed at 6:45pm and cried for about 10 mins and put himself to sleep (yay) and slept til 10:00pm, woke for a feed, fell asleep straight away and slept.....wait for it until 7:00am this morning!!! HOOOOORAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!! :happydance: One proud and happy Mumma over here, although I don't want to get too excited too soon, might have just been a one off, but I got some decent sleep and feel really good this morning for a change! lol
Well then I had best get going, need to do some internet banking for DH.

Hi Everyone!
We went to a "Solids Group" class yesterday (I know, sounds exciting!) The lady who ran the class was a bit surprised to have a man there. She kept remarking on what a good dad, DH must be, lol. When we got home, I got all inspired to make a heap of pureed pumpkin and freeze it. We are starting her on solids. Its a bit early, but a) she is SO INTERESTED in food and b) I'm going back to work soon ;( and she'll need something to distract her from the lack of boobies.
We do a sleep class next fortnight, and I CAN'T WAIT!
We also got a bumbo seat this week. Yay! I'm so happy with it. Zoe can sit up and bash things for AGES and it means I don't have to hold her 100% of the time. She is really loving the new perspective on life.
Pretz Sometimes Z loves being on her tummy and will even do a sliding backwards crawl. Other times she gets the pouty lip and that look on her face that says "what have I done to deserve this??" I def think she forgets that she can cope with tummy time!
Sparkles Zoe sometimes does this thing where she'll be sort of sleep-yelling. Its like she's been dreaming and it upset her but she doesn't wake up fully when we pick her up and soothe her. Is it like that? We usually just persevere with waking her up, followed by a feed.
AFM I'm thinking about returning to work next month ;( ;( ;( and also about spacing for the next kiddie. Part of me is screaming "go on TTC now!" another part of me is thinking money, and the work involved in having 2 tiny ones!
Did you here anything about BLS at the class Meela? Baby Led Solids. Its not for everyone, but thats what we'll be doing when we start.
I've done it with all my kids, but DS was the first one I actually knew what it was.
We're getting a high chair next week & maybe in a month or so I'll start her on little bits.
Because we are doing BLS, there are more things I'm waiting for, to know she's ready.
Hand-eye coordination, because she'll be picking foods up & feeding herself.
Head/neck strength. While she has good neck strength, I want her to be sitting without support. For the same reasons, she'll be feeding herself.
Seeing so many of you already starting solids makes me feel like the pressure is on, but I know that neither of us is quite ready yet.
Summer does love watching daddy eat though! She sticks her tongue out & sucks on the side of her top lip while she watches us eat :lol:

Clover - I stopped with solids. The CHN made me feel pretty bad about it so now I am just giving her as much milk as possy and just vegies at night in her fresh food feeder which is really only to distract her whilst we are all at the table eating dinner. She is very happy to sit and suck/chew on it for 30 mins! I don't think that can be classified as solids??!! lol
Raffy - I was kinda freaking out pretty badly actually and was 3 days away from doing an HPT. Even though my tubes are clamped, there is 'always' a chance and because my uterus was paper thin and had started splitting by the time they pulled Alannah out, having another child would be ludicrous, probably dangerous and enough to put me over the edge! 12 days late was a pretty big issue for me and yes, bleeding for as long as you have would be fine.....for me. I bled for over 4 weeks after Alannah anyway.
Sparkles - have you left him to just sort himself out? If you have, what does he start doing? Alannah has sounded like she has woken during the night for me but when I go in she is just stirring and settles again. Unless she is screaming her lungs out, I leave Alannah so that way she learns Mummy ain't gonna run into my room every time! The other morning I was awake for about an hour (facebooking! lol) at around 4am and I heard Alannah wake up and was playing with her dolly (it has a little rattle inside it) for about 15 mins or so and then she crashed again! And yes you can blame teeth until about 3 yrs of age! I have a gf with a 2 1/2 yr old who wakes most nights due to molars coming through! What about if you sneak in and play some lullaby music softly on a CD and sneak back out????
Pretz - YES, Alannah often does it. Buries her face and then screams blue murder! I roll her on her back again and within 10 mins, it starts again. All my kids have done it. Patience is the key. Rolling over and lifting up their heads etc seem so easy to us but it is massive for them and VERY tiring. I sometimes just pop her in her swing too just for something different and I try to sit outside with her for about 20 mins each day if we dont go out in the pram or the car.
Meela - I have never even heard of a Solids Group! I read a book and got some brochures when DS#1 was at this age, that is how I learn't! Having said that, I am also an old fuddy duddy.
AFM: Just phoned Community Health to arrange to see my counsellor again only to find out she has left. :shakehead::cry::cry: I am now on a waiting list which could be weeks or even months because she has not be replaced. Living in Western Sydney sucks big time! I basically just got off the phone and bawled my eyes out for half an hour. I have seen her since 2007 and she knows me. I am comfortable with her and now I have to start all over again. I know they have everything recorded but its a BIG deal for me. Right now I just don't care anymore. Just adds to my anxiety now.:wall: Please bare with me if I go loopy!:wall:
Have booked in for Alannahs Baptism - May 15th. More stress and anxiety.

~clover~ they didn't mention BLS exactly but they did stress the importance of finger foods and self feeding starting at 7-9 month olds.
Z has pretty good head control and can sit unsupported on the mattress for a few mins, and in the bumbo / high chair for ages! Her hand/eye is ok, but really not good enough to trust her with a spoon!! She will grab things and mush them into her face / mouth.
I can see how the pressure would be on to start solids but I really support you waiting till you're both ready. I feel like bubs is ready to start trying now. But it could easily be the other way :) I have seen some babies even younger than Zoe eating HUGE amounts of food and I sort of shudder to think of that. Its a very individual choice.
It will be finger foods only to start. Cooked sticks of carrot, broccoli etc. I'll give her yoghurt etc with a spoon.
Jesse & Summer are both having a nap in my bed. Very cute. Summer has rolled over onto her belly in her sleep :lol: So they are facing each other :)
went to the doctors today... yup, bladder infection which is causing bleeding, UTI symptoms and depression symptoms to get worse again :wall: i have been given a concuction of medications which should hopefully stop it all :crossfingers: im so over this crap and just about ready to jump off a cliff
