thanks Pretz.
its nice to have some reassurance rather than have people just saying 'stop complaining'. It is a very tiring job and I think a lot of people in my life forget that I do it all by myself and don't have anyone to give me a break. I stay at mums and I could probably get her to help but she has to get up every morning and go to work so I'm sure she doesn't wanna be up to the baby.
I've come to the conclusion its just how he is and hopefully it will improve soon but who knows when.
he is very active and this might explain why he eats so damn often LOL.
got my professional photos today :) they are beautiful. can't wait to get some frames and hang them in my house! not that anyone ever visits me that would see them..
-
just a quick one...
Brydz - You are doing an AMAZING job as Vinnie's mumma  Being a single parent is a monumental task. I did it for nearly 10 years with my older 2 kids, it was the hardest thing I have ever done. Of course in saying that, I don't regret my choices one bit...my kids were better off with just me.
Anyways, just wanted you to know that I know where your coming from, and how tough it is. Sometimes the people in your life may need a gentle reminder that parenting a lil bubba is crazy hard work for 2 people, so doing it alone is freakin awesome!!!
Hi to everyone else & your cutey bubbas :hello:
Bec xo
-
Brydz - :yeahthat: since ive been in Perth ive had Coops to myself over night like 3 or 4 times and i tell you what i have a new found respect for single mummys. just over night is extremely tiring and i dont no how you do it all the time, but you do. Vinny is the luckiest little man alive to have you as his mum. dont let it get you down you are doing and absolutely fantastic job and from what i see on fb Vinny is a thriving little dude, not to mention extremely cute.
Breckles - same goes to you, and from what i see from your signature u had ur first at 16 so you should be extremely proud as well.
xx
-
Hi all,
Have not caught up but will try to over the next few days.
Pretz- In response to your FB comment on my photos, Ty is 65cm long and 7kg. He is nearly as tall as my 10 month old niece!!
Hope everyone had a lovely chrissy & NY xx
-
Morning Mummies!
Brydz - You're welcome anytime honey! We're all here for you!! I too think that the boys being active makes them eat more! lol Noah never seems to stop for long and with his little short naps during the day makes me believe he just recharges himself! lol :p Well done on getting your professional photos. It's very exciting to put them in frames and hang them if and it doesn't matter if people don't see them, you'll get to see them...if I lived closer, I would come visit you often!
Beckles - :hello:
Raffy - Hope you're having a great time over in Perth. When are you going back home? I hope it's not for a while yet! ;)
Sparkles - Wow, Ty seems to be growing well too. Noah is only 63cm now and I got him weighed yesterday and he was 6.7kg, so he is growing heaps too! Can't believe how fast all our bubba's have grown.
Hello to everyone else! :D
AFM, had a much better night last night and only woke for Noah once around 3am and then again at 6am. I hear him fussing so better go!
Hope you all have a lovely day!
Me xoxo
ETA - Got a txt from Vix yesterday and she asked me to say hello to everyone! ;)
-
pretz -yeah maybe they just like to eat all their lives! lol I know most grown males eat all the time.. maybe it just starts as a baby on milk.. I only got 6 photos in my package and I was going to photocopy one for my nan but I've decided to just give her one of the smaller ones. I will still have 5. I don't want ALL my walls taken up with one lot of photos.. I'm going to get more pro ones done when he is like 6 months or so and can sit up.. my night last night was better too. we were 4 and 7 :)
raffy - thanks sweetie. Yeah overnight is hard work especially the nights that they wake extra times even though you know they are capable of sleeping longer. it really *****s me when people I know (on my facebook) basically tell me not to complain. I get up to vinny EVERY time EVERY night and don't get a break. They often have partners who can get up and give them a break and stuff so I don't know what they need to whinge at me for. The only one I'll give credit to is a girl who told me not to complain, her daughter was up every hour (AND SHES 2 and A HALF!!) -because she is also a single mummy, and she has TWO children on her own. thats amazing I think she does a great job.
beckels -thanks also :) its nice to know there are people around that can recognize the hard work I put into being mum. not that I ever wouldn't, its just part and parcel of it all and I love my little man to bits :)
not doing anything today. just put V back to bed. mum has gone to do her shopping and things and I'm hanging out with her washing in the dryer and I was gunna go to my place but I suggested she mind V when she gets back and I'll go and do my shopping and errands and things. Its quite warm here today and I don't wanna drag him with me in and out of the car and might as well take advantage of her day off.
LMAO my cat is playing around like a spaz with a ****roach. Poor thing is being shunted around across the floor HAHA. she is a silly kitty.
-
Brydz - I'm going to get some professional photos done of all of us, me, DH and Noah as a family when he is about 6 months too and he is able to properly sit up etc. Hope you got your shopping and errands done the other day. I am supposed to go do my food shopping too, but just don't feel like it today and DH is working so if I went I would have to take Noah with me and it's raining so that's a pain, so might leave it for tomorrow. ;)
Raffy - Hope you had a safe flight and trip back home. I'm sending you huge hugs  as I know how hard it is to leave your family behind and how hard the first few days without them is after spending time with them. Hopefully it won't be long until you see them again!
Hello to everyone else, hope you're all doing well! :D
AFM, Noah has been much better since yesterday although he has been waking 2 times through the night so I have been struggling with lack of sleep and being tired. Although after DH left for work this morning at 6am, I put Noah in bed with me and we both slept until nearly 10am!! Yay!!! I think it helps that it's cooler too as Noah had 3 naps yesterday and his afternoon nap was for 2 and 1/2 hours. I can't wait to move upstairs in 2 weeks - FINALLY! We are getting our floors sanded and polished from Monday for the week and then once it's done, we're going to give it a week or so before moving the big stuff upstairs. Will probably just move little things, clothes etc up there. So excited! ;)
Well then, Noah is in his swing watching TV....and I'm starving so might grab some lunch while he is calm and happy! lol
Love to you all - have a great weekend! :heartbeat:
-
thanks for the hugs Pretz, i need all the ones i can get. yay on finally being able to move upstairs. im sure it will all look amazing and will be well worth the wait :)
sooo yup im home again. left perth at 11pm last night and arrived in newcastle at 10.45am today, needless to say im exhausted. Coops slept pretty much the whole time and only cried when we were landing coz his ears must have been popping, other than that he was an absolute champion and he even slept for a couple of hours after we got home aswell so gave us a chance to nap to. however im glad i dont have to fly again for a while, it freaks me out to much travelling with a baby. cooper hasnt even bee put out of whack with the time difference either, dead on 5pm he was grizzling for a bath, then had a feed and went to sleep. DF nd i are pooped and cant be bothered cooking so we are going to hogs breath for dinner (its where i used to work and makes it easy to catch up with friends lol) so no doubt Coops will wake up when we put him in the car but hopefully he goes back to sleep.
was a little bit flattered when i got home my cats were all over me and havent left my side since, i think they missed me. i sure missed them
sorry for lack of persies. seen as im home now no doubt ill be on here everyday again :)
xx
-
raffy -yay for getting to be back home, but it would be hard leaving your family so far away. hope you guys settle in well at home. i couldn't imagine being so far away from family, most of the time I end up at my mums place.
pretz -that is AWESOME that your upstairs is almost done :) i haven't had a chance to do anything on my house yet :( going to paint the back room -buying a tin of paint this week so I can enter the mitre 10 competition to win a kitchen. that would make the renovations kick start, having a kitchen appear for free! (still have to install it yourself though).
afm haven't been up to much. went to my sisters yesterday for my nieces 2nd birthday. it was good fun but the heat was terrible :( yuk i hate 35+ days.. much nicer today. we are able to stay in our own house tonight (i don't have adequate cooling for hot days like that so go to mums if its really hot). will be the first night here in weeks. kind of weird. part of me just wants to go to mums again but i'm fighting the urge LOL.
i tried to pull vinnys cot apart and lower it so i can side-car it with my bed. but i can't get some of the screws out :( so i had to put it back together again. i'm just gunna sleep on the blow up mattress in his room if i need to.
little man is feeling better after having a cold most of last week.
we got 2 decent 6 hour sleeps the in the past 3 nights. so that was great too! he still generally wakes every 3-4 hours for a feed during the night (no difference whether i feed with boob or formula).
when this can runs out i'm going to try a different brand. what are you all using?
-
Brydz - I'd be careful with switching brands. Its best to use one & stick to it if you're going to use one. FWIW there wouldn't be much difference in the brands. Vinny is a growing boy if he's hungry more than other babies, it is coz he needs it.
Switching milk could make him constipated & give him pains in the belly. I'd really try not to if I was you.
These bubba's are growing too fast :(
Summer is starting to move around on her play mat. Will turn to watch TV, or look at us. Goes round in circles & works her way off.
She can roll from one side to the other & has started reaching for things & kicking things.
Loves DH. Will just sit & stare at him til she gets his attention. She's started singing, lol.
She's not a floppy NB anymore. I miss that. Every time I pick her up I feel the difference in the way she holds herself.
Still loving every second, but missing the teeny tiny stage already!
Been on the boob non stop the past week. Every hour or so through the day & every 2 - 3 hours overnight. I think it might be the heat, or a growth spurt. Mix that with 3 other kids home full time for the holidays & life is all kinds of fun!! And I'm all kinds of exhausted!!
We have a wedding to go to in a fortnight. No kids allowed except their immediate family :( I was only going to take Summer.
We'll have to get a motel room across the road from the reception that I'll go to & from as needed, if SIL agrees to babysit for me. She hasn't replied, so I don't think she's too keen on the idea. If she doesn't I don't know what to do! We've RSVP'd yes & its 10ish hours away, so already have the trip planned & booked the room.
:crossfingers: she agrees. She's usually pretty good, but at 17 she's going through a selfish teen stage.
-
Raffy - Your welcome for the 's! Hope you have been getting used to the time difference again and being back home. I'm sure your cats missed you. I can only imagine how much they missed ya. How was your dinner out to Hogs Breath the other night and seeing your friends that work there? Hope you had a great time. ;)
Brydz - I can't wait for upstairs to be fully completed, to move up there and to have everything spaced out! I'm sooo over living in a messy, cluttered area....lol. Just a shame there isn't always time to do things to your place, that's what I find anyway. I feed Noah 1-2 bottles of formula a day now and use the S26-Gold. So far I haven't had any problems. I still mostly BF him when I can, but just give the formula as top ups. I agree with Clover that I wouldn't recommend you changing the formula you are giving him either, unless you know that he is allergic to something, like milk intolerant etc, but then I'd be checking with the GP. From what you have said with his sleeping and waking through the night, I wouldn't stress if I were you, really, he is growing and they all go through growth spurts. Noah didn't sleep through the night or for longer than 6 hours until just the last week and there's almost 5 weeks between Noah and Vinny, so don't worry honey, Vinny will sort himself out soon, I'm sure! :) Have you heard from J recently? Hope everything is going well.
Clover - I agree - our bubba's are growing toooo quick! It feels like just the other day we were all waiting for our bubs to be born and now the youngest of them all is already over 2 months old!! Wow time sure does fly! I hope that your SIL agreed to baby sit for you for the wedding. I sometimes wonder why people don't allow kids at a wedding or the reception, I mean, especially if they are babies...
Hello to everyone else!
AFM, finally getting a chance to get on here. Have been busy the last few days, but have had a good last few days. Noah slept through the entire night last night (first time ever and first time he did 8 & 1/2 hours straight!) YAY!!!!! He went down at 8pm and woke at 4:30am, had a feed, was asleep again by 5am and slept again til 7:45am! He is having a sleep now too, but I'm not bargaining on it lasting very long. lol We had some massive flooding around our street and area, but at least our house is fine and nothing is wet in or right around the house! ;) The floor polishing guy was supposed to come over yesterday to start on the floors, but phoned yesterday and today saying he was stuck and couldn't get here, so he is going to phone me tomorrow and hopefully will be able to come then. Fingers crossed as I'm sooooooooooo ready to get it done upstairs so we can move up there!
Hope you all have a lovely day/week!
Love to you all!

pretz -
please stay safe with all that water around! its just awful to see the news with all the trauma and horror those people are dealing with currently.
who would think water could be so damn scary. does bring back tsunami memories to see things like they are showing.. nature is so powerful and destructive at times.
have not heard from J although I'm pretty sure they got back like a week ago. its not bothering me though. enjoying not having the stress of dealing with it :)
well u would have read on fb no doubt v slept from 8-630 night before last :)
on our FIRST night back at our house. and then last night it was 830-330 and 4-730.
so I have been a pretty proud mumma :)
-
Pretz - where abouts are you?
Brisbane river just burst its banks...
Stay safe guys xx
-
helloooooooooooooooooo? its sure quiet in here. hope you are all safe from all forms of natural disaster round the place :( its been horrible the past few days.
Vinny slept ANOTHER full night last night 830-615! woohoo. so proud of my bubba. thats 3 nights in a row of 7+ hours!! what a champ.
Been stuck at mums from flooded bridges again today. This is second time since September, but only the 3rd time in my entire life its been this wet here! They are forecasting us up to 150mls rain tomorrow :( not kool. it will be bad if we get that much!
not much else is news. J finally messaged to tell me that they are back today (been back for a few days). he wants me to call. not sure if I want to or not.. for now I haven't done anything.
:( one of my family members had bad news, they went for 12 week scan and bub wasn't growing past 6 weeks or something to that effect. waiting on an inevitable miscarriage or d/c.. how very sad :(
-
yes it is quiet in here. i to hope everyone is ok from floods/fires ect.
Brydz - what a champion Vinny is for sleeping through for you. not last night but about 4 nights before that coops was waking up every few hours and i was exhausted, yesterday wen DF was leaving for work i broke down and he drove all the way to work (35 mins) and asked if he could have a few days off to be with us, hes in the air force so he has to actually show up, he cant just call in sick or anything lol. anyways i hope for your sake and that of all the people around you that you dont get that much rain. my deepest condolences to your family member, such said news. let us now how things pan out with J, GL babe xoxox
-
Brydz - Thanks honey. Luckily the water from the Brisbane and Ipswich rivers doesn't affect our area and although our street flooded on Monday it was from all the rain that came down the creeks in the area. It is just devastating watching on the news and seeing all the water everywhere, especially around Ipswich, Toowoomba and Brisbane CBD. To think I worked in Brisbane City and now you can't even get in there as it's all flooded. They've been showing the rubble and mud that has been left on roads where the water has receded. It's going to be a big job cleaning it up and take a long long time to rebuild everything. So sad for all those people. J can phone you too, I don't see why he wants you to phone him! :crossfingers: it all turns out ok. So sorry to hear about your family member, it is very sad to hear!
Clover - I'm over in Greenbank, which is South West from Brisbane (about 35km) and as I said to Brydz the flooding from those rivers doesn't affect our area thankfully, so we're ok. Hope your town doesn't get flooded? Whereabouts are you?
Raffy - Sorry to hear that Coop didn't sleep well for ya a few nights ago. I know how you feel as Noah was like that last week and it was really doing my head in, but thankfully he has mostly been sleeping 6.5-7 hour stretches through the night and I get about 5.5-6 hours at night so that helps. I'm glad that DF can have a few days off to help you out and you can get some rest. Just remember you're doing an excellent job! ;)
Vix - Hope your and Alannah's GP appt yesterday went well and that Alannah's needles didn't make her too grizzly.
Hello to everyone else! :hello:
AFM, Peter got stuck south west from here on Tuesday night and was only able to make it home last night, but he left that way again this morning and is going to stay over there tonight and possibly tomorrow night as it's an hour and half away from home and they have a lot of work to do on the highway over there cleaning it up, fixing it and he has to start at 6am and doesn't finish til 6pm so it's not worth driving an hour and a half back and forth. So it's just me and my little monkey at home for the next couple of days and nights. Booked an appointment for Noah on 28th to get his 4 month needles! Wow, I can't believe my baby is quickly heading towards the 4 month mark! Can't believe it some days! lol.
Well then, Noah is awake after his 15 min power nap and wants to be entertained. lol
Hope you all have a great day and stay safe from the floods, the fires, the heat etc.
Love to you all!

Hi girls,
I am back. Got back MOnday but have been flat stick with no energy and a case of the CBF! Alannah had her 4 month needles yesterday and apart from the crying at the time, has been sleepy and good as gold!
Her gunky eye is now 2 gunky eyes and according to our GP are blocked tear ducts.
Me on the other hand feel like crap, feel fat and ugly. For the first time in my life I am in size 16 pants. I did not even wear that size when preggas...ever! Even when I put on 30kg I was still in a 14 tracky shorts from K-Mart. I also now have a wart growing on the side of my nose and......have to have a byopsy done on my thyroid next week to rule out cancer. Trying to remain + as it is less than 5% chance of being cancer and if it is, it is apparently the most treatable form of cancer. So.....not really in a good place atm. Only you girls, my gf and DH know. I really am NOT looking forward to having a friggin' needle stuck in my neck but it is the only way. Anyways, it all explains my inability to loose weight, my possy weight gain, lethargic feeling and sluggish feeling. I am guessing my feeling of being down some days is part of it as well. *sigh*
Sorry for the me post but I ahve missed you girls and just wanted to pop in. Please don't mention anything on Facebook. My family don't know.
xxxxx
-
Vix - Sending you HUGE HUGE HUGE    honey!!! Hope that everything with your thyroid turns out good and that it isn't cancer! :crossfingers: So sorry to hear that you are going through this. It's not fair as a lovely, kind and sweet person like you don't deserve it!! Please know that you're in my thoughts and prayers and that you have my number if you ever want to talk! I'm only a call away! ;) Glad to hear that Alannahrama tolerated her needles well and that she has been sleeping.
Hello to everyone else!
Group Question - When are you girls going to start your bubba's on solids? At 4 months or 6 months? Noah's pediatrician said that it was ok to start it from 4 months on, but the CHN and GP both said that I should wait until he is 6 months old. I'm thinking of giving it a try once he turns 4 months at the end of January and see how we go. I kind of think he seems ready as it appears to me he is showing an interest in food already... Anyways, just wanted your opinions and see what you girls think/planning to do.
AFM, home by myself with Noah tonight as DH ended up staying where he is working tonight. He just phoned and said that he misses me and Noah and wish he could give Noah a cuddle, but that if he came home he wouldn't have gotten home until just now and Noah is already a sleep and DH would then have had to have dinner, a shower and by the time he went to sleep and got up, he would've only had about 5.5 hours sleep so it wasn't worth it. He's working there again tomorrow and possibly Saturday but said that he might come home tomorrow night and do the trip up there on Saturday morning if he needs to. I've been feeling a bit teary today, think it's just a lot of things... it might sound stupid, but seeing how much damage the floods caused to people on the TV most of the day (I know I shouldn't be watching it anymore) I feel sad for them and then missing Peter and Noah being a real grizzly baby today hardly sleeping and crying almost all day making me a bit despondent didn't help. Just had a nice shower and now to think of dinner......ugh, I can't be bothered cooking now, so might just have a toasted sandwich and then head to bed.
Sorry for my vent/rant. Hope you all have a great night!
Me xoxo
