Hi Girls!
Second attempt at posting while Miss Izzy is snoozing - finally! Damn computer froze before. Grrr.
Sangie - I hope your supply gets back on track soon hon. I didn't get mastitis (touch wood!) but I know all about supply issues and it sucks! Hopefully little E starts getting a fuller belly soon
Art - cute pics on FB! I love that one of the two kids asleep. What a champion mum you are! I am super impressed at how often you pop into our thread while juggling two kids. Nice work
Pooley - how's Frazer doing? Glad to hear the waking him for feeds worked at shifting his long overnight sleep to a more reasonable time slot! I'm going to try it with Izzy tonight. She did almost 7 hours between feeds last night but sadly it was from 7pm - 1.45 so I missed half of the precious sleep time as my parents were over for dinner. Bugger!! At least I know she can do it, now we just need to push it out a little later.
Janine - must say I'm very jealous of Emily's sleeps!! Izzy has it in her (see above) but I just need to move her sleep to a more appropriate time slot. LOL. As for your supply, can you get Emily back on the breast yet? She will help increase your supply again, a lot more than a breast pump will.
Nicola - you've done so well getting on here as much as you have. I'm struggling to post and I only have on child to look after!! Indigo sounds like she is doing really well and I'm pleased to hear that your move went well and you have extra help close by now. I am SO glad my parents moved to Perth last year. I don't know where I'd be without them.
Sanchez - how's Violet going? Bet you're super excited about the brace coming off! Will she fit into some of her smaller clothes she hasn't worn yet once it's off? As for breastfeeding clothes, I'm pretty much hanging out in Bonds maternity singlet tops and shorts, skirts or jeans. In the cooler weather, I've been wearing my long sleaved mat tops which are actually really nice and reasonably flattering so I don't mind. It is hard looking at all my nice clothes in my 'pre-baby' wardrobe though and knowing they are just too hard to tackle while breast feeding.
Kelly - Izzy has had quite a few days like you described Tadhg having and they were due to my low supply. We are still working on increasing my supply (we have doubled my does of Motillium as of yesterday) so hopefully it will happen very soon. Izzy is a right piglet so she has at least one formula top up a day, often more. I had to give her a bottle of formula this morning as she breast fed pretty much constantly for two hours and kept waking when I put her down so I gave her a bottle and she has been asleep now for almost 2 hours. Woohoo!!
Ruth - welcome and congrats on the arrival of your little man! Did you get the belly button issue sorted? One of the baby boys in my mothers group had a strange belly button and it turns out he (or his belly!) was actually trying to reattach with his mum!!! So bizarre but not that uncommon apparently.
AFU - thanks so much for all your supportive words girls, you are all so lovely! It's been a damn hard slog for Izzy and I but I think we are getting there. My nipples are still sore but I think that's a combination of the vasospasm and BFing in general. Most new mums I have spoken to are experiencing very sore nipples too. So much for the 'breast feeding shouldn't hurt' line I've heard numerous times. It sounds more normal for it to hurt than not! Most of the mums in my mothers groups are experincing pain and BF issues - boy was I glad to hear all their stories and know I'm not alone at all!
We have our 6 week checkups tomorrow - OB and PD. Hopefully things are all ok with both of us. I'm hoping my OB can give me a script for the new drugs I need so I can get onto of the vasospasm. I'm so tired of going to the doctors! Seriously, I've spent more money on doctors and at the chemist in the past 5 weeks than I have in the entire year! Crazy.
We had our first mothers group last week and it was fantastic! We have about 17 in our group and I hit it off with about 4 girls immediately so that was great. Really looking forward to our next session this Wednesday.
The weather has finally improved in WA (was so hot on Saturday - 37 degrees!!) so I plan on getting back into my walking again. I've always been a big fan of exercise but struggled during pregnancy due to all the back, pelvis and groin pain I experienced. It will be so good to get back into it again and get back into shape. I'm actually quite happy with my post-pregnancy body. I only gained 10kg and had lost all that by the 5 week mark so I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight which is great. I do have a 'muffin-top' for the first time in my life though so I'm keen to get rid of that. I fit into a lot of my old clothes but some of them are a little tight in the boob area. Oh, and the muffin top isn't such a great look in my skinny jeans. LOL!
Izzy is going well but I'm struggling a little to get her to sleep during the day unless she's in the pram (so at the shops or our walking - it must be moving), in the car seat or in someones arms. I think she's still been a bit unsettled due to my boob issues and low supply so hopefully that should all improve with the new meds. We upped my does of Motillium yesterday so she should be getting more milk within a few days. I'm more than happy to give her formula to fill her up though and I'm so glad she's more than happy to take a bottle. What a godsend!
Izzy is sleeping brilliantly at night but tends to do her massive stretch (between 5-7 hours) from 7pm so I tend to miss a good chunk of it as I'm having a bit of 'me' time once she goes down. I'm going to attempt to move that big sleep to a later time though by waking her for a last feed around 9.30pm. Hopefully that works. Izzy has a tendancy to start her day around 4.30am too which is a real pain. Given she has that massive sleep earlier on though, it's not surprising that she is wide awake by 4.30ish. Fingers crossed it will sort itself out if we can push out her long sleep to a later time slot.
I was a bit worried over the weekend as Izzy hadn't pooped for 3 days but low and behold, it came thundering out yesterday morning. It started small in her nappy but then she downloaded the rest of it on the change table. There was so much of it I had to call for backup! DH came armed with plastic bags to dispose of the mess. It was like a very stinky version of Mr Whippy! DH decided to nickname our poor little girl 'Stinkerbel' after that episode. It really was hilarious.
When are we planning our next baby? Not for a good couple of years! We had always planned to have roughly 3 years between our kids and we are definitely sticking with that plan. My sister and I are 2.5 years apart and my bro and I are 3.5 years and that was good growing up as kids. I want to enjoy not being pregnant for a while before I consider any more kids and more than anything, I really want to savour the time I have with Isobel. Not saying you can't do that with more kids but I just want to be able to give Izzy all my attention while she is little.
Well that's enough from me. I'm off to upload a few pics of 'Stinkerbel' into FB while she is STILL sleeping. Oh this is bliss to have some 'me' time during the day!!
Ciao girls!
PS: here's a link to Isobel's photos on FB. I'll be adding more photos within the hour hopefully. Feel free to 'befriend' me if you haven't done so already.

Wow, its been so busy in here!
Lovely pics Taurean, it looks like Izzy's eyes are a dark greyish blue still very much like Charlottes. I can't figure out what colour they will go?! Lol about the poop. Charlotte only does one a day and its usually at the same time each day. I think up to a week between poops is pretty normal as well!
Art, that's great having the two kids is going so smoothly! Its sounds like they are very relaxed little ones.
That sucks about DF's roster Janine, he is really going to miss Emily :( It must be really hard. I freak out if DH has a big week of hours and he gets home after 8!!
Kelly - I really feel for your with Tadhg's unsettled periods. Hang in there as the so called 7/8 week changes should be approaching. Does anything really happen during this time?? He may settle down then
Sangie and any of the other girls battling the tummy budge..its a bit of a shock hey.. I lost 8 kg in the first two weeks but these last 4 kg's are hanging on. I've really gotten stuck into the cheese and red wine since giving birth so I'm sure that hasn't helped!! Lol.
I did find a great plain LBD that seems to cover the tum and I have lots of flowy dresses and tops ready to go for our holiday.
Our first plane trip!!eeek.. hope all goes ok! :)
AFU - Lottie had her needles today and was such a brave girl! I just hated the look of shock on her face at first, it was heartbreaking.
We are pretty much on 100% formula now. My supply has really dropped off since finishing the motilium but she is now 4.04kgs so we are thrilled. At least she got the breast milk for the first 6 weeks and I'm really trying to squeeze a bit more out.
Anyway, better run.. desperate for a cup of tea and a good chat with DH! :)
-
PB - sorry hon, just realised I'd left you off my post! Things sound wonderful at your end! Lottie looks adorable in your ticker, would love to see more pics of her. She sounds like a little angel! Which formula are you using and how much and how many feeds? We are topping up with S26 Gold. Izzy lives it but we haven't tried anything else. No point changing a good thing I guess! Izzy's eyes are a dark grey too so we are thinking theyllbe dark brown eventually as both DH and Ihave dark brown eyes. Can't wait to see how they turn out and how her hair turns out too for that matter! DH and I both have brown hair and were both born dark but both went blonde until we were 3 so anything is possible for Isobel I guess!
Well after my whinge about Izzy not sleping well during the day, she ended up sleeping for 4 hours this afternoon! Woohoo! The bottle of formula must have hit the spot for her.
Must run. I have a snoozy bubs in my arms. Night all!
-
Hey there, we're feeding with nestle nan 1ha gold and at this stage she's still on 6 feeds a day of between 120ml to 180ml depending on the time of day (the last feed of the day is usually a big one). She seems to like it and no problems so far :)
My supply is pretty much gone. I have her one last breast feed even though she didn't get much. I felt very sad bf wasn't 100% sucessful for me but I have to move on.. :(
As you can see Lottie has a massive amount of hair! I was exactly the same when I was born and mines very very thick so I know that's what she's probably in for as well! lol
My eyes are hazel and DH dark blue so it will be interesting to see what will happen but I'm thinking more like mine at this stage as I would have thought they'd be really blue by now.
Hope everyone's doing well! :)
-
Hi
We are using Nestle HA Gold too, apparently I have been told that this is the closest formula to breastmilk as the proteins are broken down. Not that any formula is comparable to breastmilk.
Indigo's eyes are still very blue so Im thinking they will stay that way. Zanders are blue and Wyatts are brown...Dh is brown and Im blue. Interesting considering blue is the recessive gene.

:hello: Hi everyone!!! Sorry I have been MIA for what seems like aaaaaaaages!!! We've been busy with Jackson and when I think I have 5 minutes I get busy doing something. You know what its like lol
Taurena and Sangie Im pleased your boobies are better and the Mastitis has cleared. I also had mastitis and know its not terribly pleasant
Jackson and I are going well. Jackson is generally a very pleasant and content baby and is feeding generally 3 hourly. Sometimes he may go half an hour either side of that but for the most part he is 3 hourly. He is a great night sleeper too, thankfully. He generally cluster feeds from 6 - 9pm and is then down to sleep from 9pm to 3am. We are very lucky :)
Yesterday we had Jackson's 2 month jabs. Thankfully Dh took him in for them but I could still hear him crying from outside the surgery  And I still managed to cry when I went to rescue him and give him booby :( Gawd I hope it gets easier as he gets older  Then last night he was really unsettled which got me upset because he was probably in a bit of pain from the jabs :( argh it breaks my heart but its a necessary evil!!! I eventually gave in and DH gave him some paracetmol and he was much better after that so we'll be doing that next time if he is the same. Thankfully he has been much better today
I hope everyone else is going well? I have finally managed to update our list except for a few that I am unsure of the details. I hope I have everyone's details correct. Let me know if not :)
Brisbany ladies, I'd be keen for a catch up too. I dont mind when or where except I dont have a car at the moment as DH was in an accident yesterday (he's ok thankfully) so now we are 1 car down until its fixed.
-
Gah that post took me 2 hours to type up and post lol. Jackson did the biggest poo explosion and I needed to get in the shower too

Just a quickie while she has her eyes closed.
I have given up on trying to give her a bottle - after trying 4 diffrent brands with the "new and you beaut teats" she wont touch any of them. Looks like I am breastfeeding solely...would have been nice though to give my boobs a break!
We took V's brace off today - a week early but her hips are fine and I was really concerned as it had been cutting off circulation to her legs and has broken capillaries in her legs and has left nasty looking marks - I hope they fade in time.
So I can actually see what a baby feels like! She is super floppy...moving heaps more. I swear she tried to crawl! So strange.
Eyes are open and crying - gotta run
-
Hi ladies, just a quick question. Is everyone waiting for bubs 8 week jabs to get their and DP's whooping cough booster? I was thinking of going earlier but wasn't sure.
Wen't to visit the MW that delivered Frazer today. She was so touched that we came to visit that I'm really glad we went. We had a good chat about what happened post birth as she kinda wasn't kept in the loop. She thinks that I should have a good chance at a natural birth next time and says the likely hood of having the same side affect from the epi would be very slim. Good news if I go that way next time.
She weighed Frazer as well. I guessed he'd be pushing 6 kgs.... He was 6.08kg with clothes, official weight is 5.92kgs! Which is still heavier than his 13 wk old cousin!!! Holy Moley!!
-
Hi All,
Nicola - DH is a pharmacist and is recommending the nestle nan because as you said its meant to be the closest to BM. It's going down really well with Lottie even though the green poos are a bit freaky to start with!,
Sanchez - Congrats on taking V's brace off! It must be wonderful for her to be able to move around now. :)
Pooley - Lottie had her jabs on Monday at 6 weeks and I had my whooping cough the same day. DH and the grandparents all had theirs done about 2 months ago.
Hi Bob, nice to hear from you! Glad to hear you and Jackson are going well. I have a good sleeper also and am hoping it continues. :)
AFU, Charlotte had a very unsettled few hours tonight. 5pm - around 8pm is always a bit of a challenge as she grizzles (which is ok by us as she is an angel the rest of the time :) ) but tonight she was really screaming and I had to nurse her constantly. I hope its not this 7 week change..
To make matters worse DH came home after a very long and taxing day and was the worst grump. I in turn got all teary when he snapped at me without meaning too.. anyways I still feel a bit crappy and am thinking we need a nice dinner out just the two of us to catch up properly. Really looking forward to our holiday this Friday!
Hope everyone is well!! :)
-
Holey Moley is right Pooley - well done on Frazer's weight ;-) impressive stuff. Tadhg, who is 2 weeks older weighed in at 4.16kg on Tuesday :) He is way on the bottom of the Plunket weight graphs (3rd percentile) but strangely for head size he is 85th% ! Apparently i was the same as a baby, and i dont have a big head now - must just be the shape. Haha - he looks ok to me! I don't know about the whooping cough vaccine - it must be in Australia only? Although my plunket nurse did say they were expecting a break out of it this year for some reason. So we wont be getting any vaccines.
PB - Tadhg is doing much better now we got past those rough couple of days, and making sure to top him up if he is still hungry. We still have grouchy times, but he's really pretty good. Hope Lottie gets through this tough stage too - my bet is on that she will return to the angel you know in a couple of days :) Thanks for advice on formula, we might try nan next time.
Sanchez - congrats on the brace coming off! I can imagine what it will be like for you learning to hold V etc now, they seem so fragile - but it wont take long for her muscle tone and your confidence to develop :) Exciting to see how she goes.
AFU - Tadhg had a bit of a grouchy evening, and then really cried /screamed after a bath - which he has only done 4 times ever. DH was quite impressed by the volume! He was so overtired poor little guy. So we made the decision to top him up with formula, even though it had only been 1.5 hours since the last feed and put him down. He went to sleep at 9pm, and woke at 6am! woohoo. Shame i still woke up about 4 times, but at least not for long each time. So glad the last 3 nights of semi-waking at 4am (not awake but crying from wind in his sleep) might be over! Yay. Bring on the good sleeping.
-
Sanchez, it is great the brace finally came off. Was it satisfying to give her a good scrub when you took it off? A will try to push herself along when she is on her tummy too.
Pooley, that is good to know that the chance of the epi headache again is very low. F is doing really well.
PB, we had a grizzly day the other day here, usually she is so sedate but she only slept for 1.5 hours all day so was rather cranky and by midnight she was exhausted. She was up every two hours for the couple of nights beforehand and is now back to 4-5 hours at night so I assume it was the 6 week growth spurt.
BOB, thanks for doing up the list. Am I totally crazy or were you moving to the US soon?
Taurean, massive post! Well done. Izzy is adorable on FB. Have you started on the new tablets yet? I hope they are making a difference. You deserve something to go right in the boob department after all you have been through.
Kelly, Amelia is the opposite - she is high up on the plunket graphs for weight but her head didn't even make the bottom of the graph lol. I have a little head though, it is a great trait to pass on to my children lol
Nicola, hope you are o.k. You 'sound' really tired in your posts.
We had a plunket check the other day, Amelia is now 58cm long and 5.1kgs. She is doing really well, lots more smiles now (although she saves most of them for DH!).
-
Pooley..Im pretty sure that we were meant to get the whooping cough vaccine when bubs was born or as soon after...so they dont catch it in the 2mnths before their vaccination. I had been meaning to get it but of course didnt get around to it.
-
Taurean - I tried to put her back on the breast when I couldn't get more than 110mls EBM a few nights ago, straight back to the same excruciating pain. I put up with it for 10mins each side but she wasn't getting anything, screamed and started getting frantic so I ended up giving her 50mls formula for the first time to top her up, she went straight to sleep after that. Haven't needed formula since, but i'm only JUST keeping up with her feeds by expressing every hour. I'm thinking about chatting to the GP about Motilium to increase my supply as it looks like i'll be expressing awhile longer yet.... does it work? I've been using fenugreek but only for about 24hrs so far so haven't seen a difference yet. Love seeing your pics on FB too! So cute!
PB - Yeah DF misses her heaps while he's away, I think it's really hard for him knowing that he can't be here to help out and see her grow. She's started "sort of" trying to laugh now, he tol;d me to tell her she's not allowed to do her first proper laugh til he gets home. Emily's eyes are very blue now, so I think blue it is.... makes sense considering DF & I both have blue eyes though. Her hair is starting to lighten up now too. Good luck with the plane trip! We're thinking of heading up to North Qld to check out our wedding venue but are still umming and ahhing about whether to drive, fly... or whether to go at all!
BOB - how awful are the jabs!!! I got DF to hold her but I still cried lol. Should arrange a Brissy meet up considering there's a few of us here. Where is Brisbane are you?
Sanchez - Must be so great to finally have the brace off! She must feel so free now :)
Pooley - 6kgs!!! I'm impressed... he's taken over Emily in leaps and bounds now! I'm having her weighed again today, fingers and toes crossed for me. I've had a ****ty couple of days, was hoping to get to see you today or tomorrow but I don't if that will happen :( I know DF is home tomorrow (big woohoo!!!!!) but I might come round and see you Monday or Tuesday anyway if you're free. btw, I ate most of the rest of that cream bun you brought over... by myself, lol. I want to go see my MW who delivered Emily, but didn't know if i should or not. You've motivated me to do so though. :)
Nicola - I only got my whooping cough vaccine done 2 weeks ago, and I questioned the fact that she'd be having her shots in 2 weeks anyway.... I was told that the shots are a set of 3, 2 months apart each so she wouldn't be fully immunised until 6 months old, and would be suseptable to whooping cough up until her last lot at 6 months... so we got ours done.
Kelly - What a great sleep! Emily did 9 hours last night from 10.30pm - 7.30am, she's been sleeping so well, we're stoked.
Art - I had emily measured the other week, but they didn't tell me where on the charts she is :( Good to hear Amelia is doing well,! :) How are you coping with 2 bubs?
I've been feeling a bit crappy the last 2 days... i'm really unhappy that I'll only get DF home 1 week in every 3... this means that he is away from home for 8 months of the year when you add it all up! I wish it didn't have to be that way, and I hope that it isn't going to be like this forever because I'll go crazy.
I'm still stressing about trying to get enough EBM for Emily, I am only just keeping up with her feeds and so desperately want to get ahead and have a good supply stored but it just doesn't want to happen for me. I have this aim to make it to 6 months with EBM before swapping to formula but I think that goal will be unattainable. I'm just going to keep going as long as I can and see what happens.
Emily is doing really well, she's so happy most of the time now and has lots of happy time through the day where she likes to play on her swing or lay in her cot and watch the mobile. She squeals when she's very excited and it's so cute to hear. I finally found an awesome night nappy which easily outlasts her very long sleep, she's such a heavy wetter. She's starting to enjoy her bathtime a bit more now.
I have heaps of pics on my FB so if you're interested click here
Sorry if I missed anyone, hope everyone else and bubs are well!
Janine xx

Wow its busy in here, I can't keep up!
Taurean - how are the new pills going hun? Hopefully they do the trick for you. YAY for having a great mother's group. I still meet up with a couple of girls from my mother's group with DD and its so nice to have all our littlies grow up together!
Bob - sounds like your little guy is going really well. Thanks for the updated list :D
Nicola - I've heard the same things about Nan so we are using that for top up feeds.
Kelly - what a huge sleep! Fingers crossed you get lots more nights like that one!
Janine - wow your little princess is a great sleeper too. My DH travels a lot for work too but not as much as yours. So I can sympathise, sucks doesn't it?
Sanchez - yay for getting the brace off! Did you scrub her heaps lol!
Art - we are getting lots of smiles too! I love the gummy smiles :D
Pooley - 6kg is awesome! Can he still fit into 000's or is he officially a 00 boy now?
Ethan is doing really well at nights too now. He generally sleeps from around 11.30pm to 6-6.30am and then back down till around 9am. Fingers crossed he can keep it up! He still feeds 2.5-3 hourly during the day and unfortunately I'm still struggling with supply. I've tried fenugreek but haven't really noticed much difference so I'm going to give motilium a go.
It's a gorgeous day here today so I'm off for a walk. Hope you are all well xoxo

Janine We are up near Chermside (northside) but dont mind travelling to meet somewhere central. Yep the jabs are terrible, breaks my heart every time but I know it needs to be done :(
Pooley I had my whooping cough jab at our 6 week check with our Dr. I should have asked for Swine Flu as well but totally forgot about it. But will see how it goes before I get that jab I think. And Wow Frazer is going great, go you :D
Hehe Art not me hun, I think it may have been Lily J (correct me if Im wrong)?
sangie thats great Ethan is a great sleeper too. I hope your supply increases. Im sure you have but have you tried expressing between feeds to up your supply?
My Moby Wrap finally arrived today after waiting almost a week for it to show up. Was not impressed from the place I ordered it from :shakehead: Jackson has been a little unsettled today so once its off the line and dry I'll be trying it out tonight :)
-
Kelly - So jealous of the long sleep!! That is fantastic! :) We are still doing the dream feed and the best we've had is 10.30 to 5am. I'm sure it won't be long until we get her sleeping though.
Art - over 5kg is fantastic!! I'm hoping Charlotte catches up to that soon since they were born the same day! She's currently at 4.04kg and in the 25th percentile so getting there :)
Janine - I would definately give Motilium a go as it worked very well for me. The only problem was when the LC started to wean me off it my supply dropped off daily until it was gone all together. Great pics as well. I'll update my FB after our holiday and post the link then.
AFU - We are looking forward to our trip and have just finished packing. My god for a weeks trip we have a truckload of things!! It took us so long to put the pram into the case as they make it only just big enough. So annoying.
We are absolutely loving Lottie's smiles, gurgles and little laughs. It's amazing how much time you can waste just staring and playing with them!! Can't believe she's 7 weeks old on Saturday. :)
Anyway, better run.. loving Beauty and the Geek and its on now! lol..
