Hey!
Pretty quiet in here this week - hope we're all out enjoying the end of summer :) Strange to look forward to cooler weather isn't it!
Easha - We are doing Baby Led Weaning, and Art is as well. I am suprised by how well Tadhg has taken to it. He is loving trying all new foods and eating heaps - which according to the BLW book doesn't always happen, often they are busy getting used to the taste and texture of foods for several months before they really ingest it. But Tadhg is chowing down, and even had toast crusts with marmite yesterday which i expected him to suck but - devoured! I'm trying to keep lots of veges on the plate, but he is loving the pear (tinned) and watermelon too. Definitely recommend giving it a go :D For highchairs, we got one like the Ikea plain white ones. Very simple, cheap, nowhere for the food to hide, easy to clean, and you can remove the legs if you want to take it with you anywhere. I don't have a messy mat, as we have tiles - but you can get the plastic stuff from spotlight, or just get cheap table cloths you can throw in the wash. Also, we had the same face with the sippy cup and water - doesn't take them long to get used to it though.
Sangie - cool news on Ethan sitting up by himself, what a milestone - and should make those usual frustrations of wanting to sit and play / tantrums a whole lot less one hopes!
Taurean - how is solids going? It is so fun isn't it - apart from the nappies!! Ewww. So cute how the little noises are now sounding so much more like words isn't it. We have a talker too - Tadhg may only just be rolling, but talking we can do! Was so cool to hear him say Mama and now he repeats it over and over. This morning i woke up to 'mama, mama' from his cot - aawww :D We are getting mini tantrums too - not too bad, but gets really grumpy if he is left alone to play or put somewhere he doesnt want to be. I guess they are learning how to get their own way lol. The movie and shopping day sounds awesome... could get used to that huh. I hope the moving process is all going smoothly - looks like you are loving the new lifestyle already (facebook) - great news.
How is everyone else?? :)

Easha, my highchair has a lift out tray that sits inside the tray iykwim so you can just pull that out and clean it without having to take the whole tray out - it is a feature I like. As for spill mats, with DS I got a cheap shower curtain from the $2 shop and (since your post reminded me) I got a plastic table cloth for $3 today. I also have an understanding with the dog - she slyly cleans up all the dropped food and I turn a blind eye and don't growl her for scrounging lol We did BLS with DS and will do with A when she is ready. There are a few threads in the feeding section that should give you some ideas of foods to try.
Sangie, I love your DD's name! It was on my list but DH veto'd it. Yay for E sitting. It makes life so much easier now that A can sit. She loves to sit on the bench while I make snacks etc for DS.
Hi to everyone else, have to make this quick because I am supposed to be cooking tea...
A has her first cold and is very unimpressed with being blocked up with snot. I think I will start her on solids after she is better. She has had a couple of crackers to suck on but I don't think she is swallowing any so I am not in any rush.
She can sit for as long as she wants now (as long as DS doesn't topple her over) but she isn't rolling yet. She used to from 3.5 weeks until about 4 months but then she stopped. I guess it is because I don't ever leave her lying down - if she is awake then I am either holding her or she sits on the couch. With a super clumsy dog and DS around I just never feel safe leaving them on the floor. DS never really rolled either and he worked out alright.
Stupid AF arrived today. I was hoping for longer but I suspected she was on her way back. I guess we really should do something about birth control now...
-
Easha - I'd recommend a high chair that's easy to clean with no crevices for food to get stuck in. Art's sounds cool with the removable tray. Ours is a steelcraft one that goes up/down. Don't have a messy mat as we have tiles so its pretty easy to clean up.
Kelly - sounds like T is loving his food. And WOW on a first word already, clever boy! Warning though. Elena talked really early too and hasn't stopped since lol! Yes it is so much easier now that Ethan sits up. He loves to sit up and play with a few toys. He's also mastered throwing his toys and then screeching at the top of his lungs cos he can't reach them. You give them back to him and the cycle starts again lol!
Art - thanks I've always loved the name Elena and DH didn't really get a say ha ha! Just kidding, luckily he loved it too. Bugger about AF hey? Mine came back two months ago even though still bfing, feeling kind of ripped off still lol! I hope A feels better soon. Ethan doesn't roll either. He can go from tummy to back but not the other way.
Does anyone's bub have a flat spot on the back of their head? Ethan has developed quite a flat spot on the top of his head. Going to ask the MCHN about it when I see her in a couple of weeks. Hope it sorts itself, I suspect its from sleeping on his back.
We started solids too. I'm kind of doing BLS. He gets sticks of steamed veg and also a little veg mashed roughly with a fork. He is loving it! Gave him a rye cruskit today and he polished it off it no time.
I will be MIA for the next 10 days or so. Going away and can't wait. Have to pack tonight and I'm cringing at the thought of all the stuff I have to take for the two of them. Hope I can fit some of my things into the car lol!
Take care all, catch up when I'm back xoxo
-
Sangie - was just quickly going to say I love the name Elena too - it was on our girls list. DH was wanting to spell it Elaina. Pretty! Enjoy your break :)
-
Hello
Sangie - Zander used to have a flat spot when he was a bub from having his head turned to one side while on his back asleep. So I just used to stick something under his side to help tilt it the other way IYKWIM? Or I would go in and check on him and turn his head myself.
Indigo still hasnt popped a tooth and isnt sleeping more than 5 hours at night but I have had a few more hours sleep by timing it right and it only takes me one night of a few consecutive hours to feel a little better than the day before. She isnt sitting on her own yet but is rolling and moving around the floor..she is starting to get a bit cranky when in her Bumbo.
I got my period yay..and I only seem to have a libido around ovulation which obviously isnt a good thing. (I feel like a dog on heat lol)
Im getting a bit down about my weight as I need to lose more but cant seem to stop eating crap or drinking red wine..looking forward to winter when I can wear baggier clothes
-
Hi Girls!
We've been so busy with the move and renovating that I haven't had a chance to post so will attempt to catch up now!
Nicola - boohoo for AF arriving. Mine hasn't returned yet thankfully. I'm hearing you on the red wine too. I've been loving my wines and find it hard to have a night off - how bad is that?! I only have one or two but jeez I feel like I've earned them by the time Izzy is in bed for the night!
Sangie - Elena is a gorgeous name!!! I had always wondered what her name was and it's so pretty :) Yay for Ethan sitting up too! Izzy has been sitting a bit lately but she can only master a couple of minutes max on her own. She absolutely loves practicing though but she gets so excited and proud of herself that she loses her balance and topples over! LOL! One of the bubs in my MG has a flat spot. She got hers, strangely enough, from sleeping in a hammock. She's been seeing a chiro and cranial (spelling??) specialist for it but they all think it will pop back out on its own. Both my nephews had terrible flat spots and they are both fine now.
Art - PMSL at the 'understanding' you have with your dog. I plan on making a deal with our pooch once Izzy is at the stage of throwing food on the floor too. Boohoo for you too with the arrival of AF. That sucks.
Kelly - Tadhg sounds like he's doing great with the BLS! Izzy is loving her solids. It is lots of fun but so messy! I can't believe Tadhg has said mama already!!!! It must sound amazing (and no doubt brings a tear to your eye!) when you hear him calling out from his cot. I can't wait to hear Izzy say some words. She babbles A LOT but no words as yet.
Easha - solids are messy but lots of fun. I'd recommend the Ikea high chair and a cheap, washable table cloth for a messy mat. Jaida sounds like Izzy - a right chatterbox! I'm going to struggle to get a word in once she starts talking full sentences. I think it's actually payback though as I've always been a motor mouth!
Sanchez - how are you hon?! You've been MIA her and FB for a while now. I hope all is ok!
NW3 - how are you and Sam going hon?
AFU - we moved out of our place last weekend and it was full on. As Izzy is difficult to get down for a sleep during the day, I couldn't help much. It was really frustrating for me, I felt useless. I'm so grateful for my parents help and I know they totally understood but I really did feel so useless. They did a great job with DH though and most of the move (into our good mates shed next door) was done by 4pm on Saturday.
We're staying in DH's boss' apartment in West Perth while we do a few renos at our new place. The apartment is in a great location and it's really nice but I'm keen to get into our own place ASAP. Living in an apartment with a baby is a PITA and we only have the bare necessities (ie clothing, Izzy's toys, etc) with us so it's kind of like staying in a holiday house. It's fun but I'm missing a lot of my necessities - and our bed! We only have a double bed here and it's so small!!
Both houses settled yesterday, on time surprisingly. We started the renos at the new place today. We're tidying them up (the two duplexes) just enough to make them comfortable (so painting, new carpet and a general clean up) for us to live in for the next 18 months or so then we'll knock them down and build. We managed to get a lot of painting done today and dad knocked our the old doorway joining the two duplexes so they're now one house. It's weird going from a brand new, modern home to two old, crappy duplexes but I know it will be worth it in the end.
Izzy has been sleeping really well during the day lately but only because we've been out and about. She still won't have a decent nap if we're at home or if the pram is stationary :wall: It made today really difficult as I didn't have much time to offer a hand. It's so frustrating!! Oh well, I guess that's the price I pay for a brillant night sleeper.
Solids are going brilliantly though. So far we've tried pureed pumpkin, carrot, sweet potatoe and a packet of Raffertys pumpkin, sweet corn and apple (which she LOVED). I've been mixing rice cereal in with her purees and she's wolfing it down each lunch time. She's actually doing so well I'm considering giving her another meal each day already. I might try breakfast next. The only thing that worries me with solids is the change in her poos. She's doing the more solid type poos but today she only did two tiny firm poos. I gave her some Brauers Colic Relief tonight so hopefully it will help to get things moving a bit more. She doesn't seem too bothered yet but I don't want to see her constipated.
Izzy has taken to Heinz rusks too and is really mobile with all the rolling she's doing. We can't leave her anywhere for too long these days! She's trying so hard to get up on all fours that I don't think it'll be long before we see her crawling. She is such a deteremined little girl!
No teeth for us but I'm not complaining. The longer she is just gummy the better I say ;)
Bed time for me. I'm shattered. Night girls!
-
Hi All,
Art - hope bub is all recovered from the cold.. Jaida had the sneezes and runny nose but it only last for one day.
Sangie - hope you have an awesome time on holidays
Nicola - AF... aaarrrggghh, luckily it hasn't returned for me yet :dance:. I know what you mean with the weight. If I go out I spend money on yummy food and if I stay home I eat as well.
Love the comments about the deserved glass of wine.... I have been having a glass every night too - but went without for 3 nights last week. Will TRY to reserve drinking to Fri/Sat/Sun
Taurean - glad the move is over.... I HATE moving. Yay for solids, sounds like bub is loving food. Wont be far behind you - 3 weeks to go if I can restrain myself that is.
Thanks everyone for the advice on the highchair - we bought the ikea one. I thought the whole thing would be $39 but the tray was extra..... they dont tell you that in the ads..... oh well cant complain with a $49 high chair. I also found a 1.8m x1.8 m shower curtain which I will cut in 2 for a splash mat - only $3.. bargain.
Jaida is also sitting quite well for short periods. I just put a pillow behind her and then sit in front of her... she loves it although she does tire easily. She hates laying down now.. you can see her trying to sit up again. Anyway... she will be awake for a feed soon so better go
See ya
-
I love my red wine and have 2 or so glasses most nights....although I do try to have 2-3 alcohol free days a week. But it is a reward for getting through the day and if it helps then I dont really think its that bad...although my liver probably disagrees.
-
I'm still here.....just dog tired thats all!
How is everyone, I have been reading everyones posts - sounds as if everything is going fairly smoothly for all!
Violets sleeping pattern hit an all time bad waking every hour or so overnight - which meant i was getting no sleep and she was not too happy about it either.
Things are a little better - waking 2-4 times a night, comfort feeding then back to sleep. She slept through on Saturday night which meant at least i got to catch up on sleep.
I have started solids and they are sort of hit and miss. Sometimes she wants it - other times she doesn't. I am just doing veges and fruit though - nothing too outside the box yet. The poos are rotten though - very smelly i am finding, and when she does go it isn't one big poo it is small little poos all day - so i am changing nappies constantly. (Taurean V didn't poo for 5 days and still had a soft tummy and i am feeding her solids 3 times a day - Izzy will poo when shes good and ready!)
I had my first moment of realising i sounded like my mother when i heard myself say "look young lady you are going to eat this because i have been slaving in the kitchen to make it for you"!!!! Oh dear!
Violet still does not look interested in finding out how to roll from her tummy to her back. She is sitting up though which is great. Still not really a chatter. No teeth. But the hair does continue to grow!
I am going to look into high chairs because things are getting a little bit dangerous in the Bumbo, she now archs her back and i m scared she will topple it over and straight off the kitchen table. I'm not sure what qualities you look for in a high chair. Something to research about - same with baby led weaning - i am clueless about that as well.
Nicola - PMSL about horny during ovulation - not the most ideal time hey?! I am with you on the whole down about baby weight. I still can't get into my pre preg clothes and it is driving me mad. I tell you what that is the last pregnancy i ever try to increase my baby's weight by eating. I thought putting on 18kgs was all a bit of a laugh until i realised the kilos were staying. My DH has firm orders to make sure i don't step foot in a Nandos shop next pregnancy. (Betcha I am begging him for it though!)
And shes up again...i'll do persies next time.
-
Nope Taurean - I completely lied - my girl was constipated after all.
So awful she was doing the huge strains/pushes until she was red in the face and then she would have a huge vomit because of it - vomit was coming out her nose :(
It was late at night so i did the brown sugar and water - calmed her down but didn't make her poo. Then yesterday I gave her Coloxyl drops and whamoo she is back on track.
I had started to give her 100mls of formula a day - S26 newborn and i think that caused the complete bind up. Apparently s26 has a much higher iron content so constipation is quite common.
And yep we are back to waking 7 times a night.
I need a holiday ;)
-
Quick one as typing on my phone
Sanchez - Izzy was blocked up too. It was horrible! She did 5 small poos on Monday and strained terribly with all of them. I phone Health Direct over here and they suggested a few things to try but finally a soft, big poo arrived late Monday afternoon. We were all relieved and Izzy was SO happy, LOL! Apparently rice cereal can do it and I've been mixing it into her vegies so I think that was the culprit. I'll find other ways to get her iron into her.
As for formula, S26 can be tough on some babies. Izzy had it when she was really young but I decided to try both Karicare and Nan and both are heaps better. They are a lot more like breast milk and Izzy poos are normal on both of them. The S26 made her poos green and she did block up a bit on it. I won't use S26 again. Karicare and Nan agree with Izzy much more. The Karicare is very throthy though so if you do try it, don't be alarmed when you shake the bottle.
Izzy woke up at 5.30 as she got her arm stuck in the cot rails. It's a shock to the system! I won't complain though, it sounds like a walk in the park compared to your nights Sanchez. Sending lots of sleepy vibes to Violet !

Hi ladies
Hope all is good long time no speak. Sorry been just a bit busy over the last few weeks so haven't had a chance to drop in.
Well our solids adventure seems to be going quite well with Sambo demolishing everything that I give him. At the moment I am still only giving him one meal per day but think I might introduce 2nd on next week. So far he has had rice cereal, pumpkin, sweet potato, pear and banana. He finishes everything that I offer him so I have to be careful not to overdo it. I decided to give him his "meal" in the evening rather than the morning as that way if its messy he has his bath straight after and can be cleaned up. It also worked as I knew I would definitely be home in the evenings. I am thinking I will make his 2nd meal after his first BF of the day. Luckily he seems to be like his mother and likes his lie ins in the morning so he doesn't normally wake until between 7 to 7.30am. I don't know what I will do if he changes and starts to wake at something with a 5 or 6 in it! Have a quick question however now that I am trying different foods do I still need to give him the rice cereal for iron? I hadn't been adding it to his vegies or fruit.
Poos seem to be going okay but boy oh boy are they smelly. He definitely isn't going as much as he did before but guess that is to be expected as the food has to be digested.
It looks like he might finally be building up to rolling properly - hasn't shown much interest to date only doing it every now and then but now when I put him on his play mat he is starting to move round a lot more and trying to tuck his little legs under him to push himself up his mat. He moved himself round his cot the other day for the very first time - moved up to the top corner right beside where his monitor is so he could shout into it to get me to come in quicker.
Taurean have you started the 2nd meal yet with Izzie? She sounds like she is going great on solids. Hope the move has gone okay and that you are coping okay with staying in the apartment for a few weeks. You get so used to having your own stuff around you.
Art not good about bub having cold - it must be so difficult for babies when their little noses get all blocked up as they just don't know how to breath any other way. Touch wood Sam hasn't picked up anything so far though I am sure it will just be a matter of time. We go overseas in 3 weeks time so I am sure he will probably pick up a cold on the plane so we'll have that to cope with as well as jet lag.
Sanchez with you in relation to doing research into high chairs. At the mo I am still feeding Sam in his Bumbo though I have him on the floor and sit down on the floor in front of him. Only downside to this is the dog who has figured out that Sam is getting food so he now sits as close as possible to Sam in the hope that I will accidently feed it to him instead of Sam. Hope Vs sleeping gets better 7 times a night just doesn't bear thinking about.
Easha good news about Jaida's sitting. Have you decided when you are going to start her on solids? As Taurean said it is great fun and doesn't take anywhere near as long to feed him as i thought it would.
Kelly that is brilliant news about Tadhg saying his first word. Sam is a real chatterbox - which everyone says reminds them of me - don't know where they get that from. He is nowhere near actually saying a word but has loads and loads of different sounds now.
Nicola am sure your liver won't have an issue with a few glasses of wine. Mine is probably wondering what the hell is happening given how much I used to drink before I got pregnant especially when I compare it to now. I have changed into a cheap date now as can only manage a glass or two before I feel it going to my head. Only downside to waking and feeding Sam at 10.30pm each night is I have to be careful if I have a drink before I feed him. It seems to be working regarding his sleeping through so am reluctant to change it.
Sangi hope you had a fab time on holiday.
AFU well busy busy busy at the moment, we are still carpetless and insurance company is being completely pants as they are indundated with lots of claims at the moment. I really want to have it resolved before we go away but who knows. Taking Sam to GymbaRoo and Bounce & Rhyme which he loves. Also trying to organise childcare for him for later in the year. Am sure this will be a complete nightmare when it gets closer to the date trying to get him in - I've already been told that trying to get a spot towards the end of the year is next to impossible as no one moves kids then. Still I live in hope that I'll win lotto in the meantime and won't have to go back to work.
Kisses to all your beautiful babies and speak soon.

Sanchez, I really feel for you being woken 7 times at night. I lived in that hell for a long time and it was no fun. DS still wakes 2-3 times at night and A once. I am finding it rough because before DS was co-sleeping and I only had to roll over and feed him - now I have to haul my sorry butt out of bed and go to him.
Nicola, I noticed my MIA libido seems to be back again, more around ovulation time. Very inconvenient.
Taurean, Izzy sounds as though she has no time to waste being a baby!
NW3, hope you get your carpet sorted before you go away. Where are you off to?
Re drinking - I haven't had a drink since NYE in 2006! Since then I have been pregnant and/or breastfeeding so haven't bothered. I hate wine and only really like kahlua/baileys and milk. DS was such a frequent waker that I couldn't even have a drink at night because he would be awake wanting a feed an hour later. I imagine that the smell of alcohol would send me to sleep these days.
All is going well here. A was looking ready for solids so I gave her a bit of broccoli to chew on. I don't think she actually ate any of it though but the other night we had a roast and I gave her some fingers of roast potato and kumera and she loved that. She has also had a bit of marmite cruskit which she enjoyed. She thinks she is pretty neat sitting in the high chair eating with us.
I was thinking about what I was doing with DS at 6 months and realised that I was babying her a bit so I have started letting her do more and she is loving it - she has had a few turns in the sandpit and I have been leaving her sitting in the lounge with toys around her and she seems to like it.
We go to music and movement classes which DS doesn't really like, so I just leave him to it and spend the time with A.
-
Hi girls, just a quick one today - waiting for T to wake up :)
Art - good on you for not having a drop of alcohol since NYE 06! Even when i plan to have a low alcohol week i often end up with a wine on Fri or Sat night. T likes marmite cruskits too :) Gets nice and soggy with sucking which is perfect. We have mostly been having salads and meat rather than roasts etc with this heat, so not having heaps of options to give to T the next day - but think i will do some pasta tonight and see if he likes that tomorrow. We had porridge this morning, he fed himself off a spoon (i loaded it) and he was happy as - so that really proves to me he doesnt need puree. Is it still cool down your way? I noticed A often has long sleeves etc - We are really warm up here in Auckland, T lives in singlets and onesies!
NW3 - sounds like Sam is going well with solids, great news! Ditto on the early rising. T used to wake up at about 6:15, but lately we are 7am, and today was 7:30 - its so nice having that extra time in the morning, even if DH does wake me up with the alarm and just to check if he should get bubba out of bed yet for me (well is he awake!?) lol.
Taurean - thats interesting about the S26, as T seemed better on it when we switched at about 12 weeks (our nurse said its easier to digest for milk intolerant bubs) - so i havent bothered changing again. It smells yuck though. Would be nice to have milk closer to BM. Kinda funny with bub's getting caught in the cot rails, although i'm sure they don't find it funny at all. With T hardly rolling, and mostly staying wrapped up its not an issue for us - yet! Love the new FB photos - such a little look alike for Daddy isn't she - she's such a cutie!
Sanchez - you poor thing with V still waking, she just doesnt like sleep does she! Is it time to call in the sleep nurse yet? I hope you're getting some support from family and friends, i'd be beside myself if i didn't get some sleep. Wish i was closer so i could offer to come and sit with V. Amazing she is on to 3 meals already, little hoover huh ;-) Whats the fave? Man she must be feeling better after getting that poo out! They are so disgusting aren't they - DH said to me yesterday 'They're like real human poos!' lol, not sure what he was expecting. T gets the grumps when he hasn't been in 24 hours!
Nicola - boohoo for AF, i keep expecting mine anyday now i'm only BFing twice a day, and hormones are feeling a bit more normal, libido is rearing its head again, although somehow we have lost the habit - lol
So we are still on 2 BF's and 3 bottles a day and just added a second solids meal from today. Watermelon and bread/cruskits are the favourites - its funny watching how much watermelon he can stuff in his mouth. We suddenly seem to have a big boy, he is just so long and heavy now - looking forward to plunket in 2 weeks to weigh in. Sleeping is still good here, although we do struggle to get to sleep about every 2nd night - for 30-40 minutes he will grizzle on and off until we rub his back, get all the burps out, hum a song and sit with him - then he is usually asleep by 7:30 / 8pm. He has unwrapped himself a few times recently in the middle of the night, so i'm leaving him to see if he can get used to sleeping with his arms out, he seem to wake a bit earlier but be ok - so we may be unwrapped before 13 - you never know! In the day he still wont sleep unwrapped.
Think i have to go wake little man now - he is way past feedtime!
Have a great weekend.
-
Hey all,
Sanchez - LOL with the comments about being like your mother.... I am sure I will be the same as my mum too. We just bought an Ikea highchair - very basic but it is all plastic with no nooks and crannies to hide food. You can also be padding to make it a little softer. All up including padding was $50. Good luck
Taurean - Jaida gets her arms and legs stuck too. We now put her to sleep on the far side (as she only rolls to the left) so hopefully after the roll she is in the middle on the bed rather than her face squashed up in the bars.
Now we're 3 - we will start solids in 2 weeks. I am keen to start but DH isn't a fan until 6mths. I have snuck a little banana though. I then got little worms in the nappy and freaked out a little - how could she have worms already only to realise this was the banana. Not looking forward to the smelly nappies although despite being BF Jaida still tend to reek. They never used to but she now only goes every 4-5 days so I assume this is why they smell so bad.
Art/Kelly - sounds like cruskits are the way to go. Will put them on the shopping list when we get started.
AFU - nothing much to report here. Jaida is becoming more independent and doesn't want to be held all the time... she would rather sit on her own. Got to get the dreaded immunisations again in 2 weeks - yuck.... hate watching her in pain.
Anyhow Jaida is waking for a feed - have fun
-
Easha - I agree with the 6 month theory for solids, however it is tempting to start isnt it! If it makes you feel better, we don't have IKEA here so the importer of the highchairs charges $80 plus i got a harness and extra padding cushion - so $120 for our el-cheapo highchair! Still happy with it though :) With cruskits, i did notice they are a bit salty (esp if you add marmite!) so i probably wont use as an everyday food - but T sure does like them. Also some people say to wait on adding wheat - but I'm not too worried about that, once bubs are 6 months their tummies can handle most foods - suggests the Baby Led Weaning book by Gill Rapley.
Can't recall who was asking about BLS... but here is a link to a brief summary http://www.rapleyweaning.com/assets/blwleaflet.pdf and there is a BB forum on it also. Quite basic really - but if you're anything like me, you still want to read the book 2-3 times first :D
-
Hey Kelly - thanks for the info. Yes it was me asking about BLS and we have just ordered the book. Hopefully wont come up with too many issues with the MIL. She can be quite opinionated when she wants to be. Another 'out there' thing I'm doing in her opinion.
I dont feel so ripped off now with the highchair:D give your experiences
Art - Happy 6 month Birthday to Amelia!
Have a great day!
-
Evening everyone
Just dropping in for a quick hello as just waiting for dinner to be cooked and the little guy is sound asleep.
Hope you have all had a great week. Personally I just can't believe how quickly they are going. A few of my friends who had babies last year are now getting ready to go back to work which is a real wake up as to just how quickly our beautiful babies grow up. I think this is what I will keep reminding myself of if we are having a bad day.
Things are going good here. Like I've mentioned before little Sambo seems to love his solids and I am just trying to decide what I will offer him next. He is loving everything I am giving him so hopefully that will continue. We tried peas tonight so will continue with that for a few days - will just have to wait and see if his poos change from lurid orange to green! Was a little bit unsure about giving him solids before the 6 month mark but the health nurses had said it was okay and the paed recommended it so just decided to try it and then just leave it for a while if he wasn't interested.
Starting the countdown to our trip now and just trying to work out what we need to get and what we can "borrow" when we are away. We are heading to UK and Ireland to take Sam to meet his Grandparents and DH's sister and her family. Everyone is very excited about meeting him. He is the first grandchild on my side and second on DH's. I will have DH on the trip up there but have to do the trip back on my own which I am not looking forward to. From door to door will probably be close to a 36 hour trip. Hopefully Sam won't decide to start to crawl when we are away as it could make for an interesting plane journey. The trip of course provides me with a guilt free reason to go shopping to buy him even more stuff!
Anyways that is it for us for now. Speak soon and have a nice weekend.
AM & Sam Xx
