HE'S HERE! HE'S HERE!
from FB:So happy for them all and I can't wait to hear all about it!:
Noni Barenyi Welcomes William to her family. Born 7.20pm 51cms 34cm hc and 3.285kgs
H, I hope you get your af soon just so you know where you are at and can go from there
huge congratulations to noni, dh and asha on the birth of billy!!! how exciting!!!1 woo hoo, another little bub to add to our 'family' :)
clare- tell us EVERYTHING!!!! i wanna hear all about the house...where is it? auction or not? c'mon girl
art- i've been so upset about your goat. i really can't handle it...and your mum is doing my head in. maybe you should just move back here...there's a nice little place, you might've heard of it...called melbourne. great weather, don't worry about the lack of water.
mm- i feel like i've corrupted you! once you have oobi, you'll never go back. it is sooooo addictive!!
bbl jimmy screaming!!!
Congrats on little Billy's arrival Noni. :D
Arte- i too am horrified by your mum's attitude to W and the dogs. That is totally unbelievable to me. A dog is an animal that has instincts that often can not be controlled. Even the best mannered dogs can suddenly turn. I can not fathom why you rmum is willing to allow the dogs to snap at W with no consequences or option to put them elsewhere. Why would she put her dogs befoer her grandson??? i feel terrible saying that, because it's your mum after all, but Arte, if it was me i would not be going back there. And with the lack of support you have been shown, i'd be heading back to Oz too. Does DH have family? where are they, perhaps moving near them would mean more support?
As for the poor goat, i'd probably tell Lu it had died, but i guess that's because on the farm animals die a bit and it is part of everyday life here. That sounds horrible, but it's kinda true. I also don't see that harm in a white lie if you are concerned about how he'd cope.
Rainy- i have to come out and say it....... i have been a bit disappointed with the quality of Oobi..... :o You obviously haven't had any probs though. :dunno: Maybe i'm too rough on my clothes?!
MM- Your poor DH, i'm glad you got it all sorted out. He is very sweet to be so worried about you.
Tril- have been checking out that teaching site, got some good things. thanks. :) Kimbe is like a country town in PNG i guess, less effected by the violence and crime. So yes i'd feel much ore comfortable there i think, he has to get offered the job before we think about it too seriously though!!!
Oz- What stroller did you go with?
We are sick. I feel like crap. Not moving far from the couch today. DH off chasing calves this morning. hope he's back soon!!!
Yay Woohoo Congratulations Noni and DH on the safe arrival of little William! Excellent name ;). So happy for you guys, hope it went smoothly and can't wait to hear all about it.
i'm sick too ange! was supposed to do the supermarket shopping but i can't move off the couch.
hhmmm my oobi stuff has all been ok...oh except one of the buttons popped off jimmy's overalls but i think that's cos he's too fat and i keep trying to squeeze him into them cos i love them so much! LOL
we went to a mcdonalds party yesterday...please promise me none of you will ever have a maccas party ok? sorry if any of you already have but it was sooooo bad!!!..........maybe it was just berwick maccas that was bad. idk, but we hated it. dh couldn't wait to get out of there. lewis enjoyed eating 8 nuggets though!
md- how are you doing today??
cringing at the thought of a maccas party. Impressed you dragged hubby along. I am so sick of being sick. Seriously, i just tried to have a lie down and almost coughed up a lung, so I'm back on the pc.
I want to know more about Clares house!
Oh Ange, I hate coughing fits too  I think I only have half a lung now LOL.
LOL G, what was so bad about it? I have heard mixed reports about them, so I think it must just depend on which maccas you go to. But luckily it wont be an issue for our kids as I think DH would divorce me if I ever let the thought of one pass my lips ROFL. He hates maccas with a passion.
it was just super crowded with randoms...and you couldn't see the playground from the party room, which was a huge issue...and the girls working there were HOPELESS. it took them sooo long to bring out the kids' meals. they were sitting on the counter for ages getting cold and lewis kept running up and putting his hands in the happy meal boxes stealing chips. dh thought it was very funny to watch though.
idk, it was just kinda frantic, crowded and trashy iykwim?
i want to know about clare's house too!!
have you heard anything about dh's job yet ange?
Ange - Sometimes it makes you wonder re the quality of more expensive clothes for kids. My SIL has sent a few baby gap tshirts/long sleeved shirts over from the UK, I always follow the washing instructions on the garment, but I have noticed that they often come out all warped out of shape. Yet they are baby gap, expensive & supposed to be good quality. Yet I bung all target stuff in the wash any old way & no worries lol. I hope you guys are all better soon.
Cant wait to hear from Noni!
Rainy - yes I think you have corrupted me! However I have to be good for awhile now lol. Damn internet shopping!!!
Clare - We are all eager to hear about your new place!
Girls I am so excited, maybe this is tmi to share but I got AF today!
CONGRATULATIONS NONI!!!!
what a lovely sized little baby...welcome to the world William!
Ange: i have noticed on a couple of the girl oobi gear that the colour runs and the stitching is a bit wonky. i find that they do the best in the dresses and the hats, but the t-shirts and skirts have been a bit less than perfect. still love it though LOL!
MD: everytime you say 'roid-rage' i think of you in a sci-fi movie as some AI robot kick-arse chick. i do have an overactive imagination :)
Rainy: i went to a Maccas party when i was a tween. it was horrendous. stinky and claustrophobic. so i feel your pain..
Arte: i would completely go bonkers if that happened to Leila with the dog. sorry that your mum doesnt get it IYKWIM. totally keep W away from the dog and maybe explain to him that although there are nice dogs there are also not nice dogs ITMS. no point in letting him be totally scared of all dogs, but just to be aware that some are not friendly. i am sure that if he told his nanna that she'd explode LOL!
Sherie: i too think that there are some things i will never part with of Leila's. some of the things we have gotten over the last 2 years are really special.
AFM: well, the HOUSE! we saw this house about 3 weeks ago. it was out of our price bracket (ie right at the top of ours and with the market would of ended up at least 100k more ITMS). so we kinda went, 'oh that's nice' and moved on. found ANOTHER house to go for and kinda forgot about it. then DH said last week, let's have a look at the exxy house just to see the difference...
we had a look, quite nice, with big backyard on the north fitzroy border (lil' posh pocket) and realised we were totally out of our depth as a house one street over in worse condition and smaller sold for almost 750K. ANYWAY, the night before the auction of the OTHER house DH convinced me to go in and make an offer regardless. we decided to be totally ridiculous and offer 30K LESS than the asking price (we were being brazen and decided to be cheeky!). told them this was the final offer and we were going to auction the next morning so if they could let us know that night of the outcome. 3 hours later (10pm) he called and said YES!!! so now we are the proud owners of a mortgage on a 2-3 bedroom edwardian with fireplaces and ducted heating (all the important things LOL!). there is a creek for the dog and we can have chooks! lovely baltic floorboards, the works!!!
we are so stoked! dont move in until the END of october though.....baaaahhhhh!
Ohhhhhhhh Clare that sounds so nice, I love a house with character. Well done on offering 30 grand less, sometimes it pays to just take a chance. Sometimes people get too emotional & caught up with really wanting the house, so it seems that your relaxed attitude of 'if we get it great, if not such a shame move on' worked. YAY for you guys so happy for you! Now I have no idea of where that area is in relation to the actual city in Melb, but seeing as you can have chooks it musnt be an inner city suburb? lol sorry just trying to fully picture your new place.
MM: i must of been typing when you first posted LOL! we had some baby gap too and it also fell apart. it was about 4 months later that i heard that they are notorious sweat-shop brand in india and have been accused of child labour! needless to say the penny dropped in relation to the quality and now i avoid it. i have to say that i do love target. it lasts for ages...love their thermal tops and onesies.
(congrats for AF!!!!!)
the house is inner city...about 4kms from the CBD...in melb still consider *inner*...in gladstone (my small home town) that would be in the woods LOL!
Clare, the house sounds Divine! I know you would probably prefer to be in there yesterday ;) but the end of October will come around soon enough plus it gives you loads of time to get anything done that may need doing and time to pack etc and you wont have that rushed feeling. I can't believe that you can be that close to the CBD and still have a creek LOL!
H, woohoo for AF! Never thought you'd get so excited about it I bet
You're dead right about some of the more exxie brands being poorly made. I always take extra care when washing something for the first time when I have paid a lot of money for it and there have been very few times when something hasn't run it's colour, shrunk or gone out of shape on the first wash. I love gymboree for it's quality - not one thing I have brought from there has shrunk, although there was a navy top of Erin's that faded a bit but that's to be expected after a while. Pumpkin patch used to be fantastic and I got so much wear out of the girls stuff as I could pass it from Erin to Paige, but now it's just so cheap and shoddy looking and it poorly made, so think they started cutting corners with manufacturing. And JK Clothing is just as bad too.
OMG go you Clare, sounds like a lovely spot and I just love character homes, we would love one but they are so exxy in a decent area over here. I am so happy for you!!! Are you serious? I have noticed all of M's baby gap says 'made in china' but I never knew they were also making it in India, poor kids. Anyway you would think paying that price for clothing, it wouldnt be 'made in china'!?
Trill - I am always careful with washing expensive clothing too. As for PP, my mum bought a whole heap of PP flannie pj's for M at the start of winter, I put two sets through the wash a few times and all the friggin buttons fell off lol. I wouldnt have a clue how to sew a button back on so she has these barely worn pj's waiting for one of the nanna's to come & fix.
I know, who knew you could get so excited about AF!? Had a little giggle cause when I told DH his face lit up and he said 'really' as if he didnt expect it to ever come again lol. Poor thing he has been so worried about all of this, he just doesnt express himself as much as I do I guess.
LOL at his face lighting up about it - not many men would do that ;) When you get the invoice from gymboree, it has listed on it next to each item where it is made and a lot of it is from pakistan and egypt.
Well thats ok then Trill, right?
OH NO I've been doing some Bali research, they have a 'guess for kids' dont they. GREAT! Better start saving now, just wait till I tell DH, he will be thrilled lol.
CONGRATULATIONS NONI
Clare - the house sounds wonderful and sounds like you got a great price on it.
Must say I am really happy with all of K's Target clothes that I have got. No issues with them falling apart and the sizes seem to match her.
MM - great news on AF arriving!!!
Trill - will check out that website, thanks
ETA - DH just told me of another site - google for moore educational who also have heaps of sets
